Really upset by my experience last night. Went in for one drink and the bar staff were slightly standoffish but nothing awful. I walked to a table with my pint and didn’t see the step (no sign or notice that it was there and it was very dark in that part of the pub) and the pint slipped from my hands and cracked all over the floor. No barstaff were willing to help beyond sweeping up the biggest bits of glass, I had to ask 5 times for the blue roll and was then made to clean up the entire pint and bits of glass with my hands. I was then told by the barstaff that the spill was a pisstake. I felt extremely uncomfortable and did not buy another drink. It’s a shame as the food looks great but I will not be returning. As someone who works in hospitality making customers clean up glass at all, let alone with their hands, is unacceptable.

The Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwiches are to die for! Good selection of beers and ciders and funky artwork on the walls. Would definitely recommend, but as it's a small venue & very popular book a table if you can!

We came here after a society meeting, great atmosphere, amazing student prices. The bartender Darcy had fantastic music taste, we were all up and dancing to her playlist. We will definitely be back!

I've been to this lovely pub several times and it's a lovely atmosphere. Especially love Mango the dog and Emilia was a fantastic server!

Always have a wonderful time at the Robin Hood. Mango (the dog) is the highlight of my visits and can pour an amazing pint. Emilia is alright too.

Arbor larger? I hardly know her! But the Robin Hood certainly does. Emilia is the best bartender on this planet, but may be dethroned by Mango the dog. Love this place fr. Fab pub quiz too!! Cheap student deals 😁😁😁😁

Theo & the crew @ The Robin Hood are an A - team extraordinaire! The attention to detail was top notch and would rate it as the most convivial of watering holes in this part of town. Banh Mi was Banhging! Whilst Theo himself is a gem of a man, blessed with charm and an unmatched joie de vivre. Can’t wait for the next foray to this fine establishment.

Dropped in on this gem after reading about the new owners, and had a lovely chat with one of them, very exciting to hear about their plans. Definitely worth a stop for a cold pint after walking up the hill. Will 100% be back when next in Bristol.

What a great little pub... I booked into a nearby hotel for work and it caught my eye. I went in for a drink before heading off for dinner, but didn't need to head off anywhere, the local ales were great, and the Vietnamese fast food top class. I was made really welcome and even got a tour of the place. The room upstairs is a great space with projector and screen... planning to take my team there for our next collaboration meeting. Thank you!

Robin Hood may have stolen from the rich to give to the poor, but everyone is welcome in this splendid pub. The new owners bring a wealth of knowledge and good vibes, the new chef is fantastic, the existing staff are great, and all in all they’re creating something a little bit special.

I can't say enough about this place, fantastic staff helpful and just overall nice, good food and a great selection of beer, Courtney was particularly knowlegeable and could make any cocktail we asked for, I was with my wife and she's signposted to return when were in Bristol next. Hopefully not just because of Courtney. a ten from us.

Took my sister for food as she’s just started uni in the area, and had really lovely time. Such a cute little pub, with authentic Vietnamese street food. Would defo recommend if your in the area

A lovely cosy pub with a vibrant atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. I got talking to the bartender of the night, Darcy and she was more than helpful with the wide array of ciders and lagers the pub offered as well as being an overall sweetheart. Absolutely worth the trek up St. Michael’s Hill!

Went here as i havent visited this pub in over 25 yrs called in here on a Wednesday afternoon we were the only ones in here but served by a lovely kind barmaid who was very helpful kind and polite who we also had a great conversation with will definitely call in again if passing this way great beer

got some affordable pints for students <£4 which is always a perk. best smoking area in the city for a view of bristol

The ideal pub: good music at a reasonable volume to have a conversation, good food at reasonable prices, and good range of drinks. Definitely worth the climb

Arrogant bar manager with a very 'sniffy' nose who isn't suited to serving the public and can't manage to keep the pub open during it's advertised hours.

Robin Hood - Is a beautiful Grade II listed pub located up the notorious St Michael’s Hill. The best thing about the Robin Hood and it is what you’re looking for in any great pub is the atmosphere which is spot on. You can really feel a good aura within the walls of this boozer and I feel it must be down to a pub being on this site for nearly 200 years - the sherbert sipping spirits are sending good vibes. With that I was shocked to see it has recently been put up for sale. Have any of the Bristol crew got any intel on what’s occurring?

I like to consider a regular now of the Robin hood. It's such a lovely atmosphere, Paco's food is fantastic I recommend the dirty pork fries, but they have great veggie and vegan options too. I didn't even like beer before I came here but there choices are all locally brewed and so tasty!

One of the few proper pubs (boozers) left. Great range of local beers and friendly staff and locals. Had a few Basement Brewery beers which were exceptional.

Closed at 10pm on a Saturday. Not nice to find after walking up a very steep hill.

Stopped here when visiting the BRI. Lovely pub - great drinks (excellent non alcoholic beer as I was driving) and the food was good. Very friendly staff. Certainly will call in again.

Lovely ale, lovely and snug. But please make sure to educate the crowds of Bristol on how to take from the rich and give to the poor, do not simply entertain them.

Another decent boozer on St Michael’s Hill, that accommodates both the regulars and the visitors alike.

Great drinks selection. They were happy to book a table even for a Friday night for a leaving do. Food selection was limited but the chicken burger was amazing. I also love the painted wall in the back room.

A quirky pub at the top of a long and steep hill. Its the perfect place for a breather and refreshments. The atmosphere is fab and they serve a solid selection of interesting beers and spirits. Beautiful and quirky artist painted walls with lots of small hidden details. I wished we had more time to enjoy it and to sample what looked like a good menu.

Nice pub with good local craft beer and some outdoor seating front and rear. It currently has 'Chronic Fried Chicken' which is a great pop up their kitchen.

Where do I begin. Atmosphere; stunning. Ambience; unmatched. And the icing on the cake? When my man Elan came and chatted to us I felt more at home then I do eating a Sunday roast at my mother’s house. He was polite, engaging, funny yet respectful, the ultimate human by any measure. I shall be returning imminently to maintain my relationship with my man Elan - I feel sorry for those of you who are yet to engage with him. Thank you for the best night of my life, all the best, god bless.

The beer was good. The barman was very helpful and friendly. The tables were spaced out well. And the food by Tsukemono was 10/10..delicious!

Always a bit packed, because it's a great place :) the food is delicious and their menus are pretty diverse. Staff are lovely and have great taste in music
