Lovely pub and fun Tuesday Quiz!

Ok, so let's tackle the 3 star for the atmosphere first. I've been in a few times for Sunday roast, so I'm not too familiar with the pub. In general, it's been very empty when we visit, so only 3 for the atmosphere, although it's probably a lot different on other days?.. The roast here is first class. This has to be one of the best kept secrets in Norwich, and I think it's time to change that situation. I have the roast beef and my girlfriend has the veggie mushroom option. The roasts themselves are traditional and not mucked about, by boy oh boy are they good! If you're lucky enough to get cauliflower cheese as an added extra, it's definitely worth the extra pennies. You don't have to book in advance, but you can if you want to. In short, do you like a gravy dinner on a Sunday? Give this place a look.

Great sports pub with good ales, and a welcoming staff. We ate in their on a Saturday evening, the food was good quality and reasonably priced. Supported by university students and get there early in quiz nights. No one would feel out of place in this pub.

Alright little pub, foods decent and prices are fair enough. I don't much appreciate that I had to continously tell the older lady not to touch my puppy over and over again. Unsure if she runs the pub, manager, staff member etc but it's really inappropriate that I had to argue with her about it. He's a puppy, he's in training. Touching him constantly without even asking is weird and not something I understand. You wouldn't walk up to a kid and keep touching it. You wouldn't go and put your hands on someone's belongings. I don't get why she thought it was okay when I told her not to.

I really liked it here, the landlady was a proper landlady but in all honesty I think she needs a bloody good holiday! Pubs run down but saying that with only one person at the helm how can anyone be surprised! Really good prices, really nice staff but pub needs dulux!

Proper pub. Friendly and good beers.

The pub is worn out and needs urgently renovation. Older bartender lady (owner?) does not make me feel i am welcome and service is slow. Watching football games is a plus when there is lot of people.

Son has moved into the area. This has a friendly atmosphere, large dining area, roast were nice and just what we needed. Beer good, good selection.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the landlady was extremely accommodating. Terrific real ales on tap and a good selection of lunchtime meals. Will definitely return for another round!

This is my local. Great little place, very community orientated. Very good prices, lovely staff. The food is amazing , considering the size of the kitchen. I will always pop in for a drink or eight.

Good selection of well kept draught beer at very reasonable prices. Food selection was also keenly priced and piping hot and tasty. Large seating area outside and dog friendly to boot. Seems popular with students early evening. Maybe due to the very reasonable food and drink prices? Only negative was the pub itself could use a little tlc, sadly this is true of many pubs.

Nice little boozer! Spent a great evening in the beer garden. Good selection of reasonably priced beer and food. The service was friendly and fast. For a relaxed evening in a very traditional pub setting, it was fab! It's not polished around the edges, but I don't necessarily want that. The loaded fries were tasty good!

Dunno about food didn’t wanna risk it whole place is minging in need of a mega refurb and it ain’t clean by a long shot the lean to out the back full of holes right dump filth everywhere gotta be honest wouldn’t come here again smells right stale and I ain’t gonna lie about it I been to a lot of pubs in Norwich mind right tatty the whole place

Went to the Sunday quiz. OK atmosphere, but the pub is in desperate need of some TLC and decorating and renovating.

A proper pub, this, was just stopping by and thought I'd have a swift one. Really pleased that people maintain pubs like this that just have a feeling of community and togetherness without feeling cliquey. Welcoming, warm and the food smelled great too.

Nice corner street pub, buzzing atmosphere, real ale.

No atmosphere, beer tasted off and bar tender looked like they had been dug up...won't be returning!

a decent Golden Triangle pub where we watch Norwich City lose on a depressingly regular basis. Great world cup venue too

Just had some lovely food at The Rose and great value.

Busy, central bar. Great beer selection regularly changed. Upcoming beers list a great thing. Bar billiards table and very dog friendly with some association with greyhound rescue charity. Well decorated in the modern style. Sadly no physical space for parking or beer garden but this doesn't diminish this excellent, civil place.

Lovely friendly pub with prices a lot less than others in the area. Deserves more trade than it gets.

Lovely local atmosphere a little walk away from Norwich proper. Friendly bar staff and regulars, great as a venue for live music and traditional pub favourites like quizzes. Intriguing menu and a fair selection on the taps. Would love to see it busier as it's a good space that ought to be bustling!

Cheapest decent pub in the Golden Triangle . Unpretentious, good beer and a fantastic Sunday roast at a fair price. Courtyard garden. Some have called it a 'sports pub', but this seems a bit unfair as if like me you avoid pubs showing sport, you just go into the larger bar which is a sport free zone.

We've had a few lovely meals here lately all really reasonably priced and very delicious 😋

Old school. Nice ales on Tap and the food we had was great, a really really good beef burger in a pretzel bun, thick fried chips on the side. Result.

From the outside ,looks dank & dingy, brighter on indoors. Strange atmosphere!! Good range of snacks & beers.

Traditional pub in the heart of unthank Road. Reasonable beer at reasonable prices. But fantastic food. Ate most of the small plates with a friend, was sooooooo pleasantly surprised

Really good food but service was slow & the staff member we spoke to was quite antagonistic/rude.

Nice pub, friendly staff and decent prices. Unfortunately, service was slow, I waited over twenty minutes for someone to take my order. However, I visited on a sunny day and the place seemed very busy, so that may account for the delay.

Traditional pub. Serve really good friendly. Food great tasty and good prices. We were a party of 9 who turned up and they catered for all our needs. The small dishes chicken and chioroz jambalaya was lovely

Decor needs updating, it hasnt changed in 20 years, bench we sat on outside was falling a part, place needs some cash put into it, GT is a gold mind where ever u are and i suppose owners dont have to put cash in but i hear other pubs in area are getting hipsterre and spending the dollar

Come here a lot and despite the gruff exterior of the bar manager you actually get great service here. And the beer is good 😀 and they do Prosecco so my wife is happy

Poor food it was clearly all out of a packet wine was third rate.
