Just paid £19 for beef stroganoff for lunch - still hungry - not even full cup of rice , scant vegetables and 7 “bits of beef” - very disappointing. Nice flavour did not compensate for measly portion control - not worth it

Great breakfast before I set off for the day. A full English and toast. The staff were very welcoming too.

Despite the very large sign outside the front door saying that Non Residents are welcome for breakfast we were turned away when we tried to dine there on 8 June. When we asked if we could have breakfast we were met with a blank stare and the response that they would have “ to check”. The person asked clearly said “ we would have to reset”, so we were told “ no, we couldn’t. Obviously too much bother to reset a table or index to remove the sign from outside. Poor show.

We really enjoyed out meal at the Scot the food wash beautifully prepared and although not fancy appeared to be home prepared, Staff were attentive and helpful. We had homemade Mushroom Soup for starters followed by fish and chips and chicken in cream sauce. We were far from disappointed with our choices.

I was in need of lunch today. I was passing through the area and this place looked inviting from the outside. However, everything inside was horribly disappointing. I read a notice which informed me that I should order my food at the post office which was at the back of a shop - the restaurant was in a section to the right. It was cold, lacked any atmosphere and apart from two customers it was empty. I checked the menu, there was a plethora of rolls and sandwiches listed, but apart from that, there was soup, or fish and chips. I went to the post office and asked for the fish and chips and was told by a very unfriendly person that they couldn't do that because they were not putting on the fryer. So I went back to the restaurant and checked over the menu again. I chose a simple cheese and onion toastie. When it arrived, it looked very unappetising, and had no garnish at all. It was utterly tasteless, chewy plastic cheese and even the onions had no flavour. How is that possible? It was completely inedible and I left most of it on the plate. I paid £9.70p for the toastie and a pot of tea for one. On the menu the toastie was priced at £4.45 and the tea was £3.35. So I was OVERCHARGED into the bargain. Don't try it unless desperation is pushing you.

Six of us for lunch on a busy Saturday...table reserved as asked, and was shown to our table by helpful lady. Lovely choice of specials/soup/pasta etc, something for everyone. We were informed they were very busy and there would be a short wait for our food which was fine, good to be told in advance. Food was delicious, we had a range of lunches and we all enjoyed it. We could not resist a coffee and cake afterwards, what a choice, just lovely. Highly recommend this lovely Bistro. Keep up the good work folks.

Got a fish supper and received one small fish and a handful of chips. Chips avarage, fish shocking for a fishing community like Campbeltown. Greasy fish very thin and soggy like Spngebob.

I use this cafe in tesco everytime I visit Oban. They do a great breakfast and good coffee. What makes this a good place is the staff, alwsys friendly and quick to serve even when busy.
