Can't go wrong with this London classic, Mr Ramsay has perfected the Wellington! Sides, often overlooked by many were not here, they were equally as delicious as the mains! Pricey but well worth every penny, food is excellent and service was amazing!

I am disappointed with this restaurant. Although the atmosphere and location is outstanding, I think this restaurant is part of a wider trend where the owner believes that it is enough to have a designer for your venue and some standardised gourmet dishes to be successful. I have 0 reasons to go back there. The food was OK, but servings were ridiculously small (even for gourmet standards…), and the taste was not unique. Prices as expected very high. Additionally the manager did not even help my wife to wear the coat after brining it from the cloakroom. I have been eating at luxury restaurants since I was born, I am not convinced about this. Of course this is just my personal experience.

My husband and I had the Festive afternoon tea at the Gallery , Savoy Hotel and what a wonderful experience it was . From entering the building one was greeted and guided through to our seats where the server for our experience was Sia. She really could not do enough for us. She explained the menus and drinks . We had the vegetarian menu and champagne . In the background we were entertained by the pianist and Christmas songs from the singer . The staff also brought over a cake to celebrate my birthday ! 5 star+ experience , fabulous food ,drink and ambiance .We would highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely bitterly disappointed I went to claridges two weeks ago and really wish I had booked to go back there. This was a special treat for my Neices 40th birthday and we left underwhelmed. The staff at claridges were much more attentive and to be honest the quality of the afternoon tea far superior. We asked for more sandwiches for three of us and we’re given four sandwiches to share out. I asked about a taxi and got no answer I also said we had to get a train could we have a carrier bag to put the take home cake box in didn’t get one, didn’t have to ask twice at Claridges. Also the bill was put down didn’t even get chance to look at it when the card machine was thrust upon me, very rude. Sorry Savoy you need to raise the bar. Overall a dissatisfied expensive experience !!!

A lovely festive tea. We had dreadful issues getting to The Savoy with nightmares on the tube and were 45 mins late. We rang to tell them and staff were wonderful- kept our table for us and were not rushed at all to get through our tea Big thank you to the staff for that. Service was excellent from Guiseppe- explained everything and very attentive..Got a second helping of sandwiches for no extra cost. Delicious. Especially liked the egg brioche. Lemon curd was also a winner with the scone ! Also very happy for us to take home the cakes we couldn't finish in beautiful box. Our table was lovely- round and in the corner. Savoy beautifullly decorated and a wonderful Christmas treat. In my view the refurbishment is fantastic. Absolutely love The Savoy - our go to place for special occasions.

Lovely place to enjoy a special family occasion. We opted for high tea. Fabulous food, and ambience was lovely; pianist excellent. Surroundings and Christmas decorations were absolutely gorgeous! The women at the reception desk were warm, friendly and welcoming! However, the cloakroom was very disorganised, people getting changed there, changing their shoes, brushing their hair etc, long wait to check our coats and then again to collect them. My champagne glass was dirty, which was changed swiftly by our waiter. There wasn't an acknowledgement of my daughter's 30th birthday, which was disappointing, and we waited 20 minutes for our second pot of tea. Overall, very enjoyable but I expected a better service for the price. I would still recommend it as a lovely, memorable experience.

Festive tea- nothing really festive about this tea, before refurb the ambience was lovely, now very corporate. Last year, carol singers and a lovely Christmas vibe, this year no carols, crackers or festive cheer. Left to stand at reception until exact time of booking despite our table being empty! Only 5 chairs and tricky for elderly relatives. £600 for a high tea over within 90 minutes, not worth it.

My daughter and I were in London for the weekend and We went to the gallery for a little Christmas treat. The lobby decor is lovely. Our waitress was lovely, the food was less than average, the bread was cold like it has been in the fridge, lobster rolls were ok, not well seasoned, the pizza was terrible , the chicken Cobb salad was unremarkable with freezing hard chicken. Dessert was nice. I asked for an American to finish and got a pot of horrible tasting pour over or filter coffee and as a Coffee lover could not believe that was produced to me. As i said the waitress was lovely but this was an overpriced terrible food experience.

Seated 20 minutes after our time no apology. Food is good but when you are paying £95 for four finger sandwiches, 4 small cakes, 2 scones & a mini mince pie then it needs to be. We had the high tea and found both the scallops and duck dishes were very good. The venue is fantastic however what was very disappointing was the service, being the The Savoy I expected top notch service, unfortunately it was far from it, we were never offered water for the table, we were never asked whether everything was ok, never asked if we wanted more drinks, dirty tea pots were left sitting on the table, we had to ask for teaspoons and cutlery, it took 30 mins for the patties to arrive after the warm food, we still had pastries left when we were told our time was up! The. cost for 3 people was £452 including service charge.

I love the savoy but am trying to be honest as it’s a new restaurant. The staff are amazing here, can not fault! Very attentive and helpful. The one thing that let it down was the fact that the menu is not explained well and is not self explanatory, some items are enough for one. Others are meant to share but you arnt to know this looking at the menu. The tikka pie tastes amazing but only comes along as a single giant pie enough for 3 people with some peeled raw carrot and cucumber, whilst the burger on same ‘big plate’ section was just a regular sized burger with chips for one. The Mac and cheese was very nice, but again enough to share between 2 or 3 despite being on the peckish/grazing menu which we took as smaller dishes and were told could act as starters.. The pizza was a normal sized pizza however was not my favorite, didn’t taste amazing considering the establishment. The Mille feuille desert finally had (serves 2) in brackets which helped, however it would have easily served 3 and I think would be better with chocolate glaze instead of a stick of hard chocolate on top as it is as it’s a lot of the same flavour else. The decor is beautifully done and it has a lovely atmosphere, it just wasn’t clear as to what you were ordering or how the menu was supposed to be similar to tapas and shared, and there was little indication as to how big or small things were, items are separated into ‘pekish’ ‘grazing’ and ‘big plates’ however after ordering items from each I have no clue what the difference was meant to be, and it isn’t clear when reading menu. Some simple explanations on menu would be very helpful !! Otherwise a lovely place.

Afternoon tea at the newly opened Gallery was excellent. Francesca looked after us superbly explaining what everything was and what our choices were. Various packages range from the afternoon tea to other Les such as adding champagne and some main meals in the middle. There’s even a vegetarian choice. Service as I’ve said was outstanding. For tea lovers there are 3 pages of teas from black to green and fruit varieties. All served on Savoy Gallery plates echoing the lantern roof in the middle of the room. Sandwiches and savoury treats are first and the sweet offering of deliciously rich chocolate, scones, festive mince pies and cream, jam and lemon curd. Tea topped up all through listening to the lovely pianist. In the evenings there is often a singer.

The soup that we took as starter was too sweety and you cant even taste mushrooms. Beef wellington was not a beef wellington, they changed the covering part with mushroom-chicken pate which was disgusting. Beef was good but if we wanted to eat only beef we did not eat this waste. Christmas puding was bad. Only one good thing was souffle, it was tasty. Service waiters were kind and good, however water glass they bring to the table was dirty, we asked them to change it this time they brought another less dirty ne glass which i let it go. I never been there this was the first time. Maybe it was a good restaurant in the past but it does not worth right now.

Unfortunately I can only agree with the previous reviews. It is absolutely overrated. The Beef Wellington only tasted like truffles and not in a good way. The taste of the mashed potatoes was ok, but the consistency was bad. It appears to have been made with a wand rather than stamped - a huge paste. The spinach was hard and not seasoned. Without the delicious Rabitroll I would award even fewer points. And the staff did NOT ask if and how you liked it. Very unfortunate and very disappointing. Addendum - a day later we were at 45 Jermyn St. Here the beef Wellington, potatoes and vegetables were great.

The Thames Foyer at the Savoy no longer exists which is a shame as we have spent many happy hours there over the past 11 years and on over thirty separate occasions. Now The Gallery has replaced it which we are told has been many months in planning and execution. It looks superficially very stunning, light and bright with comfortable chairs, however the tables are much smaller as are the plates. You are now sat incredibly close to other guests and, as a result of this, your conversations are no longer private. This was previously never a problem and privacy was one thing you were guaranteed at the Thames Foyer. Overall it is noisier too. There are more tables and fewer staff who are working incredibly hard to serve you, but all they can actually do is bring food and drink to the tables. For the first time we were expected to pour our own tea rather than be served, this would have been ok if the teapots actually poured but none did and every time we filled our cups we risked scalding ourselves with hot fluids. As it is, the tablecloth became soaked. The sandwiches were delicious, the breads were soft and fresh and interesting. Tasty fillings and also different savoury bites made this course absolutely fantastic. They were very generous with refills too. The scones have not changed, nor has the jam, curd and cream options. The pastries were very similar to any you get at this type of afternoon tea and overall quite bland but pretty enough. The Savoy is not one of the easiest locations to get to. Now all its previous unique service for afternoon tea is no longer on offer customers can choose to go anywhere else for an identical afternoon tea experience across London at a similar price point. A lot will come down to personal preference but I do not think overall that the Savoy’s refurbishment has been worth waiting for and I am not in a hurry to return. This is a shame as the staff are lovely and willing to serve, they just no longer have the opportunity to do this.

The new gallery is beautiful but they have massively increased the number of tables and they are now incredibly close together so you can hear everything people are talking about on the tables next to you which makes it a little uncomfortable. Also the new table arrangement means someone is facing a wall whilst the other gets to enjoy the beautiful decor of the room. Previously tables were spaced out and everyone on the table got a decent view with how tables were angled. The food however remains impeccable. It was my wife’s birthday so we went to the Savoy Grill for lunch to celebrate. Nearing Christmas there were beautiful decorations in the Savoy lobby. We were greeted and coats taken, showed to our table and served drinks. Having ordered our starter and main, we enjoyed the atmosphere Given bread and some butter, we didn’t wait too long for our first course. Delicious of course, our drinks were topped up regularly. Mains were so yummy we both finished everything and looked forward to our deserts. All our food was presented in good time, looked amazing and was very delicious. My wife was presented with a chocolate wishing her a happy birthday. Being a fan of Gordon Ramsay, my wife asked to see the kitchen and we were shown around. The new layout is lovely, my only concern is the tables are not as spacious as they were previously and the gap between tables isn’t too big, it would be nice to have a little more room as previously (before renovations) I believe the table size and space around was one of the best things about the gallery. We have been going to the savoy for the last 10 years, formerly known the Thames foyer around May time for our wedding anniversary. It has now been rebranded to the gallery. The overall look is nice as we weren’t able to go in May this we booked in for December. The menu was more festive based on the time of year and if I’m honest I didn’t really enjoy any of the cakes compared to previous but I’m not sure if this is given it the festive season. Sandwiches and teas were perfect as usual. The scones normally come wrapped in a cloth to keep them warm that had changed this year and so went cold. The seating arrangement was okay but I noted there is less two spaces so there’s less privacy and due to demand again perhaps time of year it was busier which impacted the service. Overall it was nice but I miss the old service, the privacy and set up and cakes menu. We loved the sandwiches and teas so for that I will still continue to go annually in the hope the cakes may return to its former menu. Oh and the thing I disliked the most was the fact there was a bar there. It took away the ambiance of afternoon tea and felt more commercialized. I understand it’s for the restaurant which is in the same location post afternoon tea.

We were taken to the table at the edge of the room where waiteresses and waiters do some work like preparing bills and registering orders. I was surprised with it because there were so many empty seats not taken by anybody in more centre of the room (they were still empty in large part even at the time when we left the room). We were the first Asians when we entered the room, but saw other Asians also taken to tables nearest to us rather than more centre of the room. It makes me wonder if there was any intention to seperate Asian looking people from others. This is not to dismiss excellent food and tea we enjoyed very much. However, it left some ill feelings throughout my stay there.

The room was beautiful & we were greeting warmly. Service started off well & waitress was friendly. We had nearly eaten our sandwiches before we had our drinks which we thought was bad. The tea was warm - at best but kept getting re-filled, but it was never hot. Sandwiches were lovely. Some of the cakes were lovely but a couple were a bit bland. They looked beautiful though. The room was really warm, which wasn’t ideal & made my friend feel a bit faint! We seemed to get forgotten about after the first half hour & then struggled to find anyone to ask for water or the bill. Once the bill arrived, they lost my voucher for champagne afternoon tea (I handed this to the waitress when we ordered) that my friend had kindly bought me for my birthday & then was a while before our waitress appeared again to say her manager was coming over. After more time had passed the manager appeared & apologised for losing it but it was all sorted. We were sat melting for a long time before this was sorted, which was quite frustrating. All in all, it was quite a disappointing experience- especially considering how much it cost. I won’t be returning in a hurry.

We weee gifted a 6 courses tasting menu by my colleagues for our wedding ✨ I was excited to dine in this historical place and had high expectations. The service was impeccable, I cannot complain. The menu itself included 2 starters, 1 main course, a dessert and 2 canapé at the beginning and at the end of the dinner. The starters were very tasty but the main ( which was a kind of meat slowly cooked in a wine sauce with a pastry external crust) was disappointing and the dessert was not the best either to be honest. At the end of the dinner we had to pay for service charge on the trial amount of the voucher plus the drinks, which also came out like the price of a normale dinner for 2. It’s ok, we have done the experience, but I would not recommend. I’d rather go to places like the sky garden or the aqua shard: for the same money you get better food and an amazing view included.

Absolutely fabulous meal at the Savoy Grill last Saturday the 16th November, whilst we were staying at the hotel. The food was outstanding, tasty, well presented and probably one of the best meals I have every had. The staff were all absolutely wonderful, particularly Joy, who looked after us and was so friendly and welcoming. Thanks so much for making it such a special evening, much appreciated. Jo Hoddes

Visited recently to celebrate a major birthday. The waiting staff were as attentive as ever but the time it took for the food to be served was disappointing, very slow. I expect that there was a staff shortage in the kitchen. The restaurant was busy, some guests were served their orders before we got ours even though we ordered before them. Although we've been here a few times and also dined in the River room we will be thinking twice about revisiting

My partner and I were booked in for a late lunch, and we could not fault anything. The food was superb, the staff attentive and friendly but not over whelming. The atmosphere was just right. We had the set lunch menu, and I had a couple of glasses of white wine and ny partner had a couple of red. Both wines were extremely good. All in all a great experience, and I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

The wine waiters advise perfect. Great service from the staff. The food was fantastic. Cheese soufflé to start. Beef wellington main and chocolate soufflé for desert. Couldn’t fault the food. The cheese soufflé was super cheesy. The beef wellington medium rare perfect. The chocolate soufflé was can I say too chocolatey ha. Yummy. Ok it’s dam expensive. As a Yorkshire man the bill made me cry. But I have to say. The best meal I’ve had ever.

Fantastic food. Excellent staff, true ambassadors for the restaurant. Special shout out to our waitress Kiara ( sorry if I’ve spelled it wrong). She was amazing, and so kind.

Had a lot of expectations for the famous savoy grill. The food was quite enjoyable, especially the steak tartare and lobster thermidor. The beef wellington was average at best. However, the experience as a whole was not that great due to the service. The staff members were not friendly and I felt like me and my girlfriend were discriminated against because we are East Asian. I say this because the tables around us were being treated so kindly by staff, joking and laughing. To no surprise, the guests were all Caucasian. The staff who served us, had a very different attitude towards us. Also felt like we were ignored at times, when we wanted some help. It was strange and uncomfortable. Overall, food was great, service was poor.

A wonderful treat for lunch. We had the tasting menu which was quite simply divine. I chose not to have the foie gras so was given an alternative, followed by oyster with foam, wonderful Arnold Bennett soufflé, beef Wellington and Bakewell tart. Finally enough, the bakewell tart was a slight letdown, which is why I’ve only given four stars for the food. The service was impeccable and made the event really special.

Our experience was tremendous! The food was as good as would be expected from an establishment of this caliber. I’ve never liked wine or champagne, nor understood the whole idea of a sommelier. I’m a believer now! Each pairing truly added to the food. The beef Wellington was soft like butter!

I visited with my partner for a birthday treat for her as we had heard good things about here! First of all we arrived on a busy Saturday night, as expected in most restaurants you are expected to get your jackets taken as we was carrying them on entering the restaurant but no offer of that, which was poor. Then starting with the food! We went for the taste of sevoy menu, the first cause was a foie gras bon bon, which was the size of a ten pence coin! Although this was actually tasty it was half a mouthful! Then the second course was an oyster with a champagne and blackberry sauce! The oyster was ok but the sauce was absolutely lacking in any flavour! Very disappointing! The next was the soufflé which was again just ok at best. The main event which was the wellington was actually quite nice but that was the only good thing so far! The dessert was meant to be a Bakewell tart which if you didn’t know was it was meant to be you’d never of guessed it was a Bakewell because it taste absolutely nothing like it! To top it off we never got asked by anyone serving if we enjoying any of the food!! This place charges top dollar price for bang average food and service! Do not visit if you want bang average food and absolutely crap service! I don’t mind paying a service charge if they give good service but then to stick 20% on top for maybe the worst service I’ve had! Avoid at all costs people!

Had the Taste of Savoy menu for my partner’s 50th. The food was all amazing, staff were so attentive and they even brought out a birthday card and chocolate for the special occasion. Huge thanks to Nikko who made the experience so much better, was friendly, made a fuss of us and explained every element of the menu.

Disgraceful lack of customer service on the part of a very argumentative manager who completely lacked customer service skills or the desire to solve an issue. A rip off if ever I saw one!

We went to dinner the other evening with some friends. We sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen and I must say I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place and the excellent service of the guys who work there. Super recommended for both food and cocktails

Dreadful experience at the Stratford branch. Service lacklustre, burger dreadful - tiny and burnt and tasteless. Will never bother with GBK again - McDonalds is a better bet!

Celebrated my daughters 18th with family and friends. The venue was perfect (decorated fabulously by @360legends), with a professional team and first class service. From booking the venue, to answering queries, to service on the evening I can not fault Dave or his team. The security, the bar staff and Dave himself were attentive and professional. Great food (we had the BBQ), great drinks, and a brilliant playlist (although that was my daughters doing!). We will definitely be back.
