We played skittles there, a very nice friendly village pub. Not sure about their general food menu, but both teams received an excellent post-match chilli-con-carne & chips etc.. 👍👏

Popped in for a quick beer as I had to wait for a train. Good choice of beer, lively atmosphere and great service. Very friendly and had a lovely chat with the staff (unthinkable in Londkn!)

A proper pub,not many of them left,keep supporting your locals.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and while the main bar isn't that large, it never felt too small. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty, making me feel welcome during my stay. The food was very well presented and with good portion sizes for the meals. It didn't take very long to make either, leaving time enough for a pint after ordering before getting my meal. Definitely would go back, and would definitely recommend.

Lovely old style pub. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed the meat feast pizza and a few ales with some old friends. Certainly will return.

Nice enough pub, portions are very small, Cajun chicken burger which I had was minute, about twice the size of my finger, my daughters goujons were as big if not bigger. It was also very dry and in places crunchy. Overall not great value for money. Daughters had 2 scoops of ice cream for desert, looked more like 2 teaspoons full.

Had Sunday roast dinner and have to say it was a first-class meal, food was great plenty of it, desert was also great, service quick and friendly, great pub recommend you try it.

Stopped off for lunch while driving to the southwest. Lovely roast dinner and pint.

We're fortunate enough to live 85 steps from this gem! (that's going....). We had a suberb meal there this evening, it would seriously rival anything available in the UK's larger cities. Hobgoblin on draught too! Lovely staff, great service. Come and try!

The food at The Royal Oak is delicious , I had a steak which was cooked to perfection , the presentation was great too .The Pudding was delicious too .The girl who served us had such a lovely manner and nothing was too much trouble.Highly recommend for good food and a nice pub to sit outside .

Was just passing through, struggled to find a pub serving food. The people were very friendly and the food was great.

Went Saturday night for a steak dinner, beautifully cooked food. Enjoyed so much we went back Sunday for a roast which was equally superb. Highly recommended

Nice little pub! Has a nice selection of draught, kid friendly, and has quite a large outside section that has a lot of benches all nicely distanced. Would recommend if you're on a walk or just looking for a nice little pub for a couple hours!

Fantastic village pub with great, friendly staff. The food is delicious and the expanding choice of drinks is a great new addition. The expanded beer garden catches a lot of sun and is a brilliant place to enjoy a pint or 5!

This is our local pub and has just been taken over after been shut for a while. I went in the other day , first time since lock down. The new owners were so welcoming and friendly. They are still doing things to the pub . Great atmosphere.

Amazing amazing place with great service, one of the few country pubs that can really deliver on a new gastro menu AND feel like a the place I can come relax for a pint. Hood Sunday roast and I hope there are more country pubs like this in future! The UK needs that refreshed feel!

Wow, what a lovely surprise, the pub has been renovated by the new landlords and its really lovely with a great atmosphere. The food I have to say was exceptionally good pub food, really high quality, very reasonably priced too. Excellent service with a smile from Danielle, Linda and the team. We will defnitely be back.

Fab little pub. Very welcoming and family orientated. Always make us feel welcome and provide books, colouring books, pencils and games to entertain the kids. Food is good and very well priced. Would recommend the Sunday carvery, the gravys to die for and always plenty of meet. Would highly recommend.

Have visted this pub before and had a very good roast dinner. On our recent vist we were a group of four and booked for the sunday roast. On arrival we where informed there would be no roast as it was to hot and no one other than us had wanted roast but they were still cooking off the meanu .So we ordered one steak pie and mash ,one ham ploughmans lunch and two cheese ploughmans lunches. The pie was enjoyed . But each plougmans lunch came with bread that was so hard and dry you could not eat it the cheese ploughmans had a wedge of cheddar and two pickle onlons a bit of pickle and lettuce two fine slices of tomatoes and little bit of onion and coleslaw and the ham ploughmans had 3 bits of ham

had fish and chips here today despite being packed they were super fast cooking and serving our food it was all fresh and tasted fantastic with huge portions I am well and truly stuffed! :) the price was great as well
