Lovely pub great space and good vibe. Food good and well priced. We were served by Alfie and he was a delight!

a bustling pub with lots going on and a nice menu, especially for christmas. the barmaid was so accommodating to me and went above and beyond. and they apparently have poker on sundays which i may well take a look at!

My favourite pub to go to all the staff are amazing and Alfie always go above and beyond for the customers and makes the best drinks x

Alfie was amazing he makes me feel welcome and always goes above and beyond to make all my guests feel comfortable! He goes above and beyond at the poker nights and ensures we all have drinks and helps players order food! He is very knowledgable about drink deals and we love it when he is on the bar! Just had a lovely roast beef dinner here today. Last time I came here for a roast they didn’t have any mint sauce which kind of spoilt it for me so today I brought my own. And yes I do like mint sauce on my roast beef dinner. Really enjoyed it today.

Had a really nice visit, and a very nice young lady who served us, she was patient, polight, and good at her job. Typical pub food, a good selection of drink, and a seemingly friendly crowd. I would go again.

Not a regular, but been here a few times now and always has a good atmosphere. The bands on Saturday night never disappoint, which is the main reason for switching from our usual venues

We have loved next door for a few years but never been allowed in with our children. This rule has recently changed under new ownership. We have just come for our first time with our 2 children and had a lovely meal. We initially ordered roasts but they had sold out, I feel this was understandable being late in the day on Sunday and the new bar tender was very apologetic about this. We opted for fish and chips and mixed grill instead which were great, especially consider the price. As the menu seems to offer great value and they now allow children we will definitely be coming back regularly.

The lovely Rebecca (Manager) just served me this wonderful pint after recommending it to me. I’m halfway through it and it is well nice!

Slow service Good beer and reasonably priced Warning: if you plan on spending anytime in the beer garden (which is nice) prepare yourself to feed the mosquitoes! Either wrap up or spray with repellent! I spent three hours outside in the evening and was bitten to pieces 🤬

The Rose & Crown is now very family friendly with a good kids menu & activities at the weekends. Great food at affordable prices. Sitting in the garden on a nice day is lovely too. The new owners doing a great job & welcoming every time.

I won a hamper in a raffle which was filled with lovely stuff of which I didn’t like any so my work colleague and wife done ok ….i ended up with a bottle opener

Beautiful garden setting with good beer. Service was ridiculously slow. We didn't wait less than 10 mins per round. Why do you only have 2 staff on on a Friday? That increased to 3 staff, but it didn't help much. People were walking out unserved. We put up with it for a time and then left for better service at the Dukes Head.

I recently came to watch the football and I had a bite to eat. Tamara was very friendly and accommadating. The outside area where we sat on the decking was very relaxing. I will definitely be back!

What a difference 6 weeks make. Great to see the pub is now a friendly family pub. The new owners Rebecca and Brahim are so friendly and welcoming and the food and atmosphere are great. Toby and Jake and the staff team are very helpful, friendly and always have a smile great customer service. The garden is amazing with plenty of seats to enjoy on a sunny day. I look forward to my visits and highly recommend visiting, and I'm sure you will return.

The Rose and Crown has been my local for many years. It is so lovely to see it return to a family pub. The new management Rebecca and staff are so lovely and welcoming. Great atmosphere, great food which covers all needs, great childrens menu. There are also childrens games added to a lovley garden just ready for the summer holiday break. Highley recommend a visit.

Rose and Crown is a lovely family friendly pub. The new owners have really taken on board the feedback from the locals and customers to turn the pub into a pub you want to keep going to. The food is really good and all the staff makes you feel welcome. Drinks and food are very well priced with lots of offers available too. Overall a lovely pub to visit with friends or family!

The general atmosphere of the pub is fantastic! Very lively and friendly! The bar staff are also great, Rebecca was very welcoming! Had the stake and ale pie and that was a hit, will definitely be returning!

We’re very happy with the new management, we finally feel welcome. The staff were friendly, atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. They have a garden which makes it even better, and the new manager Rebecca was super helpful with recommendations on the menu. Definitely worth a visit!

I have been coming here for a few months now. Initially reaction when I first came in was that I would never return, silly signs on the door, owners dogs jumping at you being a nuisance (I have nothing against dogs) but this was not on. The general morale was awful... The place has since been taken over and it's brilliant now, the energy you can feel, the motivation amongst the staff - Toby and Jake are superb. My family refused to come in here, but its become more welcoming and fun. Just what the local community needed!

I ate buffet food at this pub (chicken drumsticks) whilst hosting family for a funeral and 2 hours later I became extremely sick.. long story short it was the worst case of food poisoning my family have ever seen (following a consolation with doctors).. it caused me to collapse outside of their pub. It was a very distressing experience and it could only have been from the food served at this pub as I was fine all day. I have called the pub and emailed multiple times and they have ignored me, despite apologising to my family at the pub on the day it happened. I am really disappointed with their services and lack of cooperation in resolving this.I would advise everyone to stay clear of the food!

Not me getting scratched and bit by dogs as I leave the building. yikes 😬, never again! Don't go if you don't like dogs, scared of dogs, have other dog(s) etc. three of them just running around.

I enjoyed the food . Only marked down as not all items on the menu were available . Lovely place .

History of the Rose and Crown: Charles Mawer, from Lincolnshire, and his wife Mary, moved into a cottage at Wallington Corner, about 100 yards from the Boorne brewery, around 1848. They started operating a beer shop cum grocery from there. The name “The Rose & Crown” was being used by 1861. As soon as you walk through the doors of the establishment, you'll find the staff welcoming & friendly. Great atmosphere & a warm village feel. The decor is modern and comfortable with plenty of seating. A large beer garden with a covered area, plenty of space & seating. Dog-friendly... 🐕 Great menu selection. Definitely will return & thoroughly recommend it.

Attend this public house a few times a week. Food is good and plenty on the plate stuff are always happy to advise on any special needs. The toilets are always clean and smell press unlike a lot of pubs.

What a Pub! Fantastic beer garden. Has a dart board too, all the staff were really helpful and polite. And on top of this the food was superb. I will defiantly be coming back.

My daughter took to lunch here. Had a great time. The food was great and staff wonderful. The regulars are friendly bunch. My son goes there regularly so was looked after well.

Frequented this venue for the past few years. Food is great, staff are friendly and welcoming. The beer garden is lovely too with outdoor heating for the colder nights. The little dogs running around really gives the pub a warm, family feel. Would recommend.

Couldn't rate food or service as didn't eat, not through want of trying. Arrived at just after 3 on a Sunday, food coming out looks nice enough, asked for 1 beef, 1 turkey and a steak pie. Was told on 1 turkey left?! Kitchen is open till 6. Sat and had a drink contemplating what to do when a couple came in 2 mins later ordered 2 Sunday lunches and paid. They obviously have a pre booking system so must know the minimum amount of covers required. Rated atmosphere average neither good nor bad So how do you run out of food at 3 on a Sunday? Badly managed. Also the couple left half their food so maybe not that nice

It was 5 stars in all only that on my previous visit had a response that to let know at reception that I was offered ? From the manager. Otherwise all in all The Best.

It's a modest local boozer. Great to have.

It's been smartened up since I used to drink here 20 years ago, but it still has a mediocre selection of beers on. Food looked ok but didn't eat, might go back one day soon and see.

Visited the Rose & Crown this evening. Had a fantastic time and special mention to the owner after being let down by an external beer promotion. Pub is always very welcoming and the pub garden is definitely worth a visit when the sun is shining.

Great staff and wonderful atmosphere during the world cup today. Made all the better that they were dog friendly too. Garden looks like it would be perfect for a warm summer's evening.

Poor quality of food! Hair found in food. Owner didn’t seem to care. Just let his dogs jump up at our table trying to get to out food. Even one of the owner dog bit a member of our group! Been going for many years but definitely won’t be retuning now. No apology from own or chef.

We really enjoy coming to this pub as the garden is brilliant and the staff are so friendly but the three pugs that are the 'pub dogs' are out of control. It's laughed off by the regulars but these dogs attack any other dog that comes in, and bit both me and my husband. I would recommend this pub if you come without a dog, and I would never bring a child here; seeing as they are next to a beautiful park, this seems a real shame.

Popped in Saturday lunchtime had the fish and chips and a mixed grill food was amazing and so was the service very friendly would definitely do again, the homemade tomato soup was lovely, lovely atmosphere

What a Lovley little pub with the friendliest staff, we heard about an open mic night and decided to check it out… such a great atmosphere and the sweet South African bar man was hilarious and made our night… We will be back again look forward to our next visit!! If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

Came to poker night last Thursday and had the house platter before we started playing. The poker was very fun and the house platter was VERY generous and cooked perfectly! Shame I didn’t win the poker but I shall be back on Thursdays from now on! Thank you to all at the Rose and Crown for an amazing evening

Popped in for some lunch. Just lovely atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff. The food is awesome, thanks chef. Prices are more than reasonable. Ample space inside and out, easily seat a hundred when Covid restrictions lift. At the moment, more than adequately spaced out so that a table of six has all the space to social distance and move around the pub. Awesome outside terrace under cover when it rains. Will definitely be back...again and again. Thanks Rose, you been real good!

Popped in on the off chance we could get a table, lovely pub, amazing back garden, we had the Irish Nacho’s and a sharer platter, the presentation of the food was lovely, a nice lady called Lynne served us. we didn’t wait for drinks at all and they were busy too. We will definitely be returning when we are passing. Five stars Lynne

Tried to book in but they wouldn't pick up the phone or answer my email. Decided to see if there would be any space on the day but was rudely told at the door they were full and try booking next time. Well I tried to book?!? Won't bother trying again. Would've thought they would try to appreciate customers after lockdown but clearly not.

We visited this pub for lunch.Was impressed with new decor as pub looked tired previously. Ordered food which all 3 meals were cold. 2 dogs roaming freely round the pub jumped up on the chairs and tried to eat off the plates. Dogs were not controlled at all, and staff didn't really care.Would not visit here again.
