It is a very nice experience. There are different tour types. The silver tour takes about 1 hour. It is a great place visually. It talks about whiskey production and its history. The explanations and presentations in English are very nice. There are 20 language options but unfortunately there is no Turkish. I hope the Turkish language option is added. If you have come here, I recommend you to experience it.

Terrible customer service. We were signed up to do a tour in the evening but had news of a family death, so of course didn’t make the tour. As we were flying out of edinburgh the day after, we called and asked for a refund for the tickets. I understand the conditions that tickets are usually non refundable, but surely the company could have some heart and make an exception when there is such tragic news that prevents people from continuing their tourist plans. Absolutely ridiculous that the people over the phone were so rude and had no empathy whatsoever for our family. This company is stealing peoples money and do not care of anything happened to you, no consideration, just heartless.

We visited for the whisky experience and the Taste of Scotland dining. I will preface by saying that we don't often drink alcohol, and especially not neat spirits. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Our host, Dani, did an excellent job taking us through the experience, explaining the history of whisky in Scotland and how to taste the whisky and describe what we are tasting and smelling. Whisky is not for us, but that did not lessen the experience in any way. The food after the tour was very good. I went in with fairly low expectations and with the idea that it would be a bit gimmicky/a tourist trap, but the quality was superb. A personal highlight was the haggis. I'm a big fan of haggis and get it wherever I can and the one used here was up there with the best I've had. I highly recommend both experiences.

I've had the pleasure of visiting The Scotch Whisky Experience twice now, and on both occasions, Isabella was my tour guide. She was incredibly attentive, with an extensive knowledge of whisky and Scotland’s many distilleries. Her passion for the craft shone through in every detail, making the tour both engaging and informative. The experience itself is so fun—it takes you on an immersive journey through the whisky-making process, from the pure Scottish water to the final golden spirit. I opted for the Silver Tour, which includes a guided tasting at the end. You get to choose from five different regional whiskies—Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside, Islay, and Campbeltown. If you're unsure which to pick, the knowledgeable staff are always on hand to offer a personalised recommendation. When asking for recommendations at the bar, Isabella had an incredible knack for understanding individual tastes and guiding you toward the perfect dram. Matthew and Dale were also a huge help—friendly, approachable, and full of great insights about different whiskies. The staff truly make the experience unforgettable, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Scotch Whisky Experience has built an excellent team, and their passion and expertise shine through at every step.

They were also knowledgeable enough to tailor a set of whiskies to my liking (as shown in the images below), based on where my friends and I had been in Scotland so far. A visit here is a must! We booked in for an afternoon gold tour. On arrival we were warmly greeted by our guide Freya. She then took us through the tour which was both interesting and informative. All tours include the opportunity to taste a whiskey, the gold tour culminates with a guided tasting of four whiskeys from the different whiskey Scottish regions. Selected to capture the very different characteristics of each region, the generous measures were talked through and enjoyed. We ended our tour with a visit to the Amber bar where once again we received a warm welcome. Staff were able to guide us towards whiskeys that we would enjoy. Bar prices were excellent, especially with regard to rare/old malts. Whilst we didn't sample the food in the restaurant it looked delicious. A special mention must go to Jim in the shop. His knowledge and enthusiasm for whiskey was excellent. He gave us great advice regarding purchases and other interesting things to do in Edinburgh. It is worth mentioning that the gold tours can sell out well in advance so pre book.

While the food is good, avoid this place on Friday evenings. Service is subpar, slow, and requires chasing staff for action. It's cash only. We ordered two mains, and they asked if we would accept the second after the first. If two people order simultaneously, we expect food to arrive at a similar time, not after one person finishes. They need more staff.

Very very beautiful place, love the little room at the back. Very chill. I don't drink and there's little choice for me but it's understandable that it is mostly a wine bar.

Huge Scotch whiskey collection with over 400 choices including ones from defunct distilleries. Very knowledgeable and nice staff. They also have a couple of private rooms as well as Snugs seating against the windows. Very nice.

I really liked the place. Very cosy and extremely helpful staff. I could easily use the restroom, pump milk for my baby and ask for water bottle refills. The haggis I bought was vegan one and it was quite yum. They have merchandise of hagis as well which was quite fun to see 😄
