Me and my friend went there for the first time today 3rd of November for Sunday lunch. it was just amazing I would be going back for sure

Fantastic service & superb food - worth a visit everytime

No booking at lunchtime but the landlord was extremely accommodating for a party of 7 to desend on him & made us very welcome. Food was excellent & apperd to be a great pub well supported by the locals.

Lovely food,pleasant service and warm friendly atmosphere. Perfect for a Birthday lunch. Will use again.

Had a nice time there, albeit a little crowded. This was a Saturday so may be quieter during the week, don't know.

We had a lovely roast. It was a last minute booking, great service.

A drive in our beautiful countryside to find the Rose & Crown which I visited many years ago. Well worth it. Hospitality, wow! We were made so welcome, food choice, quality & representation was exceptional. So friendly & polite. I could go on! Will not leave it so long for another visit. If fact it could become a weekly habit! Thank you to the staff.

Wow , this is a brilliant place to eat .. the food was 💯 service was brilliant, nice and clean. My partner had turkey and ham pie mash and veg, I had the ploughmans ..... The desserts so many to choose from melt in middle chocolate sponge and custard... jam sponge with custard....

We had most enjoyable lunch here todsy, portions very generous and fresh. The fish was perfectly cooked, in a light batter. A full size fillet. My Rose and crown burger, with bacon and cheese made me smile. After some dessert choices, we left with full and happy stomachs. We will definitely be back to try some of the other menu choices.

Lovely country pub selling great food. By far the best gluten free fish and chips I have ever eaten. My husband enjoyed his not gluten free pie and mash too. Huge portions. Friendly and helpful staff.

We were looking for a country pub for food and drink on a family day out in the area we were in. Pub was very full but managed to find a space in the car park. When ordering food got told there would be a wait because how busy they were. This was not a problem because of the friendly atmosphere. When food came it was well worth the wait as it was fantastic. Service friendly and efficient, portions just right and very well prepared. Very pleasant end to family day out.

Everything is so good at this pub staff are very helpful service great food presented well.

Often stop off here on a cycle or walk and it's always good food and beer, But I have to say today the cajun chicken hanging kebab was the best I've ever had with large delicious chucks of chicken, Brilliant meal, Looking forward to my next one!

Used to be really good last 2 visits not so good today 35 minute for food and one meal burnt chicken .given refund but disappointing.have chefs changed in last few months?

On reflection the rating was lower than warranted. For sometime now the draught beer, Masterbrew, has been below par. That is the only reason for not giving top marks. This has been mentioned. Apologies for not stating this on my original post.

A lovely traditional village pub serving great food and drink. All the staff are lovely and friendly and make you feel very welcome.

Big thank you to everyone to The Rose and Crown, despite several to and froing on our part and people kept changing their menu choices everything was spot on. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We hadn’t managed to get together for so long so sitting it the lockdown shed was perfect and a great setting to chat and enjoy. Some had never been to the pub and others had not been for a long time but have all said how great the food was so am sure we will be back. Definitively recommend

Good village pub, with a proper beer garden. Decent selection of beers on tap, and service was quite quick. Friendly family atmosphere in the garden which was on full evening sun.

Food was excellent, service was prompt and friendly, great value and great surroundings.

Lovely little pub in the middle of nowhere

First time here, we booked a table on the day of booking for 5 people on a Sunday with no problems. A nice sized table. Food was very nice and a few good options. Service was good too. Will go back again

Nice village pub. However the service was quite slow. The food order was wrong. The chicken kebabs were slightly over cooked and quite dry, even more so when added to the flat bread to eat. Ordered desserts, waited 15 minutes to then be told that one of the items sold out the day before and to choose something else. Got the bill which had £60 of additional alcohol drinks added to it. Had it corrected but there was still small error but by this time just happy to pay. The waitress found it all quite comical and blamed the till for the errors!

The perfect pub meal in a pleasant surrounding. The service was really friendly. We were recommended this place and will certainly be back. It was worth the journey.

What a great village pub ! Didn't eat but the food looked amazing..... it was quiz night place very busy ....landlord is a great fella makes everyone welcome even if it's your first time there.

We’ve heard great things about this pub and often pop in for drinks which is great and never had any issues. Staff are kind and welcoming. We decided to book for food after hearing great things. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. The service was very slow, the waitresses weren’t fully listening to our drink orders and kept getting them wrong or the wrong sizes, they only came twice to ask for drinks, which doesn’t seem bad, but we were there for three and a half hours, which brings me to my next point, we ordered at around 3:50pm and didn’t get our starters for at least half an hour, we then had to wait a further hour and 15-20mins for our mains, while watching a table get served their food before us with the exact same amount of people and they had come in around 20 minutes after we had been seated. The food was OK, nothing to rave about. We had a pork chop special which one diner said was really good but everyone else wasn’t impressed. The “hanging” halloumi kebabs had absolutely no seasoning on, not even salt or pepper, whereas the hanging chicken ones did, although they were really dry, and one of them didn’t even come out “hanging”. The service was just abit messy and it wasn’t even that busy, which would be understandable if they were fully booked. We may try to come back for their “famous roast” on a Sunday but we are dubious to go for food again.

My other half had this as her local for many years... I'd never been here but took my Aunt for lunch. Very nice staff and very, very nice good. Highly recommend, and all food is locally sourced. 👍👍👍👍👍

Great atmosphere and food. Reasonable prices and a good choice of food. Make sure you book as very popular.

Seated at 8pm kitchen shut at 9pm on a Saturday night. Despite booking many weeks in advance. Amateurish and not a proper restaurant. Room for a lot of improvement.

Lovey food, the only complaint is there should be more veg with the Sunday lunch, and sharper knives for the meat.

It was our first visit and an an amazing meal. Highly recommend.

Friendly atmosphere good food and good price

*reviewing an early Xmas meal. It was OK. I had the crab cakes, which tasted nice, but could have been a touch crispier. Main was the Xmas burger. The burger itself was a little over and too tall to eat nicely. The chips were great and the coleslaw was good but different, being flavoured with nutmeg I think. I had a cheese board which was fine, although there was 3x as much cheese as biscuits. Service was mixed, starters came out very quickly, but then a long gap for the mains. (The turkey roasts looked and tasted great and I think that's what the pub is best known for)

Ome of my favourite country pubs. Food is always amazing and the garden is lush!

Drove for an hour to visit, and was not left dissapointed. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The roast has to be experienced, it was spot on. Both of us went for the beef with sides of extra roast potatoes and the obligatory cauli cheese. The finish on the roast potatoes was crisp,fluffy on the inside and the leeks on the side were sublime. We shared the cheesecake dessert. The base was crumbly, this was a masterclass on how a cheesecake should be. The only thing I could comment on is that the roast beef was sliced really thinly, a few thicker slices would have been ideal. But all in all, going here is worth the visit. The staff were on top of everything. A very well run pub, and it's no wonder it was fully booked. Definitely worth a visit.

Whilst the pub was really busy(which is a good sign!) They found us a parking space and served a really good,reasonably priced, meal without any fuss and trauma. We will definitely return shortly. Thanks

Lovely pub with a good selection of drinks, nice food and a huge beer garden with plenty of outdoor seating. We spent an afternoon here drinking cider in the sun, then enjoyed some great food. The fish & Chips was good, very nice steak burger, and the monkfish kebab was excellent. Excellent value for money considering it's location

I've been here a few times for food and drinks. Above average pub grub and a huge menu. Pricing is very reasonable considering the location. Beer garden is lovely in the sun.

This is my kind of pub. The Rose and Crown is located in a lovely part of the countryside with a nice, peaceful beer garden, a cosy interior, a tempting menu and a great selection of beers. The only problem is it's a bit too far from where I live, despite that I will definitely come back to visit when I can.

Hi my girlfriend and I had a Sunday roast on 23rd April we were seated at a nice table for two near the bar the service was first rate the classic roast was perfect the pub is spotless and the staff are charming and efficient i definitely would recommend booking a table there. I will be going back again perhaps mid week to try the other meal options on the menu .Well done. Thomas O’Neill.
