New. Pub for me good night there

Called in for a meal while out for a walk. Excellent value 2 meals and 2 soft drinks plus one tea under £21. Could have also had deserts at just £4 each....maybe next time.

Sunday lunch family gathering. Lunch was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. Staff very helpful, Very friendly. Will hopefully visit again.

Stopped & had lunch yesterday loads of food quantity was there,, but quality of the beef was thick like old leather. no taste at all went to pay lad didn't even ask us if we enjoyed meal , lf he had I would not be writing this I would of told him .

Reason no no stars on food as I haven't had any food from this establishment yet onky drinks

Bussin - got the Worthingtons cream ale, highly recommend, also get the steak fries or meat pie, 10/10

Excellent pint of real ale brewed in Aberdeen. Another ale also available, brewed in Trefforest. A few too many screens for me in the pub, but the beer garden is great. Friendly staff and locals.

Nice pub with good atmosphere and lovely staff , food menu looks varied but simple-proper good pub grub. There are facilities like pool , darts , jukebox and many others. The beer garden terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy your pint. Good prices overall on beers and generally a cool local. Tried the Guinness for the first time and have to say a lovely pour very nice midweek a good chill vibe , still a great pub I would reccomend.

Convenient to the station. A good choice of food at great prices. My husband enjoyed the breakfast . Well presented and a great variety.

Disappointing Sunday lunch. Had been once before and loved it but not so great today. Great variety of veg but the beef was a bit tough. Dessert (crumble) was burnt and inedible. Very hard and couldn't get the spoon through it. Told the waitress who said 'sorry' !

Nice pub. The design and interior is nice and modern, has a lovely wooden bar. Staff are nice and helpful. The food is tasty and well-priced. I have found a new haunt for myself in-between classes😁❤ It is pretty much right next to Trefforest train station and is very close to bus stops.

Great no fuss breakfast, done as it should be to cure a hangover caused by the Rickards the night before! Great local pub with always a mix of characters.

Just had a breakfast here with a friend on Monday and the portion was great, price is great, food was best I’ve had also the girl working behind the counter. Who served us was very welcoming and so friendly.

Burger, chips and a pint for under a tenner. Friendly bar staff and locals. Check out the Digger's Gold ale.

A nice pint good choice of ciders, one of the best beers gardens around great when the sun goes down to and they get the fire pit out to. Always a good laugh up there. A classic pub.

Menu has loads of options, even for vegans. Food is served hot and fresh. Drinks and food are so reasonable. Dog friendly inside and out, beer garden on the roof. Loads of seating too. Love it here!

We rarely eat local and felt like we should be supporting local business. After ordering and waiting for food for 50 minutes I ventured back to the bar to ask, only to be completely ignored by my server she instead served a regular that shoved money in her face, should have asked who was next. After asking me what I ordered again and guessing wrongly, she went to the kitchen to check. It turns out she had forgotten to take our order to the kitchen (wasn't busy) and told us we would have to wait another 30 minutes. Almost an hour and a half after placing the order. I of course asked for a refund and went around the corner for a pizza that was ordered and ready in 10 minutes. What a let down and a massive shame. I won't be returning 😔

Great place to go for a quiet drink or for a large group of you as there is plenty of room to sit inside and out.

This is probably the best pub in the Pontypridd area keep it going (Nugget)

Disappointing service, and unfortunately not the first time left waiting considerable time for so called "table service". Spoke to the bar staff briefly, and was told to sit outside where our drinks order will be taken. After quite a lengthy wait we gave up and left without being served. This is the second time we have a similar experience here, but this time the place was hardly busy, there was virtually nobody there. In the current climate, it surprises me that pubs can be so off the mark when surely every pound counts at the moment.

Food really good, but surrounding could be updated.

Takes money for the pool table, but the thing is wrecked and barely playable. No chalk, 1 broken cue.

Not impressed, dirty table, veg cold , roasties tasted only of grease, yorkshire pudding nice as was the gravy, everything thing else dreadful, wont be going back.

Visited recently with my wife, we intended to dine but food is only available in the afternoon at present. The pub has recently had a bit of a makeover and looks very nice. I understand from the landlord a restaurant will be opened in the coming months serving evening meals. Prices are ver reasonable, my only disappointment was in the lack of choice of a good cask ale but that is my personal choice.

We visited here for a belated Christmas catch up yesterday and the Sunday lunch was to die for. Service was good and we all enjoyed greatly. Thank you, we can’t wait to visit again soon.

This place is much the same as the Pic N Shovel(I think the Otley Arms is also run by the same owner, who's a top bloke if im correct). This too never fails to satify the customer, it always has been a lovely cozy place with a warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. The food and drink is second to none the prices are more than affordable and the quality is also of a very high standard. Alternatively, if you do like a beer whilst watching some sports on a big screen then you'll be happy to know that some lagers are available at around £2.50 a pint!. For a pub to charge that given It's 2020 and alcohol prices are increasing fast, is amazing, £2.50!? that's Brilliantly Cheap for a quality pint!. 👍

Working locally, and not really knowing the area, this was my first port of call. It is a little "worn" and could do with a lick of paint, but for service and food i could not be faulted. The breakfast was filling and enjoyable. We will be calling back to replenish our bodily reserves.

The decor in this pub is very run-down and it has a weird smell to it. The food here is ok and the drink prices are reasonable.

Had a Sunday dinner at the Rickards, saw a post on FB, and off we went, enjoyed it, waiting time = good, food, tasty, I'll elaborate. The veg cooked just right, came in seperare container's, which I like, turkey, not dry or tough, as it should be. Gravy = good. Will definitely visit again. 😁😁.

Love this pub! Such a friendly homely atmosphere. The rood tereace is my favourite part. They had the fire pit going. It feels so homely, like having drinks in your own home or garden

Visited for a family brunch. Food was ok. Service pleasant. The decor and general cleanliness of the place needs a good spruce up. Looking very dated and worn. A bit of money put back into the place could make a big improvement.

Lunch always great here but the lemon cheese cake was really disappointing. Came in a bowl with really runny topping and base was so hard I couldn't get my spoon through it.

Unfortunately the sister pub of the Rickards, the Otley Arms doesn't serve Sunday dinner all day, but the Rickards does ! The food was perfectly good, but the decor and ambience was well below that of the Otley.
