Savoy Grill – A Timeless Culinary Experience Dining at Savoy Grill was an extraordinary experience, combining classic elegance with exceptional cuisine. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet inviting, and the service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and warm from start to finish. We enjoyed an incredible selection of dishes, starting with oysters, which were wonderfully fresh and briny, and lobster, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The Dover sole was expertly prepared, delicate, and full of rich, buttery goodness. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Beef Wellington—a true masterpiece, with tender, perfectly cooked beef wrapped in a golden, flaky pastry. Every dish reflected the restaurant’s dedication to top-quality ingredients and impeccable culinary techniques. Savoy Grill is a true icon of fine dining, and we can’t wait to return for another unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a classic yet exceptional meal in London!

Selected Gordon Ramsay at the Savoy Grill for my Birthday meal based on previous enjoyment at a London institution. Soufflé Arnold Bennett was very enjoyable, would’ve appreciated more haddock. Veloute also very enjoyable accompanied by sourdough bread to help take care of any residual sauce. All 3 family members enjoyed their Beef Wellington - served medium rare worked very well for me. Red chocolate soufflé dessert was good although not as well presented as the soufflé Arnold Bennett. Joy took care of us overall and even sang happy birthday and presented a small birthday plate and card which was very much appreciated. Thank you for looking after us. We’d also enjoyed dinner drink in the American bowl which was buzzing again. We were well looked after by Rachael.

We thought it was just okay and if anything, it was overrated and overpriced for what it was. We also did not enjoy having to face other diners (odd seating arrangements). We had asked for a sherry to start with, but were told this was no longer on the shelves.

As ever a delight to be in familiar place, having the set menu of the evening what a good selection, the stand out course was the Arnold Bennett Souffle one of the best courses for a long and has been on the menu for several years washed down with a half bottle of Chablis. Always relaxed not rushed but made to feel special.

The food was good, I would highlight the Beef Wellington and the Tarte Tatin in particular. However the duck confit was awful, smallest confit duck leg ever seen by me and dry and overcooked. The sides were good, especially the mashed potatoes and the mushrooms. The wine is an egregious ripoff, a scandal. Some examples- Lynch Bages 2009 wine list price £1350 plus service, This bottle is on sale at Berry Brothers at £113 plus duty. Gran Reserva 890 Rioja Alta 2004, Savoy Grill wine list price £1250 plus service, this bottle is on sale at Lay & Wheeler at £98 per bottle. Chateau d’Yquem 2007 is on the list at £995 plus service, this is on sale at £103 at Laithwaites. Domaine de Lambrays 2016 is on the list at £1300 plus service, available at £208 from Berry Brothers. And so on, these markups of up to 1000% plus are the most greedy in London. The kind of markups you get in Russian nightclubs except they at least have entertainment. Turning my attention to the cheaper wines by the glass, these are incredibly disappointing, supermarket wines at best, no hidden gems, lack of a sense of terroir, bland and mediocre. One question for Mr Ramsay- surely you would make more money by having sensible markups on the wine. As it is, many people are deterred from ordering wine, which spoils the occasion and deprives you of income overall.

Took my parents and partner to celebrate a 80th birthday… Wine way too expensive. Cheapest bottle £60.. ridiculous for a Pinot Grigio! Starters were tiny.. £8.50 for a side portion of fries to go with the £65 Steak… You are literally charged for everything. If you ordered the steak, that all you get.. and a plate. All very underwhelming and absolutely so atmosphere in the restaurant. Our table was booked at 2130 and by 2300 felt we were being hurried to get finish and leave. Staff making up tables around us for the next day…. Total cost for meal £649 and that is without a dessert.

Service was amazing. They have their eyes and ears everywhere to make sure you’re well taken care of. The food, otherwise, was a disappointment. Truffle overpowered the steak tartare, also overpowered the beef Wellington. Still can taste it in my mouth. Couldn’t even enjoy the risotto. Oh well! You pay for the service, not the food as others have mentioned.

I just visited Petrus two days ago before going to this restaurant. I am a big fan of Gordon Ramsay. After visiting a Michelin-starred restaurant a few days ago, I went to eat at another of his restaurants by myself. But if I had to choose again, I would never come. I couldn’t believe that the Beef Wellington I was craving for was not delicious. At least the one I had in this restaurant was really salty. The puff pastry and meat were already separated from each other when it was served. It was completely different from what Gordon did in the show or YouTube videos. The waiter poured the sauce directly on the middle of the steak, making it impossible to choose whether it was salty or not. I think this part is not good. The sauce should be poured on the side so that it can stick to it. People who need it can dip it. Not everyone has such a strong taste and eats it so salty. The salmon as an appetizer was delicious, and it was paired with the dipping sauce on the side. The seasoning was unique and it was a great dish. I don't think the tableside service is very good. When I finish eating the bread, I don't immediately wipe off the crumbs on the table and then serve the next dish. The table is very dirty and the next dish should not be served under such circumstances. Finally shaved it off before eating dessert. I think many Western restaurants in Taiwan do better than them in this aspect alone. I ate the dessert part inside. It looked like something rolled up with paper fiber and I told the waiter. At first he said it was their chef's special dessert. But I used a glass of water on the table to spit out what I had eaten and washed it down. I found that it was really paper fiber. The light was dim and I couldn't take a clear picture. After the waiter took the thing away, he deducted the money for the dessert. But this was not what I wanted. I just hope that the next Gordon Ramsay fan will not come here and eat something strange in the dessert. Because I know how disappointing it feels. I asked him to add the money for the dessert back to the bill several times, but the waiter refused. This experience made me feel very uncomfortable. The waiter made me feel as if I came here deliberately to cause trouble. I think I will go to other restaurants in Gordon, but I will definitely not come here again.

The welcoming is appropriate for a place like the Savoy, All the waiters were very attentive and professional. The starter was miserable, a very thin slice of smoked salmon with one leaf of salad. It is completely miserable, not expecting a huge portion but expecting the minimum accepable. It took us a while to receive the main dish, which was good ( the quarter of sea bream ) small pprtion but acceptable for the place and quality. The dish was well prepared and done with a refined taste. Really enjoyed the combination of the artichokes crispy and pure with the raisins. The desert was average, nothing waw for the place and price paid. Was a slice of cheese with some Portuguese Jam and some hard thin slices of gingerbread. Basically, the starter was miserable, the main dish was good, and I will say 4 stars and the desert a normal desert from a good restaurant, nothing else. The atmosphere needs to be refined, has it doesn't look like what you expect from a Savoy restaurant. The toilets were nice a clean by the way.

We had a birthday celebration dinner last year. The meal was ok, pleased we tried it but probably would not return. The restaurant has a nice vibe. I was just slightly underwhelmed by the menu and also choice of wine by the glass. There was a good choice of wine at the Savoy hotel bars, but you are not allowed to take drinks from there into the restaurant. So I ended up not having a drink with my meal. The main waiter who served seemed disinterested and not particularly warm or friendly. Also, they knew it was my birthday but didn’t acknowledge at all. All things considered, I would not go back.

Overall, the atmosphere was suitable for a 5-star hotel, and the staff's service was good and friendly. All courses were delicious, and most of all, the Beef Wellington was more delicious than expected. The portion was larger than expected and I was not in a good condition, so I had a little bit of Beef Wellington left over, but the food itself tasted great. It was worth a visit and a valuable experience during my trip to London. I gave the food 4 stars, but it wasn't about the taste, it was about expressing my regret that I wasn't able to eat it all due to my health. If I visit London again in the future, I plan to visit again, and I will definitely take care of my health so that I can eat all the food.

Average food for a ridiculously high price tag. Not really enjoyable, felt judged the moment we walked in. The main was embarrassing. I learned from our waiter that they were experimenting with the menu (prix fixe set lunch), so the arancini was just recently added to it. The starter was decent (smoked salmon), but the star of the show was definitely the dessert. Overall, not sure if I would come again. But I guess with places like these, you pay for the service (which was lovely) and not the quality of the food. Thank you to the team at Savoy Grill for taking care of us, but I just wish the food was more enjoyable.

Anyway, we were shown where the restaurant was and then our coats were taken and we were guided to our table. The waiters were very good and professional. The food outstanding, I had purchased the lunch as a gift for my friends 40th birthday just under a year ago and decided to go in Jan so we did a joint celebration as it was my birthday. The smell in the lobby did not affect the restaurant. The beef wellington has an extra charge on it and you do get charged a service charge but i didn’t mind as the service was great anyway.

I liked everything at Savoy Grill. We ordered sirloin Wellington and a Sole Meunier, both of which were incredible. The exceptional sirloin. And the sole is super creamy and has an incredible buttery flavor. Mashed potatoes, broccoli and lettuce are three essential side-Plates. No dessert since we didn't want to gain weight... hahahaha 9.0 place, the very friendly waiter showed us the kitchen and we greeted all the cooks. There would be more than 15 people inside that kitchen that shined clean and orderly. A pleasure of food. I don't give it a 10 since the waiters are slow. They have to be prayed for... We ordered two glasses of Ribera from the Torres winery: Más La Plana from 2013, excellent. Of course...£48 each glass!.... The most expensive wine I have ever drunk. If you are hesitating whether to go or not, don't stop doing it. It's not cheap but it's well worth it. £350 for two.

What an absolutely fabulous meal and service at lunch (11.01.25.) From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble, our train was delayed and they pushed our reservation back. Nico & team were pleasant and friendly but not intrusive. Where do I begin on the food & drinks the best we have all had. We all had a cocktail I can highly recommend the Savoy Grill Renaissance, I usually drink French Martini but this was a step up. We also order drinks not on the menu which was no problem. We had a French 75 it was delightfully fresh. We chose the a la carte menu and it did not disappoint. The sourdough and marmite butter blended effortless together with a toffee type taste. Our starters of steak tartare, the butternut squash veloute (mine) was so smooth, favour full especially with the mushrooms & apple pieces. Friends had steak tartare, salmon but the show stopper was the soufle that never collapsed, faulted in its consistency. For mains we had chateaubriand which was amazing! The rub and cooking of the chateaubriand was faultless. Friends had the superb beef wellington cooked to their choosing. The knives glided through the meat. All the sauces and side dishes were complimentary to our mains. We had a break between mains and dessert as we were full, no problem. We were then given a show by Nico on how to make flambé crepes its was great part of the lunch and tasted superb, you were able to taste the favour of the Grand Marnier, the orange came through but not overpowering for my taste. I shared the tart tatin and the apples were something else soft, sweet, and the salted caramel and ice cream was a mouthful of something special. Better than experienced in France. We finished off our trip in the American bar with final cocktails and coffee, I great way to finish an amazing meal. I cannot recommend it enough.

After reading a few reviews I was a bit nervous about booking, but I most certainly shouldn’t have been. The food was absolutely delicious and we left full to the brim. The atmosphere was sophisticated but one which made you feel at ease. The soufflé was a perfect way to start, moving onto the beef wellington which I’ve wanted to try at the savoy for years, and which certainly didn’t disappoint. Sublime. We finished our meal with a smashing tarte tatin to share which was very generously portioned. All in all I would heartily recommend for a special meal, in of course very special surroundings being at the Savoy. As you enter the Savoy you feel like you’re stepping into a wonderful bubble of good food and surroundings. Of course it’s not the cheapest place in London, but I have no qualms about that for a special treat of a meal. All in all a terrific meal.

The food was spectacular! We ordered the braised rabbit croquette and the smoked salmon for starters. Then the signature Beef Wellington for mains and a side of fries each. Surprisingly, we were quite full....it don't look like much but they were very generous on the fries which we appreciated. (Great fries by the way, it has a nice airy crisp to them and didnt feel heavy.) The food was perfect but the service? I'm not so sure. It wasn't bad but we didn't exactly feel welcomed. It seemed as if the staff questioned all our choices. We requested a side of smoked paprika seasoned fires each on the side for our beef wellington. The waiter asked if we are sure about that choice as there is "pomme puree" with the beef wellington. We are aware as we can see on the menu but "pomme puree" which is essentially mash potatoes taste very different to paprika seasoned fries. He might have been genuine but he kind of gave us a pretentious look with that. Also we had a waitress ask us for our drinks order. I wanted a sweet wine, I can tell its sweet because it says in the description. The waitress asked if I'm sure because its a dessert wine. I am also aware but she also seemed to give a pretentious look. Again, they may think they are trying to take care of us but we are aware of the costs and spending the money, it would be nice to not be questioned and get judged about it. The service charge was quite high. We actually opted out of it. The waiter seemed very surprised. We don't mind paying the service charge but we actually think they did the bare minimum. If we weren't questioned then we probably would have considered paying half.

food Main course of signature Beef Wellington and Pan-fried Cod with Spinach Wraps The steak is so tender that even a non-steak eater like me would want to take another bite. The mushroom sandwich with puff pastry and filling makes me want to eat another roll just by asking. The cod and spinach rolls are just average. The price is higher than the steak. They taste very ordinary and have no special features. For appetizers, I ordered pumpkin soup and cold cuts of smoked salmon. The thick soup is very sour. I personally don’t like it. Cold cut salmon was average Not as good as the cold smoked salmon at Pineapple Market I chose apple pie for dessert because the portions are quite large. There were so many desserts that I almost couldn’t eat them all, but to be honest, they were still delicious. The ingredients are very practical and very sweet and delicious. An impressive menu that impressed everyone with its creativity, quality and perfect craftsmanship! • Appetizer (teriyaki-glazed pork knuckle and foie gras terrine) The combination of tender braised pork knuckle with a sweet and spicy teriyaki glaze and the rich, velvety foie gras terrine was simply sublime. The flavors harmonized perfectly and the sophisticated presentation made this appetizer a real highlight. • Main course (Beef Wellington with side dishes) The Beef Wellington was a masterpiece: golden brown and crispy on the outside, perfectly tender and pink on the inside. The side dishes, especially the creamy potato component and the caramelized chicory, rounded off the dish perfectly. The sauce was intense and full of flavor – a successful main course that lived up to the highest standards. • Dessert (truffle ice cream in a waffle cone) A truly extraordinary conclusion! The truffle ice cream was incredibly creamy and had a subtle, subtle truffle note that harmonized perfectly with the delicate waffle. A bold yet elegant combination that left a lasting impression. This menu was a thoroughly successful experience, impressing with its perfectly balanced flavors and impeccable presentation. Absolute recommendation! Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour for our table, which unfortunately dampened the anticipation somewhat at the beginning. Conclusion: An absolute culinary highlight, but the service should be optimized when organizing reservations.

I bought vouchers on the website for the grill tasting experience. I paid what they charged. The earliest table available was 9pm, but it wasn’t ready so sent to the American Bar to wait which was no problem. We were informed 25 minutes later the table would be ready in another 5-10 minutes. We specifically asked whether that translated to get another drink or realistically wait for wine at the table. No, get another cocktail. 10 seconds later the table is ready. Ok. No sign of anyone bringing the drinks up and then downstairs for us despite the table now being 30 minutes late. The wine list is ridiculous. It’s either £65-90 a bottle or £1000s a bottle. Mid range doesn’t exist. Food was nice, nothing great but not bad. Service was polite but dismissive - had to pour our own wine and they gave up after the first glass of tap water. The kicker was the bill. The set menu for which I bought vouchers, from them, was apparently £10pp more expensive. When I asked why, I was told, maybe it’s because it’s Christmas. I bought these vouchers direct from the Savoy/Ramsay. I paid what they charge. I bought them as a present for my sister. They clearly didn’t expect the purchaser to be a guest. To add extra for unsuspecting guests purely because their meal is prepaid is outrageous. With the 15% service charge, the extra, unexplained charge, donations etc a present becomes quite expensive. This place is clearly catering for tourists and residents of the hotel that hopefully have more money than sense. Such a shame that Ramsay’s in Hospital Road is so good but apparently he’ll put his name to any tripe these days.

I am disappointed with this restaurant. Although the atmosphere and location is outstanding, I think this restaurant is part of a wider trend where the owner believes that it is enough to have a designer for your venue and some standardised gourmet dishes to be successful. I have 0 reasons to go back there. The food was OK, but servings were ridiculously small (even for gourmet standards…), and the taste was not unique. Prices as expected very high. Additionally the manager did not even help my wife to wear the coat after brining it from the cloakroom. I have been eating at luxury restaurants since I was born, I am not convinced about this. Of course this is just my personal experience.

My husband and I had the Festive afternoon tea at the Gallery , Savoy Hotel and what a wonderful experience it was . From entering the building one was greeted and guided through to our seats where the server for our experience was Sia. She really could not do enough for us. She explained the menus and drinks . We had the vegetarian menu and champagne . In the background we were entertained by the pianist and Christmas songs from the singer . The staff also brought over a cake to celebrate my birthday ! 5 star+ experience , fabulous food ,drink and ambiance .We would highly recommend a visit.

A lovely festive tea. We had dreadful issues getting to The Savoy with nightmares on the tube and were 45 mins late. We rang to tell them and staff were wonderful- kept our table for us and were not rushed at all to get through our tea Big thank you to the staff for that. Service was excellent from Guiseppe- explained everything and very attentive..Got a second helping of sandwiches for no extra cost. Delicious. Especially liked the egg brioche. Lemon curd was also a winner with the scone ! Also very happy for us to take home the cakes we couldn't finish in beautiful box. Our table was lovely- round and in the corner. Savoy beautifullly decorated and a wonderful Christmas treat. In my view the refurbishment is fantastic. Absolutely love The Savoy - our go to place for special occasions.

Absolutely bitterly disappointed I went to claridges two weeks ago and really wish I had booked to go back there. This was a special treat for my Neices 40th birthday and we left underwhelmed. The staff at claridges were much more attentive and to be honest the quality of the afternoon tea far superior. We asked for more sandwiches for three of us and we’re given four sandwiches to share out. I asked about a taxi and got no answer I also said we had to get a train could we have a carrier bag to put the take home cake box in didn’t get one, didn’t have to ask twice at Claridges. Also the bill was put down didn’t even get chance to look at it when the card machine was thrust upon me, very rude. Sorry Savoy you need to raise the bar. Overall a dissatisfied expensive experience !!!

Confusion with our reservation due to common last name however Amna helped us and waited over her shift a little bit to ensure we were properly seated. Francesca our server was amazing. Even the training server who brought over our tea from Spain was amazing. Food never disappoints. Overall as always amazing time. Well worth the money.

Lovely place to enjoy a special family occasion. We opted for high tea. Fabulous food, and ambience was lovely; pianist excellent. Surroundings and Christmas decorations were absolutely gorgeous! The women at the reception desk were warm, friendly and welcoming! However, the cloakroom was very disorganised, people getting changed there, changing their shoes, brushing their hair etc, long wait to check our coats and then again to collect them. My champagne glass was dirty, which was changed swiftly by our waiter. There wasn't an acknowledgement of my daughter's 30th birthday, which was disappointing, and we waited 20 minutes for our second pot of tea. Overall, very enjoyable but I expected a better service for the price. I would still recommend it as a lovely, memorable experience.

Festive tea- nothing really festive about this tea, before refurb the ambience was lovely, now very corporate. Last year, carol singers and a lovely Christmas vibe, this year no carols, crackers or festive cheer. Left to stand at reception until exact time of booking despite our table being empty! Only 5 chairs and tricky for elderly relatives. £600 for a high tea over within 90 minutes, not worth it.

Decor in Savoy over Christmas alone is worth the experience - but food was amazing, and beautifully presented. We had the festive high tea and kids loved the Christmas themed food. Service was a bit slow at times as it was incredibly busy. But overall a wonderful experience of afternoon tea - and the food was delicious. Well worth the somewhat exorbitant price for a very special experience.

My daughter and I were in London for the weekend and We went to the gallery for a little Christmas treat. The lobby decor is lovely. Our waitress was lovely, the food was less than average, the bread was cold like it has been in the fridge, lobster rolls were ok, not well seasoned, the pizza was terrible , the chicken Cobb salad was unremarkable with freezing hard chicken. Dessert was nice. I asked for an American to finish and got a pot of horrible tasting pour over or filter coffee and as a Coffee lover could not believe that was produced to me. As i said the waitress was lovely but this was an overpriced terrible food experience.

But we were reminded about 20 times from the time we sat down. We were Very aware from the first time being told. But when the bill is over 800£ i’d expect a more chill environment regarding that. Otherwise everything and everyone was lovely and I would HIGHLY recommend going to the Savoy for everything they offer. ❤️

Seated 20 minutes after our time no apology. Food is good but when you are paying £95 for four finger sandwiches, 4 small cakes, 2 scones & a mini mince pie then it needs to be. We had the high tea and found both the scallops and duck dishes were very good. The venue is fantastic however what was very disappointing was the service, being the The Savoy I expected top notch service, unfortunately it was far from it, we were never offered water for the table, we were never asked whether everything was ok, never asked if we wanted more drinks, dirty tea pots were left sitting on the table, we had to ask for teaspoons and cutlery, it took 30 mins for the patties to arrive after the warm food, we still had pastries left when we were told our time was up! The. cost for 3 people was £452 including service charge.

I love the savoy but am trying to be honest as it’s a new restaurant. The staff are amazing here, can not fault! Very attentive and helpful. The one thing that let it down was the fact that the menu is not explained well and is not self explanatory, some items are enough for one. Others are meant to share but you arnt to know this looking at the menu. The tikka pie tastes amazing but only comes along as a single giant pie enough for 3 people with some peeled raw carrot and cucumber, whilst the burger on same ‘big plate’ section was just a regular sized burger with chips for one. The Mac and cheese was very nice, but again enough to share between 2 or 3 despite being on the peckish/grazing menu which we took as smaller dishes and were told could act as starters.. The pizza was a normal sized pizza however was not my favorite, didn’t taste amazing considering the establishment. The Mille feuille desert finally had (serves 2) in brackets which helped, however it would have easily served 3 and I think would be better with chocolate glaze instead of a stick of hard chocolate on top as it is as it’s a lot of the same flavour else. The decor is beautifully done and it has a lovely atmosphere, it just wasn’t clear as to what you were ordering or how the menu was supposed to be similar to tapas and shared, and there was little indication as to how big or small things were, items are separated into ‘pekish’ ‘grazing’ and ‘big plates’ however after ordering items from each I have no clue what the difference was meant to be, and it isn’t clear when reading menu. Some simple explanations on menu would be very helpful !! Otherwise a lovely place.

Celebrated my daughters 18th with family and friends. The venue was perfect (decorated fabulously by @360legends), with a professional team and first class service. From booking the venue, to answering queries, to service on the evening I can not fault Dave or his team. The security, the bar staff and Dave himself were attentive and professional. Great food (we had the BBQ), great drinks, and a brilliant playlist (although that was my daughters doing!). We will definitely be back.

Made a reservation, arrived just before on time, was standing for 5/10 minutes before even asked a question, first thing the lady asked was do you have a reservation (yes) and the name, she left came back and asked for the name again. Then once seated we presented a ongoing deal which they were offering, the lady then tried to point out several terms that would void us of the promotion however I clearly showed how it was valid and she conceded. They then brought the meat out in abundance for around 20/30 minutes then slowly. Then it stopped. The butcher had came out served the newly sat table next to me and then didn’t offer me any. After a couple times of the butcher coming out and not serving me, I thought he must be just accommodating new guests that have arrived as we had already been served previously, but I saw him walk back into the kitchen with the barbecued meats after serving the new guests. The waitress then came up to me saying can she take my plate, either because I wasn’t eating (because they hadn’t served me food) or because they no longer wanted to serve me. I got a few more items from the bar and then asked for the bill. The bill never came so quick. After I had paid the lady said can you leave please as there’s people waiting not even 5 seconds after Paying the bill and eating a buffet do you then want me to stand up and leave. I realised that they were not serving me food because they wanted to free up my table to serve the next customers who had been waiting standing, bear in mind I booked a reservation and had not been inside for an hour. Terrible customer service and they try cover it up by asking you every 5/10 minutes ‘is everything ok’. Everything is ok after the 4th time you’ve asked me. This is my 5/6th time in Preto and todays customer service has left me with a displeased service. The lady in question is dark skinned, Spanish speaking, Dominican sounding, chubby. This was also my friends first time attending after I told them we should go here.
