The Ruby Lounge in Harrow

This new restaurant (now called Saras) is a great find. We went there on a Sunday evening after being recommended many times. The food was really nice, with generous portions, especially the Goan Fish Curry which was delicious. The staff was very accommodating and the chef is very good and he made a dish off the menu for us due to dietary requirements. Would recommend this restaurant to any locals and anyone visiting.

Methi chicken would have been good if it was called a chicken curry as the flavour or methi was almost non-existent. Delivery was quick. Food could have been tastier and would have got 5 star from me.

The food was probably the best I've had in a very long time. However, it was severely let down by the delivery (took almost 75 minutes) and there was no apology when I called up to chase.

really good food but the meat dishes were very light on actual meat - hardly any chicken in the jeera chicken, mainly plumped up with peppers and onions. if they put in more meat, would be 5 stars

This has been our local for years and we've always loved the food here. In particular the chili paneer and special wings. Since the new ownership took over a couple of years ago the decor has improved tremendously but it's come at the cost of the atmosphere that it used to have. It was guaranteed to be full or nearly full at the weekends but now it's often empty which is a real shame. We'll continue coming here though as the food remains delicious and we always get treated well as the staff all know us! The prices are perhaps slightly steep but not extortionate and the portions are very generous.

Since moving to North Harrow two weeks ago (by way of Tooting Bec and Brick Lane, so we know our Indian/fushion) I've been very impressed by how incredibly delicious the food is here. The Boy has travelled in Nepal a lot, and says the momos are very authentic. We both obsess about the tandori prawns. And the paneer is so light and fluffy and succulent I want to buy it wholesale for when I make paneer dishes.

One of the best Nepali/Indian takeaways I've eaten outside of sub continent. I can recommend the tandoori king prawn, momos, seekhs kebab and any of the paneer dishes

We've only had a drink here - good for a quick catch up on the sofas. Smells a little of damp, wish the owners would sort that out.

love this place! if you want tasty hot food delivered quickly then order from here. I've been ordering from here for a while now and never had any problems. All the dishes I've tried are amazing!

appalling service. Promised delivery at 21.40 food finally arrived cold and disgusting at 22.40. Driver was lost. No sat nav in the car this day and age. When I phoned the restaurant to complain about the delay was told by the woman who answered the phone to take it up with the owner who was going to deliver my food!!!!!! Will never order again .I do not live in a rural area......am less then 3 miles away from the restaurant on a road that is over a mile long and very popular bus route.

It was interesting reading the reviews. I am not sure whether the restaurant has new owners or a new chef but the food here is very good. The vegatarian momos (starters) are delightful - they have a depth of flavour and are really tasty. The prawn grill is lovely and the chicken and lamb dishes are lovely. We haven't had dessert here so cannot comment. The restaurant caters well for families with children and our five year old really likes to eat here. Service is slighty slow but the food is definitely worth it.

First time we have tried The Ruby Lounge and it was very good would use them again

yummy chicken momos, hot and freshly made chicken curry (on the bone), this place is a little gem in harrow.

food delivered fairly quickly, items were separated and individually well packaged, food was hot on arrival so no need to reheat, very well done and tasty (even for me, being an indian), welcomed extras like salad and papad and chutneys which we did not expect! Well worth it and good portions. Would def buy again!

Being in Harrow you expect fierce competition and this doesn't offer price or quality competition It's very average. The food is ok but takes long to arrive and is dear. Finally there is no atmosphere, it's never busy and there's no experience to be gained from a quite restaurant

Terrible! We went with family that are actually from Kenya and were here on holiday and they were extremely excited for this place we went there with empty stomachs because we had heard the food was fantastic... This was the biggest mistake we ended up waiting almost 2 hours for our food, I managed to leave the restaurant to pick my sister from a nearby station (Harrow Wealdstone) being new to the area got completely lost and still made it back to the table before our food!! When the food arrived it was cold and had to send it back to be reheated and frankly it was nothing great even then! This would still not be so bad if we werent the only people dining in the restaurant there were only a few people by the bar and to this day i don't know what took them so long!!! It's a real shame, hopefully we just went on an off day and this isn't their general standard but due to this I will never return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!

The Indian food with so-called Kenyan twist was tasty and made to taste (i.e. ask for mild or medium hot food and that's how it came cooked). The ambience was more like a sports bar with a big screen showing either cricket or football. In recent times the place seemed empty. The take aways ordered were filling and nice. However, last time we tried to order a take away the place seemed closed down!

Good curries, interesting food and you can watch the football too. Sadly for Watford fans, considering the place is not far away from Vicarage road, it was full of plastic ManUre types.

This restaurant serves Indian cuisine with a Kenyan twist. FREE Local delivery.- Function room - Live Sports on 3 Screens Outside catering for parties, cooperate events and BBQ'S at home. I reccomend the Lamb chops served on a smoking sizzler (delicious). Bupi wings are finger licking (chefs special). They have specials too, ask about the Desi lamb and Desi Chicken (just like mum makes it at home wow) This has to be one of the best no frills proper indian restaurants in harrow. Its always buzzing with families, couples or groups.Atmosphere is chilled, just try it.
