Reunion lunch for old pals. Charming thoughtful and kind staff.Pleasant environment. Good standard of basic English Sunday lunch choices , more than adequate portions and complimentary pudding Black Forest Gataux inlieu of under cooled vegetable. Decent house merlot and coffee. Thankyou

The ease of access with wheelchair is great, I noticed pets are allowed also, however it's not cheap, my plate had piccalilli stain on it my sandwich didn't come with piccalilli, and my grandmother sandwich did but we asked for no piccalilli with her's so there shouldn't have been any, plus one of her sandwiches had a piccalilli stain on it, were very lucky we asked for none due to preference rather than an allergy. The staff were very nice however for the price of the food I would expect better quality. The hot chocolate fudge cake was the best part of the meal.

We have been visiting this place for Sunday lunch, for afternoon drinks and snacks. Nice, homely atmosphere in the restaurant, tables for eating dinner and very comfy leather sofa areas for sitting to enjoy a drink, some nibbles or afternoon tea. Afternoon teas should be booked in advance. Sunday roast was plenty, veggies nicely cooked not to hard, not to soft and nice presented. Also appetizers are well presented. You have to place your order at the bar, but food will be served. Outside the hotel are car park options, also on the road. You should register your registration with the receptionist to avoid parking tickets. Toilettes are clean and tidy. Hotel is close to the beach and in the begin of a street full of beautiful old cottages and a nice park area.

Only used bar/restaurant. Staff usually ok but had to repeat to barmaid order and then she got it wrong. Nice clean place, always parking available (make sure you enter your number plate on tablet at reception when arriving). Food is fairly good but prices are a bit steep though.

Amazing place with brilliant service and great food. You can get to the Liverpool city centre by underground so you can leave you car in their safe parking lot. Breakfast is very tasty and really full.

We called on to the Royal hotel 45 mins before the end of service. The staff accommodated the 4 of us and we had a really nice evening. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. We went after a recommendation and will definitely be going back again soon 🙂

Regular round the corner haunt for us! Always welcoming and staff are competent and friendly. Highly recommend for any reason to meet family or friends.

The Royal hosted me and 40+ family members for Sunday lunch. The food, considering the amount of people catered for, was excellent. It arrived on time, hot and was a great Sunday roast. I then stayed the night in one of their family rooms and it was very comfortable, clean and well presented. The staff where all friendly and helpful and the breakfast the next morning was on par with the dinner.

Wonderful food, their home cooked ham is delicious. Lovely staff, very nice and cosy seating area, comfy chairs and d not silly prices. Can't fault it 😁👍

Attended a group Christmas dinner. Food was fabulous and all served together, hot, plentiful and delicious. Very impressed.

The perfect place to stay while visiting Liverpool, a quiet area opposite a park and beach, 5-10 minute walk to the train station. We had a lovely weekend here and would definitely stay again if in the area. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice, pastries, fruits, cereals, juices, tea/coffee, plus a cooked option too, I had full English one day, and a delicious avocado and salsa on toasted sourdough ciabatta the following day, also plenty of vegetarian/vegan options for my friend. We didn't have any other meals expect sandwiches to take up to our rooms later in the evening to watch a movie, which was also good. The staff were brilliant, especially the breakfast host, she was busy but still made sure everyone was happy and catered for. Carpark onsite too. Highly recommend a stay here

Visited for lunch which starts at 12.00 the room was clean and the staff were young friendly but busy. The meal was lovely Turkey and stuffing sandwich with salad and cranberry sauce.

We have used this venue on a few occasions, for various events, including our wedding 45 yrs ago, so have no problem recommending for just a nice meal, or any function, the staff are very helpful, and the choice of food is great.

Great place to stop for a coffee or a bar drink if you are in the area. The food is tasty and a good price and the staff are very friendly. Not stayed in the hotel myself but friends have stayed and given good reports for each stay. I would recommend a visit.🙂

Good clean facilities. The hot breakfasts are delicious. Only complaint that I have is that the radiator and room thermostat were both set at 0 when I checked in. The room was so cold and took ages to heat up. I went to sleep cold, it wasn't a nice experience. If I stayed again in the future, it'd be nice for the room to be set at warmer temperature. I would stay again though.

My wife and I have just come back from a 1 week’s stay at the Royal Hotel in Liverpool. We decided to stay at this hotel in part based on the really good reviews from other guests and visitors. Based on our experience, the reviews are absolutely on point. The double room we stayed at was quiet (I specifically asked for a quiet room as I'm a light sleeper), even though it was on the first floor above the reception/main entrance. We had a decent view of the sea front even though we did not specifically book this type of room. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and tea/coffee facilities ample. We were pleasantly surprised that the TV included all the streaming options (e.g. Netflix, Prime, Disney +). The hotel had everything we needed for a great stay. It has a restaurant and separate bar area serving high quality food and drink throughout. The breakfast options and quality were excellent, they have something for every taste from full English and vegan/vegetarian options to eggs benedict, kippers and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. On top of this, as many pastries, fruit, tea/coffee, cereal, yoghurt, toast as you can handle. All the staff at the hotel were very warm and welcoming; special mention to our waitress Liz who served us so well at breakfast and had a very friendly conversational style. Another special mention to Greg and Erin on reception who assisted us greatly with any questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel also benefits from free parking which is a real plus. There are no lift facilities however staff help with luggage if required. The hotel is perfectly located for travel into Liverpool City Centre as Waterloo train station is literally 5-10 min walk away, only 20 mins from there to the centre. If we ever return to Liverpool, the Royal Hotel is where we are staying. My wife and I recommend it to anyone.

Just enjoyed a brilliant couple of days around celebrating our golden wedding anniversary with a buffet lunch for 30 in the function room. Our room was beautiful and everything felt brand new - couldn’t have been more comfortable - and same for all our guests. The whole style and atmosphere of the hotel was easy, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and generous to a fault, and the location ideal - obviously warmth and sunshine helped too. Entirely satisfactory!

Great staff, breakfast, location, and general vibe. Very much enjoyed our stay, quiet and clean, and good value for money. It is perhaps in need of a bit of modernisation here and there. And of course there are only so many sea view rooms. Overall recommend and would happily stay at again.

Stayed here while visiting family in the Waterloo area and it was great for a short stay. This hotel is located close to the beach and many nice restaurants. There was many choices for breakfast and the quality was very good. We didn't dine here in the evening but the food looked good. The hotel is in an old historic building but it is nicely decorated and has lots of charm, although it doesn't have an elevator which could be an issue for some people. All the staff were very helpful and the service was fantastic!!

Nice food, and a nice size meal too (quality and quantity), one of the best breakfasts in crosby, although you need to look carefully as it's hiding at the bottom of the back page. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely building and atmosphere, pleasant staff and just a great experience. Never been before but will make an ideal for go for a special occasion. Update: Went for lunch, food was great, beautifully presented and hot! Staff lovely too.

I can't recommend the Royal Hotel highly enough. Rooms were very clean and incredibly comfy. Everything was catered for. All the staff were brilliant, very welcoming and friendly and so very helpful. The dinner and breakfast were superb and a great variety. 👍

We stayed in the Royal Hotel with family in 3 rooms last weekend. The purpose of our visit was a Celebration of Life party following a family funeral for which we booked the function suite. All the reception staff were so friendly and helpful to us when booking and planning our event. On the day of the celebration the cheif and all bar and serving staff put us at ease and made sure everything went smoothly. We had a family room which was a good size, clean, well presented and met our needs. The event buffet was plentiful and excellent quality and the breakfast next morning very tasty. A huge thank you to all the staff at The Royal, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The food is great and the (all important) bed was great too. It is a 5 minute walk from the local train station and shops. The beach is close by and the famous Iron Men. Liverpool and Southport are only a short train ride away. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this lovely hotel.

Never stayed in the Royal so can't rate the rooms, but the service is brilliant and food is tasty 😋

One of the most welcoming and comfortable hotels we've ever stayed at in the UK. From reception to restaurant, the service was first class with beautiful sunset views of the coast and estuary. The hotel and restaurant staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Excellent meals attractively served at great prices made this a most enjoyable stay.

I had a wonderful brunch at the Royal Hotel Waterloo. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and well-presented, and the atmosphere was cozy and elegant. I enjoyed the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, the seasonal vegetables, and the apple crumble with custard. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and the river, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality meal in a historic setting.

The location was great for local shops, pubs and restaurants. Also great for walks to see the wildlife, sea and beach. The hotel itself was of very good quality and value. Breakfast was great with a wide choice served quickly and cheerfully.

Love the Royal Hotel. Always welcoming, always spotlessly clean, and always a fantastic breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are so friendly and efficient. There are many great restaurants nearby, but I usually opt to enjoy the delicious food at the hotel bar or restaurant. Great location right by the seaside, and just a 4 min walk to the train to Liverpool or Southport. I stay in hotels all over the world, and this place gets everything right.

Went for Lunch, free parking which was handy for a quick wonder round the marina after. Meals were lovely especially my Scouse. Staff attentive and bar/restaurant was lovely and clean.

I spent 2 nights at the Royal hotel during my business trip to the UK. I have to admit that the stuff was very attentive and helpful. Nice and specious room with a bath tube. Great location - walk distance to the beach.
