The fish special on Wednesday is to die for.....best we have ever had at a reasonable price.. well done. Atmosphere lovely....staff great....what else do you need for a perfect meal

The food was lovely. We had the set menu but unlike ser menus at other places we've been to, the portions were very generous. The service was good and the food was hot and tasty.

Food was okay, but pricey for what you get.

One of the nicest pieces of fish I've had, really nice. £8.95 for fish and chips on a Wednesday, an absolute bargain! Staff are lovely, the place is done well and was busy on my visit. Would highly recommend.

Pub is nice and so is the restaurant. Food is nice and a good pint. This is the third time this has happened and we left early due to one of the locals and his barking dog. He openly winds it up to bark. This time, he was in a group and I thought enough so I challenged him politely. He informed me that he's a local and if I don't like it drink somewhere else. So we did. I wasn't the only one complaining. Landlord, you know who he is, please have a word.

Great food and service really recommended place to eat

Worst vegetarian meal I've half eaten, very very beige and bitter consisted of tagliatelle swimming in oil, pesto and pine nuts priced at an eye watering £15.95, I complained to a member of staff about the "meal" when paying bill for a party of eight, my complaint was treated with total I indifference. Needless to say I will not be making a return visit.

Went with the family tonight and wasn't disappointed! Food was delicious, service very good with friendly and helpful staff, and excellent meal was had by all. Highly recommended 😋

First visit for 4 of us. Very busy pub, good atmosphere. Restaurant very nice. Cod cheeks starter excellent, as were the buffalo wings. Gyros, kebab, steak all had good feedback. I picked a tandoori pork chop off the specials board. My criticism is that it’s difficult to cut a pork chop in a bowl and it needed a sauce, it was all dry elements, rice, bhaji. Stand out was the blonde waitress, sorry I should have taken her name, excellent. Informative, friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back 😃

very very expensive for drinks and some of the food but I have never paid £4.75 for a pint of Worthington beer that is one of the cheapest its not the money its the feeling of been ripped off

The review for the Royal Oak Inn, this place I travelled a little outmy way, to try this place, as never been. Didn't know what to expect. There was plenty of parking and the place was clean. The waitress was very polite and asked all the right questions. Food service was ok coming from the kitchen, so no long waiting times. Menu was many choices all a little upper class from a standard pub. The food was good, and the scampi chips are my standard meal in all places as then i can compare. This time, it's one of the best. Real chips and plenty of scampi, therefore no complaints. Overall, it was a nice place and good service . It was not a bad price as I took the option of two dishes and set price. Had to be done main mean and dessert 🍨. Just over £20 including drinks I had.

We are on the 12th July. Very good food, just one comment my wife had the liver and bacon dish but she found it overcooked, to be fair it is a matter of taste. We further ate Sunday lunch on the 14th which was very pleasant, service needed booking up, a couple of requests were either ignored or forgotten. We will be going there again.

Great village pub that's buzzing. Great choice of food. Good selection of beers. Good to watch the football.

Regularly visit for lunch. Food always freshly cooked to a high standard, very friendly staff and a good reasonably priced menu. Excellent venue.

Wednesday fish and chips special is great value & usually absolutely delicious. Went this week and it was disappointing, the fish was strangely watery, went two weeks ago and it was amazing.

Don't order the sausage and mash very small for its price

Spent two hours catching up friends. The service was first class even tho the restaurant was busy. Food was delicious and plentiful. Portion sizes perfect. Prices where reasonable Been several times before and is one of my favorite places to go. Will recommend to friends and family.

We went on Thursday 28 March where they had a Fawlty Towers Evening. It was really funny and the place was packed, food was excellent and service and atmosphere first class, will definitely recommend a visit..

Came here the back end of last year for the first time. Found it a nice environment to dine and was well looked after. We all had 3 courses and was very pleased with each one. Cheesecake was the star of the show

A very pleasurable experience. Lovely people and top notch cuisine. I would advise to call first to reserve any speciality dish as they do have a quick turnover. Danny was very attentive.

Very disappointing evening at the Royal Oak. Previously we have had exceptional meals here so recommended to friends that we should eat here on New Year's Eve. Our friends booked the table via the online booking and received confirmation of our time of 6.40pm. However on arrival we were told we'd come at the wrong time, we had to prove to staff that we were at the correct time but staff made no apology for their mistake just pointed us to an available table. All but one special was already sold out at 6.40pm and many of the main menu items were also unavailable. Which we found disappointing for these to be sold out so early in the evening. This meant that out choices were limited. My husband and I chose cod cheeks for starters. These were basically 3 battered fish balls, the batter was greasy and flavourless. Our friends had the garlic mushrooms which had very few mushrooms and a lot of bread. For mains I had the hanging chicken kebab which was tasty but my plate seemed to be overwhelmingly full of peppers as the salad had peppers and the kebab had peppers. My husband and one friend had sea bass. This was served in a bag that was wrapped in tin foil. For a presentation point of view it looked messy and from a burnt finger point of view it was nearly impossible to open. My husband commented that it was tasteless which he was disappointed with as he loves Thai inspired flavours. Our friend had requested chips with hers but was told chef won't do that! The final meal was beef ragu. This looked very dry but our friend stated the pasta was wet and soggy. Finally deserts. Everything on the menu was dairy based so that meant I was unable to have anything. My husband had chocolate brownie which he said was OK. Our friends ordered a lemon meringue pie to share. However it was tiny. So they were very disappointed. The atmosphere was dull with no music and staff polite but unfriendly. As we left there were no smiles or thank you for coming. Overall it was a disappointing experience 😕

Went here for our Xmas meal. I started with poached pear, goats cheese and balsamic salad,which was unexpectedly good the had a salmon main course with seasonal veg, which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. For desert I had a sticky toffee pudding which was absolutely glorious. Most of my friends had roasts, topped with massive Yorkshire puddings. Since we went during the run up to xmas, the bar are was very crowded and w had to wait for our table to be ready in th the restaurant area. Overall I was very happy and will be taking friends there at the next opportunity.

I booked a table for my friends birthday today, the restaurant was cold. We asked the waitress in a green shirt for the Christmas meal as the menu was on the table, I felt she was quite rude and informed us we needed to prebook our meal 48 hours prior. I said well the menu is on the table and as its only two people cany we have it. She then repeated about only prebooking. Not very helpful. We ordered from the other menu, was very dissapointed as it was a treat for my friends birthday. In future I will go the the Fish in Cleethorpes as the staff there cannot do enough for their customers.

Wife really enjoyed her Angus burger, although it bumps the bill up to add cheese and bacon and an extra patty. She only wanted the cheese and bacon, didn't get the pulled pork that was advertised? I had the sausage mash and veg. The veg was very hard. Which is personal choice i guess. I had the lemon meringue pie and ice cream. Which was nice. Wife had the chocolate Torte, which she also enjoyed. The ambience in there is great. The staff who served us were very polite and professional. One complaint is the hard dining room chairs. Which need replacing!

Very nice think the light bite menu should be extended until 7pm and not 4pm was very disappointed with the answer I got.

I went for Sunday lunch with my daughter. The food was piping hot, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and warm. I have to say this was definitely one of the best Sunday lunches I have had. Will definitely return again and again! The lady who first came to our table for our drinks order was particularly efficient, helpful and friendly.

Food always really good staff always accommodating and welcoming, lovely atmosphere I’ve done a large birthday group/ Christmas/ small groups and as a couple it accommodates for all.

Just been the seafood platter was rubbish it was that rubberie u could have used it for a power ball when my sister complained the managest got her some more which was again rubbery wen asked she was told that they were the same in which she replied that the chef had tried and that he found them OK. There was no sorry won't be going back I think the chef need to go back to collage or change your supplier

We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was a bit pricey for us; had one drink because the football was on, but the people there were friendly.

Booked a table for 7pm, when we got there we were abruptly told the table was booked for 6:40pm. Then we were told the food would take 40 minutes because we were late, the food came 15 minutes later. The chicken was dry and tasteless, chicken kebabs were mostly onion and tacos were bland. After the main meal we tried to order extra drinks separately at the bar and were told they have to be ordered at the table and can't be paid for separately. Overall a disappointing experience.

Very limited time with your table if your not ordering anything else especially when you have to make reservations, your still time limited 6 of us eating and drinking big bill, big tip but still felt rushed,especially as it was first time of meeting LONG LOST FAMILY, FLOWN IN FROM USA.

Food and menu quite good but a little too expensive for pub grub. Bar is sports bar and can be crowded and noisy.

The service was excellent. Food was brought out piping hot and the price was very reasonable. The staff were all very friendly too. Will definitely be coming back here and would 100% recommend this place to others.

Very disappointed group of 4 for ane evening meal on 12 June to celebrate two ladies birthdays. All ordered fillet steak strogonoff the meat was not tender in fact my wife had to leave the table because she had a piece of unchewable gristle I find it difficult to believe the meat was fillet. My wife changed her meal for a Thai curry which while was tender was quite bland and not as spicy as Thai curry should be, we had all finished eating when the second meal arrived which totally ruins the ambience. We had intended to have extra drinks but left has soon as we finished eating They did not charge for my wife's meal but even then the bill was £160, this is venue is not good value for money pub grub at over inflated prices if you want to spend £200 on special meal go somewhere else

We were seated in the bar which was a bit noisy due to the sport although it wasn't a problem for me. The service although a bit slow was fine, there was only one lady on her own serving the tables (allowed for our main course to go down before we ordered desserts). Our party had beef Stroganoff, steak and ale pie and the trio of sausages. Although the sausages were fine (I ended up with one) my son didn't like them as they were Lincolnshire style sausages so too strong in flavour for him and maybe if it had indicated on the menu that they were Lincolnshire he would not have chosen this dish. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding and the hanging oak dessert (like a kebab skewer with marshmallows, fudge pieces, waffle pieces, cookie dough and brownie pieces). This was REALLY nice. Not a cheap place to eat, probably would go again but might try to get seated in the restaurant part next time. Plenty of parking available.

Went to a 60th birthday party .. food was fab service even though they were young folk they were all very nice and lovely manners the food was great to we had a party off 11 and had to pre order our food so it would all come out at the same time which it did Well done the puds were fab too.. i was driving today so cant comment on the beer .. but will go back to find out .. 11 out off 10

Came for a Christmas party. The bar was busy and food was being brought out through the standing people - it felt like we were constantly in the way. Once we were seated it was fine. The food was very nice and it was an enjoyable evening

Enjoyable meal, plenty of choice, maybe a bit pricey but where isn't these days ! Be aware a side portion of onion rings is enough for probably 3 people.

Went for early lunch, asked to wait in empty bar with music at max volume. Ordered lattes while we waited. Just at the point of giving up on them, two scolding glasses of boiling dishwater were put in front of us. Might have persevered with lunch if someone had smiled at us once.

Went for Friday lunch and opted for a pudding after, don't get me wrong the food was lovely. The problem was, when the pudding came out the plate had not 1, but 3 big chips out of the plate. When I mentioned to the member of staff, she just brushed it off and said I will pass it on. Then when I said about a child having the plate, still the same response...... No apology off her or anything, just I'll pass it on and took the tableware away.

Nice refurb, great real ales, fantastic fish and chips, great service and finally no wellies needed in the gents!

Bit disappointed this time, yes food was good but waitress didn't explain that with the roast dinner you got a started and pudding with main course. So we ended up paying over £19 just for a roast dinner. More training needs to be given. Must add though that the roast beef was delicious so compliments to the chef on that note.
