I my opinion i don't know how anyone can rate this place under 5 stars, me and my mates go here all the time and the chicken bangs. Also the value for money i would say is very good here and i don't know any other place in cambridge where you can get 15 hot wings for under £10.

This is the most disgusting chicken wings I even had! I can't believe that the poor quality when I open the box! How can you sell something like that! All in the bin now!

I ordered from here via deliveroo the the food was a absolutely disgusting the chips were like over boiled potatoes not chips no crisp to the at all the saveloy was like eating a rock and the battered sausage was like a eating a sausage wrapped in a sponge the batter was so soggy I will not be ordering anything from you again if I could get a refund I would

This so called ‘restaurant’ is an embarrassment to England. I was served the most disgusting and oily fish. I also ordered a chicken shish potion for £13 and I received 4 little pieces. I don’t recommend at all unless they are the last restaurant in the world.

Thought I would try the fish & chips tonight. On receiving the chips looked mediocre . the Fish looked ok but on tasting the meal tasted very greasy . Very expensive for what I got. Will not be going there again.

Great fish! Two thing’s annoy me. From one menu to the next, everything went up by 40%. Overnight. Next thing is fake mushy peas! They come out of a tin.

Fish and chips are great, but the Kebab and chilli sauce is the generic 'just add water' chilli sauce, not so good, get your kebab from the Kebab van. Also minimum spend £10 to use the card, if they lowed this to £8 they would get an extra star from me.

Husband had cod and chips, said it was lovely. I had the veggie burger and chips, so delicious. Prices reasonable, service good & food lively. Been several times over the last year.

Ordered chicken shish with Kofte, wife had chicken shish wrap and kids had a burger. Excellent food meat cooked perfectly salad was fresh as well. Second time we have had this and it was perfect on both occasions. Well done guys. Thank you

I've ordered two large pieces of fish and chips and waited about 15 minutes. Then 👨‍🍳 chef realised they are one short and gave me two smaller wich were cooked before I even entered the shop. Very disorganised in orders

It's new, its clean and smart, staff are helpful, lots of free parking in front of the shop, they cook the food fresh (so a little bit of a wait typically)......very good fish and chips, and the shish kebabs are especially good

Totally chaotic! The door labelled as the entry is as far away from the till as you can get. You have to wade through the people who have already ordered, place your order at the till and then move back into the crowd of people waiting to collect their orders. Too many orders being put through the till, at the same time - the team preparing the food are not able to keep up, which results in orders becoming backed up. By far the worst part of the experience is having random items called out for the intended recipient to select their salad......when none of the customers respond because they're not sure if it is their item, the staff give you a look as if to say "we're calling your order", so you claim the item and select your salad, only to find out that it's not your order (and being made to feel by the staff that it is your fault for getting it wrong). Rumbles - I would suggest you provide customers with order numbers and then you just call out the number......avoids any awkwardness for the customers. Wouldn't take much to implement - invest in a book of raffle tickets, give one ticket to the customer and staple the corresponding ticket to the receipt. The result would be less chaos, no confusion for staff or customers, and a much smoother experience all round.

A proper fish and chip shop that also does very tasty kebabs. We really like the food from Rumbles - it's always fresh, well cooked and full of flavour. Portion sizes are also very generous. Parking is usually east, too, either in the layby on Trumpington Road, or in the residential streets nearby. The only problem is that it's often so busy that you can't hear a word that's said when you order by telephone. They usually get it right though!!

Excellent flaked fish. Chips could be crispier and the price could be lower (although I appreciate that these are Cambridge prices). Overall, it was an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Just ordered chicken and spicy potatoes which were awful and they tried to charge me For a pot of mayonnaise I’m sure this will lose you much more than 50p

I lived in Saudi Arabia for five years and I will say that this is pretty decent to be on the streets of Cambridge. Huge portion, tasty lamb doner without after taste, fresh veggies and crunchy pickled chillies. Definitely gonna come back for more of this. 🫡

Went in last night for Cod ,plaice, chip curry sauce , not greasy at all like some absolutely superb will be back even though we have nearer chip shops!

Good value for money,Kofte kebab is really nice pitta bread was far to dry,my son had chicken meal, chips were not very good over all it was ok,nothing special. I might have another try in the future. Stuff was nice and friendly and place was clean.

Very expensive and bad, hideous quality kabab ( £8.50). It was dry, cold , old meat in a stale crumbly pitta bread. It was thrown away , waste of money. Won`t be going back. For that money you would expect a decent bit of grub, not a stale old horrid thing. It was put out for the fox to eat

Pleasant and friendly place with a diverse menu, for many tasts and wants. Freshly cooked food very tasty and filling with good meal portions.

This fish shop is notorious of overcharging their customers. It happened to me 3 times. The last one, I paid 2 battered sausage but only to find out that I got only 1. I rang them and they said they were wrong. It happened twice before i different items so this not a mistake but intentional! Some customers also complained but not bother to complain or give a review. So pls check your orders before leaving the shop if you’re also defrauded.

Great venue for getting fish and chips (and kebabs, pies, chicken nuggets, etc). The prices are very reasonable, the staff are very efficient, the food is cooked well and is tasty - not greasy like you get with some takeaways. I'd definitely recommend both the chips and the onion rings, never been disappointed with those. Worth a visit if you want some nice fish and chips.

Fancied some chips, thought I’d actually get fed like an adult but clearly i should of provided my ID to prove I’m an adult! Asked for a medium chips, got home, opened the bag and it was like I was robbed of chips! £2.70 for that!! (See image) could of bought 2kg of potatoes for that and provided for a family of 12! Just going down hill and hopefully will disappear pretty quick!!

Best fish and chips I have had in nearly 50 years. Fabulous piece of cod and lovely big chips, all perfectly cooked. Generous portions, all well wrapped.

.... I know that these days is hard to survive for any businesss (September 2021), but last two times i have had portion of spicy potatoes i got (must've be by the chance...) half of portion pieces hard as the stone... Must've be mixed together accidently... 🤔

Well, not a lot to say really. Way overpriced for what I got, and what I got was very very poor. The chips were cold and had obviously been recooked and just dipped into the fat. The fish was such a small portion that having been charged for a large, I shudder to think what a medium is like, two mouthfuls perhaps. We all learn by our mistakes, I have learnt not to go back. One star is one too many. Stay away people.

8/10 for a medium fish, plenty for an average adult. 5/10 for the chips which were not that fresh and limp. Staff all wearing their masks on the chin.

Jedyne miejsce gdzie można coś zjeść po 16 pozostałe tzw restauracje zamykają kuchnię 3-4 pm bądź trzeba bookować z dużym wyprzedzeniem miejsca tj do 3 tygodni... jedzenie jak to w barze szybkiej obsługi trzeba lubić 😉 ale możesz się spokojnie najeść 🇬🇧🇵🇱✌

Normally like it but the last two times I went was horrendous the battered sausage wasn't cooked properly the second time the kebab was cold and not nice at all

A vast improvement since it's early days of opening. In my opinion this takeaway offers probably the best Donna Kebab locally. Staff are happy to accept telephone orders . No complaints what so ever.

The chips were extremely greasy!!!!!! Came in again, ordered onion rings and their special burger. It was a huge improvement.

I do enjoy the food from here both on the F&C side as well as the Kebab side. Decent portions, fresh salad and fairly priced too. Usually I pop the chips in the oven for an extra 10 mins and they come out nice, crisp and hot. Only negatives are 1) too many people in there at one time. There is a sign restricting numbers but sometimes 6 or 7 waiting inside (no it was not raining) and added delivery guys coming in and out also. 2) Chef on the Kebab side wears his mask round his chin. I know masks are hot and uncomfortable but I can't return until covid is a much smaller issue. I have vulnerable people in the household.

Rumbles delivered when I was in need. Their thick chippy chips are a rarity and a delight in Cambridge, and their kebabs hit the spot with a glistening succulence. If one were being harsh, one might ask for a touch more salt and vinegar on the chips, but otherwise, Rumbles cannot be faulted. Bellissimo.

Food good, portions huge. Only problem I have is the level of COVID security. Far too many people in the shop as was dealing with phone orders as well as new orders. It would not be difficult to have some arrangement when the collections wait outside until order is ready, likewise once order give we could wait outside. The team members do not wear masks nor did I see them wash their hands.

Cheap prices and good quality of foods. However chips are cold and quite soggy sometimes and it’s too thick to be honest. The staffs were not rude but definitely not kind and polite either. Some of them never smile and look can’t be bothered to work.
