The Roebuck, Alcester in Stratford-on-Avon

Decided to go to the roebuck for Sunday lunch yesterday with my family and was treated to a delicious beef sunday lunch that fulfilled my cravings. The value for money was amazing especially the included cauliflower cheese-my personal favourite!! To add to this experience, the two young staff, Emma and Luke, were handling the restaurant exceptionally well and were very friendly and helpful. Hopefully will get the chance to return in the near future!

We had a family Christmas meal for 17 people , both the service and the food was perfect, I would say one of the best roasts I have had in a restaurant for a long time. Would highly recommend.

We did not stay, so rating for restaurant only. Staff were very attentive and great with my 4 year old daughter, who devoured her fish and chips! They got 2 thumbs up from her! My haddock and spring onion fish cakes were delicious…could have had more of the wilted spinach but a minor improvement only.

Came for food 😋 delicious, the Asian guy and mixed race guy are funny proffesional and a pleasure to talk to, made our day, will def return as it feels like your dining with friends...someone told us the rooms are lovely so will have to book next time..def worth a visit!

Had a lovely roast again at the roebuck, the price was far better value than the previous owners, the new management have done a lot of changes and more to come with new signage due shortly, so you,ll know when theyre open. Food was great, service fab, prices £19.99 a roast, £11.99 kids size full roast, other meals are available. Will visit again soon

Stayed here on our way to Birmingham Airport. Welcoming, friendly polite staff and great food, the best veggie pizza ever especially with the added jalopenoes! Breakfast was enjoyed, full English and an omelette which was cooked to perfection.

Four of us ate here one Sunday lunchtime. The food was decent enough but very expensive. The experience itself was utterly ruined by the front of house guy who practically yelled at us on the many occasions he approached our table. It bordered on intimidation. It didn't help that he seemed to have his 5 year old son out with him and let him stand right next to our table and stare at us while we deliberated on our choices. Avoid at all costs if you want a nice relaxed meal and value your ear drums.

Friendly hosts, good full English breakfast. Clean rooms and value for money. Evening meals a little pricey and at the time we were there restaurant closed at 9pm.

Stayed here and had a very warm and freindly welcome. Our room was very good, with all usual facilities, and little extras like toiletries, bottled water and packs of biscuits. Bed was comfortable, shower good . Evening meal was excellent for both of us and service too Breakfast was very good too... Cant fault this place..also very dog freindly. Well worth a visit to stay or just a meal including lunchtime meals.

Great Ambiance and staff Reasonably priced highly recommend

First time in a longtime visited today with my mum . The place is really dated and in need of a tidy up , rips in the chairs and sticky tables , whilst ordering we overheard a table say that the cheesecake was vile when there was asked how was it ...this then made us slightly worried to order food , but we did , food wasn't bad , the chips were under cooked and the coleslaw didn't smell to good . Whilst eating are food another table was asked how there meal was and they replied a few things wrong re over cooked cauliflower cheese , the waitress replied better to be over cooked than under cooked . With all this going on ...we didn't mention our food, it wasn't busy and now we know why . We won't be returning

Friendly, efficient service. The place was clean and tidy, good atmosphere. The outside seating area on the front is right by the road, hence the 3 stars for location, but this is just a personal preference and outside of their control. The prices were reasonable and the portions generous.

Lovely food, I had the steak pie which was homemade with chunky chips and veg. Nice people, great service

Had a meal in the restaurant today, it's changed hands, different chef and really not up to standard. I had tempora chicken with sweet and sour sauce , the batter was too thick not tempora at all , sauce was too spicy and sickly .my husband had a pork roast dinner before the roast was of a good size, today it was pittyful 1 slice if meat , 2 small roast potatoes,, cauliflower cheese watery , 1 carrot not even any veg out on the side . Never worth the 23.95 they charged for the roast .my daughter had a pizza that was over cooked , very little cheese on , a frozen one would have been better , Will not be venturing there again , it used to be a go to place for special meals with the family not anymore

Food was wonderful. Real ale had to be sent back as it was cloudy as anything, but it was replaced without problem.

Excellent service. Staff were so friendly and chatty. The meal was great and will stop off there again on our way to the midlands air festival. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Had a lovely curry with all the trimmings. Friendly atmosphere and staff effecient. Enjoyed the evening. Will be back.

Recently enjoyed a lovely large group meal here. Nothing was too much trouble! The homemade tomato soup created by owner himself was divine. Also really enjoyed my burger, highly recommend! The group ordered a variety of dishes and everyone commented how good the food and service was!

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and all 4 of us chose the roast, pork shoulder. On a positive note, the Roebuck is a very smart looking restaurant and the staff were very polite and attentive. However, a little too attentive at times as we were asked THREE times if our meal was OK. As for the meal, this was a disappointment. I appreciate one man's meat is another man's poison but, although the pork was nice, the crackling had no taste except the taste of old fat. The stuffing was too soft, not crispy and the roast potatoes were also bland. The cauliflower cheese was also bland with stringy cheese which suggests mozzarella was used rather than mature cheese. Our biggest issue by far was the fact that everything on the menu was priced up EXCEPT the Sunday roast. We soon found out why when the bill arrived. To charge £23.95 for a Sunday roast is a disgrace. This was almost the price of a steak. When we have dined in other local establishments, a Sunday roast is usually £14 to £16, and I have to say they have tasted much better than this one. Unfortunately we will not be returning for overpriced underwhelming food

Visited The Roebuck today for the first time and what can I say. The food was excellent, piping hot and great choice all round. Puddings yummy too. Staff were really lovely, pleasant and attentive . Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back!

A lovely place to eat. I highly recommend it. The food was really great and the staff very hospitable. We had a late arrival and they waited for her to arrive before cooking our menu choices. We also felt comfortable sitting and chatting afterwards whilst they tidied up around us. We'll definitely go back if possible.

We held my father’s wake here. The food was amazing and the staff were so kind, considerate and attentive. I would definitely recommend

Dropped in in our way past today, had some lovely food, good pint, service was spot on, couldn't do enough for us, if I lived nearby it would be a local, for sure! If your ever in the area, drop in. Recommended.

Had lunch with my wife and daughter, super friendly welcome, spotless inside and outside, food was 10/10 perfect, busy aswell with a private party and still food and delivery time was perfect, thank you all at the roebuck.

Perfect place for some food and a drink. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was good if a little pricey but that’s to be expected now days.

When in with three friends for a meal after attending a classic car show at nearby Ragley Hall. Lovely food in relaxed and comfortable surroundings complemented by excellent service. Funnily enough a notable part of the meal was the quality of the French Fries: they were amazing!!!
