Very soggy bun, with a greasy burger Chips were average at best and over salted For the price I have had much better The service wasn't overly friendly either

We decided to try for the first time their food. After checking the pictures on the internet we decided to order despite having read some negative reviews on tripadvisor. Big mistake. We ordered an Oklahoma and a One for Ella. Once home we discovered the burgers to be very greasy and the buns soggy. The same issue other diners had experienced. Very disappointed.

Outdated food. In an age where Pasture for Life accredits the quality of beef and seed oils are now known to be as good as car fuel. It’s a great shame to see a legend of Cambridge, stay stuck in its ways. GMO Grain fed beef and cooked in repeatedly heated seed oils (probably Canola) these burgers are unhealthy and unappealing. Butch Annie’s across the road are now “pasture for life” certified or Flat Iron cook theirs in tallow…..just how it used to be. I want to enjoy my food without it killing me. RIP S&H xxx

They make excellent sandwiches here, the price is a little high but it's worth it and you leave satisfied. The fries are also great. The service is very fast. They also offer a wide selection of beers, not the usual brands but . more particular brands. The only flaw is that the place is small and has few tables

Let down today by not only the burger but the customer service. I had the van local near my house so decided to treat my wife to dinner off. My burger was the Oklahoma. It came with 'special sauce'. Thinking it was like a house sauce I had no idea it was firey hot and was very disappointed it had no mention it was spicy/hot. I went back to thr van having spent 14 quid on the burger it was a complete waste of money all I could taste was chilli! The guys response was oh its always been like that (ref to the sauce). Oh well better luck next time. I'm Disgusted.

The brioche bun was soggy and the burger was overcooked. The overall quality of the food was not commensurate with the price.

The Steak and Honour burger van was in my area for an event and we decided to try the burgers and fries. I got a Classic burger, cooked well, which was fantastic! My daughter got a Plant Mitchell burger on a GF bun, which was also excellent. The fries were skinny ones and were very good. The bun on my burger was really tasty, almost like a bagel or pretzel bun.

Sid viscous. Double dirty drippy spicy funky my fingers were a sticky mess. Super shoe string fries were ace too. This is a FIVE STAR burger. Thank you.

This review is for their food truck, not the restaurant. Went to one of their pop-up vans and I can confidently say for 37 quid I can make much much better food. The fries were cold, the bacon an overdone sheet that didn't even snap because the burger was so wet. The "spicy" sauce had less spice than a bell pepper. The burgers were juicy but so hard to chew with no flavour Go out, buy your own steak, veg and potatoes and anyone with even a moducum of kitchen skill can make better

Had a very nice double for Ellie burger. Sadly they had no mushrooms in at the time, which would have made it perfect. I do recommend telling them, how you want your burger done, as some like it a bit juicier or more done.

My partner an I had cheeseburgers and we were actually disappointed. The meat was blunt and dry and wasn’t tasty. Prices were reasonable. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t recommend.

By far the best burgers in Cambridge!!! The milk bun is soft and delicious. The patty’s are so tasty and the bacon tastes like maple syrup. Everything about this place is fantastic - 10/10 recommend

Had “Steak & Honour” at the “Three Horse Shoes” in Comberton last night. Can only say one of the best Burgers I have ever tasted, absolutely amazing. So juicy you needed the chips to mop everything up. Brilliant! Will definitely be there the next time it’s at the pub.

Excellent burgers and huge portions.

We were welcomed in with open arms, banging late 90’s/00’s hip hop rnb pumping out. Helped my partner choose a Bernie Mac and then suggested the perfect accompanying beers. Our servers knowledge and time spent on us and other customers was just SPOT ON. Oh and the food was SUBLIME.

My recent visit left me with mixed feelings. While the service was quick and efficient, the overall experience wasn’t the best, since I went in with high expectations based on the reviews posted online! The highlight of the meal was the crispy fries. However, the burger itself wasn’t that tasty. The patty was noticeably overcooked and dry, lacking the juicy tenderness that one would expect from a quality burger. The cleanliness of the tables were a bit off-putting. We noticed crumbs and stains scattered across the surfaces.

Hands down the best burger in Cambridge (and perhaps in the U.K.). I learned about this burger joint through a delivery app called “Foodstuff,” which only works and partners with local restaurants (no chains). As it turned out, this restaurant is located right at the city centre of Cambridge, very close to my work. I am from Latin America and my journey for a decent burger in the city had been largely unsuccessful (and disappointing). After trying several pubs and burger chains, I could simply not find a single one that offered the bare minimum: a tasty and juicy burger patty cooked perfectly (medium or medium-rare). I was on the verge of giving up on burgers for good when I found Steak & Honour. This restaurant made me a believer again. It is certainly the best burger I had in Cambridge (and, I dare to say, in the country) and is totally worth a visit. My only criticism is that the fries were too salty. Other than that, everything was perfect! Please note that seating is available upstairs.

These burgers are NEXT LEVEL. I have had probably 20+ burgers from Steak & Honour over the past few years, and every single one has been nothing less than a 10/10 burger. Whether it's from the van or from the restaurant, these burgers are utterly divine. I am yet to find a burger in the UK that's tastier.

Food was great, the place was kinda small but decent Got served by the girl with half her arm missing, she’s awesome :) Definitely would come back

I have loved the burgers from Steak and Honour since I first came across them prior to a gig at the Corn Exchange. I've since visited the restaurant several times and also the food vans. The quality of the food is always excellent and they are good value for money.

Love this place, absolutely must if you are in Cambridge. Locally sourced ingredients and you can tell. Fantastic staff and great atmosphere.

No food purchased. Just beer from the window display. Check prices carefully before buying as the prices are not displayed but while the beer is lovely, its not worth the prices charged.

Never fails to disappoint. Top notch burgers, cooked just right. The Mac & Cheese side is worth trying. Also have a good range of meat-free options, and great stock of craft beers (incl low/no alcohol)

Dined in a year ago at Tivoli Cambridge where they’re based and was blown away by how tasty the food is. Then today spotted their food truck in Fordham and could not resist (don’t know why I left it a whole year to go back.) Anyway what my food photography skills lack, the food more than makes up for. In my top 10 burgers and I’ve had some amazing burgers in the uk, usa, and Dubai. Absolutely top place.

This place is good. Has a few food trucks that pop up in different places. The only reason why I have marked it down is that the burger buns are SO soggy. I think they must freeze them because they always feel and taste a bit wet! The burgers themselves are great. I can’t really comment on the atmosphere as it’s not a sit down. restaurant.

Both chefs are friendly and smiley but the burger is horrid; brioche buns are chewy and too buttery, patty is burnt, over cooked , smelly(smell like cheap and old meat from ICELAND), condiments are soggy and veggies are not fresh. The burger was binned right away, £8.5 quids are down to the drain. No wonder why there queue at FoodPark is the shortest. Sigh 😔 Will have to stick with Honest 🍔

OMG I cannot believe how good this was! Outstanding burgers, best fries ever. Great service, friendly, and flexible. My husband wanted cooked brown onions instead of raw red, and they just said "happy to do it". Note, I had the raw red onions and it added perfectly to a fantastic burger. Just the best. Try to get the stools by the window to watch Cambridge life whilst your burger is being cooked fresh for yiu.

Sadly a shadow of its former self. Visited today and the burger patties are now pre formed and were overcooked and dry. The juicy, crumbly, perfectly seasoned and flavourful beef is a thing of the past. The texture was more like boiled beef and sadly I have to say the "steak" in steak and honour is what let the meal down. I've been an avid fan from the first days of the van, through pop ups in Pint Shop and Novi. I was there for collaborations with other Cambridge food institutions and this is not the same steak and honour. For the first time ever, I have to say, if you want a burger that is closer in quality to the old days, go to Honest Burger.

The beef is perfectly cooked, it's really juicy, the fries are amazingly salted and drinks are very refreshing and delicious. New J'MAKIN' ME Hot is awesome

After a long day cycling, we was treated to a culinary delight. Chef was a little miserable, the lady taking orders/making things move was incredible. Polite, to the point. Food was lovely, service was great. If you’re in Cambridge and want possibly the best burger In town.

Went to the Tickell Arms beer festival on 27 May. Steak and Honour were the food van. before I went I checked on their web site which confirmed that they were there until 9pm. I tried to order some food at 7pm only to be told that they had sold out. No appologies, just a 'we can understand why you are disappointed' What is the old adage? You only have one chance to make a first impression. Next time they are the food provider I will take my own sandwiches

I was a loyal customer of this place when they first opened and made a beeline back here after having lived abroad for the last few years. The quality and flavor of the locally sourced beef is really quite amazing, and I was pleased to find that it hasn’t changed a bit. I really appreciate the attention to detail with different flavors and ingredients. Also, they have a really great beer selection! Enjoy!!

Ate from food truck at Pastore and everything was extremely salty. I tried to eat half a burger because it looks tasty but it is impossible to finish. Had to pat fries on a napkin to get rid of some of the salt. Not worth the price. I would not recommend.

The burgers are good but costs have been rising to the point where I no longer order takeout here. Almost £15 for a burger once you account for service/delivery fees, and that's without sides.

Excellent food stylish burgers incresibly tasty. Great for a burger when you want more than processed food.

First and foremost the portion sizes are humongous! The restaurant entrance is tucked up off to the side and runs across 3 floors. We sat downstairs which meant we could smell/watch the guys cooking our lunch. I do feel it didn't feel that cosy downstairs l, but the other floors felt more inviting. The burgers were juicy and absolutely loaded with toppings. Give it a go!

Unfortunately S&H are no longer the king of burgers. Some like it hot, used to leave your lips tingling, now it's not even spicy. Pattys used to be hand pressed, now are pre formed. They no longer have the best chicken burger, flipping the bird. Don't get me wrong, they are still good, and offer very good food! It's just they are not what they once were. And that's a shame.

Easily one of the best burgers in Cambridge. Differentiates itself from the other top players by being less "restauranty". Service is friendly and quick. Food excellent, good selection of beers.

Came here for dinner. The guy who served us was really helpful in making a decision. The meat and ingredients seemed to be really good in quality. I had the “Some Like It Hot” with the homemade jalapeño sauce. It was really good. The sauce was a bit too strong and inky left little space for the meat and cheese flavours. Fries really nice! The “one for ella” burger wAs more of my taste and I really like it. A lot simpler, but also quite balanced. The sauce was delicious. Good selection of craft beers and 3 floors to dine in. Good stop! Reasonable price and quick service. Also good music selection is always a plus!

Wow, where do I even begin with Steak and Honour? I have to say, this is hands down the best burger I have ever had in the UK. The juicy, smashed patties are just out of this world, they melted in my mouth with every bite. Although it's on the pricier side, I have to say it's worth every penny. The milk bun was a work of art, it held everything together perfectly and added to the overall deliciousness of the burger. I would highly recommend a visit to Steak and Honour if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

Tasty food and friendly staff!!

I visited here during the summer after work and it was worth the wait. The staff were really buzzing and clearly have a great team spirit. The burger was not cheap but was made with top quality ingredients and definitely worth the price. It’s miles ahead of any burger place in Cambridge hands down. The only small point that I would make was that I wish they toast the buns more-the soft bun struggled to keep up with the juicy goodness. Overall, I would highly recommend!

OMG this is the burger place you have been looking for all your life. The burgers are soooo messy but amazing flavours that melt in the mouth. This is what a burger should taste like. if you want something you will be dreaming and dribbling over and worrying that you've eaten something so good it must be bad for you then THIS IS IT. There is another burger shop further down the road and the burgers there are okay too and a lot less messy but who wants that when you can have unbelievably tasty and drool till you die. If you are in doubt what to order get ONE FOR ELLA, its insane!!!!

Words CANNOT describe how good this place is. I have previously had food from their vans, and that was top notch. But going in was even better. Meat was done to perfection. Chips little to salty but still really tasty, I love skin on fries I wish more places did this. The buns on the burgers were fluffy and had a beautiful taste and not too claggy Filled me up to the brim Needles to say will be going there again.

By far THE best burger I've had in the UK so far. The juicy smashed patties are to die for. Prices are fairly good, the bun is amazing. Only the available ingredients list is a bit small, but honestly I don't mind when the patties and the buns are that good. Definitely worth a visit!

The burgers a very good. No two ways about it. Not quite the most consistent. They're supposed to be open 12-21 on Saturday, we arrived at 16.40 and the door was locked. This is not the first time we found them closed during working hours. They did let us in after 5 minutes of waiting around (group of 10). We almost left. The seating upstairs was no available and they didn't say why. Also no seating outside. They definitely need to improve on the customer service and professionalism part. It would be a shame for a place with such good burgers to go out of business for poor management.

Got a burger today at the RAF mildenhall food truck thing today and it was a sopping wet mess, both buns were disgustingly wet, falling apart and I couldn't eat it without an entire roll of paper towels beside me. Ate half and quit. Will not be back. The cooks need to learn how to cook neatly.

This was a quick stop for us whilst in Cambridge. A really nice little quick burger but far better than usual fast food, tasty burger, nice sauce.

Sorry but the service was severely lacking. I had to go and find my food after waiting for quite a while, no mention of not bringing food up to the table when I ordered. No thank you or anything when we left, the staff were too busy eating ice creams. These are expensive burgers, I expected more. Probably won't bother going back.

Really well made burgers. 120g is the perfect size. Only wish we could’ve tried their chicken burgers on the day, but they were out of chicken. Service was excellent. Enjoyable experience.

Definitely my favourite burger in Cambridge. Whether from the shop or a van, they are fine quality and very consistent. Have recently discovered upstairs seating areas where you can eat your food in the warm and dry.

Came in for a burger and chips. Was advised of a 20 min wait no problem, asked to sit up stairs the girl said ‘I guess’ . The staff were clearly stressed, four young girls running a whole shop with online orders coming in, clearly able to see their panic as the upstairs was full of customers with no food. The 20 min wait changed to 40 min wait, we had a show at the corn exchange to catch! No one knew if the food came up or we had to go get it, some orders had a girl bring the food and some of us had to go find it. We didn’t dare ask any questions as the staff were so abrupt made us quite uncomfortable. The food, is amazing, it’s a huge shame. If you want to come for JUST FOOD absolutely must check this place out, if you’re coming for service and atmosphere maybe not.

Me and my family all had the Ella burger with fries and slaw from the van, was so yummy didn’t disappoint.

Best burgers in town! In any town!

The burger was good. However I ordered a side of Mac and cheese only to be greeted with two slabs of congealed and burnt to a crisp pasta swimming in what I assume was cheese sauce, but looked to be just pure grease. So disappointed as of heard good things about this place. See the photo and judge for yourself!

We had the Ella one and the hot chicken burger alongside two portion of chips. Both were amazing but the Ella one topped it! The sauce in it was phenomenal and they should really bottle that up. Fries were perfectly crispy and salty and a good size portion. Staff (I think owners) were lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend if you’re in Cambridge and want to support a small business!

Spent over £30 on burgers and fries for 2 . The girl serving in the van was totally inept and didn’t observe basic hygiene no gloves and rubbing her hands on her apron . As we were driving home we realised our order was not complete so had to go back ( no apology given just attitude)consequently when we got to eat our food was cold and to be honest no where near the usual standard we have experienced before might as well have gone to McDonald’s for a third of the price.

Great. My 2nd visit - I'd heard very good reports when they only had vans but have only got to this venue recently. Cheeseburger and fries - a 10 minute wait - very well worth it both times. Friendly staff and for my taste the best burger and fries I've had for a long time, perhaps ever. I prefer this to GBK, Byron, Five Guys, Honest Burger and Butch Annies - which all have their undoubted merits too!

My first experience of an S&H burger despite being aware of the brand for several years - dating back to when they just had the van(s). Had cheeseburger and fries; a fair wait (they were quite busy) but absolutely worth it. Best burger I've had for ages and excellent fries too; good portion sizes. £11 total and I would say the best burger I've had in Cambridge and one of the best ever. Friendly and helpful staff too. Well done guys keep up the good work!

Very nice and messy burgers, simple menu and great taste! Can't fault.

The burgers are the best in town in my opinion but I'm giving three stars because the van location stated in the website was not detailed enough that made us wonder for ages looking for the van. The location was Milton Country Park, but inside the park not the car park, which was not obvious and it was difficult to find, considering how many entrances the park has. Also there is no phone nr that you can call if you are having issues.

It’s 2021 but you would be forgiven in thinking it was 1984. The system has you locked in your homes where the only thing now left to do is mindlessly stare at screens which spoon feed you misinformation. Meat batteries plugged into the matrix. You sit inside the four walls where your phone archives your fingerprint and retina, your tv films every move you make and Alexa records every word you say. Soon all individual rights and freedoms will be eroded under the pretence of our own safety. One of the small freedoms we do have left is to purchase a steak and honour burger from their food truck and blimey what a burger it is. So good you might just elbow your own mother in the face to get your hands on one. 10/10. Only critique is middling fries.

Best burgers in town, reminds me of a good American takeaway burger, like In-n-out or Shake Shack. Perfect flavor.

Lockdown is tough on us all, I’m lucky enough to still be working and even luckier to work opposite Steak & Honour! Always happy staff and always amazing burger. It’s all about the Ella!
