Couple in with a VERY loud barking dog, VERY annoying, there was 9 of us and were ready to leave but thankfully they left, Staff should have picked up on this and asked them to keep their dog under control, they even let it lick food off the plates and table, not acceptable, 🤬🤬

Absolutely glorious little pub with rooms. Made smart recently but all the original features kept. Beautiful beams floor bar and walls. Lovely rooms, simple but smart and modern feel but again original features. And most importantly the amazing Fell Brewery beers on tap and hand pull. Very highly recommended.

Great little pub in the heart of Cartmel. We stopped here for lunch after a good walk and their selection of local beers is brilliant. Lovely light bite for lunch and made to feel dead welcome (even with mud up to our knees!).

We stopped for dinner, group of 6 of us (5 adults + 1 child.) I had the cheeseburger and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was friendly but not over the top. Two family members tried a few of the local pints and they were also delicious, especially the cherry cider. Definitely on the more pricey side, but I'd pay it again for how nice the food was. Being able to bring the dogs in was just an added bonus.

Lovely beer garden at the back. A quiet spot to enjoy a drink right in the centre of town. Friendly staff.

Excellent food, and good choice of real ales, including gluten-free options for myself. Would definitely return.

Lovely stay! Beautiful rooms in a beautiful location. Cartmel is delightful and charming without all the hustle and bustle of other hotspots in Cumbria

Staying in the village, this was an obvious place to try. Although there are vegetarian options, we negotiated a fully loaded vegetarian pizza. No questions, and they delivered one of the best pizzas outside of Italy. Really. More Pinsa than pizza, for those of you who know. Most excellent. OK, so there was less choice of beer than they would have had normally, but I honestly can't hold that against them. For service, flexibility, and friendliness, Poppi Red is exemplary. Thanks.

Great. Two haddock, two large chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Haddock was best taste chip shop fish I can recall and the batter was perfect flavour and crispness. Very good portions of chips - Don't change this! Mushy peas and curry sauce great too. Everything freshly cooked whilst we waited for a very short period of time and all hot. The lady who served us was very polite and friendly. Thank you!

Very tired and in need of complete renovation and it shouldnt have been advertised as a four star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful working under poor conditions. Breakfast choice poor unless you like eggs and the vegetarian full English was dry and obviously been kept under a heat lamp. Definitely not 4 star and I understand the day after we left the hotel was closed for renovation.

Went here for dinner and afternoon tea. Both lovely, good food and service. Obviously a pricey location but worth it. Better than the W restaurant
