A once great and go to restaurant - never seen a restaurant slide down hill so fast. Prices up Portions down Menu reduced The once fabulous staff all been replaced with the kind of servers whose thumbs go into the food when serving. A customer for over 30 years - no longer...

Just awful. Oily and salty to the point their food was inedible. Ordered the Minestrone soup, garlic pizza bread and bruschetta. ALL the food was so salty I could not eat it. The bruschetta bread was soaked in oil.

The servers are welcoming and the restaurant has a nice busy feeling, but the food isn't worth turning up for. We had a cold and mushy calamari starter, then a carbonara and the "L'Artista Ravioli". The carbonara was probably the worst I've had, and the ravioli was tasteless - I'd also put money on the sauce being Heinz Tomato Soup. In fairness, the pizzas going out did look good, but we didn't have one so can't really comment. Basically, I won't be going back and I'd suggest going somewhere else.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I'd give it 7 if possible as this is our "lucky" place. It has a wholesome vibe, the food is incredible, and the staff are as pleasant and delightful as can be. I have sampled dishes from every corner of the menu and my favourites are their mushroom & sausage pizza and their fusili pastas. Their house red wine is quite tasty, too. It is also much larger than it appears, so it is perfect for birthdays or large gatherings. The staff are incredible with children, too, so if you have kids or a big family you need not look any further for your next big dinner our or birthday party. Seriously, cannot emphasize enough how much I love this place and how much of a family gathering they make our dinners seem.

2a visita con la familia. Es un poco hit & miss. Estaba muy ocupado, pero el personal y la cocina no podía hacer frente a esto. Marido recibió su arranque pero esperamos 25 minutos más para recibir el nuestro. Igual que con los platos principales, ninguno de nosotros tenía nuestra comida llegando a la mesa aproximadamente al mismo tiempo con largos huecos. Había un pequeño grupo de 6 chicos jóvenes yo diría que de 12 a 13 años que eran extremadamente ruidosos y seguían levantándose y corriendo y eran ruidosos. Padres en otra mesa no interesados en supervisarlos. La comida era deliciosa y porciones enormes.

My fave local Italian. Been here many times and food and service is always topnotch. Friendly staff and affordable prices. Highly recommend.

Got recommended this place by a friend and just want to say how impressed I was. The atmosphere is super cosy and the staff (Mr Aziz served us and he was super professional and welcoming!) are wonderful. I’m definitely going again for the food, the portions are large and delicious!! All super fulfilling. Thanks to the team!

Rating: ★★★☆☆ I received average service at the restaurant. One of the main issues was the lack of clear communication among the staff, which led to confusion with our bill. We had difficulties settling the amounts, as there often appeared to be extra charges on the bill, even though we hadn't consumed those items. This made the experience somewhat frustrating. I hope they improve these aspects to provide a more efficient and transparent service.

Excellently priced menu and very fresh and tasty food but they made two mistakes and although service was added, at the bill time we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip. So a flawed restaurant that we want to revisit. An odd one. The boss needs to keep an eye on the staff.

Excellent all round. I docked one star for service because our main course took quite a while but generally excellent and pretty good value.

The place is very cozy, stuff friendly, but when it comes to food it was not what I expected. I ordered spaghetti with pesto, chicken and cherry tomatoes and it was just bland, waiter putted on my meal fresh cheese, plus for that, and the portion was very big, but pasta with pesto I’m making at home (I’m really bad at cooking) is way more better (2/5, don’t recommend this dish). On the other hand, my boyfriend ordered lasagna and rated it 4/5 and told that it was good so it depends on the meal I guess.

Passed this restaurant dozens of times but the first time I have dined there. Surprisingly good! I had veal with a lemon sauce only thing wrong was perhaps too much sauce on the plate. Service really good and definitely will be back.

The food is really good and good price however the environment is too noisy. They put music too loud, we couldn’t have a proper conversation or even listen to the waitress.

Food is amazing. Proper Italian food. But I’m taking away one star due to the noise. Not from other people eating. But from the music. It’s too loud. At one point it was playing reggaeton (???) I couldn’t even hear my partner sitting across the table from me.

This what I been served with 2 big holes on the pizza and while I asked the staff he was like just sorry and walked off. My wife pregnant we came to spend time with our family and there was hair in the pasta. Member of staff showed attitude while I was explaining him. I am disappointed as I usually come here with my wife. I am sure this is the last time I am coming here and I will recommend Watford branch where I used to go. If managers need to see which table this happen I was at the last table near the bar. Hopefully you guys can improve these kind of things as we pay for food not for holes.

To flee⚠️ I came to share a good time with my family, but I was very disappointed with the service and also with the cleanliness of the restaurant. There were pieces of glass on the floor and dangerous for children I really don't recommend this place.

This is what my brother was served. We thought L’artista was a restaurant not a sculpture museum.

Good food, but crowded most of the time. If you are unlucky enough to find a birthday party you can see the staff acting like apes, banging in pots and pans, thinking that is what a restaurant should do. I mentioned to the supervisor or whatever is that one there that the waiter can't hold a plate properly without sticking his fingers in the food and been told to go and bring him a better one. So if you want good service bring your own waiter as well.

A go place which is open till 2am some days. Tons of seating and own parking next door. Staff is not only authentic but very friendly. Tons of options and ideal for a big crowd celebration as there's plenty of room

Seems like there has been a massive staffing issue recently. A lot of new staff members and a lot of room for improvement.

Great place with an even greater food. Very welcoming stuff specially Mr Soren who is perhaps the best waiter that any restaurant wishes to have. Very professional, polite with great attitude towards customers working as if this place is his own business. Thanks for the service

Have been here a number of times,but not up to usual standard. Spinach side order arrived on a cold plate! Affogato was either made with cold coffee or was not brought to our table as soon as it was made,as coffee was as cold as icecream. Although staff were helpful,they were not as cheerful as previous ones that the restaurant has had.

Good spot for good yet affordable food. The staff are very friendly. However the pizza menu states “traditional pizza” and lists “Hawaiian pizza”, not sure Italians will agree with that LOL

Fantastic pizza, however don't get served by this ignorant rather large waiter( see picture) He will treat you with contempt. The rest of staff are great . Pity

A restaurant with very pleasant prices for the quality of the food. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, the food is simply wonderful with a taste of home, and the service is fantastic, everyone there is very pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend The menu is huge and all the choices are great.

I honestly don’t understand how this restaurant is operating at the moment. First of all be prepared that your hair, clothes and everything smell of garlic, sea food or pizza depending on what they’re cooking. Second of all the quality of the food is so poor, that the prices doesn’t match the quality Im so shocked. Paying £40 per person and not eating anything good is so disappointing …

Abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Locale italiano con personale davvero professionale e molto divertente. La pizza è davvero su altissimi standard, considerando che ci si trova fuori dall'italiano. Il.bravo pizzaiolo (lode a te) è delle Marche. Ci mette tutto il cuore nella preparazione delle pizze. Pasta , dolci e tutto il resto viaggiano su alti livelli. Molto divertenti i canti e tamburelli per omaggiare chi compie gli anni. Il personale è composto anche da bravi Avellinesi. Prezzi davvero nella norma. Come in Italia. Posto spazioso. Consigliata la prenotazione. Non vedo l'ora di tornare di nuovo. P.S.: mi fa sempre commuovere il personale che lavora all'estero. Sono attaccatissimi alla nostra Patria. Italian food is one of my favourite cuisines and the conundrum I always face is whether I should order pizza or pasta. This place makes it even worse for me because the menu is extensive. The tomato-based pasta dishes are flavourful and moreish. Portions are generous and your promised last bites are never that. The pizzas are Goldilocks—not too thick, but not cracker-thin and, of course, crisp with no soggy bottoms. I’ve only eaten here twice, but I intend to come back and try more dishes. This restaurant appears wildly popular in the evenings around the weekend. Lunchtime is better and surprisingly calm.

Unfortunately their supposed to be Italian food isn't like before anymore. The last two meals I had there were just not really quality ones.

We've been going here for more than 20 years. Last 2 or 3 visits have been really poor. Mostly all new staff who can be rude ,service is appalling now. food has gone downhill like it's all pre cooked and then heated up when ordered had to send back a burnt pizza and wrong dish ,when i questioned it the guy mumbled and snatched the palte .such a shame as we won't be returning anytime soon.

Sgame about the food. Service is great, location is cool and there is a nice atmosphere. Shame that for a pizza restaurant they make a truly average pizza. It is just so bland in every respect. Horrible service. The owner asked my English friend why he was there as English people know nothing about food. Yesterday, we were about to sit down, and the waiter shouted at us “Eeee” and the he told us to sit down. They never came for an order and we left. The reviews have dropped dramatically since 2021.

During a late-night food hunt, this warmly lit restaurant stood out as one of the few options still open. Both the pasta and pizza were delicious, and the prices were pleasantly affordable. Perfect for a satisfying, budget-friendly Italian meal after dark.

I live within the area. Been there few times as we like the food,but had bad experience with the service most of the times,specially when it comes to one of the waiters. Last time was too much and decided to finally write a review. Went there with my mom and my 6 months old baby on a Monday for lunch. Only 4 or 5 tables,” seated inside, a very quiet day and 2 waiters working. Made us wait by the door for over 5 mins. Finally decided to just grab a table. Waited another 7 minutes to get a menu. Waited another 10 mins for someone to come and take the order. Got the starter after another 7 minutes but no drinks. Bare in mind we only ordered a bottle of water. On a quiet Monday afternoon. It’s the same waiter always ignoring us. This last time he made it so obvious. Hates his job. We like the food, but the service deserves a minus 10. I work within the hospitality business and I always try to be flexible and understand. But this is way too much.

The food was fantastic but maybe because our party group was right at the back of the restaurant, the service wasn't so good. It took more than an hour just to get served, and only one waiter to take the food order, and there were around 30 of us. Our main courses eventually came but without our side orders , veges and potatoes etc 🥔 and almost 20 minutes later they came with our side orders. Some waited, and some of us couldn't. The staff did apologise many times.

The pizzeria is excellent. The restaurant has been around since 1985. I visited the restaurant when it first opened. The fungi pizza is one of the best items on the menu. The menu is very extensive and the prices are very fair (given London prices)

The food was a disaster. I'm pretty sure they sent us leftovers from other customers. We found bitten olives in the salad. We ordered a mixed grill, but the quantity was too small, and the meat was not fresh. It seemed like they grilled it, left it out for a day, and then grilled it again for us. I'm so disappointed. I wish the municipality would close this restaurant for disrespecting the customers.

Had the most uncomfortable experience here yesterday which is really sad because I used to love this place. The staff were speaking about me continually in Italian assuming I didn’t know the language whilst also giving me dirty looks. All of this made me extremely uncomfortable and ruined my date night. The food was ok but people visiting should be cautious of the bad service and rude staff members.

Lovely place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff but this place is not authentic. Broccoli 🥦 does not belong in pasta 🍝 🤮. If a restaurant has a hundred items on the menu you should be suspicious. It's better to have a select few, core items. Didn't try the pizza though so maybe that's better they do have a stone oven.

Amazing food Quality and quantity

My 4 star rating is only for staff present on our Wednesday dinner visit. All staff members were extremely nice, friendly, polite and attentive. Special words of appreciation for our waiter Aziz which made an extra mile to make my evening as pleasurable as possible, takin under consideration my misbehaving due to late hours son. Food was ok, but nothing to come back for. Portions were massive, prices quite low, perhaps smaller portions but better ingredients and bit more love during preparation would make the difference.
