Good stop for a pint and a game of pool. Food is delicious and clearly homemade. It's a shame we won't be able to return since we live far away.

Very clean Venue , friendly polite staff, food amazing, good sized portions, nice and fresh, relaxing atmosphere, would highly recommend, had mains, dessert and coffee all excellent, and fairly priced.

Amazing village pub! Great to see it open again and with such a friendly team in there too, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was lovely and there were good portion sizes too. And to top if off there is a pool table in there now! 😁 Will definitely be coming back again, makes for a great local!

Sunday afternoon pint after rugby! Truthfully! Wish I hadn't bothered! This pub has been on a downward spiral for a few years! Very old fashioned inside but that is fine as long as it is clean! Sadly not! Everything you touch feels sticky and grubby! The latest landlords have not made any improvement to this village pub in fact quite the opposite! Food is available sometimes or sometimes not! Drinks are sometimes available and sometimes not! Beer choice is abysmal and if there is a bit of a crowd at a weekend it tends to run out! Obviously underfunded and I doubt the new landlords will be there long unless they up their game!

My visit was during a very quiet time so plenty of seating available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was convenient and a decent outside area.

Cozy pub pub with great food, beers & staff!

Had the fortune to visit this amazing pub on their pasta night and o what a night it was. Had the pasta with a Ragu that I am still dreaming off. Great service and really friendly people. All in all a great local pub

Stopped here on a car journey from Liverpool to London. Heritage vegetables were excellent and roast dinners!

We visited the Rose and Crown as a group of eight for Sunday lunch this weekend and had a fabulous time. The atmosphere in the pub was vibrant, the staff were attentive, and the meal and overall experience was superb. All of our roasts were served piping hot, and absolutely full of flavour. Half of us opted for belly pork and half for lamb, and each of us commented on how great the food was. One of our guests is Celiac, and cannot have gluten, however great care was taken by the R & C team to explain Gluten Free options and we felt very reassured when ordering from their recommended GF menu. We have started to visit the Rose and Crown, regularly as it is going from strength to strength under the new ownership. It's so great to have our village pub open again and for it to be of such fantastic quality.

Wonderful ,the Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious I've never had such a delicious steak,cold to perfection. Thank you very much .

Recently opened under new ownership. Ali and his team have created a really pleasant environment to eat or just to go for a drink. Great value, top atmosphere. Would highly reccomend.

Had a lovely meal with my girlfriend, amazing food and cocktails , staff were really friendly too! Very clean and tidy with great parking, also a choice of lovely fresh cakes, plenty of vegan/ gluten free options and a great menu with great prices. Can’t recommend this place enough, will definitely be returning.

Felt very welcome, staff were friendly and helpful, food was very tasty. The pub backs onto the village playing field and play area which is well equipped with swings, slides etc so grandchildren were well entertained.

Just stopped off here and had a couple of ales on the way back home from 4NCL, Tribute and Side Pocket, both lovely and fresh. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely little olde worldy pub.

We were really looking forward to eating here but were very disappointed. We enjoyed a drink out front while waiting for the kitchen to open. Once it did and our orders were taken, we were waiting a while for our food. Our server came up and said there was a delay about 30 mins in which we said no worries, but then it hit an hour and we were very hungry and pretty annoyed at this point. To top it off, food was mediocre, fish was quite greasy, my partner was annoyed as when his meal was served, the server dropped some of his chips onto the table, which he then didn't want to eat. We left underwhelmed and dissatisfied.

Was a great setting with mix of patio and grassy area outside. Relaxing atmosphere. Dog friendly Staff were friendly. Bar service a bit slow, but it WAS very busy

Typical country pub. Pleasant staff and nice surroundings. Went along to listen to some bands, which attracted a fair amount of people. On-site pizza van proved to be popular and the food looked nice. Friendly people.

Nice Sunday lunch. The veg, potatoes and yorkshire were all cooked very well. Unfortunately the beef was a bit tough. Even the offer of a steak knife didnt help. It was nicely pink but I think needed more cooking to be tender. The orange and chocolate cake was lovely but I would avoid the lemon posset. Lemon rind all through it made for a very unappealing texture. Staff are lovely.

Wonderful Sunday Lunch. Although it has been a few months since we were last able to visit the Rose and Crown at Wingrave with friends for Sunday lunch, standards have not slipped. The staff made us feel very welcome, greeting us with smiles as we were shown to our table. Both the roast pork and roast beef meals that we had chosen were very generous in portions with an amazing selection of vegetables, all beautifully cooked and well presented. With the size of the main courses so generous it was debatable whether to be tempted with desserts. So pleased that we were, the Summer Pudding was the best I've ever tasted! The service was quick and efficient and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff, to ensure that we departed as satisfied and happy guests. Indeed the whole experience was so enjoyable that just before we left we made another booking. Show less

Super friendly pub with a great selection of food. £8 for one of the best full English breakfasts I've ever had, and it comes with a free tea or coffee. Will be back!

Lovely pub, with friendly and efficient staff. There is a lovely garden area with play facilities for children. The food is excellent though the menu is not extensive the food is cooled beautifully and there are some imaginative dishes amongst the traditional pub fare. Both the fish and chips and the scotch egg (made with black pudding) were excellent. The website is tricky to navigate and not up to date so I'd recommend phoning to book.

Stopped in here on a busy Sunday lunch and wasn't long before all the outdoor tables were full. The kids homemade lassange was really good at £6.50 and the homemade pie hit the spot. Some of the veg could've had a larger portion but that wouldn't stop us going back or recommending this pub. Nice friendly service too!!

Fantastic friendly village pub who have absolutely nailed customer service and Covid safety during these times. First vist was superb and would recommend highly. I live 16 miles away and wouldn't hesitate to make the trip over again.

Had a good meal with family. There was a lot going on because they were having a bbq outside at the same time but food and service was still good.

Great food and really big portions. All food is cooked to order in a family pub. I had the burger and it was definitely homemade. The service was great as you should expect from anywhere, but I was impressed by the can-do attitude that the staff had and the way that they made all of my family feel welcome. This is my local, and I am ashamed to admit that in a year of living here, this is my first visit. It won't be so long until I next go. To all at the Rose and Crown, keep doing what you do best because what you do is brilliant.

Very well run village pub. Food was excellent, staff were excellent, lasagne was excellent.

The food was terrible I had the lasagne which was mushy and swimming in gravy Extensive menu that needs to be cut down and food cooked in-house.

Very good place ! Food was amazing , so good ! They have all the classics as you expect and loads of additional meals , i had swordfish steak with garlic and chilli prawns , and i loved it. Service was great and they have a big gin menu aswell . Would defo go back again !

Great new landlord and landlady. The chefs pie of the day and mash is homemade with proper shortcrust pastry, not those pop on tops and filled with big chunks of meat. Definately worth a visit
