Stopped off for coffee (and decided on lunch as well) after Jubilee event. Hand sanitiser available at entrance. Can get very busy at lunch/evening so might need to book if you want to have s meal. Pub grub menu was varied and reasonably priced. Food took a little while because kitchen was busy but we were warned so no problem Food was plentiful and well presented. Staff clean, polite and friendly. Bar area was clean and tidy. Toilets (ladies) were clean but not easy for disabled access or limited mobility. Would go again.

We were staying locally and ate at the Royal Oak every night. The service and food were both excellent - highly recommended. Huge thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome.

On circular walk from Briantspuddle and called in for lunch. Service and food were brilliant! Would thoroughly recommend from what we and other customers were eating!

We were pleasantly suprised, good value food and drink, and both high quality. We visited during a circular walk from Wooders Campsite through to Bere Regis and back enjoying toasties and a cider here at the mid point.

A GEM use it or loose it. I only went in for a drink and snack whilst out and about around Bear Regis. I will attend again during June, July, Aug, Sept...

Cannot score rooms as we did not stay here. Apart from this we did eat here and it was a brilliant meal. All four of us ate extremely well and went home very full. 5 * all round to everyone in the kitchen & elsewhere.

We stopped for a quick lunch on the way to the sea. Excellent cuisine, clean environment and friendly and helpful staff. Honorable mention for the onion rings: the best I've ever eaten! I absolutely recommend

I was staying at the Royal Oak for Easter, I pointed out a few issues and management could not have been more reactive and went over a beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They hide their light under a bushel and are too shy to advertise their environmentally-friendly incentives in the rooms. If you need to stay in Bere Regis, go for the Royal Oak, it is comfy and quiet and you'll get a great service.

We ate only at this pub. Small but friendly. Portion size of Salmon Linguine was at best small. Hunters chicken was better, but for my partner to finish before me is a first after many years so not good. Enough salmon but not enough pasta to bulk it out. Price is OK.

Bere Regis is an interesting historic Dorset town going back to the 13th century with a church worth visiting and links to Thomas Hardy who lived nearby. The Royal Oak has been under new management for a couple of years. It's a reliable place, cosy and characterful and our group Sunday lunch today was good. They don't do roasts, which disappoints some. A star lost as the food was rather slow despite preorder.

Went into the pub for a drink, very nice friendly staff. Went there the next day for dinner, and was met with overcooked dry meats, cold chips and overall poor service. It was a real shame as the location and look of the pub is great.

We're not local, just climbing and paddling along the south coast. After a long day on the sea, we decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips. The chips were golden and how chips should be. Phil was happy that he got to eat haddock, I went for cod. Both our meals were respectful portions. The staff are excellent: the girl on the till noticed that we had been overcharged, so gave us £4 back. We didn't realise, so thank you for your honesty x

Pokey room with a crap wire spring mattress on a slat bed, as old as the hotel ? Pillows marginally better, but also not good At least it was a queen bed (not double as a few places have) Only 1 mug in the room (couldn't be bothered raising it, but how do housekeeping not check) Quite disappointed Staff very friendly
