I hadn't been in Oakley for a few years and realised they had moved premises. Clean and friendly place. Toilet facilities available. Wheelchair friendly. Good food, especially the pancakes and bacon 😋 recommend for breakfast 👍

Disappointed Went in for breakfast. Got two morne fries and asks for sausage and toast for my 3 year old. Got 2 lattes Cost £36. We were charged £5.95 for one slice of white bread toasted and cut into triangles and one sausage which I thought was a rip off.

All round a fabulous place. We had it all there. From mornings just for fresh scone and excellent coffee, a treat trip with young ones for a great selection of traybakes and other sweets. Midweek lunch dates with their specials menu that include excellent salads or hearty stews/soups and sandwiches. We love coming and so will you. Service is always excellent and so is the buzzing atmosphere.

I called in for food with my partner we both got a mini fry ,we waited about 45 minutes for it to arrive and the coffee was cold as we waited that long ,Also there was a horrible pungent smell where we sat the smell was so bad I had to change when I got home and so did my girl. I'm sorry but I will never return to this place

I have been to Oakley fayre over a dozen times and it never fails. Firstly their breakfast is always amazing from Fry's to fancy french toast. Their lunch specials are really tasty as well and always top quality. You can also stop in and get a quick traybake, ice cream or coffee. They have the best selection of traybacks and bites to eat in Downpatrick. To top it all off the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Overall one of the best and most recommended places in Downpatrick.

I am humbled by how friendly the staff are. I visit with my father on a near weekly basis and the staff are the reason we always come back. My father suffers from a motor neurone condition and has anxiety about going out. However, he always wants to go to the Oakley Fayre. There are good vegan options which I am so pleased by. I visited a year or more ago and they didn't have vegan options but now they do! And they're delicious (the veggie rolls in particular). I'm shocked that there are sub par reviews on here. We are consistently greeted with excellent, caring customer service.

Had coffee and cake which was great. The cafe has not changed in 10 years at least, needs overhauling. The so called music is dated boring and of ridiculously poor quality. Sitting near the door which groaned beyond belief each time it was opened. Next door sells WD40 you should buy some. They have a window sign Make it Local. I suggest you make it better. Of all the staff on duty none smiled even when I was most polite and smiling at them. The looked seriously bored with their job. Went to pay at the counter where the server made me feel invisible by staring in the till whilst I was paying never lifting her head or looking anywhere near me. Oakley Fayre you are not alone as many Downpatrick offer a similar second rate experience. Have you ever considered customer care training?. Surprise surprise nothing has changed for the better since I last visited on 2009. Any possibility you will take on board customer reviews even if you don’t like them.

This place is ok, I live in downpatrick, so have went a few times and everytime there has been something, never great service or order correct or over charged, specials are usually good, choice of soups are good, but at the till it seems not so special, I've had to return food, ask for assistance either to place order or return the order and question the bill, £4.50 for a 2 filling sandwich, when it cost only £5.95 for soup and a snadwich, seems random prices, never spent under 10 quid on any time ive been even coffee and bun!! I'm not recommending as I won't be back, get nicer cheaper and prices don't jump, very overpriced for a small deli cafe, esp when food isn't out of this world!!

My sisters and I had lunch in this busy little cafe/restaurant. Quite a good range of food. Two of us had a sandwich with salad. Salad much too large for a light lunch but sandwiches tasty. My other sister had chicken goujons and chips which were a bit overdone. My main complaint was the service which is a bit brisk. They did not deal well with the complaint and this would put me off returning.

Attracted to the Oakley Fayre by the flash back I got when I spotted it and remembered when I scraped the money together for a toasted sandwich on my lunch break from the local college many years ago. Now a little more affluent and in need of refreshment before I tackled my mothers shopping I ventured in. The cake counter was a sight to behold and I wanted one of everything. Looking at the menu I decided afternoon tea for one would meet all my needs for sustinence and carby treats. Seated and served promptly by a pleasant young girl I was soon looking at a pot of tea, a round of delicious goats cheese and roasted pepper sandwiches scone and cream plus two pretty cakes. All for the grand price of £7.25. Where I live you pay nearly £4 for a cappuccino. I shouldn’t have but I did almost finish it all off and delicious it was as well. Highly recommend and if your taste is leaning towards more savoury food there is a good selection of light lunches etc on the menu as well.

You can tell a good eatery by how busy it is and if you’re looking for a table for lunch in Oakley Fayre you would be wise to get there early. You will find friendly and efficient staff, many of whom have been here a long time, which is also a good sign. You will get a wide choice of tasty stuff and some daily specials. Last time my pal had crispy chicken gougons with salad and a basket of excellent chips which she greatly enjoyed and I had the bargain of any winter day - a big bowl of Oakley’s Irish stew. True comfort food with plenty of meat and tasty veg. They make great coffee too! As a diabetic I can’t comment on their sweet offerings but my 5 year old granddaughter rates them tops. It’s all great value for money too, probably because of the high turnover of customers they enjoy. So, why only 4 stars? Because it’s crowded, and the tables are so close together it’s hard to have a private conversation - in fact, you quite often find neighbours joining in, especially if you’re a local and a familiar face. Can be fun.

I went to this establishment for breakfast. The breakfast menu is extensive and caters for all diets. I ordered Eggs Benedict with bacon on Sour Bread. When it arrived it looked delicious . It was only when I was half way through eating the egg that I came across a large black curly hair in the middle of the dish. I was discreet about alerting the waitress so that other diners would not be put off. The waitress apologised and asked if I wanted another dish I refused. My problem comes when my mum went to pay for her porridge and 2 teas , the proprietor advised her that he didn’t know where the hair had come from and quite frankly was very dismissive of all concern. I certainly will not be back and that is based on the attitude not on the food. Perhaps he could take a leaf from his waitresses book.

Oakley Fayre is a great spot to visit and definitely the best eatery in Downpatrick. The staff are pleasant and the food can be really nice, especially their vegetable soup. Tables at the front of the cafe aren't the best seats with the draft from the door and the busy crowd hanging over you, so i'd recommend the tables at the back. My mother and father went to the Oakley Faire on 27 August 2016 for breakfast / brunch. My mum asked for a poached egg and was informed that they could not do this and no reason was provided. I cannot believe this to be true, other than that they could not be bothered to go out of their way for a customer. Where is the customer care and satisfaction? It seems to me that they are set in their ways and do not want to adapt to changing healthy eating habits. Cafe Creme in Newcastle Co Down can accommodate this request without hesitation. Avoid this place unless you are seeking a light refreshment.

Really good for a wedding venue and kept very clean. My sister had an amazing wedding there.

Trust me and get the All Day Fry! Absolutely fantastic. The staff are boss too. I fully recommend it and I’ll definitely be going back.

Very therapeutic view of the Mournes from the room, and this hotel was very popular with the locals. Had some food: • Armagh bacon w/ egg mayo, garden salad • Roast Lamb leg w/ gravy, mint sauce, fried and boiled potatoes, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, carrots • Panna cotta w/ mixed berries (blackberries, raspberries), mint • Toast with orange marmalade, scrambled eggs, fruits

Popped in for a pint and a light bite. The Guinness was excellent. We had cod goujon chibatta and spicy chicken wings. Both cooked fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. Will be back in the future for a slap up meal. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Recommend highly
