The ring o bells in Cheshire West and Chester

Initially really impressed with the pub, looks very smart, the young lady serving at the bar doing an excellent job, my partner asked if I was hungry as I popped in to join him after a hard day at work. The young lady gave us a couple menus, as browsing the menu, another lady senior to the young lady, told her off across the pub for handing out menus, which made me feel uncomfortable and I did not order anything and gave the menu back. I felt very uncomfortable in the pub and felt sorry that the young lady was spoken to in such a way that was unprofessional. The senior staff member should have spoken to the young lady privately not in front of the whole pub that was busy. As it was my first experience in this pub and it’s a local pub for myself, this experience has put me off going to it again, which is a shame as I would of loved to have tried their menu which looks nice.

Made an early evening booking,got there not very busy four tables and one table with eight to ten people. Waitress came over after half an waiting for our meal,she said because of large table booking they were running late and apologised,20 minutes later our meals finally arrived. Mine was nice but my partner wasn't happy at all with his meal,overdone hard chip's and blood on the plate for a medium to well done steak. Told the waitress, about the chip's when she asked how was the meal(he hadn't tasted the steak yet)she offered to get more chips but we had already waited 50 minutes so didn't want to wait any longer. That's it...We paid our bill and left...chip's uneaten!!! Also once seated we had to get our own drinks when really we should have been served at the table. Won't be eating here again.

Another Great meal, Service was excellent, food was High standard as usual, Please thank all you Staff for giving up there Christmas Day to give us an excellent day. Barbara + Glenn.

As always fantastic food tonight at the Ring O Bells . Bits n Bobs board followed by a range of food including salad, risotto and burgers for all of us. We were so full! 🤣❤️ Great service too. Really pleased to see the hard work turning this pub around has been worth it. 👌👌

VG Lasagne- good portion size. VG light bite fish and chips which was substantial for a small appetite. Good service. Lovely relaxing place. Many thanks. Excellent brownies!

We chose this venue because it was roughly equidistant between our home and our friends’ home and what a good choice . The food was excellent and the staff were really lovely. One of our company was in a wheelchair and they made every effort to make things easy . I would definitely recommend the lasagne and, unlike in making places , the chips were really tasty.

Checked my receipt on Sunday after having lunch on Thursday 3rd oct ,what was a £58 meal for two, turned out to cost £75 ,I had already given a £5 tip to the waitress, but on checking my receipt £10 had been added , I have rang twice but no one is picking up. Why do business people want to rip customers off , no fair play anymore, that’s me done with the ring o bells for me they have shot themselves in the foot .

Wonderful bao bun and fish and chips. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Best to book as it is getting really popular. Reasonable prices too.

Absolutely spot on. Food, atmosphere, decor, parking, staff. All very good indeed. Travellers and locals would be advised to try the Ring0 Bells now its old image has been removed. This pub is very good and well worth visiting

Food was ok, what was more disappointing was when we had finished our drinks, the waitress cleared them away even though we weren’t ready to leave. At lunchtime of all times, we may have gone for another drink. When we queried this, was told this was part of her training! In all our years of eating out this has never happened. Puts us off returning even though the pub was half empty.

Great local eatery. About 400 yards from our house and the food is top class. Great when we are at a loose end and what a well cooked meal. Would recommend it to anyone. Great service, great food.

Absolutely fabulous. The best "mooing" fillet steak I've had anywhere in years. Lovely food and fabulous service and will be back in a heartbeat!

We went early on a Friday evening. It's quite agreeable inside, with tasteful but unobtrusive decoration. The menu had a lot of good choices, but we decided on their sharing platter to start with. This is Chicken in a Bourbon dip, Squid in batter, poppadoms, salad and a pot of raita. The Bourbon dip should be bottled and sold, it's so good. It's tangy without being too sweet. The raita was delicious, with a definite mint flavour. Squid can become rubbery if over-cooked, this was perfect. The first course was definitely a winner. For the main course I had cod and chips, with real home made and tasty chips. My wife had a couple of the starters; their mushrooms in creme sauce is superb, she bought onion rings and coleslaw to go with it. There was nothing in the meal we thought was poor, everything exceeded our expectations. I know this is pub grub, but it's pub grub done to a high standard. The service was good too. I was too full after the starter and main course to buy dessert, perhaps next time. Anything I didn't like? I usually avoid places that have sport on TVs but that's just my personal choice. I was impressed, I'll be returning with some friends.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. The chef is excellent. Willing to adjust meals. Cannot emphasise enough how good the food is here. The staff are fabulous.

Starter shared platter Squid.hallumi etc Main meal mixed Sunday lunch ( various meats ) all freshly cooked Staff very professional and nothing to much for them ...even got a couple of youngsters of our party to go and decorate some cookies and brought them back to the table Well done to the staff of the Ring Of Bells Will be seeing you again Ray and Carol Winsford

I went today with my Auntie for Sunday lunch, I thought it was a beautiful pub, the staff were amazing and the food was gorgeous, I will come again for sure, thank you

What has happened to this place is remarkable. I remember when it was tatty boozer scattered with all day drinkers. They’ve fully refurbished it both inside and outside and turned it into a class gastro pub serving fantastic food. The place is a lot bigger inside than I remember. It now competes with a similar gaff the other side of Weaverham. For me it’s better. Better choice and cheaper. The service was excellent. Not slow but gave you time to enjoy your experience. Pretty good value as well. Oh and don’t forget the real ales. Landlord on tap. A must try.

Fantastic food. Clearly freshly cooked, big portions. Excellent service, great with the kids. Husband is also coeliac and they were really good about that

5 of us decided to go for lunch and instead of driving outside weaverham we thought we would try eating locally as the food had been recommended... we were not disappointed... we hadn't been in the pub before renovations as we thought it was just a man's beer pub... what a pleasant surprise... lovely friendly staff, lovely decoration etc... very comfortable and the food was freshly cooked, veg nice and firm etc, only the apple pie wasn't nice the rest was lovely and plenty of it.. definitely will be back!

We've eaten here three times and each time the food has been excellent, the service spot on and the atmosphere wonderful. We're going again tomorrow for the weekly Rump and Wine evening on Tuesdays. Cannot recommend enough. Enjoy!

We came for Sunday lunch for the first time today. Our party included my 5 year old. Interior is cosy, warm and well decorated. Staff were polite and attentive. Sunday roasts were delicious - even my fussy 5 year old cleaned her plate. Desserts were nice too and for the quality of food we thought the prices were reasonable. Such a lovely eatery in the village and I’m already booking to go again to celebrate my birthday.

Great food- what a change for this pub from how it was years ago. Delicious Sunday lunch- proper food and interesting menu. The staff were so friendly and helpful- true service with a smile. I agree with another reviewer- the cheesecake is to die for.

A warm friendly greeting marked our arrival. The dining area is stylish, comfortable and relaxing. The food was excellent: a succulent rump steak and the chicken supreme certainly got our vote and are highly recommended, without doubt. We were impressed with the varied and comprehensive menu. It only served to make our selection a bit more difficult; so many mouthwatering dishes on offer! The service accompanying our meal ensured we left with the decision to visit again soon. Lovely people and we wish every success for this really good restaurant, Thank you for an excellent dining experience!

Friendly staff. Food excellent - the cheesecake was out of this world. The sticky chicken could have done with a sauce and the halloumi fries were gorgeous so light.

I absolutely lived my meal and so did my family. They have a really good menu. Service was really quick and the staff were a delight really friendly. All in all it was really lovely experience. Definitely stop in if you pass by it

We live local and so wanted to try the newly renovated pub. Absolutely fabulous! We shared squid to start, gorgeous, squid in a poppadom with a salad and chilli dressing. REAL squid, not processed as in other restraurants. Then my husband had the Stilton burger, the burger was substantial with homemade chips. I had the Stilton and steak pie. The burger was amazing, the steak pie was full of steak, with a puff pastry topping. Really tasty, but I prefer shortcrust pastry. Overall very impressed. They even asked if I wanted my carrots honey roasted. Didnt try a sweet as we were too full. Will definitely go again. I would definitely recommend trying this pub. Really happy we now have a new go to for a long late lunch.
