Awesome place. Food delicious, fresh, and interesting. Had the oysters, grilled prawns and then crab starter. Lobster butter with the bread is next level. Really great experience. Service was also excellent, great knowledgeable team!

I took my wife here on 2nd April 2024. Michael was very welcoming, friendly.and attentive. He gave us advice on the sharing platters and so we opted for the whole sea bass which turned out to be star of the show. Perfectly cooked and then filleted at the table. Oh my goodness it was the best fish I’ve ever had, soft, moist and flavoursome. The starters and dessert were really tasty too. I had the crab and my Wife had scallops for starters and we had the mini selection of desserts. Throughout Michael was attentive ensuring we had everything we needed. The mojito was tasty and punchy and the bottle of Chablis, crisp and fruity, complemented the main course perfectly. Our meal was rounded off by a ‘happy anniversary’ message written in rich chocolate accompanied by two rich chocolate truffles. I can’t wait to go back to have the sea bass again and also the steak platters. Thank you so much for making our special day very special. See you again very soon. Darren

Popped in for dinner before a gig at the Brighton Centre and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Will definitely be back again next time we’re in Brighton.

Fabulous first visit to the Salt Room - would highly recommend for all the best reasons. Great environment/atmosphere with faultless, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive staff (especially our waitress Agatha), and food to die for! Loved all the food. We had nibbles, starters, mains and desserts - all to share - and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. A very special evening all round - thank you!

Booked a table here for dinner prior to attending a concert in the Brighton Centre which is close by. The restaurant would have excellent sea views on a nice day but unfortunately it was pouring with rain & very grey! We enjoyed crab & oysters for starters, and a lovely fresh fish, Brill, with sides of crispy cabbage & garlic potatoes. There was a good choice of wines by the glass & cocktails. The service was also excellent. The meal wasn’t cheap at £184 but good quality fresh fish never is. Worth a visit.

Took my Wife there for our 9th Wedding Anniversary. The best hospitality from Michael very friendly, attentive and sound advice on the menu.We had a 4 course and throughout was the best experience. Shared a whole sea bass and it was incredible! All the food we had was second to none.I really can’t wait to return.Thank you so much for making our special day very special!

We went to The Saltroom last week and it was fabulous. My wife and I enjoy dining out and we both agreed it was the best meal we had had this year. The staff were attentive and very friendly and the food was excellent with a lovely ambiance. I thought the food was reasonably priced for the produce they use. Perhaps we were fortunate with the weather but with great food, the sun beaming down and looking out to sea it was absolutely perfect.

Came to the Salt room this past weekend after viewing the website and looking at the good reviews and amazing looking food, unfortunately I left extremely disappointed. I had traveled to Brighton for the weekend with my partner and we wanted to treat ourselves to some good food and fresh seafood, we were very excited about our visit and had been looking forward to our dinner for a few weeks, now I could and probably should of complained that night but I didn’t want to ruin the mood of our special occasion so here are my issues: I had the seafood platter but when it arrived the mussels were stone cold, I stopped a waiter to ask for another drink and to ask about the mussels but was told that he was not my server and he would get her, this to me is highly unprofessional as i asked him a direct question about my food only to be ignored, the mussels were replaced but still a bad start as they should never of come out cold in the first place. The second thing is almost funny and ironic, now I know it’s called the salt room but all of our dishes were heavily over seasoned, everything from the fish to the fries to the side potatoes and my partners steak just tasted of salt, the sauce with mine was also heavy with salt, we therefore drank a lot due to being dehydrated, we also heard the table next to us mention there food was also salty. Due to me eating a few cold mussels I was Ill that evening or perhaps it was just the salt intake even so I had to be sick in the middle of the night. For spending over £100 for two of us and for the fact we were so looking forward to dinner we were both very very dissatisfied with our visit, a night that was meant to be remembered for a romantic dinner ended up being a night where we felt like the kitchen was poorly run. So unfortunately I have to rate this review as I have as it ruined what was otherwise a perfect weekend away.

We visited The Salt Room in celebration of my wife’s birthday. The food (seafood sharing platter, oysters, soft shell crab) was excellent. The drinks (house martinis) were excellent. The view (rolling sea, big horizon) was excellent. Most of all, the service provided, this evening, by the charming and attentive Vlado, was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Wow 😲 This place is amazing. First of all, the location is stunning, right in front of the sea. Secondly, the food is excellent, and the price is quite reasonable! Thirdly, the service is attentionate and professional. We have been quite impressed with everyone working there, both me and my partner have worked in fine dining restaurants before, and I can say that you get a lot more than you pay for! Highly recommended !!!

the food was top tier, but the service was friendly and not pretentious. We felt like it was a luxury/family vibe. The kids menu worked well for my daughter; as she loved Mac and cheese, and Ice cream to finish. Our server was a gentleman (forgot his name) but he was so friendly and accommodating. Recommended me the French Oysters, which was so clean compared to my favs Irish Oysters. I had the Monkfish to finish, and a decadent choc tart to finish. I would love to bring my parents here one day when I’m back in Brighton!

Agatha was our waitress and she absolutely made the evening, she was so friendly and knowledgeable with some great recommendations and the right balance of interaction and privacy. In addition the food and drinks were all very good and we left very happy. Well worth the money, would definitely go back next time I’m in Brighton.

What a lovely restaurant! Friendly, helpful staff and delicious seafood. Sizes are generous but not too big, champagne is lovely and the atmosphere is really nice.

We have had the Brighton Sea Bass as the catch of the day and Cornish Crab for starters. Both were amazing and delicious. The bass was just enough for two people with tremendous side dishes of cabbage with cream cheese and hazelnut crumbs; as well as the roasted smashed potatoes with herbs and garlic. We drank a Chardonnay recommended by our waiter, that was also very nice. The bass was cooked on fire and perfectly charred. It was juicy and tender. The ambiance was beautiful, I loved the lighting of the restaurant in particular. All of the staff were amazing, I was seeing the kitchen from my seat and I liked how harmonious they were working. Our waiter was so friendly and polite as well. Overall, we enjoyed our time and will definitely come back again!

First time here and it didn’t disappoint! A very warm welcome as soon as we arrived, seated at the bar for a drink, with another great welcome. Shortly after receiving our drinks we were escorted to our table. Waiting staff incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. On top of all that, probably the most amazing food we’ve had for a very long time! The crab starter was absolutely delicious, followed by the surfboard to share - it is huge! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and cannot wait to return. My only very small critique would be a few more alcohol free drink options please but otherwise it’s 10/10 from us!

Can't fault anything about our visit for lunch. The restaurant was very quiet but it was a very wet Tuesday. Front of house were very welcoming and friendly.Our server Michael was very nice. Knowledgeable about the menu and specials on offer. Helped us choose our wine and was attentive without being overbearing.The food was fantastic. We had some oysters, soft shell crab and then the fish of the day which Michael filleted perfectly at the table.

We visited the Salt Room today for lunch, and all aspects were excellent. My wife and I shared a whole sea bass that was beautifully cooked, and the service delivered by Michael was faultless. The setting and views are great, and the atmosphere was really nice. We will definitely return - highly recommended.

We had a lovely dinner at The Salt Room last night. We had Oysters and Dill cured Salmon to start, followed by The catch of the day, Brill and shared the Whisky Baba for dessert. The food was amazing, so delicate but full of flavour, it was delicious. Greg's suggestion for the wine was the perfect match to the Brill. All the staff were friendly and attentive, without intruding on our evening, the service was exceptional. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Brighton.

Sunday roast offer, booked 5, 4 days ahead, but could only be served 4. This should have been flagged up when booking or on arrival. Substandard meat. Sirloin was 1/4 slices of pure fat, a large bone. The waiter did not seem clued up on gf, the board special ordered was only a starter so had to re-order , he forgot the fennel side. Overcharged +2 on cocktails. A long wait for the food.

We were recommended the Salt Room by our local Air BnB host. Cannot express how incredible every item and every moment of service here was. Definitely worth indulging in every part of the meal - especially the chocolate tart with pistachio ice cream.

A very noisy restaurant. The service would have been good accept for the wine. We ordered an expensive bottle and asked for it to be decanted. We then asked for the bottle which should be shown and supplied to tally with the decanted wine and were told it had been discarded. Potentially a cheap trick that no decent restaurant should use. Callum was attentive, knowledgeable regarding the menu and fun. The Ambience and decor have been crafted beautifully and the music was appropriate. Our food was cooked perfectly, the cocktails were made with love (we could taste it), and Callum presented a birthday plate for my friend who flew in for her birthday (nice touch).

I've been to the Salt Room a few times now and it never disappoints. My friend and I were there for lunch and we were so well looked after from the moment we walked through the door. The food was excellent, as usual, particularly the scallop ceviche which was sublime. The wine list is great - varied and reasonable with lots of options and a wonderful French maitre d'/sommelier on hand to give recommendations. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and they very sensibly don't play music too loudly so you can actually hear your friends talk! A special mention goes to our waiter, Callum, who was charming and attentive throughout. We will be back!

Discovered this amazing restaurant on a weekend trip to Brighton... first meal so fantastic we went there again the next day. Everything we ate and drank was 10 out of 10 on both occasions. Very fresh produce, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Service is prompt and efficient. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Atmosphere warm, welcoming and chic. The cocktails are to die for... especially Night Train! Highly recommend this absolute gem.

Absolutely wonderful lunch experience. The waiter was lovely, the wine was tasty, the food was fab. The John Dorry was very good, as were the sides - wish there was more sauce/moisture in the dish but that’s probably personal preference!

Really bright and well presented surroundings with a lively atmosphere. On a fine warmer day, plenty of outside space for dinning, with views out to sea. Plenty of choice menu wise. The food is proper well prepared seafood with options for meat eaters and vegetarians. We had the sharing fish pie which was very tasty and plentiful. Very competitive prices for a large seafront restaurant. Service excellent friendly and informative. There was quite a wait for the food ordered to arrive but gives you time for a good chin wag and a tipple. In the end, worth the wait.
