We've been wanting to go to the dolphin for ages and we wasn't disappointed, we had the Sunday roast sharer and it was the best roast dinner we've ever had, everything on the plate was simply stunning, the staff where very welcoming and pleasant so overall a great dinning experience.

I’m very conflicted in giving this pub a good review. It’s a little gem, a secret one doesn’t really want anyone else to know about, lest it becomes too popular and hard to get a reservation for. Shhh

Lovley meal again in the Dolphin, food top notch and service good too. Always a high standard and never disappoints. Mario was great, very attentive and friendly. Burratta was tasty and scotch egg delicious Pie of day with mash n veg very good Slow cooked beef ragu rigatoni very tasty and all good portion sizes.

The hamburgers are great, staff are friendly and they even open on Christmas Day for an hour. That's dedication. Sometimes it can be crowded though.

Where do i start.i am a massive fan of steak i could eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner and god as my witness the steak was literally cooked to perfection the nicest steak ive had in my life and doubt id ever taste another evan as near as nice.the two young girls POPPY and LOLLA served us,they greeted us with warm friendly smiles,they engaged in conversation but did not make us feel like they were to much was enough convo to be pmeasant warm and polite but not to much convo if this makes sense.i was dining with my mum and cousin and im speaking on their behalfs also.evan the deserts were amazing.il stop with the praises now but i strongly and highly recommend the dolphin.be aware though its easy to order so much food you are likely to over eat as evan when your full you still crave the flavours.....keep up the good work gu6s and never loose the chef.compliments to the chef.

Me and my partner came down to the dolphin after hearing glowing review’s from our friends. We came on a quiet monday evening and was greeted by a calming atmosphere. We sat down and the waiter was so helpful, I had a hard time deciding what drink to chose and he help me on a decision, I ended up getting the pineapple daiquiri which was mind blowing, best cocktail I’ve ever had. I ended up settling on the fish and chip for food, the portion sizes was well worth the money, the waiter working that day was so polite and funny really made up feel welcomed Will definitely come back

Had my mums 79th birthday here for lunch. Amazing food and service and mum was presented with a birthday platter even though we hadn’t told them. We were so touched by this and impressed with the observation of our waiter. Thank you so much to the Dolphin team.

I absolutely love this local pub. It has such a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only trouble is finding the best time to go as it can get very busy (especially on the weekend). But a lovely place to go for lunch or a catch up with friends.

The service was efficient and friendly and the food really nice. We couldn't believe how big the portions were, and the buttermilk chicken burger was delish! :)

This is a fantastic village pub. The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming. It's always super busy and the staff are very friendly. Dogs are welcome here to. The food is amazing the service is the second to none. Friendly staff who interact and make you feel at home. The best thing for me about this pub is the Sunday roasts they are to die for, especially the sharing Sunday roast it easily feeds 3/4 people.

Beautiful Sunday roast. I had the beef which just melted in your mouth. Gravy could have been a little thicker, but it was still nice. My parents had the pork and the lamb, and they both said theirs was delicious. Friendly and fast service. Would definitely go back for food again.

Just popped along before my daughters went back to school and on a Wednesday night it was packed and lively, with people going on to stay for drinks after their food. I can definitely recommend the paella!

We had this recommended when staying at a campsite in Aylesbury. The fact it was so far away we thought there must be a reason it had been recommended, so we ignored the myriad of similar looking establishments a lot closer to us and went to the Dolphin. Great service from walking in to the bar, being taken to our table and very polite and attentive staff helping with any questions. The food was honestly amazing. The lamb kebabs with flatbreads ant tzatziki were simply awesome. If there was one thing that could be complained about, it was the portion sizes. They were massive. So much so that elderly parents could not finish and felt a little over faced with so much food. With food left over, there was sufficient for the elders to take out a portion and have a second meal. Slightly cheaper and smaller portion sizes would be great for the dolphin because they then may get people purchasing a dessert; as it was, we were so full we had to forfeit those. Great pub, great food, great service. Wish the beer was better, but that is a personal preference and there was plenty of choice. Maybe some alcohol free spirits would also be a nice touch. Fully recommended. Thank you so much for a real highlight of our visit to the area.

Food was hood although it was a bit noisy mainly because it was fairly early (6.30pm). The main annoyance was the addition of a totally a expected 20% service charge. I received the bill that was as expected then when presented with the payment machine the service charge had been added and no option to change.

My much loved and much frequented local. Friendly staff, always welcoming, fantastic food and a great ambience. There's a reason I'm a regular!

Excellent pub with a delicious Sunday roast. Plentiful (well cooked) vegetables and succulent meats. Staff were very attentive and food arrived quickly. Good value meal with generous portions. Always a pleasure to visit.

Nice pub, but was there on a bank holiday Sunday and a man came in looking for a drink at 21:15 and the manager at the time said he was closing soon. Another man (known to the manager) came in shortly after and was served. Sign said they were open until 22:30. Won't be going back.

Sunday lunch. ( 23rd june). Wife and myself. Seafood platter to share for starter was great. We then ordered sunday lunches, lamb for myself and beef for my wife with accompanying veg & side dishes. The beef came in a single thick slice, which had obviously been sous vide (very odd) and while it was very tender, it tasted of nothing at all. My slow cooked lamb came in a reformed cylindrical format that whilst perfectly tasty was not the sliced version one associates with sunday lunch. The veg was barely cooked at all, and the gravy was a generic brown gloop. On the plus side the service and the beer and wine were lovely. The Dolphin unfortunately seems to have lost it's way a little.

Always nice good and good service in a lovely environment

Had a fantastic dinner for my wife's birthday. The 20oz sharing chateaubriand was delicious, as were all the sides and sauces it came with (especially the onion rings which were more like a tempura batter), and my 7yo said the kids burger was the best he'd ever had. Cocktails were very good too, though the wine list is less well chosen - no ages and both we had would have been better kept a few more years. A minor quibble for such a good meal though.

Nothing on the menu appealed to me. Vegetarian option I wouldnt eat. Was very limited. Ordered chunky chips but that wasn't what I got. Service was good but food was slow coming out.

Excellent venue. Terrific atmosphere. Great service. Good choice of drinks I would have given 5 stars for food, but my daughter found a lump of fatty gristle in the meat content of her Steak and Ale pie. Nevertheless I'll go back. (It's so much better than the 3 locks) in my opinion!!!!)

Just ate here today, plenty of parking, the atmosphere and staff were really nice and the food was delicious and very reasonable, would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back

Didn’t really want a traditional Sunday Roast especially when we saw the huge portions served out to those that went for that option Both of us selected two starters and least one of each would be offered at some establishments as a main course! Great service, food and value for money

Excellent Sunday roast, cool breeze flows through the restaurant making it very comfortable even on a hot day. Beef was like fudge so melt in the mouth amazing. Friendly attentive staff. Only slight comment would be to have extra gravy available as it was so nice.

What a gem of a find this place was. Came to meet our son and partner for a spot of Sunday lunch. Sat in the bar area, without a prior reservation. We had the Sunday roast sharing platter. Exceptional value for £37.50. Food was absolutely divine. The selection of meats were fabulous. Plenty of veg that was tasty. Best I've had anywhere Service was quick, professional and with a smile. Great atmosphere, and the place was spotless and modern. Well recommend here.

The staff were amazing, we arrived early but our table wasn’t ready so we waited in the bar with a drink. A really polite member of staff told us there would be an additional delay to be seated but offered us a complimentary drink which was lovely. It wasn’t too long before we were seated ! The food was amazing the staff were attentive polite all I can say is excellent customer service!

First visit was very good, service was friendly, took a few minutes for us to get served but not too long. Meals were good portions and good quality. Had the souvlaki sharing dish which is recommended.We will return.

Exceptionally service, and so accommodating, we went for lunch and couldn't have asked for much from the staff, plus the food was excellent and HUGE. Thank you for making a difficult outing so pleasurable.

Bright open spacious bar and restaurant. Extensive menu good price, the portions were excellent. I had spaghetti carbonara which was perfect. Moules were top class as were the Caesar salad and fries..

I couldn’t recommend this pub enough! We had honey chorizo and tempura prawns to start which were both so yummy & then we both had steak for mains, cooked perfectly ! Staff super friendly and constantly on the ball.

We came to the Dolphin this evening on recommendation for date night. We literally have had the best date night in over a year. Everything from the atmosphere when we arrived, the speciality drinks that were served the bar staff, the attentive restaurant staff and chef have all been absolutely amazing. I need to point out that from the moment we arrived and were served our first drinks with Patrick, and our special cocktail with Lucas, and our brilliant waitress, Lillie-Mae, and the amazing food cooked by Ouan, this literally has been the best night out we have had in ages. The ambience and decor of this place is just so special. We have had the best night and appreciate all the wonderful staff that make this place something else. Couldn’t recommend it more. We have been waiting a long time for a pub in the village and we're chuffed. The menu is very good, the service is always great and the whole bar and restaurant area is very welcoming. Would definitely recommend 👌

Had lunch there yesterday and not only was it very slow to get food out but when I finally got my beef wellington it was a disgrace like they had run out and tired fobbing me off with a poor bit of steak wrapped on some pastery nothing like a wellington then the chefs had the nerve to eye ball me across the dinning room like I was wrong for sending back the most expensive dish rhey do because they had made a poor wellington terrible quality and terrible chefs with terrible attitude

Amazing food & service. We have never had Xmas day out before so was wondering how the experience would go....we were delighted ! Definitely worth every minute. Stunning food & service & attention to detail. We have also had some Sunday lunches here too all I can say is wow the food is superb & highest quality Looking forward to spending new years eve having a meal & listening to the live singer.

It was noisy with people talking, hard to hear what your companions were saying. Maybe more soft furnishings. Food and service were ⁰were great.

Amazing food and place. Was recommended this place and was not disappointed. We managed to get a table 10days in advance but can see why it's definitely a place to go. Great service with fabulous food and massive portions. Thankfully can box it up to go. Would definitely recommend this gem hidden in a small little country village.

A fantastic turnaround from the old pub.

This was our first time eating here, the refurb of the pub is amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, there wasn't an empty table, we knew a few people in there so it was nice chatting with them, as you can see the dinners look fabulous, Andy and I shared the roast dinner for two, and our friends had the gammon roast and the chicken roast it was good, massive Yorkshires, they were light and really good, there were a couple of issues with cold veg but they were soon rectified, the staff were all great - pleasant and very helpful, I definitely would go there again - which is good as a group of my friends and I are going there for our Christmas get together 🎄😊

We’ve eaten here a few times for a Sunday roast and every time it has been superb! Tops a lot of others in the local area, portions are generous, great quality food and a good price.

Recently refurbished and beautifully decorated dining room within the pub. Food was awesome, steak and cheese pie was particularly memorable - delicious. In fact all the food was amazing. Service was super friendly. The young lady serving was really happy to engage with us, and the whole experience was just perfect. Definitely going again soon.

Fitted us in for bar food as we hadn't booked. Great food, friendly and very helpful. Even booked a Taxi for us.

We’ve been a few times now to the Dolphin either for a roast or for an evening meal and never been disappointed. Food is delicious, staff are welcoming and for what the food is, I think well worth the prices. Looking forward to visiting again.

Visited for the first time today for a family Birthday meal. The service was fantastic and the food was really good quality. Very good value for money and nice cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be revisiting!

Fantastic family meal at the newly refurbished restaurant. Two lots of Chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection IMO, we asked for medium rare 👌 also had one pasta dish which was also lovely. Deserts were also good, good sized portions and priced well. Off road parking and it looks like they are doing a nice out side area for the summer, I think. Service was great too! Highly recommended and will be returning for another Chateaubriand in the near future 😋

Lunch for four people on a Tuesday, comfortable seating in the bar which is dog friendly. Good menu with a selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

Delicious sharing platter Sunday lunch

Lovely food, great friendly staff. The scallops were cooked to perfection and were very tasty. Would go back without a doubt.

Eaten here twice and both times have been excellent. Food is incredible and service is faultless. Waitress we had was great with the kids. First time we had the beef wellington and it was amazing and second time was the steak which was cooked to perfection.

What a great find. Highly recommend, the food was great with very good portions. Attentive staff and nice atmosphere. The only thing was our starters arrived very shortly after we received our 'while you wait'. But food was great and we will definitely be visiting again.

8/10 for a Sunday Roast. Just get them roast potatoes crispy and it would be 10/10. Meat and vegetables were perfect. Steak is wonderful but unfortunately the chips are generic pre made which takes it down a level quality wise.

Had a fish and chip dinner which was nice. Then chocolate brownies with what was supposed to be rum and raisen ice cream. Unfortunately a big let down no flavour of rum no sign of raisen. I did question this.

Love this place, such a breath of fresh air in the area. Good selection of beers and wines, the food is good and the Sunday Lunch is great. Most importantly the ambience and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

We stopped here for a meal and the food was fantastic. The fillet steak was delicious and one of the best steaks I've had for a while. The crispy pork crackling strips are definitely worth a go too! Nice choice of drinks in a warm atmosphere and very friendly staff.
