The chips where the best I've tasted . Service was quick even at the busiest time the staff polite and helpfull we loved the experience xx

A mixed bag at Yalm. There are some ready good and interesting food places that are well worth exploring. The default bar inside is expensive for Norwich. £6 a pint and similar ratio for wines & spirits... Went there for a Norwich Jazz evening on a Sunday. Really good music & good atmosphere for this. Well worthwhile even given the 13 quod entrance for this. Been before on other nights - food & drinks works the same. If you're going the Chicken Karaage from NXXDS is well worth trying, along with their other offers 👍

"Karen’s Diner Would’ve Been Better!" Went here for a works do and honestly, I’m struggling to understand the hype. I ordered calamari from one place and a side of fries from another. The calamari? Overcooked rubber rings with batter so limp it should’ve been given CPR. As for seasoning – let’s just say bland is an understatement. The aioli tasted like someone whispered "garlic" at a jar of mayonnaise and called it a day. The fries experience was a comedy of errors. When they arrived, there were different seasonings on each portion. The staff asked us whose fries were whose, and then, in a moment of true customer service excellence, dumped one batch next to me with a shrug and a “don’t know who these are for” before strolling off. It felt like a weird performance art piece called “Service? Never heard of her.” It seems the place is trying far too hard to be the cool hipster hangout, but somewhere along the way, they forgot the basics – like smiling or pretending to care. Honestly, if I wanted deliberately bad service, I’d have gone to Karen’s Diner, where at least they’re rude on purpose.

Dog friendly, cool vibes. Good as performance theatre. Something for everyone from around the world. Order at your table via QR code website. Food arrives when it's ready from open kitchens.

We ate at Thai Issan, the food was incredible! We had the Belly Pork and Beef Massaman. Lee, one of the Chefs was great too, she helped us choose the dishes and came over to check everything was to our liking. We'll be back for sure.

Incredible !!! For a food hall in the city centre of Norwich, the food is beyond amazing. I had the pleasure of going for a second time with my family where everyone had the delight of ordering exactly what they fancied to eat. Even though it’s self serve through their website or a QR code, the staff are beyond attentive when serving food and drink :) Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more for people who can never decide on where to eat.

If you're OK taking your time and working with the method of ordering your meal via your phone, you'll be rewarded with great food. I can currently only judge Baha (Mexican) and The Diner (American Deli) and there was a lot of lovely food from both and the quality was great.

My food was good (Thai) and service reasonably quick but the nature of the venue means everyone's meals come at different times. The venue is a bit basic and lacked atmosphere. It was quite cold in the hall. Food is good value.

As a tourist found the ordering system (drinks at counter, food via app when eating in) a bit strange. Food was amazing though!

Food is always excellent, not one bad meal. Service is relatively prompt depending on how busy the vendors are. Last weekend it was surprisingly slow. Never enough cutlery or napkins on the table though. The atmosphere is okay, but with no room dividers or features it does give school canteen style vibes and it can be noisy because of this. Try and get one of the few tables downstairs if you want a more relaxed atmosphere.

Went there for quiz night. Ate from Japanese outlet. Excellent food!

A lot of good food for not a lot of money. We came in for a quick tea and had nachos and chili, both were amazing with very generous portions. The drinks and food were really quick and arrived very promptly, we sat at the bar and over look the arcade which was very nice.

I visited here last night with a group of 6 work colleagues. We went upstairs to the dinning room. There is a lift and stairs. Long tables and chairs to sit at. No need to book but was busy and we were lucky to get a table on a Friday night. Menus on tables but also a QR code. Everything is booked through the QR code on your personal devices. Meals come out at different times if ordering from different restaurants. Lots of variety of meals to choose from. Two bars to choose from. Drinks expensive. Food reasonable. I had Mexican food which was delicious. Large portions. Dessert was incredible.

Tried again 2024, stomachache heaven 🤑 2023 Visited last week, no more kids menu... have to say goodbye I'm afraid 😳 Food is good here, we, including a toddler and 5 year old, often have brekkie here. Great selection and unusual concept, you order off the app and can't reserve a table. A little expensive but we do like it. Only one gripe not sure how often tables and floor are cleaned.

Met up with friends I hadn't seen for years... some of them for 15-20, so needed somewhere to eat & catch up. One of group suggested Yalm, I'd never been before, now I can't wait to go again. We went just after 4 on a Saturday & it was the perfect time. We could pick our own table, order separately by QR code & didn't have to wait too long to be served. The only reason I've not scored 5 stars for food was the amount of food mainly desserts not available. Which considering it was early evening on a Saturday was surprising. We were there till about 8pm which was perfect as it was then getting busy & therefore louder

------ Update following the representatives comments on my review: There was nothing wrong with my phone. Your own staff said about the WiFi "it never works when it gets slightly busy and is always a problem". She then told us to order with a server at the till and when we did were told just keep trying on the WiFi, it'll get there eventually... Not helpful. Perhaps instead of arguing the toss with honest reviews and trying to blame a customer who's paid you decent money you spend time taking on board what they say as just possibly being true and talking to your staff because it certainly seemed like something that is a constant problem! Always a bad sign when a place won't accept anything wrong being pointed out. ----------- Urgh. What an annoying place. You have to order online but their WiFi doesn't work because everyone is using it at the same time and there is no phone signal. After you've faffed about for ages trying to actually order you see that most of the options aren't available. The atmosphere was horrific. A vibe is nice. Being in a cavernous foodhall reminiscent of some boarding school canteen is not. The noise from everone shouting was just hell. They insisted on piping in music from speakers above on top of this to you know give it more atmosphere. However it just got lost in a muddled bass due to placement of the speakers. The food was average at best. Partner had the greek option and that was okay. What I had was the most overpriced day to day nothing special burger from On The Bone. Tasteless not cooked well absolutely nothing worthwhile about it. Should be ashamed to make out they're anything more than a greasy spoon cafe. I'm amazed how the modern world seems to tolerate such overpriced mediocrity just cos someone mentions 'street food' in the same sentence. As terrible as the Junk Yard.

The disappointing thing about Yalm is it's just underwhelming. It's far from terrible, but we've been three times and each time the food has been hit and miss but always over priced. Notably the crepes from Christophe's (which are excellent) are 40% more expensive in Yalm than they are in his own creperie which is 5 minutes away. Breakfast from On The Bone was delicious but overpriced. Tacos from Baha were average and overpriced. If you're going out for a treat and don't mind the price then it'll be fine, but it's hard to justify otherwise.

A great bustling hall, filled to bursting with excellent coffee and a variety of tasty foods… we tried the wings (grill), Turkey bagel (diner) and spiced sausage (souk) and all were excellent and HUGE portions. We can’t wait to come back with our kids…. They can have delicious pizza while we try out some of the more discerning options. Oh, and the live jazz was really special! Thank you!

The food and service were great. What a detraction was the noise. You cannot speak to each other across a table. The restaurant was absolutely packed, which is a good reflection of the food and service. But it's not a place to go for a chat whilst eating. I would go again, but not on the day and time we went this time.

We always love coming to Yalm, the selection of food offerings is fantastic. Highly recommend the brunch options, especially the hash browns! But there really is something for everyone, and the drinks selection is impressive too

Lovely staff. Great atmosphere and food is usually on point. The last time I went to Yalm I had a pepperoni pizza. It did advertise it's ingredients which was spiced honey, pepperoni and lime. I thought it was an interesting take on the dish but actually the flavours just didn't work together for me personally. The middle of the pizza was so greasy that the cheese just fell off and I think it's due to the choice of toppings. Science done it's thing and I just didn't enjoy it. I also had a side of chips from on the bone for £4.50 it was a bowl of assorted chips(fries) which I can only describe and a mixture of frozen chips from Asda. They weren't good either so unfortunately this visit was a loss. All of the other visits that's I've had which involved the noodle bar have been amazing so I'd just stick with nxxds. I might try the tacos next time so hopefully they'll be able to change my mind and put halm as a 5 star as it is in full a pretty good place to go eat.

Brilliant selection of food available across the restaurants, there is a lot of seating but it does get busy at peak times. In a great location too, well worth a visit.

Went here for lunch with my partner. Staff were very friendly and our server was lovely. The food hall upstairs is massive with lots of food options. Chose a pizza and it was delicious. Nice atmosphere downstairs, very cosy and comfortable place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at Thai Issan Restaurant at Yalm, Norwich! The Pad Thai King Prawns were absolutely delicious and cooked with fresh ingredients and authentic Thai flavours. The service from Nui and Lee was outstanding; they were both attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for a relaxing meal. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Thai dining experience. Five stars all the way!

Had food today at BAHA in Yalm… the food was really good. I have an allergy to raw tomatoes and there was a slight mix up as there was tomatoes in the guacamole… but the lovely young gentleman sorted it, apologised and replaced my burrito straight away! Awesome service! We really love it here and we will be back again soon!

Yalm is a real gem in the heart of the city. The food is consistently good and hugely varied given the nature of the food hall style, particularly enjoy the NXXD ramen. Good range of drinks too.

First time here. Had soda water with blackcurrant and a banoffee crepe. The only way to order, it seems, is via a QR code, so I don't know how people would get on if they had a phone without a QR code scanner.

We had a load of Thai sides and salads at the Thai stall at the back. Flavours were out of this world. The salads are like meals of their own and all vegan. My husband is coeliac, so he was made up with it all being available gluten free. It was pretty busy, but the food came out in good time and we wished we had more space in our stomachs for more. We will be back to try some more dishes and check out the other vendors.

Ordered food from three outlets, all arrived promptly. Fish tacos ridiculously small taco, couldn't contain food. Fish soggy batter and tasteless. Coffee and loaded fries great

It's alright, it's not going to set your world on fire, but yeah. 1st of the building is lovely, busy place with a great atmosphere. Tables were sticky, and I didn't see a server with a cloth or spray when we were there. Obviously, the food comes from different vendors, which is a great idea. However, 2 burgers, 2 fries, and a sauce with 3 thin halloumi slices for £50 are a bit steep. That's nothing to do with the venue, of course.

Food is ok, ordering is really difficult as everyone has to manage a qr code, the a jumbled menu (each vendor has their own menu but is displayed by vendor name so the thing you're looking for could be pretty much anywhere with no ordering or food by type) Then you can only pay online which is very unreliable - it took our group 45 minutes to get orders through using each others phones as hotspots to try to get enough internet. There's no way to just pay normally.

Ordered from Bodega and was excited to try texas toast but was served bread so disappointing for a first visit. Pizza was really good.

I don't usually like these food halls. Most I've been too are too big and too busy - like the one in Lisbon which my sons took me to when we were on holiday there. This is different. Smaller and usually never so busy it spoils the experience. Good choices of food and drink from the various outlets. Not too pricey. Staff very friendly. I'd recommend a visit if you've never been and are in Norwich centre.

Second time here and will definitely return again soon. Ordered from the Thai place, bbq chicken sticks and a seafood stir fry. The wife had papaya salad and a green curry, the best she’s ever had. Food is so fresh and colourful. Love the canteen vibe and found it easier to order our drinks at the bar, as opposed to on the app.

Great atmosphere, second floor of this building feels really busy and fun even when the rest of town feels empty. It's clearly the place to be! There are self-service water jugs and glasses, and you order by a QR code. There are lots of cuisines to try, but this comes with a risk: while my rice bowl was great, my husband's tacos were not good and not good value for price. My food arrived a good 10-15 minutes after his, which you should be aware of if different members of your party try to order from different stalls.

Sat in corridor as there wasn't enough seating for my group the first time and they had a loud duo play what they thought to be live music. It was nice till it wasn't - it unnerved most of us. Food was slow coming for some reason. Drinks weren't quite exciting. Ice cream n brownie with sesame seeds were the highlight. Last visit had us inside the hall upstairs n it was rowdy. Enjoyed most of the meals except the bone marrow which I couldn't touch. Definitely recommend the Thai issan place.

Lovely staff and a fantastic selection of low alcohol beers, but unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down on this occasion. Ordered chips that came super quick but were clearly reheated one too many times as they were super overcooked and crunchy. The vegan options are slim for somewhere that otherwise has so much choice. Went for the nduja pizza in the end which was more expensive yet didn’t have any vegan cheese which was a shame

Great place to order a variety of different foods from a variety of cultures. Easy website/menu to use and choose your food by scanning the QR code. Tasty food but some orders can take a while. Definitely recommend 😊

Super place with a variety of pop-up street food restaurants, and ample quiet alcoves and areas where you can drink coffee and work on laptop.

All I can say is we dined in there with my family but they had hard seats and I don’t know they’ve gotta be changed and also with the food the Condiments have to be paid by card and a £3 pound each which are never heard of before My food personally was lovely But with the extras could work out quite expensive that’s why I give it three stars

First time coming here and I ordered a mocktail and fried chicken ramen bowl with karaage chicken on the side. Really tasty! Decent portions, fresh and nicely presented. Would've appreciated more attention from the staff just to make sure everything was going okay etc. Bit loud but that's to be expected with so many people around.

Finally got round to eating at Yalm. The draw of having a Thai meal out sealed the deal. Thai Issan have a good range of Thai dishes on offer. Food was so tasty can highly recommend working your way thru the menu. If you're not in to Thai there's plenty of other options on offer. Great idea if you have a group with differing tastes.
