Nice little coffee shop with decent coffee.

A bit tiny but really tasty sandwiches. Lovely family place

Used to visit Sandwiched inn regularly for a delicious bacon sandwich when used to work in the area just before covid. Found myself in the area last month, so thought would give it a go. You can sadly tell if the bread is not fresh (as on my day) on the day as it loses some of it sponginess texture. Maybe using previous days bread leftover? I understand costs have risen these days but, I wasn’t expecting a localised version of “shrinkflation”: Used to get more than 2 rashers of bacon, but now it is just 2 rashers which now cost more than before. It tasted ok but, for the reasons mentioned above, it was disappointing & I’m unlikely to return or will have to pay more for more fillings. A pity

The lady was very kind , the food was delicious, definitely 5* and will come again!

We googled this cafe as we were on a motorway Very acceptable to drive to and easy parking in the village The lady was exceptionally friendly very accommodating As we had a very large great Dane with us The food was lovely and the coffee was delicious 😋 x

Sarah is a superb Barista. Great coffee and friendly service. The food is great too, well worth a visit. Gets very busy at lunchtime.

I hardly ever leave reviews for places, but had to here. My second time at this little shop in two days, on my visit to Exeter. The food is wonderful, including some of the best bread I have ever had. The decaf vanilla latte with oat milk is for some reason particularly delicious. Also the ppl/service are so lovely and you can tell it is really a local community shop, with many regulars laughing and chatting. I highly recommend!

Only had coffee but it was good .Staff friendly and generous .Pretty small inside but gave a regular a freebie which was nice and a rare example of generosity.

Visiting a local school from South Wales, I stumbled across this little cafe, ironically, looking for Waitrose cafe shop. Thank goodness I did, super friendly, lovely coffee and cake. If I'm ever back, I know where to go. Fab. Thanks.

Walked in wanting a sandwich, watched the two ladies behind counter talk to each other for a minute or two, one walked over to cold counter to put something in, directly in front of me stood there waiting, didn’t even make eye contact, turned round and went back to talking to her colleague. I walked back out.

We stopped by yesterday for a latte and cinnamon swirl/bun. I actually bought it for myself but ended up sharing it as you do, because it was so delicious!!! Smooth coffee and light a pastry. Lovely bit of art on the top of the coffee too. Super duper service too. Thank you!

Well not quite lunch but late morning cuppa and flapjack on our way walking Back from the City. A nice friendly tearoom and a welcome rest. We regularly take their used coffee grinds for the garden. And the local cat is often just outside asking for attention.

I go here regularly for sandwiches, they are the best I especially love the hot ones. The cakes are also lovely and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place

Stumbled upon this cafe one morning and i had a cheese and tomato sandwich . The bread was lovely and the coffee was great too.

It’s okay for English food but it’s British food so how good could it be?

Very friendly with great sandwiches

Very clean, friendly staff and obviously family run. People popping in all the time we were there for a impromptu lunch. Simple food and home made, plus lovely desserts. Very impressed and definitely will be visiting again.

Been going to this place for years, has been through many changes Inc owners and now added a coffee shop, they also did artisan breads, not 100% sure if that's still happening though. I had not been for nearly 2 years due to moving away but when I returned, was as good as ever and pleased to see it still there.

We were only in Exeter to visit the ruins, when we happened upon the Sandwiched-Inn. Feeling peckish, we went in. We are so pleased we did. There are good sandwiches, and not-so-good sandwiches. The Sandwich-Inn do not make good sandwiches, they make excellent sandwiches. But what made the experience so special, was the service we received. We were looked after by a personable young man (I think his name was Patrick), who couldn’t do enough for us. Would I go again? It’s a no-brainer! Terry Tobias and June Komatch

By far one of the best sandwich/coffee/social place in Exeter! The staff are lovely but professional in equal measure, I don’t do coffee shops but this one is an exception!

Popped in as another place nearby didn't have what I wanted & I'm so glad I did. The baguette was amazing, generous filling & decently priced. Will definately be returning & will have to try some cake next time!

Literally my favourite place! They offer a student discount so perfect for lunchtimes. As a vegan I recommend either a hummus, avocado and salad baguette or the pulled jackfruit baguette. Such lovely staff who we love having chats with :)

I popped here with some friends for the first time as a recommendation I'd received. I can see why it was praised. I walked in to a very welcoming smile from the lovely lady at the counter who was lovely, chatty and helpful throughout my visit. The atmosphere is lovely. It's quite a small place but that makes the friendly feel of the place. I had little chats with a few people while waiting for friends. The coffee was superb and the best thing was the food. I had the halloumi dish and it was incredible. Very decent sized portion and plenty of halloumi, something I always find is hit or miss. The flavours and extra fillings were all lovely. Will be popping back again for lunch soon.

We called in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The staff were very friendly and the service quick and efficient. I had a sausage baguette and my wife had a full breakfast - both were spot on. The quality of the ingredients was excellent and everything was properly cooked. The coffee was splendid too! Overall the breakfast was really excellent quality and value. Highly recommended

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere

After buying our Friday fish in Magdalen Red we popped in for coffee, which ended up with brunch. Great unfussy service, superb coffee and the smashed avocado with poached eggs on toast great food. Lovely ambiance and a place to go again and again. Give it a try.

We Visited this morning after reading reviews, but was quite disappointed. There’s not a lot of choice for breakfast, and what’s we did decide on they haven’t got! Unfortunately we had to leave and go find somewhere else for breakfast. Staff very nice though.

Queríamos un buen desayuno esta mañana para un tratamiento a medio plazo, pero la cocina estaba cerrada debido a que aparentemente se estaban realizando "trabajos de gas". Todo muy extraño ya que la cafetería está abierta y aquí no había señales de ningún trabajo que se esté realizando. Nos dirigimos por la carretera hacia el Castor Común y tomamos un fabuloso desayuno allí.

We have called in here several times lately. The staff are always polite and friendly. The cake selection is very good, haven't sampled the sandwiches or light bites, but will certainly return.

Mientras estaba en Windsor, tuve el mejor sándwich que he probado en mi vida, el queso y el tomate, suena simple. Nunca he podido encontrar otro como este. Hasta ahora. El Sandwiched Inn tiene sándwiches increíbles, deliciosos, llenos y saludables. No vivo en Exeter, pero mi hermana sí y yo los visito todos los años. Me detuve en una mañana buscando algo para un desayuno tardío y salí con un sándwich de pollo, brie y dulce frío para 4 personas. Volví al día siguiente para un sándwich de queso cheddar y ensalada. Lo tuve dos veces durante mi visita. O tal vez tres veces. Me hubiera encantado comer todas las comidas aquí. Las personas que trabajan aquí son amables, el servicio es rápido y el café también es bueno. No puedo esperar para volver a Exeter para tener otro sándwich (y supongo que también para mi hermana y mi familia ...)

Absolute gem of a place. Discovered in passing a few weeks back and have been meaning to visit since. Bright and welcoming atmosphere; cosy and surprisingly private feeling regardless of its small size. Staff are friendly and cheerful with a nothing is too much trouble demeanour. Menu is wide without losing focus, and as a bonus the sandwich I fancied was made to my requirements. I don't know whether it was on the menu as I was offered whatever I liked instantly, giving me the impression that fantastic customer service is not an extinct create but very much alive and well here. The perfect local cafe serving excellent food, cleanly, quickly and with an obvious pride in providing the best experience possible. I absolutely love and recommend this place, and would gladly drive an hour to eat here. The coffee by the way is divine. Support this place because it really is a rare find. You'll not be disappointed.

Como segunda dueña de una casa en la calle Leonards, estoy aquí de negocios con regularidad y me resulta un poco molesto tener un lugar para comer, tomar un buen café y pasteles.

¡Soy un habitual aquí y me sorprendieron los comentarios en una publicación anterior! La comida y el café aquí siempre son maravillosos, los "nuevos" propietarios, como los llama esta persona, James (¡su nombre!) Ha hecho un gran trabajo con el lugar y ahora ofrece un lugar para sentarse y mirar pasar el mundo. El Sandwiched Inn está impecablemente limpio, tiene una gran selección de comida, un personal amable y vale la pena una visita. Debo añadir que las salchichas son muy buenas y están hechas por el galardonado fabricante de salchichas, Westaways en Newton Abbot. . . ! ¡Los he visto ser entregados! ¡Me enojo mucho cuando leo reseñas de lugares que es tan obvio que es de otro negocio rival o celoso! ! The food here is OK at best, the staff make up for this with their polite and cheerful person solutions.

A small venue with a big heart. Best cheese and onion toastie ever, stunning brownies and great cappuccinos. Friendly, warm, fun team: enjoyed meeting Lou, Heidi, Gavin and apologies to Gavin's twin brother that I have forgotten your name! It's like a little home away from home.

I work nearby and I used to go to The Sandwiched Inn around 2-3 times a week for my lunch. Great food, decent value (around £2.80-3.50 a sandwich, give or take a few pence). But in the last year (2017) the shop was been taken over, the new owners have done some good work inside and there is now a seating area.

Lovely relaxed place to stop and have a coffee or snack. I popped in for a coffee but sitting around a large wooden table felt at home and got a little work done and charged my phone. Read the paper and enjoyed a good coffee. Very personal and instant service. I went away but visited again later in the day to sample their soup which was tasty and served with a crusty baguette. I saw lovely looking breakfasts and jacket potatoes served too. I would definitely recommend a stop off at this light, airy, very relaxing and friendly cafe.

I had arranged a surprise birthday breakfast with my wife and our family of 10 on a Sunday morning. James could not have been more helpful. The breakfasts were fabulous and the staff very attentive. I do hope James that you are able to introduce...

Proof that the students of Exeter Uni are not as hard up as they claim to be. If you try and get a sarnie/baguette here at lunchtimes, the placed is queued out the door with students all happy to pay over the odds for their lunch. Oddly, you never see any of them in the Spar across the road buying a loaf of bread to make their own lunches...

James tuvo que tratar con un gran desayuno para nuestra reunión de equipo. Todo estaba muy bien organizado y correcto. Yo le envié un correo electrónico con los pedidos el día antes, e incluso hizo algunos cambios media hora antes en el día y se las arregló para conseguir todo preparado y listo para las 9:30 en punto. Todos mis colegas que el desayuno era delicioso. La mayoría incluso dijo que fue el mejor desayuno que he tenido! ! Seguro que volveré a usar el encajonado Inn para reuniones futuras. Gracias James!
