Great pub. Can't comment on food because I usually go there for drinks what, are very nice and nice staff. 100% recommend.

Lauren and her team this evening were incredible. The food was delicious and the pub looked fantastic. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming. The atmosphere was lovely and overall a 10/10 experience. I’d advise booking as I’m sure the pub will continue to be busy with the amazing service and food we had today!

5.20 pm on a Sunday. One person behind the bar. Queue of people. Manager no where to be seen. People left because of the queue. It’s also cold in here. Come on Ridgeway, you’ve had this beautiful refit you need to step up with the service

Recently visited for a valentine's meal and had a great experience. Lovely pub with great food and service and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. And being able to order from your table is always a plus! Parking is free for pub guests too. Will definitely be visiting again!

Big windows at the front made it nice and light, fire, music. Due to be refurbished in March

We love this place so much that we travelled from Tufnell Park and Kentish Town to meet up with other family members to celebrate my son Frankie's birthday. It looks very impressive from the outside - it reminds me of arriving at a wonderful hotel for a lovely holiday. It is remarkably spacious inside but also very warm and cosy. We all choose different main meals from the menu that we all agreed were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. And the 3 different members of staff who served our table were very polite, helpful and friendly. We are all looking to our next visit.

Burger was great but chips lukewarm

I had a lovely evening catching up with a friend! We had a lovely meal I had chicken wings and cheese and bacon burger which was lovely. My friend had nachos and a chicken dinner which was equally delicious and nice. The staff were lovely, friendly aand welcoming! The service was attentive, professional but not imposing. I always have a lovely time when I come here. Thank you, I will be back soon!

Christmas dinner was lovely. Portions were large.

I stopped going to the ridgeway a while ago because it was just so grotty. Holes in the ceiling, thread bear carpets, cobwebs on the light shades etc. we have recently started going back for convenience and it seems slightly better. However, my observations as follows, still grotty carpet and light fittings but it seems a bit brighter. Can someone please come round and regularly wipe the tables down, the ladies toilets need attention, the hand dryers don’t work and there is no paper towel. The sanitary bins are quite frankly unsanitary, they stink. Going back down to the bar, can Ember Inns please get some bottled tonic water in, the gut rot on tap is vile. Is there a dress code for staff because I’m not a snob but some of them look as scruffy as god knows what. This pub just needs a few tweaks and it would be a nice environment. Ember Inns just needs to spend a bit of money on it. Does anyone from H.O ever come down and take a look? I think they would be a little embarrassed. The Gryphon is a fine example of what The Ridgeway should look like. Can’t comment on the food as I haven’t eaten in there in quite some time although the NYE menu looked nice

I came for lunch with my aunty, we had a lovely time. The food was lovely, the crispy chicken sandwich was outstanding, the salad was fresh and crisp, the chips were hot, crispy and fluffy and well seasoned. The atmosphere was perfect too. We were initially alerted by Lucy and Lauren who were very accommodating and helpful. We then served by Chiara who was lovely friendly and pleasurable. An altogether fantastic time was had. Went for Christmas Dinna meal was very disappointing Brussels like billard balls potatoes undercooked and sliced to small so not like roast potatoes . starter mushrooms was vile the only thing edible was the pudding .didn't complain because I was in company but when we left they all said the same thing won't be rushing back there shame because we went there last year and it was the opposite .

As a vegan a little worried, however the lasagne and salad was delicious, fresh, and lasagne homemade. 10 out of 10. Bar staff, friendly , efficient and welcoming 10 out of 10. Atmosphere, great, lovely pub decor. 10 out of 10. Male waiter , AP, v courteous, friendly , excellent service. All wonderful.

Food and staff were amazing , just one little observation, glasses were not cleared, and as we were a large table it was getting pretty clogged, so had clear the table ourselves

I came for a lunch with a friend it was lovely. The chicken avocado and bacon wrap with the Cajun fries was delicious. My friend had the battered halloumi and it was like she hadn’t eaten for a week! He prawn starter was lovely too! The service was great from Ria and Lauren. The chefs name was Bogdan his food was lovely.

Been to ridgeway before but tonight was the worst food was awful

Joe and Hannah served me and my family today, lovely people and great service, food was excellent too. My sausage and mash was the perfect size and the hot wings were amazing! 100% recommend if you enjoy a rustic pub atmosphere and great food

First time we've gone there and was very impressed. Really welcoming and the food was delicious.

The tavern offers a warm relaxing atmosphere , enough to shake the autumn chill at night. We arrived, greeted and served immediately. Now onto what everyone that loves food wants to know. The fare was above average, Unfortunately the steak and Guinness pie was sold out. Which although a disappoint was not a problem as their menu is quite extensive and appears to be of good value. All in all a 5 star review ok maybe if every detail was taken in 4.5 stars there's always room for improvement. Staff very helpful , polite, engaging and friendly. It was like a home tavern not a chain.

Excellent food and service, wide range of chose on the menu served by friendly pleasant staff. The prices are affordable and good quality food served in a clean and warm environment. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a decent meal at a decent price. I'm going there for my Christmas dinner this year.

Served by Katie on Friday night, had a lovely experience of great food, atmosphere and service. Would definitely go again and bring the kids

We were a family group of five adults. Booking was for dinner and drinks. The venue was bust, but Hannah and Lauren were working extremely hard. They couldn't have done more to make our meal an enjoyable one. Very attentive despite being the only members of staff covering the bar, food ordering and table service. Many other hospitality venues need staff as good as Hannah and Lauren. Food was tasty and arrived in good time. Lots of selections.

I am writing to share some feedback regarding a troubling experience my group and I had during our visit to your establishment on the evening of September 13th, 2024, around 9 PM. After a mistake was made with our order, we politely asked to speak with the manager to resolve the issue. The staff member who was handling our order informed us that she was the manager. However, instead of addressing our concerns in a constructive and courteous manner, she seemed more intent on proving that we were at fault. This approach made us feel uncomfortable and unappreciated as customers. Before she returned with the corrected order, we observed her going into the kitchen, which raised concerns about what might be happening with our food. This, coupled with her continued rude demeanor and ironic smiles when she finally brought the food to our table, left us feeling uneasy. As a result, we decided not to touch our food. This experience was quite unsettling, especially given your establishment's generally positive reputation. I wanted to bring this to your attention because I believe it is important for management to be aware of how such situations are handled by staff, particularly those in leadership roles. We hope this was an isolated incident, and that you will take steps to ensure that all customers receive respectful and professional service in the future. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I would appreciate any follow-up on this matter and hope for a better experience on our next visit.

It's probably the only place for locals to eat out, but unfortunately neither food nor service is good. I would definitely avoid this pub unless your really can't wait for a better place to go to. And definitely do not try the Sunday roast unless you're completely drunk.

Fantastic place for a family meal. We played a selection of board games on offer and enjoyed some great food and drinks. Huge thanks to lovely Lauren who had our daughter’s burger replaced as she is fussy and didn’t like all the toppings. Staff are so kind and helpful. We’ll be back!

Ok so we knew there would be an 45 min wait for lunch from a leaving customer and the bar person but we were not in a hurry. I had to clean our table myself ..not good but Okay.... The most sad and disappointing was our order of prawn panini x 2 with salad instead of chips after an hour plus wait. What we both received was a panini with a few pieces of lettuce and six or seven small prawns dotted around whith two slices of cucumber and tomato with more torn pieces of lettuce and a couple of strands of onion as the salad. No one was around to complain to either. So... nope do not recommend and neither will we be going back either!

Jess an Em were incredible this afternoon. We ordered food for my toddler, however, when the chips arrived salted the girls instantly offered ro bring some fresh chips for her. They were so attentive throughout our visit, and extremely polite and friendly.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner. Staff, especially Jess, worked hard to make the pub somewhere to come back too.

Great food and service from friendly staff, and the manager went above and beyond to make sure my allergy was catered for. Lovely place to come with friends and family, and dog friendly too!

Thought I'd try this pub with the family as its not far from us. Ordered on the app, was impressed with the menu choices... The nachos starter came out with tortilla chips which looked like the left overs of a crisp bag, no spring onion or 'southern gravy' stated on the menu. The kids mains came out with cold beans, I don't believe they ever were heated up they were that cold. The chicken dippers were very over cooked to the point they were crunchy. The crispy chicken ciabatta would of been lovely if the bread wasn't rock solid/stale The waitress kept apologising, she brought us new beans for the kids and they were happy enough. Wouldn't go back, it's a shame as the menu is appealing.

Awful. Looked for an Ember Inn close to Potters Bar and found the Ridgeway Tavern. Asked for well done steak and ended up with cremated steak. Was totally black, burnt and flaking. Couldn't cut or chew. Won't be going back.

We had lunch at The Ridgeway Tavern. Great relaxed atmosphere, service was very accommodating for a late arrival in our party and for my 8year olds food requests. All staff were very friendly, and food was spot on. Highly recommended.

Place is a little tired. Food is not as good as other ember inns. Given a choice I would go to the Gryphon in Grange Park. Ordered same items as per the Gryphon, but not anywhere as good. We had a long wait for our food too despite there being no one else in the pub ordering food. Mid afternoon on a Monday was very quiet, so its possible the chef was taking his break. . No atmosphere to speak of. The staff are very friendly though. But I wouldn't go back.

The chicken burger was succulent and tasty. I came here for the first time to meet my friend and it was a lovely atmosphere.

Food is absolutely horrible. Meat is hard and overcooked both the steak and the burger. Burger buns also are hard and over roasted.
