Wow... This was an insanely brilliant experience. We had the unlimited experience and were not disappointed at all. From the moment we walked in staff were friendly, helpful and very happy to talk through the process. Food was excellent from the buffet to the meat and drinks. The servers were very respectful if the card was turned over to give you a breather in-between meats coming round. Our waiter was absolutely brilliant thank you. 😊 Perfect evening 👌 thank you. We will be back x

Excellent fresh meat all the time passing through your table. Buffet food rich serving with most of the typical Brazilian food. There it’s options a la carte for vegetarians. I’ve had alcohol free cocktails OMG they are insane.

Steaks were amazing and properly cooked. We were there about 12:30pm so everything was really fresh. The salads were delicious too.

We came here tonight as a belated birthday treat for myself. What can I say but, wow! Food was outstanding and plenty of it. The salad bar alone would fill you up, and whilst it says salad bar, there was all kinds there from cheeses to potatoes,garlic mushrooms to smoked salmon, and that is just naming a few. The meats were amazing, seasoned beautifully, and cooked to perfection. Staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys their meats. The restaurant is a lovely place and perfect atmosphere to enjoy a night with your loved ones. We will definitely return again. My only thing I would say is it didn't look like it was wheelchair friendly as there were steps up to the door, and I couldn't see any other way in.

Brilliant place to go for food. First time I've tried and I weren't disappointed. Salad bar was the best salad bar I have seen, the different meats off the skewers were a different class. Also found out I don’t like chicken hearts but the others I was with really loved them. Chicken wings and the minted lamb was excellent. Good banter from all those serving. 5 stars

Booked for my birthday meal with family, i called and booked for Sunday 6th and requested a booth. Turned up and confirmed the booking with a booth, was told a booth was not available, which is fine, but as I was told differently when booking was made, it was what we were expecting. The issue I have is with the tone and attitude from the manager on the night, making out i was lying which really annoyed me. Booth or no booth, it didn't really matter however the manager should take on customer experience training as if a member of my team acted like that, that person would be on a PIP. Overall the negative interaction put the whole meal on the back step and even though the food was excellent, and the server was attentive, the attitude from the manager was appalling.

Very nice meat , especially the ribs but its only available on weekends Also chicken hearts but you have to ask for it.

Baffled by the routine that occurs here... Overly complicated explanation of how the menu works . Very unusual didn't stay to eat so can't say that the foods good or bad . So it's a very dark strange experience and we left without ordering any food at all...shame

Celebrated bday 08.03.2025 and are not happy about unlimited experience. It was 11 of us and we didn't get half of meat what was available. Waiters just didn't go through us. At the end to get ribs that I seen I had to ask 5!! times. And finally when it was time to go and I said that I still waiting for ribs, they were served. Didn't get a bday treat either. Lest £500 in a restaurant and didn't get full experience. Been asked to contact the customer service. Sent an email. No reply in a week.

Expensive but high-quality restaurant serving non-stop range of steaks, chicken, pork etc accompanied by a fabulous buffet. Not the place for vegans! Actually felt somewhat overwhelmed by taste of meat by the end, so would probably choose a different food option, alongside the superb buffet next time. For carnivores, though, this place must be food heaven.

My family of 3 were really looking forward to this meal. We are all meat eaters. All 3 of us thought the salad bar was the best bit, and that shouldn't be the case. We were warned that the meat is on the rare side which we didn't have that big an issue with. But as soon as the sirloin hit my plate and blood was everywhere that was me out.... we lasted 45 mins. We felt it a bit rushed, it was only afterwards we realised that in the frenzy it was only 45 mins we were there, we normally spend 1.5 to 2 hours at a meal. Tried about 5 different cuts and they were all chewy, fatty, cold and though..... I mean wtf. How can it all be so rare/bloody and still be tough and chewy??? The only meat that all 3 of us finished was the sausage. We didn't get any fillet or chicken. We tried meats where the skewer was untouched and skewers that had little meat left, all chewy and tough. The amount of waste between the 3 of us was terrible, I hate wasting food. We all wished we hadn't bothered and just got a fresh stake from a restaurant that was cooked to order. It was gimmicky and ruined the meat. All aspects from the service, salad bar, drinks, atmosphere, toilets were 10/10. The meat was about a 5 or 6....... disappointed. Wouldn't return. We went on a Friday and ot was pumping, really busy and maybe that was the issue. If quieter then might have got better meat. Out of the 6 places we ate at whilst in Chester. This was the worst. The meat was a total letdown.....

Our first experience at this type of place for my wife's birthday. Lovely venue, great salad bar and a very good selection of meats brought out. Portuguese red was exceptional as well. My only gripe is that unless you like rare to medium meat you will need to ensure you tell the servers straight away that you like it more cooked otherwise you will be limited until they cook it for you. I have to say though that they did come back a couple of times with meat they thought would be okay for me and tried. Minted lamb and caramelised pork were delicious. Overall a lovely birthday lunch.

Went for lunch, as the reviews looked good, how wrong I was. The salad bar was fine, but what should have been the star of the show the "meat" was very poor quality, it was tough and tasteless. The meal was a complete waste of £72. When I told them about our experience, they did apologise, took off the service charge and a small discount. The point is we didn't eat any of the meat, so the bill should have been halved! Please don't waste your money, it's over priced.

What a fabulous first experience we had at the Rio Steakhouse in Chester. We didn't know what to expect but it was clearly explained to us by our friendly waitress. The salad bar was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach - vibrant in colour and flavour and we would have been happy with that but turn your table card to green and the freshly cooked meat just keeps on coming. Brought to our table on a kebab like skewer, the waiter sliced the beef for us to take with our tongs, different cuts followed by chicken, gammon and ribs. Our waitress asked if there were any on the menu we hadn't had yet but would like to try and it wasn't long before it arrived. Altogether a great experience in a beautiful city.

Came up here to visit the Aquarium, my daughter likes Steak so thought we would try this place, got there about 1455, plenty of empty tables was told they close on a Saturday for Lunch??? Walked across the road to Opera, the staff were lovely and accommodating, my Daughter loved her steak and mine was great too I’m so glad Rio said they were closed for lunch even though google says there open

Had a great meal. Expensive but worth every penny. Meat overload! Beef, pork, lamb etc coming to your table on skewers every 5 minutes. All you can eat. Salad bar available (go as many times as you want). Brazilian style cooking .

Food was delicious,all of the served meat was freshly cooked and taste suprb. Staff wery helpfull and nice. Highly recomended.

Excellent food, service was brilliant. The atmosphere was lovely.

Way too expensive, service box standard, nothing special. No atmosphere. Large groups don't won't to know how you achieve such high levels to be a waiter. We come to enjoy our own company. We don't want you to stand there and explain what about to happen when we can just pick up the menu that next to our plate(or yes we can read could you believe it that 8 people of the same group all over the age of 30 can read) in my opinion not worth it.

Great steak, fresh off the meat block since they walk it around & offer it to you. Extremely quick, no long waits. Amazing all around, wish I lived closer to one!

Absolutely fantastic meal last night. Food was out of this world. Young girls looking after our table couldn't do enough even asking if we had any requests and they'd go find the meats of choice. Unbelievable experience 11/10

We just had an incredible meal at this steakhouse! The food was off the charts—everything from the cheesy bread to the perfectly cooked steaks was top quality. The atmosphere was great, and the staff made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back for more deliciousness soon—highly recommend!

I came here for food at the weekend, and I was absolutely blown away with the restaurant. I was visiting my friends that lived in Chester and they had been raving about this place, so we agreed that we shall pay it a visit. From the moment I walked into the moment I walked out. I was extremely impressed with not only the service and the atmosphere of the restaurant but the high-quality of the food. Everything on the buffet aspect of the restaurant was extremely fresh and tasty and as for the meat that was being bought around the restaurant on the skewers, I couldn’t fault it at all. Everything was cooked to exactly how I like. If you find yourself in Chester, I would 100% recommend this place!

Group of 8 of us went to Rio for my 30th birthday dinner for the first time; it blew our expectations out the water, our server explained everything and looked after us all night. Had a coupe of cocktails which were strong. All you can eat was amazing the servers came around often but towards the end of the night it got scarse. I saw some reviews that they had “happy birthday platters” come out at the end, table next to us got one but we never so felt a little left out. Overall the food was delicious and couldn’t stop eating.

Was here visiting Chester with myself and my Therapy dog. I have Autism and he is with me everywhere for that reason. He has had training and passed with flying colour but this isnt good enough for Rio as they wouldn't allow me to have him with me and experience the food and experience. So no stars if I could. UPDATE Back over from Ireland and went to go for a romantic meal for one(Me) and was booked out so I'll never get to ever try it. Life moves on. A forgotten wish.

Great restaurant. Staff are so friendly and helpful, good atmosphere, lively and bustling but chilled enough me and my husband could feel relaxed and enjoy our meal. Salad bar is so good, the choices were all so fresh and tasty, meat was all amazing, and the servers are all so generous and friendly. We thought the prices were decent for what you get. Will return whenever we come back to Chester.

TERRIFIC!!! We've been to steak restaurants many times but the meat here was really great. Each skewer was super tasty, very well seasoned and grilled to perfection. There is also a salad buffet. Highly recommended!

I had a fantastic meal recently and can't stop raving about it! The meat was spot on, and the drink selection was top quality, but I did find the fries and coleslaw a bit on the salty side. The atmosphere was lively, and the team was super friendly, making sure we were enjoying everything. I'll definitely be back for those gorgeous mushrooms and more of that delicious cheese bread!

Visited for lunch and had a great meal! Friendly staff, quick service and really tasty food!! The hot and cold sides were amazing and plentiful. The meats came round quickly , where piping hot and cooked our taste. The creamy mushrooms came with a gorgeous sauce which was perfect for the steak, and in our opinion there are so many sauce options on the salad buffet that you didn’t need the peppercorn sauce (extra charge.) The only thing is that the pineapple came with the gammon, and so didn’t have cinnamon on it which other places do and we love! However we would definitely recommend and will be back soon! Many thanks all!

It's is honestly the best place we've been to in Chester. The service is exceptional, the food speaks for itself. It's incredible all-round. I believe this is our 3rd visit and we can keep looking for reasons to come. You're looking at a minimum of £100 on a evening with a single round of drinks and the OPTIONAL service charge of 10%. Lunch is well worth the visit too. Do it. Go in. Absolutely no regrets.

I visited Rio Brazilian Steakehouse in Chester and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was very cozy, and they were playing samba at a very pleasant volume, which made me feel like I was in a little piece of Brazil. The cold cuts table had a lot of things, but the best part was the feijoada, which was sensationally delicious, with a very good vinaigrette. The meats were very good. The service was excellent, both from the waiters and from the guy who served us at the door, I believe he was the manager, who was great and super friendly too. I will be back again.

I've been to a lot of Brazilian and Argentina steak restaurants around the world. But unfortunately, this was not one of the best i have eaten at. The salad bar had a poor selection to choose from. The meat brought around on skewers, the selection was limited. I was disappointed the slow cooked beef ribs weren't available on weekday evenings.

A great place to visit for a different dining experience. Great choices on the salad cart and the meat is excellent. Highly recommended for a different dining experience.

From the host on the door to the meat servers to the section lead. Food was superb and you get your moneys worth that’s for sure. Thanks again.. we had a very lovely time on a very rare night out. I just had the most unforgettable dining experience! The all-you-can-eat meat was simply the best, and every dish was cooked to perfection, especially the Picanha and Lamb. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff made us feel super welcome and taken care of throughout the night. I couldn't fault a thing—everything was top-notch, from the service to the salad bar. Wow! Food at Rio is always fantastic, but 11/10 service is what makes it perfect! Perfectly attentive and patient, restaurant concept explained in perfect detail! Meat came around plenty from very friendly people and we did not feel a difference in attentiveness from when we walked in to a relatively quiet restaurant to most seats filled about half way through our dining. After some banter about our friends birthday badge they even brought out a birthday plate with some ice cream (definitely a struggle to finish, but that’s because we didn’t want to stop eating our mains!) Big thank you to Immy and the rest of the team who served us :)

Definitely a place I would recommend! The servers were coming round every couple of minutes for the first hour but then the service did slow up. I did have to ask for a couple of the meats as they hadn't reached our table.

As a brazilian, I can assure that this place totally worth a visit. The staff was really friendly and attentive. The place itself is really nice/chic, with Brazilian and English music playing. But now the most important, the food was absolutely 10/10, the buffet has a great variety of options, including Brazilian things such as feijoada, farofa e batata palha and the meet was amazing, shout out to the lamb, rib, picanha and caramelized pork!! Would definitely visit again.

I had a truly brilliant dining experience! The meat selection was top-notch—especially the lamb, which was absolutely banging. Service was spot on; I felt welcomed right from the start, and the team clearly knew their stuff. The atmosphere was just right, and the salad bar was impressive too. Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing—couldn’t have asked for a better night out!

Last week we visited from Norfolk for my birthday and it did not disappoint! Lovely decor, clean, welcoming and all staff very friendly. Jordan was our server and he was brilliant, and attentive. He was always on hand checking if we were okay, if we had any meat requests and he even remembered us saying it was my birthday. All staff here were fantastic, they paid attention to the fact I like my meat medium/well done and they would say to me “this meat will be too rare for you but yours will be over in a minute” and they weren’t wrong, not even a minute later I was being offered meat of how I like it cooked. The service was fantastic, absolutely faultless, the staff here really look after and take care of you. Thank you Jordan for my happy birthday ice cream, a lovely touch which will be remembered. When we visit Chester again in the future we will definitely be back!

Took my son for lunch for a birthday treat. The staff were very nice and friendly, but unfortunately I was disappointed, I LOVE salt. I have it on everything, but all the meat was extremely salty, I couldn't eat any of it at all. The salad bar was the best part. Next time, I will try the pescatarian or vegetarian option

If you're looking for steak in Chester there is nowhere better. With a selection of perfectly cooked cuts, as well as a variety of other meat choices served at your table, this is one of my absolute favourite places to eat in the city.

We were served by a guy called Shaun who was nice enough to fit us in even though we booked our table for the wrong day!! Servers are friendly and ALWAYS make sure you have enough food on your plate, small slices but that's good because they come around so frequently and there's such a large range- it's nice to heat the company treats them well My only complaint would be that the music was too loud (I can be quite sensitive to sound) but I think that's just because our table was quite close to the speakers, earplugs and I was fine, great value for money, lovely place

Booked a late lunch as we were checking into a hotel 100 metres away. The name of the restaurant drew us in and we had literally no idea of the concept of this dining experience until our server explained but we were delighted in the choice we had made! The whole experience from start to finish was just fabulous! We only wish we had more nights booked at the hotel to enjoy another meal. We are also hoping you will open your next restaurant in Colchester, Essex. This is not only perfect for meat eaters and those following a low carb eating plan will think they’re in heaven! It is also a great place for non meat eaters as the salad bar is like no other with hot and cold choices galore! there are also vegetarian options to choose from on the menu. No photos to share as too busy stuffing our faces!!

What a fantastic restaurant. The salad bar is amazing - best selection I've ever seen and all fresh. However the main attraction is the meats that they bring around .... a slice or slices (as much as you can eat) of several cuts of beef including sirloin/rib/garlic coated, lamb, pork, chicken in bacon, bbq chicken, sausages, chicken wings ..... the list goes on. All the food is freshly prepared, hot and delicious. Endless supply of chips and pepper sauce are also provided. We were a party of 8 and the service was first class with friendly waiting on staff and food service staff - nothing was too much trouble. Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely revisit. For meat eaters it is heaven.

Heavenly DELICIOUS!!!😍 Beef and Lamb in the photo. You can ask for any degree of cooking, i.e. more well-done etc, if you wish! They will freshly slice off the meat for you at your table. This is a high-quality "all you can eat" restaurant and the SATISFACTION is GUARANTEED!!🥳 Non meat eaters can also enjoy themselves. The staff is super attentive and friendly. A whole lot of meat!!! The options were endless an absolute must for meat lovers. The salad bar should have its own restaurant. It was amazing but over shadowed by the copious amounts of meat.

Lovely restaurant, the staff are really nice. Dinner is 40 something pounds but you get soo much delicious food and the variety of the food is excellent. They continuously bring you a variety of meats, and you can request a particular meat you would like. The salad bar is fantastic too, with lots of premium items like king prawns, smoked salmon, beef and bean stew etc. you will definitely not leave here hungry. It's amazing!!

Lovely place to have a meal in chester, quality food and great service. You do feel a bit bombarded when the meat is 1st being served but it does calm down. Great place for a special night.

Really helpful, great service and great food. They made sure to check what cuts we like and how cooked we liked them. They have a chart where they keep note of such things for servers. Caught a glimpse of it on the way to the disabled loo. What a great idea! I wish more rodizios would do this. Can't recommend it enough. We'll definitely be visiting again

What a restaurant. Food was amazing, the salad bar had a lot to offer for anyone, even the fussy partner. She had a decent plate of different offerings. The meat being served by the multiple waiters was exquisite, you could tell they put the time and effort in to make sure your experience was top notch. Our server, who I unfortunately cannot remember the name off, was great. He was attentive, asked us we wanted more of any specific meats, but wasn't pushy in trying to get more drinks out of you. It totalled at around £124.00 but for a one off anniversary treat, it was worth every penny. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommend.

This place is out of this world!! Quality, quantity, service and variety is incredible This is the 2nd time we have been and it is unbelievable. A must visit for any meat lover. Matt is the best host ever. I would be honoured to employ him.

I don’t often write reviews, however wanted to share how great this place is for those that are Gluten Free. We had a GF person in our group, from the second we walked through the door staff were aware and fully understood the difficulties this can pose, they were understanding and the menu and food is probably 90% - 95% available. Everything is labelled very clearly and all staff informed and trained to understand this. Salad bar is immense and fresh, the hot food flows and plentiful, great place, great food, lovely well trained staff and atmosphere.

Amazing food. Vegetarian and vegan options were delicious and very well portioned. Salad bar was delicious and well stocked. Meat eating friends said the meat was lovely. Only flaw, was told there was a 20 min wait for veggie options, it was a little longer, and I had filled myself up with the amazing salad bar so couldn't finish my risotto when it did arrive. Staff were super helpful and I would definitely eat here again! 👍
