Really lovely place for a quiet pint and social chat if you feel like it! Good selection of malts, gins and rums. You can have a ‘real ale’ drawn from the casks on display- renewed weekly

Lovely pub and dog friendly. You always get a great choice of real ale’s filled up to the top not like most pubs also a lot cheaper.

Carol what can I say. Never seen her before and she greeted us explained about the wait and took our order. She was so lovely colouring for the kids without been asked and was there when we needed her. Was a busy night for the pub. See you soon James

Called in while walking. First in, mainly because they actually hadn't opened! Made very welcome, excellent range of beers. Entertainment and meat raffle starting shortly after we left.....food cooking or else we would have stayed for the afternoon.

A great dog friendly micropub, with a nice atmosphere, could do with a regular dark ale from my point of view but otherwise a cracking pub!

Great little place. Friendly and good beer. But a shame that some of the beers ran out early on a Friday evening. Luckily other good beers available but they ran out too. But a happy place to go and I'd defo recommend.

Lovely little traditional pub, serving a selection of craft beers. No Juke Box, no pool table, no slots, just a nice place to have a drink and chat. Dog friendly too! 🐕

This place is a real treasure. Real Ales out the barrel. Wide range of top quality Gin, cocktails, wine and cider. Staff and owner are lovely, friendly, chatty. Prices are excellent. Regular events are on, so keep a look out on Facebook. Highly recommended.

Staying overnight at a hotel in Sywell but wanted a good pint before dinner. Found The Saxon Tavern via Google search of best pubs in the area. Great result - the beer was excellent and the atmosphere brilliant. Soon got chatting to some of the many locals in the bar at 4pm . The landlady is a real star, making strangers feel very welcome. Will be back if I'm in the area again.

Excellent beer straight from barrel and fine company

A bit of a locals pub, with an ok selection of beer. Cask ales.served straight from the barrel and draught lager, a few craft bottles in the fridge. The guy serving (probably the owner) was a nice, friendly chap. Felt a bit quirky inside, quite cosy with a few tables. Boxes of board games available too. Good location, right in the centre of Earls Barton. Not very obvious from outside though.

Wir waren mit Freunden in dem Pub, in dem vorwiegend Einheimische hingehen. Hier gibt es viele verschiedene Bier, Wein und Gin Sorten. An dem Abend als wir dort waren, wurde ein Quiz gespielt, das super spannend war. Fazit: absolut zu empfehlen

Idiosyncratic one room bar. Comfy seats and friendly staff and customers. Real ale comes straight taps from off six barrels. Beer is good quality and well kept.

Nipped in here on Saturday about 2215 while waiting for a taxi back to Wellingborough. Fairly busy bar. Not over priced for 2 large wines and a real ale. Feedback from othrrs was thevwine was good and i ghought the beer was well kept and it went down well. If geting a taxi, worthwhile noting pistcode is NN62NA.

Been here a few time now and have loved it each and every time. Friendly pub, always welcome, staff are great. Great selection of local beers and gins. Proper place to enjoy and beer or two.

Good village atmosphere great beers no food

A fabbbb small bar with a great selection of real ale and so much choice of gin, in fact nearly 200 ! Best bit for me.. no TV, no Wiffy.. relax and chat in comfy surroundings . Perfect!

A place of few frills but who needs them when you can get quality local ales and a chance to chat without the constant mind- numbing musak often on offer.

Lovely little Tavern welcoming staff and a great selection of drink and nibbles. We had a great pint and played games.

A fantastic little boozer, great selection of Ales, Cider and bottled beers. Massive Gin and spirits selection, more than you can shake a stick at. Very friendly place to drink, great staff and tasty homemade bar snacks. Perfect for a pint and some friendly banter at the bar. And it has Air Con, an absolute bonus, cool bar and cold beer, perfect 👍🏻

I visit this pub regularly and love it. There's a great choice of gins and the small environment means it's perfect for a quiet catch-up with friends. I've been to a couple of the comedy nights which are a bit hit or miss depending on the acts, but always good fun. The staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Great little find. Great selection of cider and ale. Why can't most other pubs have a selection on offer like the Saxon tavern does? We have a pub 3 minutes walk away in gt billing and still prefer to taxi over to Earl's Barton! The misses loves it there. They accept card payments now and the staff are great. 5 stars from us

An excellent old style pub which has a great friendly welcoming environment from the landladies. Real ales which you’d be hard to find in a run if the mill pub. Try it out and you’ll be pleasantly surprised

A group of ladies visited a couple of weeks ago for the ‘gin platters’! Amazing array of gins to choose from. 5 shots, 2 mixers & nuts for £15! Bargain. Cosy little place was rammed all night. Great atmosphere. We had a fabulous time.

I visited here with friends after hearing about it on Facebook - it’s JUST my type of pub!!! Nice atmosphere - like a friendly local feeling but not ‘clicky’ at all - we felt very welcome on our first visit. When you walk in, it seems like an old dog friendly house, with some stairs and a slightly furry-friend smell - you feel a bit like you may be lost - but keep going to the end of the hallway and head through the door where you will find a quaint little place with lots of tables and bar stools and a wonderful selection of drinks! The gin and vodka selections are EXTENSIVE! Seriously good choice of both - and the bar lady was very helpful in helping us decide which to try next! And if the place wasn’t great already - they bar staff suddenly got out a lot of meats and cheese on the bar for everyone to enjoy! What a lovely idea! Can’t wait to go again and try some more flavours!

Cracking pint and lovely bar maids

Visited last night. Amazing rums. Cracking cider, orgasmic scotch eggs and the biggest shout out to the staff, who made my first visit a cracking one. If you are in Earls Barton, you have to pop in.

Relatively new to the village and tried this place out on recommendation - apparently it won an award last year or something. The only thing that I can say is that if you enjoy sitting in an old person's front room eating mediocre food then this is the place for you. If not, The Old Swan and the newly refurbished Stags head offer much better value and a nicer ambiance.

Lovely little bar on the village square with a quirky mismatch of tables and chairs creating a nice ambience. Extensive selection of gins and a variety of tonics to choose from as well as real ales and other drinks. Really friendly bar staff and some great deals available too. Definitely worth a visit.

A pub that you won't see anywhere else. Real ales from barrels behind the bar from brewers you won't find in commercial fashion pub. Not a gin drinker but they also specialise in different gin & tonics. Friendly local pub where they may not know your name but they will by the time you leave !

Great gin. Rhubarb gin and ginger beer is my favourite combination. Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Real ales with a lager on tap too. But the real pleasure are the 50 gins! Try a tasting platter, 5 gins, 2 tonics, bowl of nuts.....great fun!

BEST PUB EVER This pub is without question the best around. The drinks are real and the service and atmosphere is all-round fantastic. The decor is fantastic and the products available are even better. There are adequate toilet facilities and a large car park conveniently situated right next to a cash machine. Excellent.

I know it's a micro pub but the Real Ale are too flat. Prices are not cheap and they don't take card payments. Good atmosphere though.

Friendly Service and a Great Pint

There's always difficult ales and ciders, as well as wines and spirits if that's what you fancy. My dog loves it there because she gets fusses and treats from the bar staff. And last time I went there was a magician!

Overly busy. Should be cosy when the initial rush has died down.

Earls Bartons newest and coolest drinking establishment. Newly opened and serving real ales, with a selection of cider and wine, it's a great place to pop in for a quiet drink. Situated right in the centre of the village on the square.
