Espresso in Wellingborough

If there's anything I enjoy in the mornings - it's a trip to the Espresso Café in Earls Barton! The capuccinos are delightful and the panninis are delicious - the best! Plus, sparkling Wei and her good-natured husband Joe are great, welcoming hosts!

Espresso is a gem of a café, it's got the most delicious cappuccino and the food is so good - favourite for me is the baked potato + chilli. Atmosphere is super welcoming - buggies and dog-friendly - and it's very clean and well kept. Such a relief it's right on my doorstep as I'd travel far for my morning coffee. Really recommend if you haven't been before.

Really nice people and the food is great, i work nearby and we all order a take out every week.

Visited on Saturday 27th April, and just to say i only carry out my reviews in an honest and open way and how my experience was on the day. So we arrived and waited outside and the owner did not open until 9:27am (cafe opens at 9:30am), not a good sign. So we went in and got seated and ordered the Full English which costs £7;75, my wife asked for tomatoes well done. Had a black coffee (£2;45), and a tea (£1;85). As soon as we sat down at least 12 people came in , door open, people coming in with buggy`s and dogs, so not a good first impression. We got our drinks 15 minutes later, both of which were luke warm! The coffee nice flavour but warm and the tea was like dish water! There was only the owner and a young lady waitress and it was 9:45am when in came the owners partner (the chef) , again not a good start. as nothing had been started to be cooked. Dont know if this is a regular thing being late but if it was my business, you get there early to get things ready and prepared. Anyway, the breakfast - Sausages poor quality run of the mill cafe sausages, egg was a bit snotty, the toast was half toasted and the butter was like blocks of ice, so trying to spread that was near on impossible. Bacon was poor quality, but the hash browns not bad taste. Also the brown sauce in the HP bottle was not HP sauce, which ruined my egg. My wife as you can see from the photo hardly ate any of her breakfast. Overall not a good experience and not worth the trip over, poor quality food, poor service, poorly cooked food, poor drinks. All maybe could have been avoided if the owners turned up earlier to get prepped. Get parked over here is a nightmare, and the cafe is very busy with i assume local people. There is definitely an opening for someone to open a cafe or the pubs to open to do breakfasts. Goes without saying we wont be back anytime soon. Toilet requires a good clean too. Shame as the lady is a very nice and friendly.

Fantastic little café in Earls Barton, does a selection of toasties, panini's, sandwiches, quiches, jacket potatoes, cakes, cheesecakes and brownies. Also has oat milk and soya milk available for coffee and teas. The owners are wonderful and so welcoming!

Called in for a coffee and panini. What a gem. Coffee was very nice and the panini was excellent. Prices also very reasonable. Over a pound cheaper than I usually pay for Coffee. The service was very good, pleasant team that worked fast to get the customer served. Also nice and clean. Couldn't ask for more.

Absolutely love this place. If you're looking for fancy,this isn't for you. BUT if you want good food, service that is personable then give here a go.Personal recommendation...the quiche! Parking is tricky, but not too far in any direction if you can walk.

Lovely little cafe, Popped in with our dog halfway through our walk. Staff are absolutely lovely and food was inexpensive and tasted great. Highly recommended.

Great coffee and the friendliest staff you could wish for. Good prices for freshly-cooked food and home-made cakes and cookies. I would definitely reccommend Espresso to anyone.

The staff at the vibrant, cosy little Espresso Cafe, in Earl's Barton, could not be more bright and friendly. I had a cheese, ham, tomato and onion panino, an apple and almond cake and a coffee. The coffee was good and the food very tasty. Service was efficient. Prices are very reasonable. Recommended.

We called in for something to eat and drink. We had a pot of tea and a latte followed by two panini's, Bacon, Brie and Cranberry and Tuna, Cheese and Onion. All very tasty, served with a smile. Would definately go back if in Earls Barton again.

The lady and gentleman who run the place are so incredibly friendly. The food is tasty, reasonably priced and service is fast. I’ll go here every time I’m in earls Barton.

I have visited twice in the last few months and each time take out meals were given priority. To wait twenty minutes for a coffee is not acceptable.

I LOVE Espresso! So friendly, always accommodating if you want something specific and I always leave with a smile 😊(and a full belly!) 😁

Possibly the BEST cafe I've ever been to! As a Sparky, I've tried alot of places, and for the food quality, price, amazing service and friendliness of the staff no where else even comes close! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone! Personal favourite is the smoked salmon, cream cheese, fresh tomatoes and sundries tomato pesto bagel! 👌 exquisite!

Small cafe with inside dining and a wide choice of breakfast and lunch items on the menu. Latte served with bear art. Opted for bacon, brie and cranberry panini. A little light on cranberry, but otherwise nice. Friendly service. On street parking outside. Free WiFi.

Fantastic little place,does breakfasts,paninis,homemade cakes and their incredible milkshakes,that are like a restaurant desert in a cup !! Top quality,lovely staff,and ver reasonable prices.

I purchased a mocha, and in my opinion it tasted better than Costa! Amazing service and a wide range of food & drink.the aesthetics were very nice, kind of a natural colour, but not boring.Cup sizes could improve though, I ordered a large and cane out looking regular; but apart from that I see no improvement to this coffee shop!

I go here at least once a month as the service is always impeccable waiting times always within reason as for the food well what can I say about it other than try it yourself and you will be back for more . This little gem is well presented and modern with fair prices. Highly recommended if your passing through or live locally next time I'm in I will get some pictures to upload.

I have become a regular here on a Saturday morning for a nice sandwich and coffee. Always such a lovely warm welcome. A great menu with nice treats too such as cake and cookies! Highly recommend!

We often pop in for Lunch at Espresso, the service and food are very very good, the owner greets you with a smile and the food is delicious.

I regularly take my wife and son here for a weekend breakfast. The food is good and they are a lovely welcoming couple that run the place. Would definitely recommend.

Friendliest welcome in Northamptonshire! Great coffee and cheerful attentive owners who make a great team. I read the paper while my bacon butty is made and the coffee is great. As I’ve said before the decaf packs a taste punch which is not always the case. They get the bread from somewhere special and it’s lovely, not quite white or whole meal kind of in between. Can’t fault the place.

Such a lovely coffee shop, I've tried almost all of thier cakes and sweet treats and they are all so incredibly delicious, I love thier homemade soup, they do a different one each day, potato and leak is my fave but they are all good. I ordered 40 sausage rolls from them and they made them all very well, presented very nicely and tasted really lovely, everyone said they were delicious. You can eat in and take away... The staff are aslo very friendly, always willing to help.

I love this place, it’s bright cheerful, business like and super friendly. Everyone’s here from tradesmen to Grannies. Bacon is delicious and the bread superb. In some places the decaf coffee is sometimes lacking but not here, it packs a punch. There’s papers to read and you can gaze outside or hide round the corner in the snug. I recommend.

The two young people that run this cafe are so lovely and efficient. It can get very busy here, so sometimes you wait a wee bit for your food but it’s always well worth it! The coffee is great, we regularly go here and are always remembered!

Out with the family on a lovely warm sunny day we went to the village of Earls Barton-Northampton. They took us to Espresso & even though it was shutting at 4-30pm Whey welcomed us & made all 4 of us delicious Panini’s & Lattes. While we were waiting for our food there was a constant stream of people coming in for ice cream-milkshakes-sandwiches & people passing by were curious to know why Whey was still open! After we finished our food we got up to pay & let her close the cafe but she talked to us for a while & said her husband Joe works in the cafe too. She is lovely & genuinely interested in people & happy to chat even though she was initially closing the cafe when we walked in! My niece lives in Earls Barton & has been in Espresso before. Thank you Whey for making us great tasting Panini’s & Lattes & for taking the time to chat with us even though you were closing & dashing off to mum’s to collect your young baby! See you again!

I am a frequent visitor to Earls Barton, to see family and friends. Not only is this a very welcoming, pleasant place with a good 'vibe', but it's also the nicest coffee and best sandwiches in Earls Barton. Really nice. Espresso is a place that I now always include on my monthly visits to the town, more than once if I can.

Lovely staff. Brilliant service

The coffee was OK and the service was fairly fast although my coffee did come to the table by the time others were halfway in to theirs, as the lady behind the counter stopped to deal with another customer. Last time I visited I had breakfast, but there was plastic fibers in the food from a brush they used to Clean the grill. Customer experience was lacking on that occasion, it it would have been a 1 but for the coffee its a 4 pleasant interior although small. The locals seem to like it

This place is awesome. If I could give 6 stars I would. The food is way above the usual standard of a regular cafe and lots of choice in immaculately clean surroundings. Wei (I think that's the spelling) is ultra sweet and welcoming. Definitely a place to visit!

We often visit Espresso and a warm welcome always awaits from Whey & Joe the lovely couple who own and run the cafe, nothing is ever too much trouble. Hubby always has a full English breakfast and when we come with the children they love the fresh baguettes and oreo milkshakes. But today was just us and a friends baby. Again hubby had a full English breakfast and I had a jacket potato (see picture) as I'm on a healthy eating plan I only a wanted a small amount now cheese and no butter, which was done with no problems and it was delicious. I also love their scrambled egg in toast with salmon, which I've had in the past. The bread here is so fresh and nice too, not standard supermarket loaf. The place is clean and welcoming with a little corner of toddler toys if you have a little one. Daily newspapers are also available. It can get busy, but I guess this shows people like it here.

What a lovely surprise. Came to the village to in passing to Northampton and spotted this place. Brilliant service with a smile. Very clean. Veg breakfast 10 out of 10. Coffee was remarkably outstanding. Roasting own beans...this is surely taking it to another level. Will certainly bring family here. Very very impressed. Thank you so much xxxx
