Arrived on a, what looked like very busy evening. The staff explained that they were busy but they should be able to fit us in with a delay of about 25mins - sounded perfect with a drink while we waited. Staff then were able to get us in sooner - the food was on point and very tasty! Great atmosphere and brilliant staff. Would recommend! Thank you.

Dined with friends and we all live locally. I had chicken Kiev, obviously home made and was lovely. Friends made a tapas selection from lite bites. Nothing pretentious just lovely food, great selection of beers and a warm welcome. It's not rocket science and yet so many places get it Soon wrong!

No food apprantly even though it was quiet in there for a sunday and people were ordering around us. Had to have a booking but the website didn’t make that clear

Not so simple dining when you’re expected to book in advance to be served, even when it’s very quiet in the restaurant! Also only informed of this bizarre and unique rule after we’d spent over £20 on a round of drinks. Told they’d sold out of food when groups were ordering at the same time as us, I understand their rule is you have to book but when people haven’t pre-ordered then surely they could’ve fit us in… clearly not bought in specially for each table so seems like a redundant rule. Wouldn’t have stung so much if the beer was decent and if the staff were understanding. I’d have taken a bit of roast beef they found in the back of the freezer… if only they were clear about having to book online to get any food!

Great pub, so much bigger than the entrance suggests, huge beer garden to the rear, cosy bar and dining areas. Called in twice over the weekend, lunchtime drinks in the garden, then to watch a band in the evening. Great atmosphere, looking forward to returning.

Couple in with a VERY loud barking dog, VERY annoying, there was 9 of us and were ready to leave but thankfully they left, Staff should have picked up on this and asked them to keep their dog under control, they even let it lick food off the plates and table, not acceptable, 🤬🤬

Absolutely glorious little pub with rooms. Made smart recently but all the original features kept. Beautiful beams floor bar and walls. Lovely rooms, simple but smart and modern feel but again original features. And most importantly the amazing Fell Brewery beers on tap and hand pull. Very highly recommended.

Great little pub in the heart of Cartmel. We stopped here for lunch after a good walk and their selection of local beers is brilliant. Lovely light bite for lunch and made to feel dead welcome (even with mud up to our knees!).

We stopped for dinner, group of 6 of us (5 adults + 1 child.) I had the cheeseburger and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was friendly but not over the top. Two family members tried a few of the local pints and they were also delicious, especially the cherry cider. Definitely on the more pricey side, but I'd pay it again for how nice the food was. Being able to bring the dogs in was just an added bonus.

First camping trip pub we ever went into back in 93 aged 18. Sad to see it closed today. Major rebuild in progress and will be I recognisable. So I'll never see how it was again.

Disappointing birthday celebration meal for my wife. While the service was good and the atmosphere was OK the food was poor. The main couses were disappointing. The lasagne my wife ordered was particularly poor. It lacked meat, and the dish was swimming in oil. The dish was so poor, my wife only ate a couple of mouthfuls , and then we swapped dishes she had some of my Betullas pasta. I got half way through the lasagne but gave up. It made such a poor impact I didn't want to eat anything else.

I booked a meal for 10 tonight for a work do. We had a problem with two people being late but nothing was too much trouble for them and still accommodated us. The food was amazing, large portions and well cooked. Not one person had the slightest negative. I am going to visit with family next as it is amazing
