The Sandpiper Brewers Fayre in Carmarthenshire

Unfortunately we had the meal from hell here last week for one of my five offspring's birthday. Price was reasonable and boy when you have seven mouths to feed and struggling in the double glazing industry unable to even sell a pane of glass to AutoGlass. As above I had the worst diarrhea and missed both my toilet and my friend's downstairs facility the following day. This can only be put down to the BIG BAD BEEF BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN BURGER. My rear was never the same again.

A great place for a family get-together. The food is pretty good, on the whole, and is worth the money. Atmosphere is very comfortable. Will definitely return.

Had to update this review as my recent trip here was the worst it's ever been. Food order was slow but understandable for school holidays, no fault of the restaurant. Food came out wrong and a mix of temperature, one order was inedible and had to be sent back, by the time it came back out the rest of our party had finished our food. Orders should have been stopped to help the kitchen staff from being overwhelmed. Disappointing to say the least hopefully an improvement ASAP

The place was absolutely heaving as it was half term. The staff were amazing and handled the customers with patience, kindness, a lovely smile & they worked as an experienced team.They were run off their feet,but were still professional & caring. Food was excellent for the money. Will keep on returning, don't think that I will find a better place to dine in Llanelli.

Im not the one to complain and I'd eat anything but this was shocking!! Chicken burnt ordered medium 2 well done and it was so red I was almost still breathing. The sausage was raw the eggs tasted off and the gammon was so salty I couldn't eat it. Poor performance all round

Wonderful attentive staff and excellent quality food.

Lovely, hearty, well cooked meal. We had the £6 meal deal & it was more than enough.the lasagne was the best I’d ever tasted. Finished off with a small chocolate sundae which was fabulous. Good coffee. Excellent service. Tables nice & clean ( with no sticky residue). Lovely atmosphere. Would really recommend & price great for an everyday lunch.

What you would expect from a Brewers Fayre but the one in Pemberton is better.

Great location unfortunately, they couldn't allow overnight parking.

Called in for a drink inbetween my walk and sat outside enjoying the view over the lake.

First thing I'll say is that one must make one's own mind up about this place, but our experience was seriously not good. We called in during the middle of a Sunday afternoon, judging that we would be after the main influx of the Sunday dinner groups there to over indulge on food. Waited at the "wait here to be seated" sign for what seemed like an eternity and no-one came so we wandered in and looked around. There was still a lot of people present and many still eating.There was plenty of food at the carvery counter but no-one there. Not too many staff members present but there were some. I was forced to ask a gent behind the bar about seating and he went to get a 'front of house' lady that showed us to a table and then stated that there was no meat available so the carvery was out but bizarrely, we could still dine from the menu. I advised the lady we were vegetarian anyway and would be happy to eat just vegetables but was spoken to quite dismissively and told we'd have to order off the menu. She had started to walk away before even finishing her statement leaving us stood there just staring at eachother in disbelief at the rudeness of this member of staff. No words were exchanged as none were needed... we both just walked out, having not even taken a seat, yet alone ordered. I cannot even claim that it was seriously busy for this member of staff to have been so rude as to walk off while I was discussing options with her. Check some of my other reviews and you will see that I am not in the habit of leaving such negative reviews. This experience was not good.

Great to have an option of a roast dinner, however their knowledge of what is GF is not great. Handed a massive binder to trawl through which in itself was quite confusing. It said roast potatoes were GF but the chef said that there was flour used so don't have! The food i had was lovely but they needed to care about allergens a bit more with more training. Also their allergens booklet differed to that downloadable online.

Bought a takeaway coffee, wasn't good

We just ordered a child’s menu meal in the sandpiper. We were rather shocked by the size i.e. the portion compared to the price of £6.99.. atmosphere service excellent but such a disappointment with the food

Enjoyed my food however, after visiting home from the other side of the world, had friends from blackwood come up to see us, suggested "sandpiper" brewers for lunch, we arrived and got offered to go on the kids side so beens as we had 2 we just said yes, it was not busy, its xmas time, and to be made to feel like we was getting kicked out because we had been over our time... we was there just under 2 hours ordered mains and desert which i thought was pretty standard when you spend half the time waiting for food, empty tables left right and centre dont really see what the problem was and was leaving shortly after anyway, but very dissappointed in the way we got spoken to !

Mostly go there for the breakfast which is great. Now and again will have evening meal always been good with no issues. Staff always friendly. place is clean and tidy.

Excellent restaurant, our favourite place to eat and chill out. Staff are always very welcoming and the food is of the highest quality. Resonible prices, especially the daytime value meals, served between 12pm and 6pm. 😀

Really enjoyed my birthday meal and the welcome from the staff.

Me and my wife came for breakfast. When we got here we went for the unlimited breakfast the nice lady serving us showed us everything we needed to know. To start the coffee machine was not working. The food was cold also the bacon is so thin you can see through it. I think the best thing was the juice lol. Will we back for breakfast NO!!!

Not a very impressive welcome from a staff member this evening, who told us where and where not we could sit, when we moved to a more suitable table, she informed us that she hadn't wiped the table down but carried on cleaning a table that was not occupied, and did not bother to come back to give our table simple clean. Decided to leave with out ordering put off by her obviously stressed could not care less attitude.

Update: visited again recently. Ordered a kids meal the menu said it came with 2 mini corn on the cobs. Turned up with just one, thought this was a mistake until I saw other kids meals coming out with just one on. They are cost cutting and hoping you don't notice ! When I asked the waitress about this they said the kitchen was " stingy" Ordered the smothered chicken burger. Well it definitely wasn't smothered. A tiny scrape of bbq sauce which was well hidden. A poor amount of chips- the kitchen must be rationing them! which led me at first to believe I was given a kids portion. This Along with a pitiful amount of coleslaw resulted in a very underwhelming meal. When I asked staff about this they said that's the standard portion size. For the child's meal.i ordered my son I had to ask twice for his 1 scoop.of ice-cream.. it took so long they must have gone to the antarctic to get it. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU ARE HUNGRY

Only called for a cuppa which was good but a couple from our group had fish and chips, which looked really nice.

Sunday carvery served until 18:00, table for 5 booked at 15:45, turned up to be told carvery has stopped due to running out of meat. Surely things like this should be accounted for when ordering/planning. Ourselves and many other in the queue behind us left when hearing this

We were a group of 5 and had Sunday lunch at the Sandpiper Llanelli. The food was great, the meat really tender, we all.had 3 meats, and the vegetables fresh. I can't fault it.

First time going to the sandpiper pub Llanelli and what we had was very nice 1 mixed grill 1 smothered chicken 1 rump steak all were cooked as we wanted definitely go there again but we live over 1hr away but if passing will pop in

Located on the edge of a small lake, this is a typical Brewers Fayre pub. Only had a drink as passing through but looked like a good place to have a drink and meal in the sun on the banks of the lake.

Told to book carvery apparently we booked for 3.30 they cook till 6 at 3 we were told no meat left and we booked ruined our day as to late to go else where avoid .

Very busy Sunday service but got served quickly for drinks and food. Typical pub grub at reasonable prices.

We had an absolutely lovely breakfast! All you can eat hot buffet with cold yogurts, cereals and pastries too. The sausages were heavenly, and cooked to perfection. The hash browns were the crispiest things I've ever eaten! Everything was extremely clean. The toilets were also clean. My only suggestion would be to get another coffee machine. One coffee machine for all the tables made things a little slow.

I was there with my family as it was my birthday and we had a wonderful time. I was spoilt rotten x

Really nice venue opposite a large lake, very friendly and helpful staff...was able to fit us in at a very busy time, will book next time 😅 Food was delicious 😋 Will be coming back again soon. Just too note there is also a soft play area inside as well

On a very warm evening with a full restaurant and garden, the service was excellent. The staff worked so hard.

Food was fine. Had to queue for a while even though we had booked. Waited ages for our desert..we asked on two occasions for it.

Quite a wait for food and we were unable to open a tab. Unfortunately with new menu there is limited vegetarian options. Friendly helpful staff .

Good beer selection food a good selection and quality and good portions children's play area smart dining in area and a great beer garden overlooking the waterpark when sun is shining on a warm day it feels like you could be anywhere in the world ample parking and there is a premier inn on site

There's a proper soft play here so u can have a pint and a Sunday dinner whilst the kids actually play solid for an hr and a half. Then u can feed them if you want

Eat here a fair bit. Longest part is getting served, food can take a long time when bussy. Has a new look menu, pizza and gammon very nice.

Had my son's 5th birthday party at the Sandpiper soft play area and I couldn't fault it! I dealt with a member of staff called Jane, who took my initial booking and then helped me throughout the duration of my sons party. There was also another member of staff called Charlie who was working during my son's party and she was also very helpful and attentive. Jane was on hand to answer any queries I had and helped out so much, I was so grateful! The venue decorates the table and provides FREE party bags. All you do is turn up with a cake and a load of kids! What more could you want? It's a 2 course menu, starter and main! Think I might have found the perfect party venue for smaller kids!

Came here recently and we were going to have the Sunday roast as it stated it was served until 6pm however when we came at 4pm we were told they had just stopped serving the Sunday roast. As we were already there we decided to stay and order from the regular menu. I ordered the BBQ wings starter. - Worst wings I've ever had. They were extremely dry, like they had been left in an oven or under heat lamps for a LONG time. They were actually difficult to eat. The lady I was with ordered the fish and chips and the batter wasn't crispy at all however the fish size was massive and the fish itself was cooked well. Staff were friendly and the food came quickly.

We had a Sunday lunch there today - I think it was without doubt the worst & we have been there a few times as we really like it The beef was awful both myself & my daughter couldn’t eat it The turkey wasn’t too bad The beef’s never brilliant but looked so nice I decided to try it - but as expected it was so tough & chewy I had to leave mine & my daughter left hers The staff tho😊 wow all so helpful & polite Strange woman front of house we found a little odd tho, not the best to be in that position or maybe a little more training on “welcoming” guests Not sure if we will have another Sunday lunch again tho

Won't allow kids over 140 cm to go in soft play! Turned my 10 yr old daughter away from the soft play. Average food and miserable attitude from staff. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Sticky tables, faulty refillable drink machine, overpriced sub-par food. The server was pleasant. The staff seemed deflated and tired. The furniture was uncomfortable especially with a bad back.

I visited this place with my friend for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised by the vibrant atmosphere filled with locals. This restaurant seems to be beloved by all generations, as I noticed a diverse crowd that included grandparents, parents, and young adults. On the way to this place, there is a beautiful lake teeming with swans, geese, and ducks. The stunning scenery enhances the overall dining experience, making the food taste even better.

Went here on Sunday spent over £100 on food which was not nice chips weren't that warm not much choice only burgers mix grill or pies ect no choice of jacket potato or anything healthy would have been cheaper to go to McDonald's for what they asking for burger and chips

Tidy stay here as usual. Not the quickest when it comes to service but I enjoyed all the same 👍

Was looking forward to having family eat out day. Got there with excitement, the disappointment was when we had to wait for a very very long time before our meal arrived. Looks so disappointing. And they forgot the other part of our order, had to call a staff attention before a part was brought and till we left the last part didn’t arrive. We had to go somewhere else for proper meal. What a waste of money and time.

The only real negatives were the coffee station; a pot for cleans spoons, that had used spoons inside, and the surfaces were dirty and sticky. The tables were also a little bit sticky. The food was really good, and certainly value for money.
