Came here on a bit of a whim one week as we’d heard about the Quiz Night being hosted and have been back every week since. Andy and Helen (and Milly!) are great owners and make everyone in the pub feel welcome. Different food vans are brought in each week to add variation and the quiz and table service on drinks just add to the atmosphere. If you’re ever around, go down and check it out. It’s a great pub and run brilliantly!

Such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Andy and Helen the landlords are great, and the bar staff always have a smile. Love the regular Tuesday night quiz which raises money for charity. This pub does the best roast potatoes I have ever eaten on a Sunday. Dog friendly too.

Booked for 2.00pm (there are two sittings 12.30 and 2.00). Asked to wait (or eat) in bar as table not ready. Taken to table at 2.35. GOOD Meat roast loin of pork excellent – good quality supplier, cooked well. 9/10 Parsnips – well cooked, freshly done 9/10 Service 9/10 POOR Frozen peas, corn, cauliflower, mashed potato and (I hope I am wrong), out of a packet). All tasteless. 2/10 Tinned, tasteless carrots (in a restaurant on the edge of the Black-fen carrot-growing centre of the world!) 1/10 Pudding: apple & rhubarb crumble. Tasted of cheap fat (butter substitute?). Apple seemed not freshly done (although fruit in season), rhubarb scanty & green. Ice cream OK. 4/10 COST £15.95 main course, £5.75 pudding Total £21.70 – expensive for the quality Average 4/10 SUGGESTION Please buy and prepare fresh seasonal vegetables - cabbage, leek, broccoli, carrot, parsnip, potatoes - ditch the tins & packets. Many lunch clubs look for good pub food. I belong to seven but could not recommend this place – unless big improvements are made.

Visited the Royal Oak for Sunday lunch to celebrate our daughters 19th birthday as a family of four. Options of roast beef or roast pork on that day. Two of us had beef and the others had pork. Absolutely no complaints if you want a good healthy portion size with 6 different vegetables. Nice selection of deserts too. Andy the landlord also did a little birthday cake for our daughter as well. Nice little touch! Good service and reasonably priced.

Visited for food with my family, staff were lovey, the food was home cooked and fantastic! One of the party was vegetarian and was very impressed as it was so well catered for. Great range of beers and nice to have a modern pale ale on tap too! Will 100% be back, we’ll done to the owners

Stumbled across this lovely little pub for lunch with husband, my son, his wife and grandchildren aged 4 and 3yrs. Staff were very accommodating, and arranged the tables for us, so we could all sit together. The service was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was fresh and cooked very nice, and they catered for a few northern requests 😂 Would definitely return and highly recommend. Thankyou for our lovely visit

We called in on the way home and were surprised to find this little gem. Newly decorated and under new management, we were made to feel very welcome. The menu was traditional pub fare and we enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie , home made and delicious and not expensive.

As locals, my wife and I have been using the Royal Oak since it was taken over by the new landlords last year who are doing a great job. Food is now back on the menu, and we ate there last night. The menu is traditional pub fare, but nothing wrong with that if it is done well—which it was! Excellent steak and ale pie for me and Fish and chips for my wife. The chips in particular were the best I have had for a long while. Prices are also very reasonable. We will certainly be back for other meals and try other things on the menu.

Excellent food quality and service. Friendly people, relaxed aptmosphere, good menu, including plant based alternatives. Would suggest a local real ale from one of the fabulous nearby brewaries, although the Fullers London Pride on offer was served in tip top condition. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

We had never eaten Turkish food before so the waitress and chef explained each item on the menu for us. They are clearly passionate about their food which also incorporates Caribbean and Greek influences. The food was exceptional and should be on everyone’s visit list when in the area. It was also excellent value for money. We couldn’t have received a friendlier welcome and had a great evening. We can’t recommend highly enough!

Recently visited the area and we are so glad to have come across this place, such a friendly welcoming vibe from the start. Great staff and an absolutely awesome food menu with fantastic vegan options, can’t wait to return and sample more! The freshly made vegan kofta was delicious and the helim fries so creamy and good, the vegan burger was unreal, both me and my fella (non vegan) had one…words don’t do it justice it’s a must to stack up and try! Can’t recommend this place enough if your looking for a laid back friendly vibe coupled with great food and drink

If you would like something a little different do try the Royal Oak at Warboys. A charming couple provide Turkish food to a high standard which is delicious and different. The chicken wings were the best we have ever tasted, the croquettes were oozy and lush with mac and cheese and jalapeño fillings. I had a Meze box filled with a variety of tasty delights and My wife had Sea Bass which was cooked to perfection. We finished our meal with Turkish coffee and baklava served on the most beautiful tray of Turkish design. This couple deserve to do well as they were gracious and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We shall be going back for more

We decided to go for an easy Sunday roast and a drink with all the family, just to keep it easy really. I didn’t know what to expect , other than a standard pub roast. However I was so impressed, every element had been cooked and presented with care. Such great flavour and so tasty. Good quality ingredients done well. Reasonable price and great value for the roast we received. The sides of Cauliflower cheese, stuffing balls an absolute must.
