The Riverside Takeaway in Cheshire West and Chester

Great place and setting, got a cup of tea free of charge from the owner when delivering goods, much appreciated!

Well presented ‘hot dog’!!!!!! NOT! Avoid!!

Can never fault this place on anything. Cheerful staff and owners, great atmosphere, jokey banter. Food is of a takeaway nature, chips, burgers, etc. At the other end is a Cheshire Farm ice cream part. Big hit with any kids on a day out. Various teas and coffees, soft drinks too. Something for everyone. Comes with fantastic views of the River Dee too.

Awful place don’t buy the food here. Food was much better in the summer. Lady was very rude and atmosphere looks depressing.

The ice-cream is divine. We tried the coffee bean one and the stem ginger, both were creamy and delicious. £2.95 for a single scoop in a cone, and a great selection of flavours. Efficient service and lovely location next to the river Dee and bandstand.

I've been coming here for many years. I've always found the staff to be polite and helpful. The owners are two lovely people. The food is reasonably priced, and is delicious snack type food. Adjoining the takeaway cafe is the very tasty Cheshire Farm ice cream section. Always a big attraction for any children, enjoying a day out with parents. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would.

Staff were lovely and the food was top notch. whoever the chef has good skills. Ive never had better food in my life! it conveniently placed near the river and is a great place to pop into for lunch. Especially with the river next to it for you to enjoy the Chester scenery. Very Impressed!

Could barely eat my food for the truckload of salt they put on it . Granted I asked for salt but I didn't mean the entire tub. I could practically feel my arteries clogging up

Staff so rude today. Will never buy anything again. One young lady was lovely but an older lady with grey hair was so so rude. Had to stop my husband going and speaking to her. Customer service goes a long way

When you are walking round Chester's city walls, the Riverside Takeaway on The Groves is a good place to drop into for a snack. There's a good choice of snacks and baps and drinks served by friendly, helpful staff. Covid measures are taken, with masks being worn and drinks served from a separate window. Although, as the name suggests, there is no seating, there are benches along the banks of the River Dee, especially near Chester's Bandstand, where you can sit and enjoy your snack

We visit here each time we go to Chester after our walk along the walls. We mostly have coffee's and then ice creams but we have had chips etc in the past. We have always found the staff we have dealt with both pleasant and friendly and its in a great location for sitting by the Dee. No matter how long between our visits are, as we don't live in Chester, the staff always remember us.

Staff and owner rude and ignorant. Horrible food.

Bland, cold, greasy bacon bap served by the most disinterested staff I’ve over seen. Washed down with really awful coffee and a hefty bill. Walk 100m down The Groves to The Moorings if you’re in the area and need something to eat or drink!

AVOID AVOID AVOID I'm not one to leave bad reviews but please avoid staff vile and owner hasn't returned a reply to my complaints. I've been ill from the food I purchased last week. Have contacted the authoritys the food was clearly undercooked and out of date luckily my kids had a mc Donald's earlier so wasn't ill like I was.

My wife has been extremely ill after being served undercooked food from this vendor. Owner hasn't apoligised or replied to the complaint we made. Not only is there food overpriced the staff and owner are extremely rude and serve low grade junk cuts of meat processed rubbish. They sell cheap ice cream labeled up wrong I no this as seen there delivery total con artists

Burger cold inside took it back and they wouldn't replace it or change it good job my kids didn't eat theres as they were also red inside
