A very small pub serving great food with excellent service and a buzzing atmosphere. Obviously a local’s pub and was packed on a Friday night. The staff were very helpful and the food was really good.

I've been coming to this pub regularly over the years, and it never disappoints! Great little thatched country pub on the village green in Chearsley. Great staff, drinks, food, and the other locals are friendly too which means lots as an outsider that doesn't usually fit in! ... Currently working in the area and it's quickly becoming my local!

Called in for a spot of lunch & a drink on our way to Ascot. Great find. Perfect country village pub. Thatched roof, lots of character and very friendly hosts. Food was lovely. Apparently the rear beer garden is great but they had tree surgeons in when we visited so couldn't use it. Highly recommend. 😎👍🏻

We had seen this pub advertised on best eating places and thought we would try it out . Just turned up and the service and food was faultless, my husband even had 2 deserts. .The atmosphere was very good and staff were very good Would highly recommend

Freezing day outdoors so fancied a place with a cosy fire and The Bell is one of the few pubs local to me that I knew would fit the bill. Abracadabra! Three logs on the burner, nice bit of banter with ‘the lads’ at the bar, great service and good food into the bargain. Still the best pint of Pride for miles and a reminder that this also has the best summer beer garden too. Glad to have come by.

What a wonderful English pub. A rare mix of thatched tradition, excellent food, pretty gardens and fun. The staff are so friendly and it seems that everyone at The Bell leaves their worries behind as they come in the door. Thoroughly enjoyable birthday lunch with family aged 82 to 16yrs. A lovely countryside pub and local watering hall. This place oozes charm, and could be that postcard in your mind of a proper rural pub. It's a Fuller's pub with the usual beers served, augmented with cask ales, in a lovely thatched space with only a smattering of tables at the bar. There's a lovely garden space at the back (and a covered outdoor space in case the elements are against you). Parking is available but limited (with many cars parked on the road in front). The service is top notch with staff experienced, polite and welcoming. The food menu is the usual fare though quite extensive (sandwich, burger, pizza, pub classics like hunters chicken). Speaking of, the food we had was really tasty, well made, well sized and of top quality. I'm told the burgers we had were home made which is a real testimony of the team's skill. If you're in the area this is a top pub and is the type of village pub dreams are made of.

Sharon had 16 guests arriving from Essex for my husband's 60th birthday. We were a bit nervous as we did not know the pub or the area, but we didn't need to be, as Sharon was soooooo prepared and helpful. Due to the weather, she had arranged inside and outside spaces for us. We decided to stay indoors as she had sectioned off an area for us with a lovely log fire, and the atmosphere was fabulous. Fod and service was responsive. We had a big party of 8 and all the food came out at the same time. Amazed at the quality of cooked pizzas. Very filling portions and a cosy feel to the pub.

Lovely little village pub Staff very friendly and sandwiches was delicious

This place is just about everyone's idea of what a traditional English country pub should be. Facing the village green, the thatched building looks like it has just been lifted from the lid of a chocolate box, meanwhile it is equally cosy and characterful inside, with old wooden beans and an open fireplace. Ales are from the Fullers portfolio, including the excellent Dark Star Hophead. There is a decent, sensibly priced menu featuring all the pub classics and a bit more besides, plus a good range of pizzas and sandwiches at lunchtimes. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Great lunchtime visit on Valentines day. Certainly recommend The Bell for a good lunch and high quality beer.

A favourite watering hole when I’m in the area. I would love to tell you more but I don’t ever remember leaving this fine establishment. I do know when I’m there I have a cracking time though.

What a great surprise… popped in for an afternoon pint in the autumn sun and at a loss as what to cook tonight I saw the Saturday night steak deal… two steaks and a bottle of wine for £35!! Impressed by the offering we booked and returned… great bottle of red and two of the best quality steaks we’ve had out for a long time… lovely peppercorn sauce too! 😋 Staff were great, thank you and well done… we’ll be back very soon.

Thanks for a delicious Sunday lunch today. We had a great time in the pergoda - the children had plenty of space to run around, which was perfect for us. The roast beef was tender and juicy, served with roasties, Yorkshire pud to die for and loads of veg. There was a good range of options for children and the best apple crumble of the year. The staff were all so kind and attentive and the food was amazing. Please send our thanks to your chef and kitchen staff. We shall be back!

Greasy fish in batter terrible munch

We received a warm welcome and the service was excellent and very friendly. A good choice of traditional pub lunch on the menu. Food was tasty and decent sized portions especially the generous crumble and custard for pudding. We have lunched there a few times and have always enjoyed it. We will definitely go again.

An ok pub, good beer selection, friendly staff and the food is consistently good. Rural location, nice garden, definiately worth a lunch time drop in.

Beautiful food, very fast service. The chunky chips were by far the best bit not greasy or overdone. Slightly crisp outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. The outside garden and park were very nice too. The app worked a treat and we ordered from the table. 100% will go there again and reccomend to others to try it.

We popped over for a Sunday lunch with the children on an unusually warm and sunny day. We had been searching for a nice pub with an outdoor play area so the little ones could play. We chose to eat outside, ordered our food using the qr code in the table and the food was decent. Staff were lovely, service was great. Such a lovely little pub!

This pub has a lot going for it. In a small village. Very good beer on hand pump which is well kept. Friendly service. Standard pub food, well produced and also more unusual food items. We will return.

This is a lovely pub with loads of options for where to eat. The seating in the pub is quite small but you have 3 options outside. There's a outside room which looks cosy and warm, a marquee in the carpark with benches and a patio heater. And finally you have the benches in the back garden. Had the veggie Sunday roast which was good bit didn't have anything to replace the meat. It's really easy to order and pay through the website.

I’ve been here a few times now for drinks and once for food - basically I’d highly recommend it. There is a car park at the rear which can get a little full but usually just big enough. You then have the beer garden 🍻 🌳to the rear of the actual pub which they’ve made a cracking job of. Last weekend we met friends for drinks and we decided to have food too, I opted for the Philly Burger 🍔 which is made with Slices of Fillet Steak - it’s VERY good!! Highly recommended from two of us who ate it. My partner had a meat pizza 🍕 which she said was good, and we also ordered a bowl of Nachos… again, very tasty and a huge portion! The service was top-notch too, which is really nice to see in current times as pubs/restaurants are short staffed often.

We booked in for a meal to break our journey and what a lovely surprise. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was superb. I would definitely recommend the hallibut - beautifully cooked and served with seasonal veg. A good selection of beers were on offer too.

Good location, food was average. Let down by no Wi-Fi outside. Pub should install a Wi-Fi extender so that everyone can use it outside. Otherwise this, in combination with no mobile signal, makes for a difficult ordering process which is mandatory with Covid.

We’ve been meaning to visit all the pubs local to Haddenham since we arrived, pre Covid, 2 years ago. Fantastic beer garden that caters for all ages, hugely beautiful setting at the heart of the village, great character building and the staff can’t do enough for you. Oh, and the best pint of London Pride for a Country mile. Well done.

Visited with a group of friends. We'd looked at a few pubs that were roughly half way between us all, and chose the Bell as it has a good range of options for our various dietary requirements. They have set up covered outdoor seating with heaters, so we had a comfortable afternoon despite the weather. They also have an app-based ordering system, though traditional menus/ordering available if preferred. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food very tasty. The pub closed for a couple of hours after lunch, but the staff allowed us to sit and chat in their covered seating area for the whole afternoon, which was really kind and much appreciated. Thank you to the Bell. Will look forward to visiting again :)

Friendly staff. Clever order system. Fast service. Good food. Also dog friendly. First visit, halfway through walking Wychert Way. Would go back again. A member of staff even gave us a blanket from her car for my wimpy dog!

One of the best pubs I know and a deserving winner of the Trip Advisor best pub in Buckinghamshire.

We enjoyed a very tasty al fresco lunch here, with friendly and helpful service. We will be happy to make a return visit next time we are in the area.

My father went in there when he was 16yrs old we all lived in village and brought up there our fathers chair which was detected to him is in pride place

The Bell has to be one of the best village pubs we been too.. such a warm freindly welcome from the bar staff as you enter. The garden is amazing with a kids play area too and so much space to sit out there for food and drinks . Food is incredible and the staff are so helpful.. thoroughly recommend it..

This summer we have made Friday nights at the Bell a habit. What an amazing proper English pub this is, with lovely staff and great food. When the weather is fine, we walk, have drinks and eat pizza.Try it out, you will not be disappointed. Roger
