Absolutely fabulous meal at the Savoy Grill last Saturday the 16th November, whilst we were staying at the hotel. The food was outstanding, tasty, well presented and probably one of the best meals I have every had. The staff were all absolutely wonderful, particularly Joy, who looked after us and was so friendly and welcoming. Thanks so much for making it such a special evening, much appreciated. Jo Hoddes

Visited recently to celebrate a major birthday. The waiting staff were as attentive as ever but the time it took for the food to be served was disappointing, very slow. I expect that there was a staff shortage in the kitchen. The restaurant was busy, some guests were served their orders before we got ours even though we ordered before them. Although we've been here a few times and also dined in the River room we will be thinking twice about revisiting

My partner and I were booked in for a late lunch, and we could not fault anything. The food was superb, the staff attentive and friendly but not over whelming. The atmosphere was just right. We had the set lunch menu, and I had a couple of glasses of white wine and ny partner had a couple of red. Both wines were extremely good. All in all a great experience, and I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

The wine waiters advise perfect. Great service from the staff. The food was fantastic. Cheese soufflé to start. Beef wellington main and chocolate soufflé for desert. Couldn’t fault the food. The cheese soufflé was super cheesy. The beef wellington medium rare perfect. The chocolate soufflé was can I say too chocolatey ha. Yummy. Ok it’s dam expensive. As a Yorkshire man the bill made me cry. But I have to say. The best meal I’ve had ever.

Had a lot of expectations for the famous savoy grill. The food was quite enjoyable, especially the steak tartare and lobster thermidor. The beef wellington was average at best. However, the experience as a whole was not that great due to the service. The staff members were not friendly and I felt like me and my girlfriend were discriminated against because we are East Asian. I say this because the tables around us were being treated so kindly by staff, joking and laughing. To no surprise, the guests were all Caucasian. The staff who served us, had a very different attitude towards us. Also felt like we were ignored at times, when we wanted some help. It was strange and uncomfortable. Overall, food was great, service was poor.

A wonderful treat for lunch. We had the tasting menu which was quite simply divine. I chose not to have the foie gras so was given an alternative, followed by oyster with foam, wonderful Arnold Bennett soufflé, beef Wellington and Bakewell tart. Finally enough, the bakewell tart was a slight letdown, which is why I’ve only given four stars for the food. The service was impeccable and made the event really special.

Our experience was tremendous! The food was as good as would be expected from an establishment of this caliber. I’ve never liked wine or champagne, nor understood the whole idea of a sommelier. I’m a believer now! Each pairing truly added to the food. The beef Wellington was soft like butter!

I visited with my partner for a birthday treat for her as we had heard good things about here! First of all we arrived on a busy Saturday night, as expected in most restaurants you are expected to get your jackets taken as we was carrying them on entering the restaurant but no offer of that, which was poor. Then starting with the food! We went for the taste of sevoy menu, the first cause was a foie gras bon bon, which was the size of a ten pence coin! Although this was actually tasty it was half a mouthful! Then the second course was an oyster with a champagne and blackberry sauce! The oyster was ok but the sauce was absolutely lacking in any flavour! Very disappointing! The next was the soufflé which was again just ok at best. The main event which was the wellington was actually quite nice but that was the only good thing so far! The dessert was meant to be a Bakewell tart which if you didn’t know was it was meant to be you’d never of guessed it was a Bakewell because it taste absolutely nothing like it! To top it off we never got asked by anyone serving if we enjoying any of the food!! This place charges top dollar price for bang average food and service! Do not visit if you want bang average food and absolutely crap service! I don’t mind paying a service charge if they give good service but then to stick 20% on top for maybe the worst service I’ve had! Avoid at all costs people!

First impressions are important and I was wowed by the atmosphere and staff. I had a few different servers but the one that stood out the most to me was Niko. He was so friendly, always smiling, and he was also very funny! He made the entire experience even better. Now onto the food. My partner and I had the Taste of Savoy. It was 6-courses and the most memorable one for me was the Beef Wellington. It was cooked so well, and it was tender! The flavour was rich and the mashed potatoes were so creamy. The other courses were delicious as well, but again, the star of the show for me was the Beef Wellington. 10/10 recommend.

A Delightful Family Dining Experience at Savoy Grill – Gordon Ramsay's Classic Elegance Dining at Savoy Grill, nestled in the iconic Savoy Hotel, was a culinary journey blending British and French elegance. Our recent visit left us impressed by both the food and the experience. With Gordon Ramsay’s refined touch on classic dishes, it’s clear why this venue is renowned for its signature menu. We began our meal with the yellowtail crudo, a light yet flavorful dish. The freshness of the fish, perfectly sliced and delicately seasoned, was elevated by a touch of citrus, making it a refreshing start to the evening. Complementing this was the caviar, a luxurious addition that paired beautifully with the crudo, offering a rich, briny burst of flavour that melted on the tongue. Next, we sampled the Arnold soufflé, a savoury masterpiece. Light, airy, and packed with flavour, this dish was a personal favourite. Its fluffiness and subtle seasoning showcased the finesse of the kitchen, hinting at what was still to come. Of course, no visit to Savoy Grill is complete without trying their signature Beef Wellington. This dish truly lived up to its reputation—succulent, tender beef encased in golden puff pastry, paired with a rich jus that tied everything together. The buttery pomme purée alongside was a perfect accompaniment, smooth and decadent with every bite. Our son opted for the steak fillet, which was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and seared to a wonderful char. He also enjoyed a classic favourite from the kid’s menu, fish and chips, which hit all the right notes—crispy batter on the outside and tender, flaky fish inside. For my wife, the Poached Turbot was a highlight. The fish was cooked to delicate perfection, maintaining its natural flavours, complemented by a well-balanced sauce that added depth to the dish. Dessert was an indulgence in its own right. The Apple tarte Tatin offered a beautiful balance of caramelized apples on a crisp pastry base, while the sticky toffee pudding was the perfect end to the meal—rich, moist, and accompanied by a luscious sauce. The service throughout our visit was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, making us feel welcome in this luxurious setting. The restaurant is also family-friendly, which made our experience even more enjoyable. It's worth noting that halal options are available upon pre-order, particularly for the Beef Wellington. For a classic dining experience in an elegant setting, Savoy Grill is a must-visit, perfect for special occasions or family outings.

We booked a last-minute reservation at the Savoy Grill, hoping for a nice Sunday roast after a busy weekend. Things started off well with friendly staff and quick seating, but service dropped off after we ordered tap water—it felt like we were being overlooked after that. It took ages to get attention to order wine and food, which was frustrating for a place like this. To make things worse, a nearby group was being loud, even playing videos on their phones, and it really killed the atmosphere. I was surprised the staff didn’t step in. When the sommelier finally came, I asked for a carafe of house red but was curtly told they don’t do that. Not a big deal, but the attitude wasn’t great. The wine we ordered was nice, though. The biggest letdown was the food. We came for the roast, but it was no longer available, and no apology was offered. We ordered beef Wellingtons instead, but they arrived cold, my meat wasn’t as rare as requested, and the fries didn’t pair well with the dish. When I mentioned the issue, the waiter just said to try it, which wasn’t helpful. The only highlight was the dessert, which was fantastic. Overall, for the price and reputation of the Savoy Grill, I expected way better and left feeling disappointed. I emailed the Savoy Grill re. the disappointing service and experience and they haven’t replied which I think shows the level of care they have.

What can I say? This was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday lunch. The Savoy has always been such a magnificent hotel. A really beautiful building. And the art-deco design of the Savoy Grill is very pleasing. My hats off to the designers! (I didn't have a hat, but I would have certainly tipped it!) We ended up picking the Taste of Savoy as we couldn't decide what to have. The menu just sounds delicious 😋 We will simply have to go back to try the other options! Everything was incredible! Not much else needs to be said. The ingredients and flavors match beautifully and allow the more subtle flavors to come through. I thought the Beef Wellington was going to be my favorite, but the soufflé has nipped it to the top spot. Dreamy!! Also a surprise hit was the marmite butter on fresh bread. A light, smooth texture with an amazing caramel-like taste. Wow - I wish I could have that at home! Looking forward to sampling the other menu options soon 😛

Having eaten dinner at Restaurant 1890 last year we booked Savoy Grill this time round but it was a disappointing experience. Firstly, there were crumbs on the seat we were shown. Food was tasty (we order the taste of the Savoy menu) but the staff was not attentive at all, we didn't have the dishes explained to us as they arrived and we weren't offered any drinks at the end of the meal. We felt rather rushed and decided to leave and spend the rest of the evening elsewhere. Definitely not the Savoy standard we experienced in the hotel and other food places in the Savoy. I'd not recommend this restaurant and we definitely won't be back :(

The Staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the Blackberry and Champagne oysters for starters and the Ribeye with peppercorn sauce for main! My better half had the butternut squash veloute and beef wellington for main. The fillet felt like you were eating a pâté! My Ribeye was seared beautifully and cooked perfectly medium rare. The sides of paprika fries and tender stem broccoli were a beautiful accompaniment. The surroundings were delightful. An all round brilliant experience. Thank you to the Savoy Grill team.

Visiting from New Zealand and this was our bucket list dinner and it certainly did not disappoint. The rib eye and beef wellington were cooked beautifully. The flavours and temperature were excellent. You could taste the freshness, quality and love put into every dish that we ordered. The balance of everything combined was flawless. Not even your choice of drink altered the taste of anything. Every element was balanced. The seating placement was wonderful, we could view the whole restaurant and you were not secluded or tucked away. Not a single element or minute of the experience had any fault or negative note. We were two couples with reservations at 8.30 PM. Perhaps it was our fault for asking for a better table when we arrived. The table was immediately to the left of the entrance and opposite the table used by the Manager. As it turned out, the wait was long, through no fault of the Manager as it was a busy night. He was polite and tried his best. Eventually when we were seated the restaurant had already started to get less crowded. All four of us ordered the “Tasting Menu “. The Sommelier, Keith, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in selecting two bottles of wine. The wait staff were also excellent. We were, however, disappointed with the food. Our first choice of Oysters was unavailable. I won’t dissect each course but by far the biggest disappointment was with the Beef Wellington. It was served warm at best. By then it was late and there may have been two tables still beside us. The waiter very politely suggested we return the dish for hot replacements. Because of the time we declined. The overall service cannot be faulted but for a Michelin Starred restaurant the food was just not up to the rating.

This was a super special occasion celebrating momentous milestones. Our waiter Nicco was outstanding. He truly couldn’t do enough for us. He wasn’t intrusive, but genuine, kind and funny. The food….oh my gosh. We savoured every mouthful. Between 3 of us we shared the steak tare tare. Incredible! One had steak fillet which was huge. Two of us had the beef wellington. I closed my eyes whilst tasting every bite. The flavours just dance along the tastebuds. I’ve had nothing like that before. No wonder it’s 5* The icing on the cake was meeting Theirry! Wow what a gent. He spent at least 10 minutes chatting with us, recalling wonderful stories of the Savoy. That made my evening. He even instructed the waiters to give us a tour of the kitchen!!! I was invited to the Grill for dinner. The food was all way too salty. I ate the spiced steak tartare starter out of politeness to my host but I mentioned this quietly to the waiting staff when they cleared the plates. I'm not sure if they didn't pass this back to the kitchen or if the kitchen didn't listen. Anyway, the fish main course came inedibly salty and I sent it back. The replacement was just as bad. The fish also had a texture like it had slight freezer burn. Disappointing, as the menu read so well and I had been looking forward to dining here. The wine was good.

I came last night (13th August 2024). It was a dream come true to eat at a Gordon Ramsay fine dining restaurant. I started off with the smoked haddock soufflé it was incredibly light, the flavours between the egg and the fish were well balanced. Absolute perfection. Then the main event, the beef wellington. This dish has evaded me for six years. Well worth the wait. The pomme puree not a single lump, the tenderstem broccoli great flavour. The wellington: talk about melt in your mouth I was nearly crying it was that good. Sticky toffee pudding well you just can't go wrong with that, it was a perfect ending. I was impressed with the ice cream though so smooth and creamy. Beautiful. Definitely come again one day.

We have been there for the first time for a lunch experience. I ordered a seabass as starter, which was a bit disappointing, but our waitress Fanny have deal with the situation very nicely and efficiently, and bring us a cheese souffle instead that was really good. Overall the food was good, and we loved the friendly French service authenticity ! We will definitely come back !

The service at the Savoy Grill was extremely good. The staff were exceptional with any questions about the menu. Emanuele was outstanding and went above and beyond to welcome us. The Sommelier gave us such good advice on the wine, top recommendation. Much appreciated and made my aunts birthday one to remember. The food & wine was also delicious.

Beautiful restaurant, with fantastic food. We opted for the tasting menu, which I highly recommend. The beef Wellington is the star of the show—one of the best I've ever had. The souffle was very delicious, and the lemon cheese was a delightful addition. This is what a tasting menu should be. However, I have to take one star off because it felt too cramped. All the tables are extremely close to each other, making it feel like we were all seated at one large table. I understand that space is limited in central London, but in proper fine dining, you shouldn't feel glued to other tables. This was the only drawback for an otherwise excellent experience.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Service was amazing. We were welcomed by staff and seated, then welcomed again personally by a man in a grey suit. We then had someone bringing wine, someone bringing food and someone bringing cocktails from the bar. It was quite the team of people taking care of us and you really feel taken care of. The atmosphere was delightful and the food was amazing! The best steak tartare I’ve ever eaten. And of course I had to try the beef Wellington which was out of this world. It definitely lives up to the hype.

We left quite disappointed, we had high expectations following on from lots of reviews and somewhere we always wanted to try. I had steak tartare which was ok. It wasn’t bad but I would say it was average. I followed up with the beef wellington which the pastry on the outside was burnt and the inside was undercooked. The beef tasted like boiled meat with zero flavour priced at £65 i was not blown away by it, the presentation of the plate whoever cut it cut it one side bigger than the other so it was lopsided which you could clearly see. The best thing about the entire meal was the seasoned fries. My partner had the fillet steak and he said it was good but not the best steak he ever had or any different than some of the restaurants that we have been too he said that the steak was unseasoned this seemed to be a common problem with all the food lacked flavour. The restaurant itself is stunning but it does feel from the menu to the atmosphere like you are in a time warp and you’ve transported back 10-20years. Couldn’t fault the staff apart from seemed to be lacking communication between floor to bar and we had to ask a few times for drinks and champagne after they had been misplaced or forgotten. I think the Savoy Grill is more about the name and location now more than the food, which is a shame.

Besides the food being very tasty the service we received from Joy was excellent! Attentive but not intrusive - which is very much appreciated. Although not used to this class of dining we were made to feel comfortable and "at home". A most enjoyable celebration ... thank you.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. It was exactly that for us, an experience, and one we shall not forget. The staff were all attentive and personable, it was amazing to hear stories of the Savoy grill from Thierry. All the staff made us feel like a priority. The sommelier was so passionate, informative and full of personality, he recommended a Quinta das carvalhas port with our dessert, it was exceptional. For our mains we both had the beef Wellington which was cooked to perfection. Our only very slight criticism was the bread was a little bit chewy for us. We will certainly return in the future.

To start out my wife made reservations for us as it was my birthday and I’m a big fan or Gordon Ramsey. She knew that I wanted to try his Beef Wellington which I have made his recipe many times which much success. We were greeted as our server welcomed us to our table and my wife again mentioned about my birthday which our server ackknowledged. We ordered our meals and sat back for a wonderul dinner. Well everything was great until the Beef Wellington came to my seat. The crust on the Wellington was soagy not crispy and the sauce was extremely salty. My Beef Wellington actually tasted better than the restaurants. I did not want to make a fuss as I did not want to dissapoint my wife as she took me here specifically or the wellington. As we were finishing dinner the table next to us had their server briing a birthday card and dessert for their daughter and we thought that was a nice touch, but to our surprise the ony thing I was giving was the bill. My wife was livid and called our server over and mentioned about the other table aand nothing at our table. Our server walked away and in 1 minute dropped a dessert in front of me with no apologies. It was too late for us. As we left my wife called over the maitre d’ and explained her complaint. He basically said he will note it and seemed to not care as to what she was explaining. NEVER will I go back or recomend the Savoy Grill in London. Gordon, it was not up to your standards. On a scale of 1 to 10 we give it a 5. Anthony P.

We had a Virgin Experience voucher that was given to us as a gift - a 3 course lunch for two. The food was delicious and we enjoyed each of the courses, however the service charge added to our bill was very expensive. I appreciate that we received a brilliant service however we did not expect to pay an additional £60 on top of the 3 course meal voucher for two glasses of wine and 1 portion of chips. A £25 service charge is crazy and put a dampener on the overall experience.

An absolute treat and as luxurious as you would expect! Every member of staff were so attentive and professional which really added to the experience, customer service at another level. We checked in our jackets and shopping and were escorted to our table which was a sort of semi booth. We were dining from the set menu but paid the supplement for the beef wellington which was worth every penny - the beef melted in your mouth and the flavour was amazing. Everything we ordered was so tasty, even down to the bread and the dark butter. Drinks were exceptional with an extensive wine list. Very expensive but worth it, such an experience.

If you eat French food in London, this Michelin-starred restaurant will definitely not disappoint you. The restaurant is located on the G floor of the Savory Hotel on the Strand. The environment is elegant and comfortable. The POST-THEATRE MENU set menu is particularly recommended. You can taste all the classic dishes of this restaurant, especially the Wellington steak. The meat is soft and delicate, and the aroma is full of flavor. The best steak wellington I've ever had.

I went last night to the Savoy Grill for dinner. The welcome was overwhelming. The table nicely placed at the side. The first course I had the duck pate and my brother Mr Paul Samuel the souffle. Both were perfect the taste superb.. In addition we tasted the superb bread with freshly whipped butter- amazing. Our main course was the cote de boeuf- the meat was so tasty and moist and the flavour stupendous. The fries were so delicious and the spinach creamy. We completed our meal with the tarte tatin which was beautifully crispy and full of succulent flavour. Overall the service and food were of a standard which beggars belief. The best meal I have ever tasted and the greatest service one could ever experience. My compliments to Gordon Ramsay. This is a mean achievement. His crowning glory. I defy anyone not to concur with me on this. If u can - try and book for this glorious restaurant and spend an evening on luxury which you will remember for the rest of your life.

We arrived 6 people to the Savoy Grill. It was a great experience, so fun, food was devine, service was impeccable. We were always served at once, quality was amazing. All the dishes were great. The Arnold Souffle was divine, so was the Wellington. Even if the chicken was such a delight. All of the deserts were perfectly sweet, and well portioned. Price was on the higher side but still worth it. We had a great time, and we would come back next time we are in the city. P.S go and use the bathroom, it's a must.

Mess up with our booking on arrival. Refused to serve us untill we could produce paperwork, unfortunately we couldn't get any internet connection to find the email. Eventually we were served, we both struggled to find a starter we liked as the choice was so limited on the set menu. The GR grill is very much the training ground for the inexperienced waiting staff; there was no ambience the decor is starting to look shabby. I would describe it as a conveyor belt experience.

We visited the Savoy Grill to celebrate our upcoming wedding and were quite disappointed with the experience. While the staff were pleasant enough, there was no acknowledgment of our special occasion, despite mentioning it in our booking and recalled back to me during the confirmation call, we were expecting at least a mention on the night. The atmosphere was subdued, and the seating arrangement—sitting side by side in the middle of the room—felt impersonal and not conducive to a romantic evening. Wearing a dress, I felt uncomfortable and exposed, definitely opt for trousers if you’re sitting in the two seater booths. Although the food was good, we found it overpriced. For example, the £65 beef wellington, which might be an iconic Ramsay recipe, is so overhyped and came with just a solitary mushroom, which didn't justify the high cost. The cocktails were average and pricey compared to other places offering similar drinks for much less. There were numerous staff on duty, yet the service felt very sales-pushing and aggressive at times. We were asked about wine a dozen times throughout the meal, which was off-putting. It was clear they just wanted the menu back. The whole experience was over in just over an hour, for a special occasion we felt rushed, and also by this point we just wanted to leave too. The decor was also bland and lacked personality, failing to live up to the grandeur one might expect from such a renowned establishment. Overall, there wasn't much to enjoy about our visit. If you're considering dining here, perhaps opt for their renowned afternoon tea instead and give the dinner a miss.

We visited London from the States and celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Savoy Grill. As a huge fan of Chef Ramsay, from the beginning to end, it was perfect to me. Husband had the ribeye and barbecue hispi canbage. I had the famous beef welly and pomme purée . Both were excellent and everything I’d howl they would be. Shared dessert was the decadent Xoco Mayan Chocolate Soufflé with Pistachio Ice Cream. Savoy staff pleasantly surprised us with a delicious mini chocolate mousse, with a Happy Anniversary chocolate ribbon. We couldn’t have had a happier dinner experience. Thank you, Savoy!
