I needed to use the loo before I started, but before I was able to, in the toilet, 2 staff appeared both asking "can I help you" in a very menacing manner...I had noise cancelling headphones on so was unable to hear their entreaties to me upon entering..They seemed more concerned that I was just there to use the toilet than anything else!! Amazing..Never had this before, and certainly not ever in a Wetherspoons pub..so, I shall not be going back there, ever...very rude staff. I left very upset and used a toilet in another pub nearby where I also had a drink. Don't bother.

This is now one of my all time favorite places to visit in London, the food is great and very reasonable in price. They have a good selection of alcohol, very welcoming staff and on Thursdays and Fridays a dj playing music. the atmosphere is very welcoming, comfortable and anyone that pays this place a visit will have a great time guaranteed. The staff here will bend over backwards to help and are always providing service with a smile.

This pub serves pretty good food - surprisingly so because it's off the beaten track. We had the set menu (which has a choice of about 4 starters, mains and desserts. For me, the food was not quite at the 'excellent' level but was still very good. I liked the profiteroles which were each filled with a different cream or ice cream. Although it was quite quiet the night we went, it had a nice atmosphere.

We've been here twice. Once for a Sunday roast and again on a living social deal. The Sunday roast was fantastic and the portion hearty to say the least! This evening we had two courses each. The starters were outstanding. The garlic chilli prawns were delicious and I asked for a spoon to finish off the sauce and my other half had the seared tuna, also very good. The bbq ribs main were excellent. The cheeseburger was good but I prefer my burgers with a bit more texture and the beef patty was a little too finely ground for my palate - but that's my personal preference. The staff were absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble, and the decor is great. It's pretty female friendly and has some great and reasonably priced cocktails. The house red was not too shabby either. We will definitely be going back both to chill out with a few drinks and to eat.

Had saturday lunch with the mrs and was a lovely 2 hours. Nice unique decor. Friendly staff and though we were the only ones eating the food did take a while to arrive it was worth the wait. A very flavoursome steak! We will come back and try out an evening here soon!

My second time here, the first for the excellent Sunday roast a few weeks back, returning for a full 3 courses last Friday. Very interesting, quite quirky, decor, comfy sofas, or seated at tables. Very friendly staff, easy place to feel relaxed in. Would suit something a bit more formal, to dropping in on your way home, groups, couples, to solo. Varied menu, both food and wine, good prices, and what comes out of the kitchen is frankly superb! The chef produces consistently stunningly presented, and really good tasting food. We had the prawns for a starter and the lamb chops, cooked to our preferences, and all really excellent - the prawns nicely spicey, the chops tender, moist, really, really nice! Finished with the sticky toffee pud, soft, moist, delish!!!! Will be back!

We went to the Royal Standard for a Sunday Lunch not expecting much as a local pub but we were nicely surprised!. On arrival a cool decorated pub with a cosy atmosphere. A very friendly bartender informed us we were late for the Sunday Roast, usually served until 5pm,but offer to asked the chef who accepted to cook it for us. While we waited drinking a bottle of their red wine we were given a complimentary taster of a soup the chef was creating to include in the Menu; Carrot Soup with ginger and Cardamom. What a beautiful well balanced flavours!, a must have (hopefully is a keeper in their Menu). We waited a little long for the Roast but was worth the waiting.....very well presented and absolutely perfect!, the equivalent of a fine dine Restaurant. The beef was tender and juice, the roast potatoes crispy and the Yorkshire pudding fluffy and crispy and the gravy succulent!. For dessert we shared the profiteroles, again an excellent choice carefully prepared and presented. Very crispy, no soggy, filled with fresh cream and vanilla ice cream with a dark chocolate sauce and merengue dollops....amazing!!! We honestly didn't expect for a pub to deliver such a good meal and service and we will definitely go back and bring our friend to try their 'goats cheese with white chocolate' starter as it sounds amazing!

We visited the Royal Standard last night and what a treat!! Friends recommended it after a Christmas visit, and I am so glad they gave us the heads up. The food was really delicious, decent portions, innovative in parts and very good value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive, even turning the lights up over our table when some of us needed more light to read the menu!! its also looks like a fantastic place for socialising, with cosy looking sofa's and low tables. I will definitely be back - Thank you guys!!

The food here is good quality and great value. I had a schnitzel for under £8 assigns the portion is hugh. I have been here five times now and will definitely come. The quality has been consistently good every time. The fact that it is attached to a hostel may put some people off but I can tell you from my experience the clientele is good, all softly spoken and polite. The staff are friendly and courteous. It is one of the best gourmet bar I have been for awhile. Please come support this local gem.

I've been to the Royal Standard quite a few times now and the food is consistently excellent. The chef is a genius - a really inventive and ever-changing 'specials' menu and the dishes are created with skill and aplomb. Very tasty local beers and an enviable wine list - which includes an outstanding white Burgundy that I have been seeking out for years. Tucked away on a corner off Deptford Broadway and refurbished last year, there is also a hostel upstairs. Often there is live music on a Friday night which creates a wonderful atmosphere. If you're not a football fan, be warned that there is a huge screen that takes up one end wall that shows the big matches... Otherwise, a highly recommended place.

Lovely cute place, nice toasties, good coffee, nice service. My new breakfast place to go. I think they also have a donation drop off corner for Ukraine 🥰

This is a great example of a shop converted to a bar. I would consider myself a regular at Bob's. Child and dog-friendly, lovely staff, exciting selection of draught and bottled beers and great cocktails. It's not really a restaurant as such but has a link to the Cafe next door, so you can get food there. I recommend booking if you are going with a group as it gets very busy. Nice vibe!

I have been here a few times. It’s a bit overpriced for what it is and where it is. The first two times i went i got the burrito, which was really nice. However it comes with a poached egg and i asked for a runny yolk and it wasn’t runny (no big deal). The third time i went i got the meatballs and pasta which was really poor. It was a few very cheap meatballs with some penne pasta and tomato based sauce. It was very similar to what i used to have at school at lunchtime, certainly not worth the £8.45. On one visit my friend got eggs royale (which should always come with runny yolks in the eggs). He asked for the yolks to be runny anyway just to clarify. When the food came the yolks were hard. He then queried this with the waitress who told him that next time he needed to request “extra runny yolks” which i thought was a bit cheeky to be honest. Overall i don’t think i’ll be going back. The staff are a bit odd and not very accommodating and the food is overpriced and nothing special.

I eat here at least three times a week. The staff remember all of my favourites and can usually predict what I'm going to order. They really look after me. As well as your usual cafe menu, they also have a specials board, where you can get roast pork or shepherd's pie or steak pie (or whatever's on, usually multiple options) with all the trimmings, and for a very reasonable price, especially considering the quality of the food. On Fridays they usually do incredible fish and chips with a light and delicate yet crispy batter. But get there early to avoid disappointment, because the fish and chips often sells out by the end of lunch. In fact, I'm off there now...
