The Rooftop in Hackney

This is the bar they refer to as Kaso in the evening 9and my review relates only to the bar) - There are things about this place that are good and things that are not so. We popped in here for a drink having been to Bibo across the road for dinner. First impressions were good as the security team were very polite and well mannered (and having been in that game myself I was pleased that they were creating that good first impression) but it all went wrong when we got out of the lift on the 7th floor. As we walked from the lift to the bar area we were summoned (and I use that word very specifically) to a podium and asked "how can I help" which seemed like a silly question when arriving at a bar at 10:30 in the evening. I said my wife and I would like a drink and he said how many of you are there. Now maybe I'm being a little pedantic but "my wife and I" should have provided clue 1 and the fact that there were two of us should have provided clue 2, but hey ho. But then the very unfriendly front of house guy then said "..we're very busy so if you don't mind standing outside follow me.." and walked out to the terrace dropped a couple of menu's an the top of bench and walked off. Now I'm OK with the place being busy, the standing and the being outside (after all it was peasant evening) but a) the attitude was poor and b) shortly after our arrival he took one small group through to the main bar and then 2 minutes after he dealt with us sat a group of 3 young women at a table six foot away from us and brought an extra chair so they could all sit. Now as I mentioned I've worked in the security industry previously and if I need to validate my views on this I looked after security for the Met Bar in the late nineties and 2000's, Sketch and MoMo's for Mourad Mazouz, The Collection, Home House and a host of other we'll known venues so I know when someone is being disingenuous, and he certainly was. We then met one of the bar team who (and I wish I'd taken his name) was very friendly, asked if we needed any advice and took our order quickly. Unfortunately by that point I was a bit pee'd off so we decided to drink our drinks and move on somewhere better. Would definitely not go back.

First impression was very good, a nice staff brings us to our table. We discovered that the selection of dishes is kept to a minimum. Then the waitress was rude, impatient and didn’t take care of one guest’s intolerance. The food in itself was nothing special.

It is a beautiful rooftop bar in the hotel in Shoreditch. We got a table at the terrace. There is a partial view from the city. We order some starters that were just amazing. Arancini, fried chicken and beef tacos. All no we presented and great taste. They have a nice drinks menu. The non-alcohol cocktail was tasting pure clove, not nice, but the alcoholic ones seems best. The inside area it is in pinkish colour and it was curious that there was a lot of women. My first time there was for a wine tasting as well. It is a good bar, nice music. Overall great ambience

Went here for drinks with work friends. Was put on a waiting list for a table outside and then sat at a table inside. Service was terrible, despite it being relatively quiet. Asked to be moved outside when a few single tables became available and was told that they could only be given to groups of two, and as we were a group of 6 we couldn't sit there despite them being unused. Drinks were over priced, would not recommend.

The restaurant has a low quality and poor food selection. Prices too high for what it is. Highly overrated place…

Siamo stati in questo rooftop con amici, locale davvero carino ma nulla di che, il Cameriere maleducato e per finire il tutto 2 gin mare tonic 40 pound più il service, appena chiediamo spiegazioni mi risponde che questa è Londra, diciamo proprio un maleducato. Avrei potuto capire il prezzo per 2 cocktail fatti per bene, ma un gin tonic 21 pound e un negroni 12 pound dimostra che sanno di essere a Londra ma non sanno di lavorare in bar Prima ed ultima volta

I speak for everyone that was in my group when I say we had an amazing night, in house DJ provided a really relaxed and chilled vibe, all bartenders and staff were a treat to talk to, staff also went above and beyond to cater for are group moving chairs and tables to accommodate us on the rooftop, will recommend to everyone.

Amazing setting with the view on the city, the atmosphere is chilled and the place is perfect for drinks and chats with friends at sunset. The service is super friendly. Special thanks to Raul that looked after us! :)

Perfect on a sunny late afternoon. Always super- friendly, chatty waiters, delicious cocktails & small plates & a chill, un-rushed atmosphere.

It was my first time there and I will definitely come back (actually I'm thinking to celebrate there my birthday!). We've been welcomed by the lovely Giusy who brought us to our table. During the night we've been served by Filipe, who really did an amazing job taking care of us for the whole time and made sure everything was perfect. Drinks and food were great and I 100% recommend👌

First time visit and We had great experience. Nice atmosphere, amazing cocktails, Outstanding and very professional service- We would like to thank you to Mike and Luca for looking after us . Definitely coming back !

On checking in to the hotel, our room was not ready so reception gave us tokens to use at The Rooftop. We had a lovely time - venue and waiters all brilliant - until the bill arrived and we were told we could not use our tokens. At this point the manager, called Votja Jetelinta, came over to us , a group of girls on a hen do, and told us we could not leave without paying for the drinks and we could not use the tokens. He was becoming more and more aggressive and physically blocking us from leaving the venue even though we were staying at the hotel for 2 nights. He was calling us all names, winking at us and then even marched after us when we left shouting across the bar that he hoped we had a good night whilst laughing. Completely disrespectful, rude and threatening. Do not visit this place if you want a manager who puts the customer first. If he doesn’t like what you say he will try to intimidate you. We even felt sorry for the staff who were quite clearly very embarrassed by his actions too. DO NOT GO HERE, find somewhere will good customer service and managers that don't verbally attack you.

this gorgeous bar is vibrant with a great atmosphere that will guarantee to brighten your night. the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. our waiter Alex was a breath of fresh air who made my birthday night so special and memorable. his cocktail suggestions were spot on, and nothing was too challenging for him. the drinks were devine and beautifully presented. Alex made our night at the rooftop exceptional and we couldn’t thank him more for his service. I couldn’t recommend the rooftop enough.

Me and my girls visited this bar whilst staying at One Hundred for Ruby’s 22nd birthday. On arrival Alex made us feel comfortable straight away and joyfully fulfilled any request we had. He was enthusiastic, charismatic, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. After asking for recommendations he chose us 4 gorgeous cocktails that suited each of us perfectly. Our experience at the rooftop at One Hundred was made amazing by alex’s service. I would highly recommend this bar!

The entire staff was amazing led my manager Luca who educated us on different vodka brands. The music was perfect and the views were amazing I would recommend this place to anyone and ask for Luca
