The Rice Bowl, Chinese Restaurant in Manchester

Really nice place, went when it was fairly quiet and the service was very quick. The staff all very friendly and the food from the set menu was really nice. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

No rice came with our order. Rang them back and he argued saying we didn’t order it. Thai curry was awful and hot and sour was inedible Never again

Ordered chicken chow mein, was loads of onions in. Ordered battered chicken in orange sauce but got battered chicken in extremely tangy lemon sauce which has made me seriously ill, Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and the sauce was very strong and there was hardly any chicken in it, which has made my friend very ill aswell. DON'T ORDERED ANYTHING FROM HERE.

We rang and rang to try to get a refund for an order on the app which was never processed. They put the phone down and didnt provide order or refund. Nightmare poor service don't use them again!!!!!!

Seriously have you cooked Chinese food before today? The char Sui pork is tinned ham cubes and my seaweed is liberally coated in SUGAR crystals ? Sugar??? Singapore vermicelli is overly spicy coated as it was in some kind of spicy powder. Two tiny florets of broccoli and the mushroom slices added together wouldn’t have made one mushroom - so just onion and carrot really. You did manage to make an edible (free) prawn cracker. Just moved to this area - not a good benchmark for takeaways so far. Very disappointed in this meal.

Christmas eve ,spent over £40 ,waited 2 and a half hours and never received food, even though it was showing as delivered on just eat. Tried numerous times to get through on phone and by this time it was 11:00pm.My family and I went to bed with nothing to eat and it totally ruined our xmas eve . Absolute disgrace and they don't deserve custom.

Rang 20 minutes after the estimated time of arrival which had already been over an hour, was rudely told “it’s on its way” a further 50 minutes and still nothing! Tried calling restaurant again but it just went straight to voicemail. Terrible service. 2 hours and 30 minutes later and still nothing! Please don’t give these people your money.

Bland, bland, bland. Chicken was rubbery. Fried rice was dry. Delivery driver asked me to come to the car, because it was raining haha. Don't bother!

All food was cold, chips were clearly warmed up & so hard they were inedible. Sweet & sour sauce was just coloured water. There was hardly any chicken in the chicken fried rice & the rice was cold & bland. Noodles were cold & rubbery, more like elastic bands than noodles. Prawn crackers were stale. Contacted restaurant & only driver was available. Promised manager would call back but never did. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!

It took them 3 hours to deliver our order after promising 40 t0 60 minutes......Rang them after an hour and a half...Response; "It'll be 10 minutes" .Rang after 2 hours " So sorry, it'll be 20 minutes"...It arrived.....I'm not kidding, it was awful- Cold, dripping in oil....Don't waste your money

Poor service and couldn't care less attitude. Took order, agreed 90 mins wait time as busy but then advised they had cancelled order after we chased up after 100 mins as couldn't facilitate order (For 2 people).Asked to speak to manager and call was disconnected.

I don't know where to start. Nearly 2 hour's delivery time. All starters were bland, chewy and cold. The mains were horrendous. All grey coloured food that my dog would turn it's nose up at. Even the prawn crackers are tasteless. I really can't get over how colourless, tasteless and souless this food is. Dumplings chewy and tasteless, Salt and pepper chicken was like chewing on rubber and the special fried rice was grey coloured and tasteless NEVER EVER AGAIN........my rating 0.5/10

It might be difficult for people with disabilities to get inside but I am sure there would be a way in for them. The restaurant is clean and inviting and the menu has something for everybody. Staff are friendly and look after you all the way.

They have a set menu for £13.95. So far so good, but unless you want a spring roll and chicken everything is extra. What's all that about? There are more things on the set menu that have a surcharge than those that don't.. Why not have a set menu at £15.95 with a discount on some dishes? It's no more absurd than having a fixed price menu where everything is extra.

Can’t believe this food was sent out for human consumption. The chips looked like they were a day old and really greasy. The mixed starter was awful. Worst Chinese I have ever had. Avoid. Had better pot noodles. It was that bad 😡😡😡

Salt and pepper crispy beef was burnt disappointed won’t order again no beef just crispy burnt bread crumbs

A good Chinese restaurant if you like standard westernised chinese and not more ethnic specialities you find elswhere in the city centre. Service usually good but can be slower when very busy. Restaurant tends to attract shoppers rather than foodies.

I understood that red wine had become a big thing with Chinese food. Heck, they produce it in China now, and lucky red wine is a common gift. And I know I could have just had China tea, but both the merlot and the Shiraz lacked quality; a shame as the food was excellent - all of it.

Had an evening meal here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it so as we were In Manchester again decided to try their dinner time menu. We have to say that this is great food for the price and a lovely setting with great service. Cannot see anyone getting better food at a reasonable price.

Great meal, extremely attentive and friendly staff. Delicious selection basket of dim sum to share is a great introduction to dim sum if you’ve not tried it before.

I had the urge for a Chinese meal and The Rice Bowl was on the way back to my hotel so I decided to give it a go. The restaurant is down two flights of stairs and is nicely furnished. Staff are friendly and very good. The menu is a great mix of traditional Chinese restaurant food and many other original offerings. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited. My meal was delicious, generously portioned and I will certainly be going back for more. A real gem.

been going here years i think its new owner but the food is still great fast delivery service too. greta

We have ordered from here for many years and to be honest it can be a bit hit and miss. Lately it has been quite good, not sure if it's changed hands recently.

Food was decent, chose here as it was the nearest place we could get the sweet and sour bean curd I was in the menu (although when I picked up the food it turned out to be tofu puffs instead). Would probably eat here again.

Been several times over the weeks and had a bit and try of most things but on Sunday had salt and pepper chicken wings. Delicious very meaty and extremely tasty got 8 in a serving with peppers and onions, also got chips n fried rice to be shared with hubby and curry sauce, you get ample chips and ample rice. You can order in shop, over the phone, on the Internet and you can also have delivery if you've not tried here then give them a go especially the wings.

We ordered from here the other night and was left really disappointed. The order took 40 mins to arrive, which we expected. We had duck pancakes to start and the duck wad extremely dry and tasteless and the hoisin sauce tasted awful. The beef curry was just average.

Terrific food, excellent and varied menu and prompt and efficient delivery. Excellent Value for money and huge portions. We usually have sufficient for a second meal the following day. Food delicious.
