Definable a Locals' local. No food offered but you are welcome to bring in your own as long as you tidy up. Very busy most evenings with a noisy crowd doing village activities.

Bit cramped but has a jukebox to play requested songs on and drinks aren’t badly priced

We pop in for a couple of beers after playing football here and it's a lovely pub. Guy behind the bar is a top guy and is Uber welcoming and friendly since we have been coming here for the last few years or so. Good beers and bar snacks and a fun joyous atmosphere. Credit to the town

Went in on New Years Day for a quick drink after a dog walk. We had a friend who has autism with us and can find new social situations overwhelming, however Liam and Silvie were very welcoming, kind and inclusive. We had a lovely experience and the drinks and choice of pub snacks were excellent

Lovely Inn! The owners are amazing looking after everyone, including all 4-legged friends! Great selection of beers and ciders. Snack selection is fantastic.

Top staff, great range of drinks and the atmosphere is cosy but not claustrophobic. Staying for a drink is ideal, stay for the food is even better

Stopped off here waiting for a pickup onto elsewhere. Looks like a nice little pub. 10min walk from the train station. Good for ales. Not sure about the lagers, I had a cider.

These days, the big drawcard of The Rising Sun is that it's got a massive garden, so if you're trying to keep some social distance, it's easy to do. Inside it's your classic English pub. They've got a solid range of booze on tap, and there's a bus stop right across the road, making it an easy option for a non-driving day trip.

Called in for the first time with some friends . Good atmosphere with folks chatting and laughing. Bar staff friendly and and helpful . Traditional drinker will pop in again when weather better as garden looks a nice place to relax with a pint.

Nice little tradotional country pub . Selling draught beers and some food although I have not eaten here myself. Tuesdays they have a quiz night .

Great local pub. Liam and Sylvie are doing a wonderful job restoring the reputation of the pub. A good choice of real ales and lager plus some craft gins and a good atmosphere. Love to visit them when I get the chance.

A very rustic style pub. Just popped in for drinks and absolutely loved it, very good for groups of friends. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. The Christmas decorations are very nice too. Reminds me a lot of the old rustic style pubs. It's like going into a time capsule into the 80s-90s Watch out for the low ceiling!

Best little pub in the area! The ale, mostly from nearby XT Brewery, is always excellent and in top condition. The clearest, best pint in the village for definite! The service is always lovely, as are the hard working couple who have run the pub since 2015.
