Was here at a funeral, staff and management fantastic, food fresh ( Italian ), clean and pleasant. Would recommend in z heart beat.

We haven't been here for many years and made a non scheduled stop on the way home. I am so glad we did. We goto sit in our favourite part (the snug) and instead of a quick drink, we ended up eating too. The staff were fantastic (especially Joya) and we didn't feel pressured or rushed. The food was freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Highly recommended. We shall be returning

What an incredible gem of a restaurant! One of the best people to coordinate parties is Pal - if you ever do a party at The Rising Sun, Pal is just an amazing person. Nothing was ever too much, the service was spectacular and the food is just off the charts! Highly recommend.

We had our company Christmas party at the Rising Sun and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience! From start to finish, everything was tip-top. The food was beyond delicious—each dish left us in awe. For starters, the wild mushroom arancini and pizzetas Amore Mio were bursting with flavor and set the tone for an incredible meal. The mains were outstanding—the seabass was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and the fillet steak salad was equally fantastic, fresh, and packed with taste. And the desserts? Simply divine. The tiramisu was perfect, as were all the other sweet treats we tried. On top of the incredible food, the service was impeccable. The staff were beautifully friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect. They truly added to the festive atmosphere. Overall, I’m absolutely amazed by the quality of the food, the warmth of the service, and the overall experience. I highly recommend the Rising Sun—it’s a gem!"

We went for dinner without reservation on Saturday after we had terrible experience from another pub. I thought we have to wait, but they accommodated us quickly and the outside table was very warm and comfortable and pretty 😍 All staff are kind and friendly. The tiramisu we had was probably the best I've ever had!! Thank you so much for making our day 🥰

highly, highly recommend as a food allergy sufferer! i’m severely allergic to nuts and shellfish, and had ordered the duck croquettes, turkey and brownie from the christmas party set menu. the staff was highly trained and professional and ensured that my food prepared separately and avoided cross contamination. i got to speak with the owner before eating and she made me feel comfortable and reassured that my food is safe for me. the food was delicious! i also loved that the 9 of us got a table in a separate room! will definitely come back again! 🎄💚❤️

It s an Italian British fusion pub restaurant. The food was very delicious and well presented. Abby served us and she has looked after us really well. It was a pleasant time spent in the place.

We heard good things about this place so have wanted to try it for a while. We booked as a large group and the service was excellent. Food choices and freshness were on point for all the kids and adults. The beef salad was my personal favourite but every dish was well received. The Rising Sun menu is mainly very good Italian but they have some really nice pan Asian options which for me were equally so tasty!. Try the Asian beef salad. So so good! Can't wait to go back and try a Sunday lunch soon.

I booked this place for my partner’s birthday lunch. On entering, the waiter took us to the back and told us we could sit anywhere on a 2 seater table. We asked if we could sit on a 4 seater table in the corner and he said it was fine. Another waiter came over and told us we had to move. I queried this and he said the other waiter doesn’t cover this section and is unaware. We walked to the next available 2 seater table and told again we weren’t allowed to sit there, which was absolutely ridiculous. Once seated, the waiter came over to take orders, however, we weren’t quite ready so I kindly requested to come back after a few minutes. No one came to take our orders for around 15 minutes. They weren’t even super busy. Clearly, not very attentive. I asked for a drink with no ice and lemon and they bring my drink with ice and lemon. The food arrived, which was actually really tasty so definitely a 10/10 for that. I told one of the waiters that it was my partner’s birthday today and if they could arrange something for him. They said they can place a candle on a cake that we order! I thought they would have offered a gesture of goodwill by giving a small slice of dessert complimentary. The waiter said he will pass the message to the lady that was serving us. The cake came and no candle. I was absolutely fuming! A simple request did not get fulfilled. I just wanted to pay and leave as soon as possible. After reading the reviews previously about the staff not being attentive or not being present, I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. The staff are letting down the experience a customer should have.

Amazing service. We hosted a party for christening and everything about this day was amazing. The staff the food the atmosphere was just great, every one had such a great time. Big thank you to the staff that served us that day Abby and Claire I think were the name, they were both amazing and took such good care of us, they deserve such praises for such a service. The Rising Sun is a pub I've driven past for over 30 years, and I've never been in. I'd heard good things about the food from friends and decided to try it out for a birthday mean with family. To give the quick summary, the food was really good, starters were fresh, came out quickly and were really delicious. The pizza was one of the best pizzas I've eaten for a long time, and I make my own at home and those that didn't have pizza were happy with their pasta and tuna dishes. Dessert, too, couldn't be faulted. That said, the prices were very much on the higher side for a 3 course meal. My daughter had a pasta dish, with a lobster bisque that was £24 and it had a small number of prawns. This felt a little overpriced. Similarly, the fried tofu on salad at £17.50 was a bit on the steeper end. Pizzas are relatively fairly priced. However, there are several starters on the menu that are £10-15 each and the pasta dishes at £18-24 which seems a bit of a liberty. Just to reiterate, I could not fault the food or service, but I am just unsure about the value for money. Perhaps my party could make different choices and I'd feel differently.

Absolutely impeccable service, brilliant food and wonderful staff! Went for my daughter's birthday for a Sunday roast, adults had a delicious roast and kids had fresh pizza and tasty spaghetti! I cannot recommend highly enough and will defp be frequently visiting! Nothing was too much for the staff, they were extremely accommodating and every single dish ordered was high quality and extremely tasty. Thank you!

Our waitress didn't know how to use a corkscrew,her first day.The meal was very nice,the service wasn't bad until after we'd had our mains then the staff disappeared, nobody collected plates, even when they eventually were the waiter didn't ask if we wanted desserts or coffee. Had to find a server to ask for the bill which had a 15% service charge,absolutely not acceptable so it was reduced.

Wonderful pub with an Italian Restaurant inside. Everything was cooked and presented well. The truffle pasta, whipped ricotta, margherita pizza and pistachio cheesecake were the stand out dishes. Choosing the room when booking is a little confusing but I took a lucky dip and we sat in the room dressed with decorative lemons so that worked out.

We randomly found this little restaurant and I must say it was a very pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, proper home made! The service was really good and all the staff very polite and friendly. Highly recommend it 👌

Lovely food, fantastic service.

It is a really nice little italian restaurant, has his own parking lot with plenty of space, service was fast, and the food was just amazing. They have a children menu as well with 3 options. There is a nice little terrace, ideal when nice weather.

Food was nice, but let down by the service. Had to get up twice - once to ask for napkins, and secondly to find the whereabouts of our drinks. The waiters were not attentive, hardly coming outside to see to our needs. Had to wave to get their attention/ask for the bill. Wouldn't mind if it was busy, but even to their admission it wasn't a busy day at all for them.

I called in advance to explain my gf and dairy intolerances. I was assured that the chef could adapt nearly every item to suit me. When we arrived we were put into a room which we hadn't asked for ie the mirror room then the waitress who was very helpful told us the meat couldn't be adapted as its cooked in butter. So I ended up hungry having to eat something I didn't want which was a small piece of fish which was grossly overpriced. Never again!!

Went on one of the hottest days of the year for an impromptu date night. Called last minute and made a reservation. When we arrived, we were shown to the lawn area which will a nice surprise to dine alfresco on one of the hottest days. The service was great, the food was excellent, the steak was the best steak I've had in about a year! Very impressed and highly recommend to anyone thinking about dining here.

Some great dishes , good food and atmosphere

Very tasty arancini and steak was decent. Truffle chips were very heavy on the truffle, unpleasantly so. Pistachio cheesecake is really good, one of the best cheesecakes I’ve tried. Service from Yusuf was great and extremely friendly, he is an asset to your team. Btw it’s £39 for ribeye and fries which is steep even for an upscale joint.

It's just too damned packed. That "marquee" is a bad joke. Sardine city.

My favourite restaurant, can feel slightly cramped when busy, but during the summer is great sitting outside. Food drink and service 10/10

Yousef served us, he was an absolute pleasure and a great waiter! Really happy with the meal, the best food I’ve had in a while.

We were served by Yusef and he made the experience really welcoming and lovely, making sure he’s doing a top job. Hope he serves us again. And the food was delicious per usual. Great evening celebrating my brothers birthday :)

We visited for an ad-hoc mid-week meal and the service was pleasant enough and the atmosphere buzzing, but while the tuna to start was excellent, we both ordered homemade pizzas and they were both 'floppy', undercooked and pretty much tasteless, resulting in us leaving them almost untouched. When I mentioned this to our waiter, he said, "Sorry, I'll pass your comments onto the kitchen", but there was no mention of it afterwards, the matter wasn't addressed and there was no allowance for two wasted meals on the bill, in fact, it was really quite obvious that they didn't give a damn and for this reason, we'll not be returning. It's not a cheap restaurant at all and to be honest, I expected far better, but this sums up hospitality these days in a lot of places, (not everywhere), as they're so busy trying to pay their bills and cut costs, service levels have become diluted, a great shame.

Compact restaurant pub with lots of character and low ceilings. Italian inspired food, tasty and well cooked. Also have roasts on Sunday, the lamb was plentiful and tasty albeit quite pricey, but quality was worth it. A few steps around the place so tread with care. We were in the snug, which is good for a small private group.

Outstanding Italian restaurant set in a pub in Mill Hill. It may seem pricey but you get exactly what you pay for. Ideal for a special treat. The service is outstanding but the food is even better!

The staff were loverly and although there was a mix up with my order after some discussion things were sorted amicably. The food was very tasty but expensive I feel for the setting.

Sunday Roast was exquisite!! We had the lamb and nut roast, cooked perfectly, great potatoes and a decent portion size. Very impressed, A+.

How have I not heard about the word ‘assaggi’ until now!? I’m still sure if it’s the same as primi, or primo, but it comes before the secondi. And there was no primo on the menu. If I’m hitting secondi, then I’m for sure hitting primi first. And a primi is only a primi if followed by a secondi. But does an assaggi slot in between them? Or is it a cheeky assaggi before your primi?? Like a primi to your primi 🤯 Either way, I’m going assaggi the hell out of some primi before I assaggi me some secondi. And that means a return to the rising sun heyoooooo. Deep fried pasta triangles of assaggi goodness… stop it! 🤤🤤🤤

Me and my partner have visited The Rising Sun on many occasions and we have always had a 10/10 experience. The owners and staff are always very welcoming and friendly and the food never disappoints. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.

Firstly, the food here is delicious! Very good value set lunch menu (2 courses for £22.50 or 3 for £27.50) with a nice variety of dishes. The papardelle ragu was excellent, as was the chicken milanese and the accompanying spaghetti pomodoro. The apple crumble was really really good. The only marks lost on food are for the pork belly bites - far too sweet a sauce and far too much of the sauce. Nice wines and several at surprisingly good prices. The atmosphere was very good too. Service wasn't bad, just a bit amateurish, but nobody was over the age of 19 (at a guess), which might explain that. I imagine evenings are staffed more fully.

Very good meal, we had the arancini, beef carpaccio with truffle, ravioli with truffle, butter and sage, and strips of fillet steak coated with Asian dressing and toasted sesame seeds. Everything was tasty and up to par. The beef carpaccio was exceptional. The fillet steak's Asian dressing was too overpowering and would suggest a more delicate amount of dressing in order to appreciate the flavours the steak and fresh salad had to offer. We finished off by sharing a chocolate brownie with ice cream. £6 for a bottle of water is steep, even for the area. Service was excellent. Interior part of the restaurant is very beautiful and elegant however there was a private party so we sat in the gazebo area. Overall, very genuine flavours and will be back!!

Very rude front of house. We have requested a table inside over a week ago, while we arrived, they arranged us to sit in a garden tent, with a big birthday party table next to us. It was so loud that we couldn’t talk to each other. Very bad experience.

We had a lovely lunch today. We had 2 sunday roasts (1 beef and 1 lamb) and also pasta and risotto dishes, all were delicious. The staff were attentive and the dining rooms are really pretty, we were in the garden room which was lovely.

Lovely family run restaurant with amazing food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff were super friendly and the owner, Matty, made us feel like we had come to dine in his home. Highly recommend it and I’ll definitely be going back!

I was told about The Rising Sun by my neighbour, we had always seen it but never thought to pop in. Today we bit the bullet and thought "why not?!" and we are SO glad we did. I had the house bread and garlic green beans (out of this world flavour!) My husband had a pasta dish which he said was 10/10! Staff are really attentive but not too overbearing and I really really cannot wait to be back! I'll get the tiramisu next time!

Sunday lunch today was fantastic. The beef was cooked to perfection (medium) with a great Yorkshire and really delicious gravy (we asked for more which was accommodated). Desserts, as you would expect from an Italian restaurant, are prepared onsite too and while my tiramisu was great the pistachio cheesecake was just perfection on a dessert plate. After tasting it my food envy levels went through the roof. Great staff and relaxed dining room made it perfect.

Incredible food and service. Would highly recommend anytime throughout the week, though the Sunday roast is excellent!

We went here last Saturday night. We unfortunately had a waitress who was rude and actually pretty useless. We ordered a £52 bottle of wine, which was poured straight into our glasses without any sampling to see if corked. We let that go. After the meal we ordered hot drinks, when served we were informed the table was now needed. We complained to the manager. Apologies were made and we were moved to the marquee. It’s a shame as the food was good. I’m afraid apologies in this case was just not good enough

This place could be amazing but it’s less than average. The food is good - can recommend the beef carpaccio, it’s so tasty - the service while the staff is very kind and polite, it is not always top notch. If you book when bad weather, ensure you ask to seat in the main dining floor cause you might end up forgotten in the outdoor (covered) area. Very overpriced for the location and the quality.

The food was good but not the best pizza and pasta I had in London and the prices are too high for what the place offered. As a plus, They have private parking.

Always a good meal here. Beautiful flavours, well presented. Attentive and friendly staff. Sat outdoors which was initially quite noisy with some children running around but within 15minutes they had left. Blankets were brought out when the temperature dropped. Drinks and food alike were great.

Pasta was wonderful. Service was lovely. The pork ribs was also quite delicious and tender.
