The Roadside Chippy in Down

Great food freshly made chicken fillets which are actual fillets not some processed meat, chips which are crispy but not burned, really recommend as I'm really picky on food with my kids

Ultra small miserable portions, Chip and curry served in a burger box, portion of goujons consisted of 4 chicken nuggets. Forgot part of the order. Honestly this place is terrible. Worst chippy in Co. Down.

The best chippy in the world Edit 22.10.2023- I still agree with what I said 3 years ago. Gravy Chips top tier, chicken goujons also top tier. Best chippy I will ever have. Wish yous were open daily. Love you lady's.

Great chips and good variety on menu for adults or kids to include chicken kebabs burgers, fish and pasties.

Omg the food here is top I would recommend anybody to use this chip shop more than using anywhere else like the can in dundrum which is never cleaned

Kerry's mum is the best very good food and I would call again kind lady very good food the chefs r good at what they do

if you,ve money and are hungry they,ll take the monies no problem but you,ll not get all your food ever. especially if they think your not local.Check your order when collecting if you,ve rang ahead . i,m personally of the belief that if ringing and not sounding local,you,ll be short changed of food so as you,d be to far away to come back to collect it.This chippy (or the staff)will try to short vchange you on your food then tell you to come back to collect it.The owner said and what do you want me to do about it when i rang him. Laughable he should have offered delivery to me at that point as i,d stuck to my phone in agreement and went collected it and paid for full order.Though on returning back to house to family gathering we found not 1 item missing this time(its usually a small thing so we.ll let it go.) but 2 dinners. so we divvied out between us all and got on with it. customer care of these people is non existent. Money in the till who cares. Not recommended and if you do be careful to check order and change before leaving. Some people in these times are jumpimh on the greed wagon. ! star is not what i want to give in this case.

This is a really great place for a chippy takeaway. The burgers are my highlight. Quick efficient service with a smile. Wide choice on menu.

Had fish n chips, wow they were fantastic. Others in our group had chicken specials and burgers. Great value for money and very tasty.

Good fish and chips are hard to find but this wee place serves them up just right time after time... Turn up and order (then wait in your car til your number is called out) or call, order and then go pick it up. The menu is on the facebook page. If you're in Newcastle I'd recommend you try the fish supper for yourselves...
