Fantastic staff, fantastic food and the Scotch is divine.

We tried the Platinum/ Taste Scotland which is a great value. Abi our guide was funny and knowledgeable - thanks to her we had a great night. We got a variety of whiskys and lovely food.

A must go place for all whisky lovers. A great experience and see world largest whisky collection.

To do without moderation, I recommend the Gold visit rather than Silver, the difference in price is minimal compared to the difference in experience.

Touring from the US. Fantastic experience. If you even have an inkling that you are interested in whisky drinking culture I highly recommend taking a tour. My group of 3 purchased tickets for "Tasting Tales". When we arrived, we scanned our tickets and were accidentally ushered into "The Silver Tour". After asking our guide, Darron, "where's the food?", he led us to our actual ticketed tour, no problems at all. Thank you so much! Then we enjoyed our "Tasting Tales" led by Alex. I've never done an alcohol & food pairing before, and I was blown away. Was expecting this to be a tourist trap, turned into one of best things we did during our trip. 10/10

My husband and I had the best time on the tour!! Our guide Dani was amazing! She had so much knowledge on Scotch whisky, and made the tour an entertaining and inclusive experience for non drinkers as well! 10/10 reccomend if you’re in Edinburgh! Still worth doing even if you don’t like whisky!!

Came here for a tour at 10 in the morning, maybe not my best choice but I had other tours booked before I discovered this place online. Jamie, an American, hosted my tour and did a wonderful job detailing the whiskey making process from rain to my glass. She was very knowledgeable about the different regions and was able to explain the tasting notes perfectly. Beyond the tasting part the building itself was very nice, lots of lights and sounds/smells to enhance the experience. The gift shop was also nice, I got a couple shots of some of the whiskeys I tried to take home and share with my family. 10/10, definitely worth it, especially if you already enjoy a glass or two of whiskey!

We went on the gold tour and had a great time! Our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable, he took the time to chat to the guests before the tour started and the information really flowed. The whiskey we tried was great, we had five overall and the tasting room was wonderful. Would definitely recommend this as a must do when in Edinburgh.

We had a gold experience to discover and taste scottish whiskeys. We had Robby for this tour. He was really nice, explained very well the story of whiskey, and how to act like an expert in parties ! Thanks a lot for this experience, we really recommend it.

I bought the tickets two weeks before the visit as a bday gift for my dad, because they sell out super fast. We got the golden tour and we had a history/making whiskey part and after that we got to try 4 different single malts from different regions of Scotland. My dad was amazed and I (as a person that doesn’t like whisky) was shocked how the tasting and the history part went. I really recommend this place and our guide Steward. His storytelling abilities, charisma, knowledge and jokes were amazing!

I came here with my wife who doesn't like whisky at all, we decided to do the Silver experience as it doesn't last very long and to limit the amount my wife would taste. We were taken round our tour by Adam, he was very kind, professional and approachable. He obviously was very knowledgable as well. My wife found the experience visually stimulating and thought it was very well explained to someone who knew nothing. I personally really liked the region/smell card, this helps you to under stand the exaggerated notes of each region and what that brings to each whisky. To then choose a whisky to taste based on that was very useful and also took the branding away. After our tasting we ended the tour at the bar where you could purchase additional drams of other regions to taste, again I really like how the bar was split into regions so you could make more of an educated choice. Thanks again to Adam and the team for being so kind and welcoming. I would recommend!

End of day visit, the museum is incredible working in tourism, it is interactive at all levels, sensory etc... without spoiling too much. Thanks to guide Marcus for his comments and advice. For foreigners they have audio guides which advance at the same pace as the guide.

It honestly was very well done and more high tech than I expected. Quite cool and the guide seemed genuinely knowledgeable. I did the gold tour and would recommend it as the extra tastings helped solidify the differences that we learned about.

Really good experience. The visuals are amazing. The girls at the front desk (and guide) were very friendly and professional. We were late for our tour due to transport issues and they still did everything possible for us to enjoy the experience. At the end you have the chance to taste the whiskey and you can take the glass as a souvenir.

Unfortunately it was visualized too much and the real feeling of how to make a whiskey in a real distillery didn't come across. I was there once five years ago and I thought it was better and you were given three whiskeys to taste instead of one. I've been able to visit much better distilleries.

Briney (spelling?) lead an informative and fun tour through how Scotch is made, the different regions of Scotland that produce Scotch, and how to properly taste it. It was quite interesting. I learned a lot and I was glad that I included this in my vacation.

Thought it was a traditional whisky tour but the immersive video experience surprised me in a good way. Tasted 5 different brands.

We chose the most complete activity possible (5 tastings plus dinner) and we were very satisfied with it. I'm not a whiskey lover but I really appreciated the tasting and explanations. Unfortunately both the guide and the videos spoke a little too fast for me to understand everything. I speak English quite well and it's the first time I've found myself in difficulty. This is probably due to the use of little-known terminology. At the end of the tasting we move on to the restaurant where samples of Scottish cuisine are served. All very good. I never thought I would be able to appreciate haggis but the way they serve it at Amber (chicken stuffed with haggis with whiskey sauce) is really very good. Considering that I am Italian, it is very rare for me to appreciate a foreign cuisine restaurant so much. I absolutely recommend the tasting plus dinner as within a few hours you have a high level introduction to typical Scottish products.

Ideal for those who don't know about whiskey and plan to visit distilleries later. The explanations are very basic. The display of the bottles from the collection is nice but they don't give you time to look at it and they don't provide information about the labels, the tasting is fine. There are audio guides in many languages ​​since the tour is only in English.

Have done the Jameson Distillery tour in Ireland and a number of tastings and this was by far our favorite. Super modern way to learn about the distilling process. Our guide Marcus was super knowledgeable and friendly. Would absolutely recommend.

Great experience spent with Lottie this afternoon for the "Golden" tour. Lottie was super charming, funny and communicative. The tour is well done and the explanations in French are practical with the audio guide. I'm just taking one star off because they don't have a changing room and we had to carry our jackets and bags which ruined the experience a bit. In any case I recommend!

When we think of Scotland, we think of cashmere, bagpipes, and Scotch whiskey. I visited because I thought whiskey was a culture. For your information, I don't like whiskey. Because of its unique scent, I started coughing and feeling nauseous even before drinking it. On the other hand, my wife really likes whiskey. I booked with “Gold” and when I arrived on time, they scanned my ticket and asked if I needed “translation audio.” I asked for it because I thought something professional might come out. The guide says 80% of it is the same, and he says the rest he says. Listen to videos and explanations, view the whiskey collection, and taste it. I don't have the will to remember the regional differences because it's hard to put them into my head all at once. Our friend drinks well. I like it so much. I had a hard time finishing all my drinks.

The place is fantastic. They have a wide variety of whiskeys and you have the option of taking a tour where they explain the differences between the whiskeys and you can taste them. I highly recommend it

Quite informative session and you really must go for the Gold experience(atleast) to experience the difference among various scotch types. Would recommend for first timers as well!

The Scotch Whisky Experience was the perfect way to kick off our Scotland adventure! Our tour guide, who happened to be American, was incredibly knowledgeable and fun, making the whole experience both informative and engaging. I learned so much about the history of Scotch whisky that I never knew before! To top it off, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner after the tour—everything was delicious and thoughtfully paired with the whiskies. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Scotland.

Didn't take part in a tour but came in to look at the shop. Massive range and same typical prices you'll find in other whisky shops in the city. The bar/restaurant downstairs is brilliant. Came in for a coffee and ended up having a couple of drams too. An enormous selection of whisky to try and a perfectly clear menu. If you're not sure about spending big money on a premium bottle of whisky, I highly recommend coming here first as they probably have it on the menu. The prices are very reasonable even for high level core range whisky. As an example I had a "dalmore king Alexander" and a "bruichladdich black art" which were £18.50 and £31 respectively. These are £250 to £450 bottles so very well priced.

A must! We went a year ago and I still think about it. I think Ellie was our guide and she was a blast, funny and knowledgeable! Highly recommend this and the dinner paring. Exceptional experience and can’t wait to go back!

The Scotch Whisky Experience is exquisite! Everything from the whisky tasting and food pairing along with the shop setup was polished and refined. We had our whisky tasting and meal in the restaurant Amber located inside of the Scotch Whisky Experience. There are also different types of tours offered at different price points. Our experience included a tasting of 4 whiskys paired with 3 courses of innovative food creations. Some of which I would never have chosen myself if presented on a menu. I was thrilled to have been able to taste the fabulous chef's creations, which were, of course, a spectacular compliment to the whiskey selections. Our whisky sommelier did a fantastic job explaining the best way to swirl, smell, and taste our whisky to experience its full effect. This is definitely something I recommend putting on a must do list while in Edinburgh Scotland!

This is a tourist trap. Go to any other whisky bar or local distillery and have a tasting, the staff would probably know more than our guide here did. Hasty and expensive, we were basically thrown out while we hadn't even finished our tasters. Just a money making factory heaving tourists in and out.

Good value for money. The food was a little too salty for my taste, but still very well prepared.

We loved this whisky tasting experience and recommend giving it a try :) They gave good quality information about how the whisky is produced, served us some tasty whisky samples and guided us through the whole experience. Feel more confident about choosing a whisky based drink in the future :)

As a person who doesn't know a lot about whiskey, I can highly recommend this place. The platinum tour with the guide was absolutely fantastic. The whole experience was worth the price, the tasting was very interesting.

We sell various types of Scotch whisky. They also sold three types of whiskey cakes. I think whiskey cake is the perfect way to remember your trip to Scotland, and I highly recommend it! It's very close to Edinburgh Castle, so I think it would be a good idea to visit it together with a tour of Edinburgh Castle.

Overall experience was absolutely worth it and I would recommend it to everyone who likes Whiskey (and of course you do, you are in or going to Edenborough). BUT don´t go for the extended dinner after the tour, it is not worth it! It is soled as a separate thing and there I have to admit that the kitchen didn´t do a great job when we where there a view months ago. And there is just so many better options very close!

I’m a Personal Tour Guide and travel all over Scotland and have visited many of Scotland’s Whisky Distilleries. This experience is a fantastic way to learn about Whisky from the start all the way through to tasting Whisky. The most impressive collection of Whisky that I’ve ever seen. Great value for money. If you like Whisky or you’ve never tasted Whisky this experience should be on your must do list when visiting Scotland. Children are welcome too and even get a sample of our second national drink!

I was pleasantly surprised how much fun this experience was. Elle was very knowledgeable and had a great personality! The visual effects during the experience were a also an added treat. I think I might actually like Whisky now! 😄
