Yalm Food Hall in Norwich

Don't go for the tacos, they were most bizarre, tiny and overpriced but DO go for the nachos, amazing. Such limited choices in a restaurant who's purpose is to offer choices!!

So easy to give Yalm five stars. It’s only been open for a couple of weeks but the food is excellent, the vibe is great, the music is spot on and the beer is fabulous - the team work hard to look after you. Just what we need in the centre of Norwich. The recent addition of the Jerk pop-up is absolutely delicious, I’ve had the red snapper buns several times, the coleslaw is excellent and the chicken is good too. I hope they make it permanent.

YALM is always a favourite when dining with the kids due to the sheer amount of options. Went with Nachos and loaded hash browns from Baha, chicken wings from On The Bone and a Nutella pizza from Eric’s. Finished off with baby pancakes from Christophe’s. Everything arrived quickly and piping hot. Ordering system was clear and easy to use as always. Dining hall was a little noisy on this particular visit and it was hard to have a conversation between 4 of us. There are plenty of reasonably priced options and some higher priced options for those who fancy a treat. Dining hall was clean with tables cleared really quickly.

A great idea, several kitchens each serving a different type of cuisine, in one large food hall. Two of us had a very nice lunch. Would be a great place for a works do or other group booking, enabling people with different tastes and dietary requirement to be catered for. Decent beer. Good service.

ERIC’S PIZZA - Normally excellent (some of the best pizza outside of Italy). Yet today was burnt beyond belief. Let’s hope this is just a “one off”.

We have been here a few times for the (excellent) Norwich Jazz Club events and recently tried the Thai place. All a bit underwhelming. The chicken skewers were nice but the Pad Thai with beef was just a gloopy mess with a few bits of meat. I expected more for £15. Next time I'll try one of the other vendors. The service was excellent though

Got there at 1pm and put our orders in by 1:05, one meal came in around 10 minutes BUT the other meal came around 40 minutes later, my mum was done eating for a good while before my food even left the kitchen. I got to watch as customers came and went while I waited for my order. It was good food but the wait wasn’t really worth it

Had to wait 45 minutes for an over priced bacon sandwich. Brunch ended up lunch. Should’ve got a Greggs.

Excellent ‘food hall’ style offering with a wide range of food and drink. Huge selection (8+) main meal offerings, from burgers, to Thai, Mexican, steak and most things in between. Dessert/pastry for the sweet of tooth and great on-tap beer/ales and cider. Ample eating, with in-app ordering. Scan the WR code on the table and await your food and drink. Tap water available for free. Tables cleared regularly and staff helpful. All food (ordered from 3 different places) came within 15 mins. Would recommend and will be going back again to try some other food.

For such a good restaurant they never pick up the phone. I mean like I’ve phoned over 10 times in one day at different times as I understand the lunchtime rush. Very poor customer service and rather rude

Great concept. You can order food and drink from any of the kitchens in one go and all eat together. Can get noisy, but the buzz is half the fun.

The Thai food at Thai Delish is very good. I think the best dish is their Pad Thai, although the Massaman and the Penang are also very good.

I ordered the jerk chicken, and it was absolutely fantastic — full of rich, bold flavor and perfectly cooked. The rice that came with it was especially delicious; I’d love to know the recipe if you’re willing to share! Please let me know — I’d be thrilled to try recreating it at home.

Lovely staff and some ok food options but not a great deal for vegetarians to be honest. A little bit like a student foodhall. For the price, I don't think I'd go back.

First time for us although we live locally. Not disappointed. Multi food outlets all in one location. Casual dining. You take a seat at long communal or smaller separate tables. You can order by app or direct at the outlet of your choice. Usual good fast food options, fishy, Asian, pizza, texmex (but didnt see burgers - but may have missed it), Mediterranean etc. All seemed good. Our fishy choice was excellent. Came to about £18 per head for one course and a drink). Pleasant efficient service. We thought good value and would happily return/recommend.

I love this place and it's one of my go to places whenever I'm visiting Norwich. The choice and quality of food is superb and the staff are extremely helpful

I went for a pre theatee dinner with my niece. We had time to kill so pondered over each menu in detail. Ordered 2 soft drinks which took over half an hour to come...but we were having a great time and in no rush. We did a circuit before we sat down to look at the menus in person and peruse the kitchens. She is a veggie so was torn between Mexican and Thai but eventually chose a tofu massaman curry with sticky rice and optional cashews from Thai Delish. I also went Thai but from a different vendor. I went for the crispy pork belly ramen from NXXDS. Wow. Very impressed with the food for three reasons. 1. It didnt take that long to come (compared to the drinks). 2. It also arrived piping hot and pretty much at the same time - we had already made a pact to start if one came before the other, but hardly needed to! 3. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We then treated ourselves to a s'more from On The Bone. Which we shared as super full from dinner. Tbh it was huge and also delicious - so glad we were sensible. I will 100% be back. I literally could have eaten things from every menu. I also had a good look around and everyone's plates looked lovely..so looking forward to coming back. It was noisy which i didnt mind...but certainly a fun and lively atmosphere...maybe not a place for a heart to heart though 😆 plus it gets busy!

I've been a couple times now and haven't been impressed with the quality and quantity of food vs the price you pay. The food hall itself is big, but horrendously busy and noisy. The bar is decent and I enjoy the range of beer there so that's a positive. Overall I don't recommend this.

I had a Burger and fries from "On The Bone" , at £19.50 I think it was expensive. It was tasty, the fries were feta and olive salt, I was expecting lumps of feta crumbled into the fries, but it was a fine dusting which seemed more like parmesan 🤷🏼‍♂️. The restaurant was clean and tidy but was rather noisy.

If you are in Norwich you must experience Yalm. Cuisine for all tastes, fast service, friendly staff

Always a fantastic place to visit. Never had a disappointing experience all food is cooked to perfection.

Most of the food is good quality but the vendors are hit and miss with some giving generous portions for the money like the curries and ramen meals, as well as pizza place. Then the mexican place is pretty naff portions are small and doesn't taste as good as some other high street alternatives around Norwich. Drinks are really expensive also, tiny bottles of coke are £4, and other non alcoholic drinks for drivers are similarly expensive. Not great value for money.. Best part I'd say is staff who tidy up and deliver your food. Friendly, helpful and read the tables for clearing well. 100% well staffed, shame the food vendors are not consistent.

staff were unorganised and quite rude, me and some friends went to celebrate a birthday so booked a table to secure a spot. majority of staff just walked past us while we stood there clueless as to where our tables was. no welcome or hello as we entered either. food is very overhyped, ordered a steak and chip ciabatta as received rare steak in some baguette with a splatter of chips all over my plate. looked very unprofessional and messy. i left half of it. my friend ordered from the same company as me and by the time she received her food i had nearly finished what i wanted to eat, waiting around 10-15 mins. my other friend ordered a burger which was £15 to just receive a burger with no chips or any salad, etc. £15 for a burger is a bit pricey. the building overall is lovely however wish my experience was better and don’t think ill be returning any time soon.

Overhyped to be honest, large variety of food but generally mediocre. We were a large group of friends and one of us waited over an hour for fried chicken despite speaking to staff multiple times. Manager offered a free drink but was hit with a sarcastic comment by a staff member when serving the dish quoting “isn’t it worth the wait?”. Yeah sure is if it wasn’t over an hour and when everyone else had finished their food too. I guess if I couldn’t figure out where to go for food with more people around it will be an option (purely out of laziness) to bring them here. Otherwise I’m sure Norwich has better places to offer.

This is the first time I visited Yalm and will be the last. I have eaten in places all over the world and this has to be the worst waitress service I have ever encountered. The waitress was rude and arrogant and was muttering under her breath as she walked away. We were on table 47 on 28/3/25 at approx 1300 and she certainly needs a customer service course if she is to remain in hospitality!

Wow, what a wonderful surprise the food hall was, an absolute gem of a place to eat and have a drink, with great choices. It was unsurprisingly busy, so the wait for food was long, which was a downside, and our food came at different times, which was a shame, but it was nice when it came. Drink selection was great.

The DJ playing all evening just got louder and louder. We couldn't hear ourselves speak!

Firstly, the food is really nice. I personally had Souk which was delicious, but... the app wouldn't let me pay so someone else in our party had to start the whole order again. Bit of a pain. The chicken burger didn't come with chips?? Odd. You have to pay separately for ketchup etc. and it comes cold out of the fridge! Just put some bottles of Heinz on the bar and let people help themselves - we're paying enough for the food!! As I say, the food is great but just these little annoyances could make the experience better.

A good variety of choices, including Thai, seafood, Mexican, steaks, gyros, Japanese etc. Everyone will find something they can enjoy

It's a food hall with table service that you can order from your table. Highly recommend the katsu curry and good selection of alcohol free beer. Downside is it's popular Friday and weekends but during the week it's easy enough to get a table.

I don’t often write reviews, but I enjoyed this place so much, I had to! Lovely relaxed atmosphere with welcoming staff. We visited with our baby and everyone enjoyed their food. The falafel dish from Souk was particularly delicious - not a morsel was left on the plate. Ordering through the website was easy, but service was still friendly. If we lived in Norwich, I’d definitely be a regular!

Attended a 'Natty Wine Club' wine tasting and thoroughly recommend it! It was a great balance of learning/listening and talking amongst ourselves, the wines were interesting and tasty, and the host was passionate and a great storyteller about the vineyards and the wines.

We booked for a large group for a birthday lunch but generally I think you just walk in and find a table. Booking was quick and easy. Ordering is easy through a QR code system and service was quick and friendly. It was a little bit noisy but not so much that we couldn't chat and the food is a bit pricey but tasted very good. Good that they had GF options. Overall a really good experience.

Nothing like the water dripping from your microwaved rice to give you the Uncle Bens experience. If you want processed food pretending to be restaurant grade food it's your place to go. I suggest visiting the numerous local restaurants that cook fresh. Coffee and atmosphere is good. I look forward to the owner telling me that this is how rice looks when it's freshly made.

Great place to go for social eating experience in Norwich. So many options to choose from, simply order from the app and delivered straight to your table. The tacos and panko fried chicken was amazing.

Wonderful place to eat, Went two weeks ago now (dined in the private room as bigger party of us). And revisited last week, dined in the main hall, overlooking the Royal Arcade, great spot ~ great choice of foods both times. Service was excellent and prompt too. I’ve always enjoyed Yalm. The food selection is great and the atmosphere is friendly. However, they seem to have technical issues a fair bit with the ordering system which caused delays on our last visit.

I have ordered a mushroom pizza, it taste wasn't good. Some souce was there instead of cheese which was not good in taste. Drink was good.

We love YALM! 👌🏼✨ excellent for lunch or dinner we always have a good meal here. Plenty to pick from and the different pop ups mean you do not ever need to eat the same thing twice... Although when you can order food this good it's a tough job to not eat everything on all the menu's! I love the noodle ramen bowls from NXXDS, and the pizzas from Eric's. We also love the lucky chips, and the meats from Souk and On the Bone kitchens. Bench seating, and order on your phone adds a cool, casual vibe and means it's great for mixed groups. Come and go as you please, there's usually space to fit in upstairs (where the best vibes are) but don't be surprised to share your bench if you're on a big one! Love love love, 10/10 💕

Enjoyed the food at Yarm, great concept. We thought staff were remote and indifferent, despite us leaving a 10% tip as we ordered. Sadly, toilets were filthy. Not just from a busy Saturday - dirt at floor label was weeks old. Soiled tissues, broken bin. menus on tables were grubby and stained. Yalm is losing its shine. Wouldn’t return.

Yalm Food Hall is an absolute winner! So many delicious food options—it’s basically a foodie paradise where you can never decide what to eat (because you want everything). The vibe is great, super relaxed but buzzing, and the service is always friendly. The portions are generous, and honestly, I’m already planning my next visit. If you haven’t been yet, go—your taste buds will thank you!

We arrived on a quiet Wednesday evening and went to order at the bar. We waited while the barman served the previous diners and then went to order, only to be told we weren’t next: because another ‘ diner’ (who arrived after us!) had precedence. The barman mumbled an excuse why we should wait and then the manager got involved. We were told she’d ‘heard’ that the barman had explained despite being across the restaurant at the time he supposedly did! We went on to order after they’d served the interceptor and weren’t asked any questions about our order eg allergies or dietary restrictions. The food eventually arrived. My chicken burger and my partners burger were covered in plastic cheese despite no mention of cheese on the menu. If we’d known or been asked, we’d have both asked for omission. My chicken was stringy, dry and overcooked. Chips were a selection of different oven chips. The meal was meh at best. Only partly edible and certainly not worth the money. When we asked to speak to the manager we had the pleasure of Bryonys company again. She tried to tell us it was our fault for not reading the full menu and that greasy dry chicken was ‘juicy’. To say she was antagonistic is an understatement, this girl went to the.Gestapo school of charm! Needless to say we won’t rush back or recommend. Such a shame as the aesthetics are fabulous. It’s just a shame about the food and management.

The food was great. One of the best ramens I’ve ever had. I do wish they heated the restaurant, however, as a lot of people were sat in coats, including us. I know heating is expensive these days but please sort it out. Will likely come back when it’s warmer. Also the waitresses seemed a little unprofessional. One waitress leant over my shoulder to put new napkins on the table, with her sleeve touching the rim of my full pint, luckily she didn’t knock it over. My girlfriend also asked for mayonnaise once her fries turned up, and was abruptly told to order it online, where it then costs 50p or so. I’m not a fan of paying for basic condiments; in most restaurants they come free, so you can’t blame customers for not realising it has to be ordered/paid for, before the meal.

The staff were friendly people but totally let down by the QR code system. Just have a menu and place an order, the pandemic is over. The food took well over an hour to arrive cold and the order went through twice as the ordering system was so crap. Why make it unnecessarily difficult and frustrating? Why make the first reaction someone has to the business being annoyed? Not worth it

Great food selection. This food hall does barbeque like steak, burgers etc but also more exotic fare like Thai, Ramen Noodles, and Mexican foods. Prices are pretty average and the service was pretty fast. There is also some great dessert options too and they make a proper thick, ice cream milkshake. The Mexican food was really good. Tacos are a bit pricey but at least very tasty. the Burrito was great.

A mixed bag at Yalm. There are some ready good and interesting food places that are well worth exploring. The default bar inside is expensive for Norwich. £6 a pint and similar ratio for wines & spirits... Went there for a Norwich Jazz evening on a Sunday. Really good music & good atmosphere for this. Well worthwhile even given the 13 quod entrance for this. Been before on other nights - food & drinks works the same. If you're going the Chicken Karaage from NXXDS is well worth trying, along with their other offers 👍

"Karen’s Diner Would’ve Been Better!" Went here for a works do and honestly, I’m struggling to understand the hype. I ordered calamari from one place and a side of fries from another. The calamari? Overcooked rubber rings with batter so limp it should’ve been given CPR. As for seasoning – let’s just say bland is an understatement. The aioli tasted like someone whispered "garlic" at a jar of mayonnaise and called it a day. The fries experience was a comedy of errors. When they arrived, there were different seasonings on each portion. The staff asked us whose fries were whose, and then, in a moment of true customer service excellence, dumped one batch next to me with a shrug and a “don’t know who these are for” before strolling off. It felt like a weird performance art piece called “Service? Never heard of her.” It seems the place is trying far too hard to be the cool hipster hangout, but somewhere along the way, they forgot the basics – like smiling or pretending to care. Honestly, if I wanted deliberately bad service, I’d have gone to Karen’s Diner, where at least they’re rude on purpose.

We ate at Thai Issan, the food was incredible! We had the Belly Pork and Beef Massaman. Lee, one of the Chefs was great too, she helped us choose the dishes and came over to check everything was to our liking. We'll be back for sure.

Incredible !!! For a food hall in the city centre of Norwich, the food is beyond amazing. I had the pleasure of going for a second time with my family where everyone had the delight of ordering exactly what they fancied to eat. Even though it’s self serve through their website or a QR code, the staff are beyond attentive when serving food and drink :) Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more for people who can never decide on where to eat.

My food was good (Thai) and service reasonably quick but the nature of the venue means everyone's meals come at different times. The venue is a bit basic and lacked atmosphere. It was quite cold in the hall. Food is good value.

If you're OK taking your time and working with the method of ordering your meal via your phone, you'll be rewarded with great food. I can currently only judge Baha (Mexican) and The Diner (American Deli) and there was a lot of lovely food from both and the quality was great.

I'd heard a lot about this place. Unfortunately, the quality of food and service were a real letdown.

As a tourist found the ordering system (drinks at counter, food via app when eating in) a bit strange. Food was amazing though!

They stop serving at 9:45pm although advertised as open until 11pm. Ridiculously unprofessional for a Saturday night. This photo was taken at 10pm.

Food is always excellent, not one bad meal. Service is relatively prompt depending on how busy the vendors are. Last weekend it was surprisingly slow. Never enough cutlery or napkins on the table though. The atmosphere is okay, but with no room dividers or features it does give school canteen style vibes and it can be noisy because of this. Try and get one of the few tables downstairs if you want a more relaxed atmosphere.

Went there for quiz night. Ate from Japanese outlet. Excellent food!

A lot of good food for not a lot of money. We came in for a quick tea and had nachos and chili, both were amazing with very generous portions. The drinks and food were really quick and arrived very promptly, we sat at the bar and over look the arcade which was very nice.

Was a very busy Saturday evening when I visited but food arrived quickly and was very tasty, would definitely recommend if you are in the city and want to try something different

I visited here last night with a group of 6 work colleagues. We went upstairs to the dinning room. There is a lift and stairs. Long tables and chairs to sit at. No need to book but was busy and we were lucky to get a table on a Friday night. Menus on tables but also a QR code. Everything is booked through the QR code on your personal devices. Meals come out at different times if ordering from different restaurants. Lots of variety of meals to choose from. Two bars to choose from. Drinks expensive. Food reasonable. I had Mexican food which was delicious. Large portions. Dessert was incredible.
