Rio Brazilian Steakhouse in Cheshire West and Chester

Took my son for lunch for a birthday treat. The staff were very nice and friendly, but unfortunately I was disappointed, I LOVE salt. I have it on everything, but all the meat was extremely salty, I couldn't eat any of it at all. The salad bar was the best part. Next time, I will try the pescatarian or vegetarian option

If you're looking for steak in Chester there is nowhere better. With a selection of perfectly cooked cuts, as well as a variety of other meat choices served at your table, this is one of my absolute favourite places to eat in the city.

We were served by a guy called Shaun who was nice enough to fit us in even though we booked our table for the wrong day!! Servers are friendly and ALWAYS make sure you have enough food on your plate, small slices but that's good because they come around so frequently and there's such a large range- it's nice to heat the company treats them well My only complaint would be that the music was too loud (I can be quite sensitive to sound) but I think that's just because our table was quite close to the speakers, earplugs and I was fine, great value for money, lovely place

Very enjoyable, good value, don’t go overboard with their salad bar because it’s very tempting, but you’ll get value for money from the meat.

Booked a late lunch as we were checking into a hotel 100 metres away. The name of the restaurant drew us in and we had literally no idea of the concept of this dining experience until our server explained but we were delighted in the choice we had made! The whole experience from start to finish was just fabulous! We only wish we had more nights booked at the hotel to enjoy another meal. We are also hoping you will open your next restaurant in Colchester, Essex. This is not only perfect for meat eaters and those following a low carb eating plan will think they’re in heaven! It is also a great place for non meat eaters as the salad bar is like no other with hot and cold choices galore! there are also vegetarian options to choose from on the menu. No photos to share as too busy stuffing our faces!!

What a place from food to service every thing was fantastic thats all that needs to be said

What a fantastic restaurant. The salad bar is amazing - best selection I've ever seen and all fresh. However the main attraction is the meats that they bring around .... a slice or slices (as much as you can eat) of several cuts of beef including sirloin/rib/garlic coated, lamb, pork, chicken in bacon, bbq chicken, sausages, chicken wings ..... the list goes on. All the food is freshly prepared, hot and delicious. Endless supply of chips and pepper sauce are also provided. We were a party of 8 and the service was first class with friendly waiting on staff and food service staff - nothing was too much trouble. Can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely revisit. For meat eaters it is heaven.

Brilliant place to go for food. First time I've tried one of these red/green All-you-can-eat restaurants and we weren't disappointed. Salad bar was great, though the different meats off the skewers were a different class. Good banter from all those serving. 5 stars

Had an amazing experience at Rio’s 10/10 food was amazing could not fault & pablo one of the servers was so lovely always coming round with more meats for us and chatting to us definitely recommend we will be back !!! :) ( also surprised us with a treat for my partners birthday which was very kind and yummy )

Heavenly DELICIOUS!!!😍 Beef and Lamb in the photo. You can ask for any degree of cooking, i.e. more well-done etc, if you wish! They will freshly slice off the meat for you at your table. This is a high-quality "all you can eat" restaurant and the SATISFACTION is GUARANTEED!!🥳 Non meat eaters can also enjoy themselves. The staff is super attentive and friendly. A whole lot of meat!!! The options were endless an absolute must for meat lovers. The salad bar should have its own restaurant. It was amazing but over shadowed by the copious amounts of meat.

Lovely restaurant, the staff are really nice. Dinner is 40 something pounds but you get soo much delicious food and the variety of the food is excellent. They continuously bring you a variety of meats, and you can request a particular meat you would like. The salad bar is fantastic too, with lots of premium items like king prawns, smoked salmon, beef and bean stew etc. you will definitely not leave here hungry. It's amazing!!

Lovely place to have a meal in chester, quality food and great service. You do feel a bit bombarded when the meat is 1st being served but it does calm down. Great place for a special night.

Really helpful, great service and great food. They made sure to check what cuts we like and how cooked we liked them. They have a chart where they keep note of such things for servers. Caught a glimpse of it on the way to the disabled loo. What a great idea! I wish more rodizios would do this. Can't recommend it enough. We'll definitely be visiting again

What a restaurant. Food was amazing, the salad bar had a lot to offer for anyone, even the fussy partner. She had a decent plate of different offerings. The meat being served by the multiple waiters was exquisite, you could tell they put the time and effort in to make sure your experience was top notch. Our server, who I unfortunately cannot remember the name off, was great. He was attentive, asked us we wanted more of any specific meats, but wasn't pushy in trying to get more drinks out of you. It totalled at around £124.00 but for a one off anniversary treat, it was worth every penny. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommend.

Amazing food. Vegetarian and vegan options were delicious and very well portioned. Salad bar was delicious and well stocked. Meat eating friends said the meat was lovely. Only flaw, was told there was a 20 min wait for veggie options, it was a little longer, and I had filled myself up with the amazing salad bar so couldn't finish my risotto when it did arrive. Staff were super helpful and I would definitely eat here again! 👍

I don’t often write reviews, however wanted to share how great this place is for those that are Gluten Free. We had a GF person in our group, from the second we walked through the door staff were aware and fully understood the difficulties this can pose, they were understanding and the menu and food is probably 90% - 95% available. Everything is labelled very clearly and all staff informed and trained to understand this. Salad bar is immense and fresh, the hot food flows and plentiful, great place, great food, lovely well trained staff and atmosphere.

Best meal of my life, incredible. Staff are brilliant as well, so friendly and welcoming, they kept talking to the kids as well which was brilliant. The meats were incredible. The peppercorn sauce might be the best sauce of any type ever.

Wow! This is a must try, you won’t be disappointed. Salad bar was amazing, beautifully displayed and a lot of work goes into it. All the meat is freshly cooked and carved in front of you. There ample to go round, one of THE best all you can eats we’ve been to. All the staff were friendly, polite and attentive, couldn’t do enough for us. Worth every single penny. Really good food, both the salad buffet and the wide ranges of meats brought to your table. But what made our night was the high quality of the service, all the staff were friendly, polite and happy. Best service I've had in a restaurant in years.

Amazing! I honestly could not fault ANYTHING about Rios! The service from altars to finish was exceptional. All staff friendly welcoming and genuinely lovely. Could not do enough for you. The food was equally amazing. From the buffet to all the meats, including some useful tips on how to make some of the dishes at home! If I could go here every evening for food I would, but I would then be on my 600 pound life! Its just irresistible food! We are planning our next visit soon and can not wait to go back. The meat was excellent, tender perfectly cooked and great variety. Worth the prices. Worth the night out.

Went with my wife and was impressed with everything. I'd ask for medium as medium rare does come out like it's barely hit the pan! I'd go back tonight if I could though!

Fantastic food and great experience

Was here visiting Chester with myself and my Therapy dog. I have Autism and he is with me everywhere for that reason. He has had training and passed with flying colour but this isnt good enough for Rio as they wouldn't allow me to have him with me and experience the food and experience. So no stars if I could.

Staff amazing I had 4 small sliced of meat which all were so fatty very slow bringing meat to table waited 30 mins for a certain request if not longer very disappointed 😕

Went here last night the food was amazing! A special shoutout to Matt who looked after us. Matt asked if we had any allergies, we had a member of the table who was Coeliac and Matt went above and beyond to make sure everyone was perfect. He offered to dish up anything we wanted from the salad bar in the back to make sure there was no cross contamination. Himself and the waitress explained everything that was gluten free - most was gluten free apart from peppercorn sauces and sausages! They even had gluten free puddings, however we were all too stuffed! Will definitely be visiting again!

My sister and brother in-law took me a week ago for my birthday. The service and food were both excellent. All the staff were very helpful and happy. Everything including the great salad bar was delicious.

Great food and great service, only let down by being yet another establishment that puts the service charge automatically on the bill. We always leave a tip, but it should be entirely optional and not added automatically. If they stopped this practice it would be 5 stars all round.

The food and service are very good, it seems to be in a real Brazilian churrascheria, perhaps a little color is missing in the environment to make everything perfect, even if the place is beautiful. From the appetizer to the meat rounds, practically everything is very good, the price you pay is fair. At least one Brazilian beer is missing.... but that's okay given the quality of the food. I've been lots of times so its definitely 5 stars on all categories, sometimes when busy it cam take a bit to get the drinks but its absolutely amazing

The best rodizio I've been to. Fantastic service, plenty of fantastic cuts of excellent quality meat (mainly beef) going around, properly cooked. Great variety at the salad bar, great selection of wines and drinks. The ambience of the restaurant is second to none, the staff are very discreet but also attentive at the same time. I really cannot fault anything! Wonderful experience, I would definitely become a regular (alas, I don't live locally).

The food is delicious.. the Brazilian rump cap is melt in the mouth.. the wine list extensive.. the Chilan Merlot was a great full bodied accompaniment. Loved it!

This place was absolutely outstanding in every way! We walked in without a reservation but nothing was too much trouble. We were taken to a nice table near to the salad bar where the process was explained very well by the most amazing host. He advised us not to fill up on the salad and sides bar but I couldn't help myself, the most amazing garlic mushrooms and rosemary potatoes were too delicious! We then turned our cards to green and the meat just didn't stop coming. Every single meat was delicious and the variety was fantastic. My favourites were the picanha and the garlic picanha. We were checked on regularly and asked if we had any requests for specific meats, more fries, drinks etc. The service here was the best I have experienced for a very long time. Every single person was welcoming, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The people are really what makes this place stand out amongst similar restaurants in other cities. Well worth the journey and great value.

Went here today for my late birthday meal, wow, what an experience, staff so friendly, amazing food, place was clean and had a complimentary board for my birthday, just a shame i did’nt ask the staff for a photo as i do memory albums for when the grandkids are older, but will be visiting again, ❤️

The best piranha and the best rodizio in the UK

Had heard great things about the restaurant, but left very disappointed. Had a booking yesterday evening and the setting is lovely, the staff were great. The salad bar hadn’t been refreshed and looked lifeless. The majority of the meats looked great but tasted like they had been boiled - not how steak should taste. Not to mention the fillet mignon (which i had been looking forward to) was a grey and tough mess. We kept hoping that the next meat would be better. The minted lamb was delicious and so was the ribeye but that was it. It had been a long day for us and didn’t want to cause a fuss but now I regret not mentioning this to the staff. For the price we paid I would certainly expect better.

We had a wonderful dinner experience at Rio Chester. The waiter who served us and the gauchos are very friendly, 10/10. Truly felt in a Brazilian steakhouse. The meats are delicious, well presented and really well served. The salad bar is great as well. Our favourites were picanha/garlic picanha and the special cut of this weekend, costela. Delightful.

It is an "all-you-can-eat" rodizio-style steakhouse, which features waiters bringing skewers of meats directly to your table until you indicate you're full. It offers a selection of grilled meats, including cuts of beef, chicken, pork and lamb, as well as a salad bar. Diners can choose to have more meat brought or decline by flipping over a colored card ("more meat" or "no more meat"). Our family recently visited Rio to celebrate (seriously meat loving) son's 24th birthday, and we were beyond impressed. We booked online in advanced without any problems. The location is super convenient right in the heart of Chester. When we arrived, the service staff greeted us warmly and seated us right away. The dining room has a nice, festive atmosphere decorated with colorful banners and artwork. We all decided to indulge in the all-you-can-eat rodizio experience - not sure even if they offer more limited choice but why would you want that??. The salad bar was fantastically stocked with plenty of great options for salads and side dishes but having some experience with these type of restaurant, you better pace yourself without overloading on salads for starter. Drinks and cocktails were ordered and quickly delivered and we could get to the main work here - meat consumption. Waiters paraded around with dozens of sizzling skewers of grilled meats, and we were in carnivore heaven. They had all our favorites like Picanha, Fraldinha, Rump, Peppered Steak, Sirloin oh plus anything chicken, pork and lamb - everything was melt-in-your-mouth tender. It may have been a windy pouring rain and miserable day outside but it was Latin day shining inside Rio. We couldn't even handle trying every item because it was just so rich and filling! My son was over the moon with his birthday meal at Rio. We took our time enjoying the company and relaxing for a few hours (I recommend planning the same when you visit). When we couldn't possibly fit another bite, we finally surrendered our "no more meat" card. The prices were very reasonable for all-you-can-eat too. Not much to improve - maybe offered service for coats and bags storage would be great for extra convenience. Also the chimichurri - we are huge fans of this sauce with meat and the recipe used was not as good as we had in other places (IMO - Much more parsley needed and dial back the shallots/garlic). But that's really nitpicking for making fantastic into super-fantastic. In summary, Rio Brazilian Steakhouse delivered BIG TIME for our special occasion. The staff provided excellent service throughout our visit (Regards to Fabio). We would absolutely recommend Rio to anyone looking for a memorable meat-centric meal - you won't leave disappointed. As far as my son is concerned, this is now our new go-to spot on next visits to Chester!

Sadly the quality of the meat was very poor! Salad bar very good and interesting. Staff pleasant and attentive. Atmosphere just okay, dismal where seven of us sat.. Definitely not good value, sweets very expensive. Couldn't recommend it. Sorry.! Need better quality meat to be consistent with the lovely salad bar..

A Brazilian cheese bread is served as a starter while you order your drinks. You take at plate from the end of the buffet bar which has different chesses, salads, cold meats, rice, and a Brazilian black bean stew with pork and sun dried beef. At the table you flip the meat disc to green for them to serve the different cuts of beef, pork and chicken. I recommend the picanha steak which is nice and tender. Before the waiter slices the beef, tell him how you like it so he can cut the way you like. Overall a nice experience of how a Brazilain Steakhouse works.

I would give 10 stars if possible… I’ve been in 3 Brazilian rodizio restaurants and this one is by far… I repeat… by far the best one . I was treated so well, the environment is amazing and the people that works in the restaurant is super kind… This is the place to have dinner at Chester. No questions about it. Big thanks to the staff (All of them! )

1st time visiting rio's steakhouse this afternoon. Wow food was amazing lots to chose from. All the staff were welcoming and very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very tidy and clean. I cant not say 1 bad word about this place. I would highly recommend here and we will be coming back. Also Thank you for our anniversary desert board very thoughtful.

When we walked in we didn’t have a reservation but the manager still sorted a table for us so fast. I told him I know the restaurant had the same theme as Fazenda but asked what was the difference. He said they are exactly the same BUT better. When I was leaving I met the same manager and told him”you are right, you are definitely better”. I was completely blown away by their customer service, wider variety of food and hospitality. I’ll be back here. It was my first time in Chester but they made me feel so welcomed. Customer service 10/10, food 10/10, management 10/10. I just couldn’t find a fault in this place.

5 stars on everything here. We were visiting the uk from Sydney Australia and found this place by accident. So glad we decided to have lunch. We've eaten some good steak in Australia but the Brazilian steak at Rio really was superb. The salad bar was great and the service was excellent. We my have to come back!!😁

Couldn’t eat here as they don’t cater for people with stomach problems (I only have 20% stomach) asked if I could pay for a child’s but was refused. Quite embarrassing aswell. Have messaged on instagram but never had a reply

Wow!!! Amazing... the food is 100 percent spot on.. never know staff to be so attentive . The choice of fresh buffet is great. A massive variety .. very clean establishment. Got complimentary cheese bread balls an fries. Very quick service. The meats are constantly flowing.. very good value for money. A must!!! Will not be disappointed. Family welcome. Car park 40 seconds away. Ribs are a special on weekend. Not through the week. The staff go above an beyond..

By far streets ahead of any of the other restaurants in Chester and the north west, the manager and his staff go out of their way to make you welcome, serving excellent food and drinks at reasonable prices.. I have eaten here since it opened and never ever been disappointed, absolutely fantastic

Typical Brasilian restaurant with lots of different meats served at the table. It was delicious but I was dissapointed not to have certain meats. However after the meal I discovered that there was a menu that the waiters failed to give to me to order from so I had just accepted the meats offered to me. I did enjoy the food but I found their safety in the restaurant rather lacking. I could not see any signs for the toilet so had to ask a member of staff for direction and was told it was downstairs. After going downstairs, with difficulty due to a disability, when I got to the bottom stair I found a number of rooms so I had to look around to find which one was a toilet. As I continued to walk and I suddenly fell to the ground. There was another stair to step down which was not part of the staircase and there was no sign to warn of this. This had caused me to fall which at age 80 I should not have been put into this danger. The restaurant is severely lacking warning signs. In my opinion, this is extremely bad. Thus, even though I did enjoy the meal, I have down rated this restarant due to personal safety reasons.

I found the steak RIO steakhouse rather over rated, expensive and not value for money. I was warned before by a few people that it was so. The island salad bar was quite well stocked. But I’m afraid the meat served was just ok. I tried a few different meats ...chicken wings was where nice also the ham but the actual steak portions I had where chewy and tasteless it did cater for rare and medium rare portions which I must say they would oblige, but it took ages to be delivered which spoilt the experience . So it’s a 5/10 from me. Shame 8 people Nearly £400.00

1st time there and can't be faulted for food, service and atmosphere. The table we were at was a little close to the bar so people had to brush passed, but will go back again. The food is to die for, not much to select below, but everything is fantastic

Food: exceptional, meats and buffet were plentiful and amazing, braved the chicken heart and was pleasantly surprised. Hot sauce was what it says hot. Service: staff are fantastic, on the ball with everything, meats, drinks and sides are available when you require. Atmosphere: cozy atmosphere, not overly crowded which we like. It was a treat for our 19th anniversary and we made the right decision.... amazing as always.

Absolutely superb, an unforgettable restaurant and what an experience for a first time visit to a Brazilian steakhouse. Staff were so friendly and helpful, taking extra attention and care towards my disabled partner. Atmosphere was warm and inviting with lovely music. The star of the show was the food, make sure you don't have plans the following day as you WILL be full after sampling their selection of meats. Thank you Rio, we shall return.

Salad bar amazing !!!! Sadly seated by the door so every time someone came in or left we got a chill put our coats back on. Service was ok saw more meats coming round once our plates were taken. Felt very rushed to leave once we said we required no more drinks.

Self service salad bar is worth the money alone with an excellent variety. Staff are very attentive, professional and seem as though they really want us to enjoy the experience - this is just as important as good food in my opinion. We turned our cards over to red and we still had the servers coming over offering another mouth watering portion of meat! Also, and quite unexpectedly, the cocktails were absolutely delicious - just as impressive as the food! Highly recommended, but it’s almost impossible not to eat too much!!

I have been here many times an love this place but in the day time so me and my wife Was really looking forward to goin in the evening..was such a disappointment as we was put by the front door an we was forgot about so was the other table next to us we was by the bar were people was having a drink an was standing next to us was not comfortable at all it was freezing with the door opening and closing and as we was last the food was cold and they kept coming round with the same meats I did ask for the gammon quite a few times when they brought it round we was ready to go they didn't bring us our peppercorn sauce an chips they did apologise and said we did forget you same with table next door... sadly I have been put off as its not cheap and we feel like we wasted out money maybe the table by the door should be just for people waiting for a table or just having a drink .... amazing staff tho

As soon as I walked through the door with my family the staff were attentive and made sure we endured the best experience. Not only were the staff amazing but the food was incredible. Everything from the meat to the salad bar to the drinks was impeccable!!! Will be going back without question!!!

Had lunch at the weekend. Food was good, salad bar good, service again good. Lacked a little atmosphere, we were sat alone in a section of the restaurant. Dislike the added tip on the bill which I understand can be removed or increased. I got the same level of service in the shop after lunch, I didn’t tip them and I’d assume they were also on the same wage. Overall would go again but wouldn’t be overly eager (the seating position, atmosphere and tip put me off)
