A bit of a trek, but got there in the end. Friendly greeting and nice pint of Thatchers, then we saw pie was not on the menu, but we asked and fortunately they had some just prepared, so my parents were thrilled. We all enjoyed our meals and look forward to next visit.

What a great little village secret! Tucked away in the little hamlet of Clifton Reynes. Dinner was Chicken Souvlaki for me and the signature burger for my friend, washed down with a lovely pint of cask ale. Great food, beer, weather and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. A great family, children and pet friendly pub. Don't forget to ask about the dinosaur bone found here and displayed in the bar, the kids will love it.

Excellent in all respects - a real welcome back to the team. Having recently been taken over in management this village community owned pub and restaurant is back in safe hands. A warm welcome awaits you as you walk into a vibrant bar on one side and the restaurant on the other. Service was prompt, food presentation really nice with hot plates and a variety of dishes to suit all palates. Truly delicious. The slow cooked beef was to die for! Portion sizes were good. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. It was a Friday evening so the atmosphere was vibrant with locals as well as those who walked or drove. This is a definite must visit pub and one to watch out for events and specialities. You’ll need to make a booking though. I thoroughly recommend this to everyone.

A long term favourite of mine, the Robin Hood is a village-owned pub and has recently acquired new management with the village being more involved again in its running. This comes with a new menu all of which looked really appetising and a nice change from the sausage and pie-based one previously in place. We had a few decent pints and dinner - my battered fish and chips was fantastic - super fresh and tasty and the ginger puddy was to die for! Service was friendly and efficient. We sat inside as the weather was a bit chilly but I know that the Robin Hood has a huge garden area and is the perfect place to head when the weather is fine and you want to sit out. We were treated to the story of the fossilised dinosaur thigh bone which sits in the fireplace of the bar. This is genuine and was dug up by a local farmer many years ago only a few yards from the pub - and after a brief stint in the local musem has sat in the fireplace since! How many pubs can bost a dinosaur bone? It's worth a visit for this alone!

Don’t expect a roaring log fire or a gastropub, but what you do get is very enjoyable tasty food with very pleasant hard working staff who appear to care whether you enjoyed your visit. From the outside and as you walk in the area looks very basic, but the conservatory is a very pleasant area to eat and the food a portions could not be faulted. The bread and butter pudding was remarkable. The pub specialises in pies and sausages but there were a few good veggie options too. 5 minutes outside of Olney but we were pleased we tried it.

We walked in and the pub was a bit run down. We deliberated whether to stay to eat or go somewhere else and I am so glad we stayed We were there for Sunday lunch. The choice was beef or pork for the roast dinner or you could have any of the pies or sausages with the roast option (huge Yorkshire pudding, roast pots and veg). I chose the beef. My friend chose the steak and Stilton pie. WOW! The beef was gorgeous loads of it, beautifully lean, loads of gravy and 10 different veg - all fresh and all beautifully cooked. My friend’s pie was chock full of beautifully lean and tender beef The pudding menu had everybody’s favourites: Sticky Toffee, Spotted Dick, Bread and Butter pudding, etc. We close the chocolate brownie and the stem ginger steamed pudding. All puds are served with custard, cream or ice cream This was seriously the best Sunday roast dinner I’ve had for years There was a lovely friendly atmosphere. This is a truly British pub and so few still remain. A gorgeous find that I’ll recommend to all my friends This place should be packed every weekend and I can’t recommend it highly enough

First visit in many years so not too sure what we would find. Internally it's still the Robin Hood of old but outside it now has a huge gazebo and further on is the large garden. Pretty quiet so we chose to sit inside. Having seen reports that they only did sausages & pies, we didn't anticipate much choice but receiving a very friendly welcome, looking at the menu was another surprise. OK, not a cordon bleu offering but plenty of choice, and all at a more than reasonable price. I settled for the steak & Stilton Pie (buttery mash & petite pois) with my wife choosing the beef lasagne (with salad & garlic bread). One London Pride & half Diet Pepsi cost just over £32. - a real bargain for 2023 IMHO. The food, which arrive 15 minutes or so later was superb. Very tasty and although the plates weren't huge, they were more than adequate relying on quality rather than quantity. Proven when we declined a desert! Our first visit since Covid but we will certainly be back!

Narrowly miissing the target. The new tennants may need to do a bit more to keep non local clientele from revisiting. Definitely some good but there is a bit to work on. All the food was fine, just fine, but overpriced. The pies look great and all are made in-house, but are small and at £13.50, considering the sides and gravy are just ok, they are too overpriced for what you get. Apart from the pie, the food isn't really anything you couldn't get at a chain pub. The staff are friendly but bar service is slow, considering it was not a busy bar at all. Hopefully the locals can keep the pub going and good luck to the new tennants. But to draw in custom from further a field, quicker service and higher quality of food could potentially help.

Complicated meal times, and a fussy online ordering system, (requiring a credit card, plus multiple charges for late cancellation or reduced attendance number), nearly put me off, but I am glad I persevered. The restaurant -'The Bubble'- is the now restaurant part of an attractive old pub in a small meandering village. There is a large back garden, but parking nearby seems minimal. The menu leans heavily on tapas and steamed bao buns with varied fillings, but they do include fih and chips, plus.burgers, salads , all with refreshingly varied touches. You will properly need 2-4 plates of tapas. We had three -glazed King Pao chicken,Robin Hood Bao bun with duck confit and pickled vegetables, fried Persilade Jumbo Prawns with garlic and parsley plus sides of cheesy truffle fries and super salad including chickpeas, pomegranate seeds, lemon, rocket, cucumber and smoked harissa, and a starter of rosemary focaccia breadwith a dip. Apart from the steamed bun being too chewy for my liking, everything was very tasty and well presented. We finished by sharing one local apple crumble between us which hit the right balance between sweet/tartness. Service was cheerful, efficient and reasonably quick. With a couple of halves of real ale the bill for two came to under £50, which we considered fair. Give it a try. With enough attendees, they might stop charging for potential no-shows!

Staff were lovely and engaging, chef popped his head out to give some info about the food, great to see the passion from him. We went on an quiet midweek evening with no reservation. I had mallard with carrots, pickled ginger and an asian tasting sauce and my husband had something called skrei cod with potted shrimp butter. When an amuse bouche arrived we panicked a little as we then expected poncy tiny portions but we were wrong. A generous breast of duck and a thick piece of fish arrived, both beautifully cooked. Once eating we realised we regretted not trying the starters, the waitress had recommended the artichoke and mushroom toast, but by the end we had probably eaten enough to not have a starter.we shared an apple crumble which was daintily presented with really good (homemade?) ice cream. Recommended drinks for each dish is a nice touch and wines were excellent and the whole meal with a glass each was under 50 quid, a steal for this quality of food, a quality we really didn't expect, the pub is unpretentious and the staff very friendly. The welcome was warm, and the service (particularly as the restaurant was busy apart from us) was efficient and friendly. The food was complimented all round - the starter and main for £16 was great value. (I should say we didn't try the desserts). When the management realised it was a birthday celebration they brought us all a glass of fizz on the house, which was a really nice touch, as was the small cup of carrot and orange soup "amuse bouche" to start. I really hope this place has the success it deserves and will definitely come again.

I reckon I had the best Sunday roast ever yesterday at The Robin Hood. We were a table of 10. I had Roast Beef (which I don’t tend to order when out as it usually disappoints), but the Chef told us that the beef was a good choice, so I tried it, as did 8 of us! Fantastic! And it came with ooodles of “proper gravy” and extra Yorkshire’s! Not great for my so-called diet, but it was all incredibly tasty. One small negative is that one of my friends ordered the lasagne and it was a tiny portion. Not sure if she accidentally ordered a “Kids” size, but it was tiny. She should have chosen the roast! Another friend ordered the sausage and mash but swapped the mash for chips, which were amazing! We’ll be coming back again

Right... so this is a village pub... often frequented by people on country walks from Olney and the surrounding area. So who on earth thought it a good idea to lay a nice carpet in the main bar? Cue signs warning to clean feet of dogs and remove dirty boots! Trouble is that you then need to walk through the bar to get to the toilet... with no shoes on! We were a group of six, enjoying a cross country walk from Turvey (Three Cranes) to Newton Blossomville (Old Mill) and then on to Olney (The Bull). We were the only customers at the Robin Hood. Really disappointing then that although the young girl behind the bar was friendly, the older members of staff (apparently preparing for a party) made us feel very unwelcome! We have enjoyed numerous visits to this pub in the past, but won’t be rushing back!

5 of us met up at the Robin Hood for Sunday lunch and sat in the garden studying the menu. A chap came over and said if you don’t have the roast beef you would regret it. It was when we found out he was the chef we took his advise and did not regret it. It was the most beautifully cooked and tender beef we have had for a long time. Will definitely be going back there soon.

Family gathering for Sunday lunch. Exceptional food and very friendly service. Complimentary mini sweetcorn soup was a surprise gesture ..Typical country pub with a separate menu for garden snacks.

A hidden gem. Great for vegetarians. Been here twice, both with family & friends. They were suitably impressed. Food always fresh & locally sourced. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful, old village pub - with a menu to inspire as well. Whether, you're sitting in the "smallish" dining area or opting to sit out back, you'll end up, eating more or plan your next visit. Stopping by at night, you may encounter the locals - this pub was saved by a group of Clifton Reynes' residents, so all their natter eventually shows that pride in doing so. A delightful place in all.

Our first since Jon & Sophie took over the kitchen. We weren't disappointed. Lovely welcoming bar staff, great eating area in the conservatory. We knew the food would be excellent having eaten at The Bell & Bear for nearly 10 years. So good to see familiar dishes on the menu plus a few new ones. A very good mix of traditional bar food and a la catre menu.

Four of us visited for an evening meal to celebrate our friends special birthday. We arrived early to decorate the table and the manager and staff could not have been more accommodating, moving tables around to suit our plans and ensuring everything was ready for us at 8pm.

First visit to the Robin Hood, a community owned pub in Clifton Reynes. Really delicious pub food with a few more exotic choices on the menu as well, the squid and fig & bue cheese salad were great. They have a beer garden that would be fantastic on a sunny day.

Wonderful food, possibly the best lamb cutlets i've eaten. Friendly service in a really homely pub. Well done all. Just wish the donkeys were still outside!

Dropped in for a lunchtime drink mid week, and followed this up later with Sunday lunch. Friendly pub, welcoming locals with a nice atmosphere and decent beer. Sunday lunch was pretty much identical to the excellent offering at the nearby Bell & Bear (well it was cooked and served by some of the same team)! Midweek food looks simpler, but worth sampling. We’ll certainly be back.

Visited here to see how the change to ‘community ownership’ has affected what was a great pub. First impression was how bright, clean and smart the place had become. A real local if ever there was one.

We returned to The Robin Hood today having not been for many years. We were enticed back knowing that Jon from The Bell and Bear in Emberton had taken over the reins of the food at this now community owned pub. Our lunch did not disappoint. The roast beef was melt in the mouth, tender and tasty. The roasties were perfect and the veg and gravy were too. Starters and desserts were all very good. The Australian merlot I drank was smooth and perfect with the beef. It was their first Sunday lunch service since taking over and everyone we saw eating looked as content as we were with the food. The two young ladies looking after everyone front of house were very friendly and efficient. Talking to Jon there are lots of things that need to be done to get the pub right but it is a traditional old pub with character and the food alone makes this pub worth a visit. I’m sure that it will become as successful as the Bell and Bear and deservedly so. Good luck to The Robin Hood and many more good meals to come given today’s menu.

This photo needs updating as there is no donkeys now. I called in today and was enthusiastically updated on the history of the pub which is now owned and managed by a group of investors from the village. ..and doing very well plenty of activities including Sunday lunches and pop up kitchens offering different cuisine ..tonight was fine dining and next week there is an Italian Evening. We will be back soon..thank you for making us feel so welcomed today.

We were looking for a new local pub for a Sunday lunch, and The Robin Hood came up on an internet search. Having never visited Clifton Regis before it was nice to see it could be reached via country footpaths from Olney. After a brief march through the countryside the pub was a delight to see. Just what you’d like a village pub to be. Two bars, one for drinking and one for eating. Plus a conservatory dining area and a delightful garden. We were made to feel very welcome, and the family vibe shone through. On a Sunday they lay on a carvery. Our table was reserved, with our name on the tag for the personal touch. The food was excellent, and the friendly conversation showed how much pride and passion went into running the pub. I learned all about the beer festival the following weekend. We loved our visit. Not just for the food, but the English Village ambience that is so often lost in pubs these days. We’ll definitely be back, and would highly recommend to anyone also looking for a hidden gem :)

What a cracking welcome and atmosphere. Barbara and Ian can't do enough from the minute you walk through the door. As a first time visitor I felt like part of the family. Popped in for one drink and ended up playing skittles and sampling a few beers. Cask ale was in great condition a must for anyone wanting a real pub welcome.
