Delicious halal east/south east asian food that is a delightful change of pace to the usual cuisine found in curry mile. Quick service and friendly staff. This is a gold mine of dishes that is all worth a try.

I recently ordered food from the Buddha express which is Halal Chinese restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were on point, the portions were generous, and the delivery was prompt. I highly recommend trying their dishes specially their steaming platter, singapore rice, beef hofan and chicken manchurian you won't be disappointed!

Went in to place and order , whilst stood waiting for some service , one of the kitchen staff was cleaning the back of the kitchen . He was the only one present , he made eye contact but didn’t come forwards to assist . He just carried on cleaning and ignored us. As we waited patiently for someone to come serve us we watched this man clean and it was awful what we saw. He wiped and washed surfaces with one cloth , including the floor and then he washed out a take away tub with the same water he used to wash the cloth and then wiped it with toilet roll which he picked off the shelf nearby and then proceeded to place this tub on the shelf with other ‘clean’ tub’s . I suppose these are what they will be using to put orders into . With disgust we walked out . Will I eat here again … heck no!!

Order never arrived, eventually got through to after trying 8 times and woman was rude and said order is on its way. Called back at the point after ordering 2 hours ago with no sight of the driver and she answered the phone and left it off the hook so the line was busy and couldn’t get through. Avoid!

Ordered from here many times. Food has always been of great quality and delicious. Service time isn't bad but it's always been quiet when we visited. Cash only which is sometimes inconvenient, but you can book online and one time i bank transferred to them.

Terrible food. Nothing like Chinese, curry powder added in stir fry and soup taste horrible stale chicken and vinegar. Salt and pepper chicken loaded with salt and oil. Terrible Terrible

This place is amazing, the Har Gau is very high quality as is the Sui Mai and everything is Halal.

Ordered Singapore Fried Rice, spring rolls and those firecracker chicken wings. I wanted extra spicy and yes it was very spicy (that’s an option you can choose). Lovely food, especially the rice, delicious.

i go in person and get takeaway. The food is always perfectly delicious and skillfully made, the staff was super friendly and enthusiastic. The reviews are not representative of the food, though i did not get it delievered like others. Will come again 100%

My All time favourite dish is the Singapore style fried rice,a must try dish..the homemade rolls and the steaming plater.. the staff is also very kind😍 Over all great taste and will recommend it if you want to try authentic Chinese food!👍

I've ordered from here a few times, I always order the same thing; chicken chow mein. The first time I was impressed, it was a little dry but tasted great, but I'd never been somewhere that doesn't fill the packaging before? Second time, super greasy and less tasty. This time, the noodles were wet? Not like they'd been left to soften and then not stir fried long enough or at all? If was just wet and bland and I was disappointed. I will likely not order from here again given the inconsistency of the dishes. This time I also ordered some beef and ginger dumplings too, they were so so small! And very salty, even without the soy sauce. So yeah, my experience is that it's edible but not tasty food.

If I could give it less than 1 star I would! Food missing from the order and what did turn up was foul! Absolutely disgusting and took hours to arrive! Would not recommended at all!

update: have tried their noodles a few times now (Build Your Own Noodles) and i’m always impressed! always super tasty abd very filling. would recommend their Cantonese sauce for the noodles! actually so pleasantly surprised by the food, given the review ratings here. the egg fried rice was good, more on the very soy type of fried rice than the less soy, lighter egg fried rice. the lamb ribs were nice too, slightly tart sauce, meaty fatty ribs. i think the food portion here is really good!

Absolute rip off merchants ! Ordered food via the in house app. Paid via a debit card. No food delivered. Tried to resolve over the phone but me with absolute arrogance and zero customer service. This was our go to take away for the last 10 years. There are new owners now with disgusting customer services. Avoid this place

ordered a whole order and one persons whole meal didn't show up despite being payed for. person who answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful, do not recommend at all. overall the worst takeaway experience, loads of better chinese abouts. recommend Master Express for anyone who actually wants to eat tonight

the worst chinese ive ever had, honestly how bad can the chefs be.

Was entertaining a business colleague of mine, who hadn't eaten at Buddha Express previously. All went great guns with being served beautifully tasting Chinese tea with prawn crackers, accompanied with a sweet chilli dip sauce, followed by dim sums (veg spring rolls & veg chao bao) accompanied with chilli oil, followed by amazingly tasty chicken with garlic & chilli with steamed rice. The proprietor Malik and his excellent PR, cooking & serving skills makes it a total 10/10 experience. Go and eat there, to fill your foody senses. You won't regret it! I certainly haven't the many times l have been and entertained business contacts at Buddha Express. It's a hidden GEM! Went earlier tonight. Great chefs so great food accompanied by great service. We had veg spring rolls plus pepper chicken plus crispy need plus chicken garlic chicken with boiled rice. All truly amazing and yet again a joy to go there for great tasting Chinese food. Keep it up Malik & Team.

My main disappointment is that this restaurant advertises itself as authentic and has authentic Chinese dish names on the menu. However, neither of the two (very common Chinese) dishes I ordered were authentic. The 水煮魚(casserole Szechuan style) was nothing like what it’s meant to taste or look like. The fish was also tough and dry. The 麻婆豆腐(mapo tofu) tasted wrong and was missing the minced meat that I ordered and traditionally comes with. I reported this to Uber Eat and was given a 40p refund… I think it’s best to stick with advertising yourself as a halal Chinese takeaway, but don’t advertise using authentic Chinese dish names as that’s rather misleading.

Turned up at 2pm to make order and told “come back in 1 hour” by an Indian worker. No apology, explanation, just “come back 1 hour”. First food place I know of in Uk to have a siesta at lunch time. Terrible service, how they make money I wonder

My expectations were higher but need I say a little disappointed with their food quality.

Delivery was fast even though on just eat it said it will take between 1h-1h20m so came a bit unexpected as I was giving my son a bath.. anyway I've ordered King prawn chow main but it was burnt most of it, missing vegetables no sauce I'll never buy again that's for sure.... They charge you 0.10p for bag, 50p service charge and 3£ delivery that's chicky.

The vegetables were off and inedible l, the food was awful. I tried to call in a polite way but the staff were very rude and put the phone down and refused to pick up afterwards. The people cooking this food haven't the slightest idea about Chinese food or food hygiene or what a fresh vegetable looks like AVOID!

Took an hour and 45 mins to arrive which is not a great start. The sweet and sour was just sour, proper thin sauce not a nice taste to it. We ordered spicy sechwan with aubergine in and they were just huge chunks that had been soaked in oil so super slimy but not cooked through at all, pretty much raw. The sauce tasted of almost nothing and it was cold, no spice at all. Golden garlic with mixed veg was really nice proper tasty would order this again. Unfortunately one nice dish out of 3 isn't good enough. It was so bad we nearly called the restaurant to come and pick it up, regret not doing that now but after nearly 2 hours waiting we couldn't be bothered. Had to make some toast so as not to go to bed hungry (only ate the 1 dish in the end). Not what you expect after paying £28 for take away. Noodles were fine.

Than our order came we ordered a platter, we only got one portion, the guy argued with me saying I only ordered one portion, when I clearly ordered platter which said two pieces each, yet we received only 1 piece each, and it was horrible tasted so rubbery & flavourless we threw it in the bin. The Chowmein was an absolute joke, we ordered the SPICY version it was the blandest, most tasteless dish ever, there was no flavour no veggies, apart from one small piece of green spring onion! Just literally boiled noodles & boiled chicken! I would not even give this food for free!!! The most rudest customer service & abysmal prices & disgusting food. Absolutely awful experience with this takeaway! 2 prawns in the seafood chow mein, and the duck was absolutely vile! Was green and shiny! The staff were very unhelpful and rude! Trading standards really need to look into this takeaway, no idea how it’s still open.

Avoid at all costs! Decided to order on uber eats as they had 50% off deal. Wish I had checked the reviews of this place before ordering. Seems to have the same/similar complaints. Ribs are not advertised as lamb so was shocked to receive them. Dry, no meat content, just bones, batter and fat, no flavour in any of the meat. I ordered 4 dishes to share. The Peking ribs was just awful as described. The Goreng fried rice and Special chow mein looked tasty but again was bland, no taste with dry pieces of meat. The only dish that had flavour was the duck in plum sauce, with most of the flavour coming from the tinned chunks of pineapple, and that says alot. Will not order again and won't be surprised if they closed down soon as takeaways are a luxury treat and people won't be parting their hard want money for this garbage. Do not let the Chinese font/text in the menu decieve you, it is not truly Chinese food and most likely an Asian owner introducing Chinese food to halal consumers

As someone who usually enjoys the food from here I had a terrible experience. I've been a vegan/veggie of 7 years. To receive real chicken instead of their ‘mock chicken’ (I always order mock chicken here - looks the same as real chicken so didn’t even think) is an absolute joke. Our order was clearly a vegetarian/vegan order so getting an item mixed up shouldn’t have even been a problem. I took half a bite into the chicken and realised not only by the taste but saw that horrible stringy texture of real meat. I usually check the inside of vegan chicken to double check but because we have had the vegan chicken from here before I didn’t think anything of it. We called up to tell them and they were extremely rude on the phone and they started laughing - asking us to just ‘re order’ on Deliveroo. Also missing items in order and the rice was clearly not fresh, must’ve been sat there for a few days. Absolute shocking behaviour.

Awful food, uncooked fat on ribs ( which are lamb not pork) no flavour of salt and pepper and smelt like fish. Pieces of gristle and off cuts of dodgy looking meat in the rice. I called to complain and they just said they make 60 portions of rice a day and weren't very interested at all in my complaint, they told me to contact Deliveroo. I would never order from here again, worst Chinese takeaway I've ever received, it all ended up in the bin.

Fast delivery and friendly service. Food was super fresh and the perfect temperature. I'd recommend ordering straight from the restaurant's website rather than just eat etc. To avoid slow delivery from couriers and can be sure the restaurant gets 100% of the profit, rather than a big corporation taking a cut.

We ordered mock chicken and got the real thing, pak choi and got broccoli, two orders of spring rolls and got only one. I called almost immediately and whoever I talked to said she would refund my daughter 'right now'. That was 5 days ago. We won't be ordering from there again.

Amazing food. The food we ordered twice was better than expected. Authentic Chinese noodles a big hit with the kids. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Firstly I will start with the ribs! The smell was rancid, they smelt gone off. They were full of fat no meat on them! And there was no honey glaze its literally syrup poured onto them! They were not ebidle Stale gale!!! Secondly the salt and pepper chips were just salted chips with a few chilly flakes. Undercooked. Thirdly, noodles were dryer than the Sahara desert, no flavor and some were still hard. And they stunk!! Last but not least the salt and pepper chicken peices had zero flavour yet again! Dry! Tough! The best thing about my meal was the 99p Lucozade I got from tesco. Avoid at all costs! Never in my life will I go there again! How these run a business I don't know!!

Worst customer service I've ever had with any takeaway. The lady was so rude and you could tell the other workers were afraid of her. She couldn't admit her own mistake over confusion of what I ordered. (Yup shes one of them ones) not sure if she was having a bad day or what but never seen anyone treat a customer like that before. When I finally left with my food and started eating there was a bit of plastic she left for me which I could've choked on very easily so thanks for that. There is definitely better Chinese places you can go. Avoid at all costs.

I'm surprised with the low rating. The food is good. Almost as good as Chinese food I had in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The only bad meal I had here was the beef ribs. It feels like chewing a crocs. It hurts my teeth and gum.

Surprised at the low rating. This is really good halal East Asian food. Admittedly I have mainly stuck to the create your own box meals (my favourite is the Malaysian Satay) but I’ve been having this for quite some years and it’s never let me down. Fast service and often quick delivery. Sometimes a bit too much oil. Highly recommend the create your own meals

Ordered 2 salt and pepper chickens for £5.50 each. This is what came to my door, probably the worst portion size I have ever seen, especially at the price point. Not only this, but it may well have been the blandest 'snack' I have ever tried. Absolute day light robbery!

Just ordered delivery on their website, said 50mins but came very fast, in 35mins from 1.30pm. Very happy with my beef brisket wonton soup, har kau, and salt and pepper squid. Was glad the squid came in chunks and not rings like some Chinese takeaways do. Tastes good, 5 stars, would 100% order again.

I'm a meat eater but when i order from Buddah i get their tofu dishes which I love love love. I recommend their tofu chow mein and tofu salt and pepper.

So so so so bad. Order ribs, it's basically lamb fat thrown in the fryer. Everything was inedible, including the satay chicken that we couldn't bite through. God know how long that had been in the freezer for before cooking. The quality is so bad.

If I could give it zero stars I would. The ribs were lamb. No meat, just scraps of fat fried. The chicken nearly broke a tooth it was that hard.God knows how old it was. The curry tub was half empty. The crab soup was just seafood sticks chopped up in it. Cost us £30 and we ate none of it, we were starving as well so it's saying something. Just avoid at all costs. Worst takeaway I've ever had in Manchester.

Food taste amazing, staff was very nice too. We ordered 4 mains, 3 sides, 2 appetizers and we only payed £40, they gave us free prawn crackers and wanted to give us free drinks as well. We're very happy, will come back!

So I thought, do you know what... I’ll have a sea food stir fry for my tea tonight. Orders one form this place. Observe picture number 2 This is what I thought I was getting! A nice sea food stir fry, nice bit of colour from the vegetables with a few prawns, squid and scallops, Now observe picture number 1!! This is what I received.. Onions swimming in f*****g soup of sauce with a few prawns, I mean... How the f**k is that a stir fry??? Eh?? I was bloody starving!! Sorry* I actually wasn’t starving, people in Africa are starving. I shouldn’t say that (Apollogies) But yeah, what an absolute joke, it’s not a Chinese I don’t even know what it is 🤷‍♂️ So be careful what you order if you go here, that’s all I can say. Well actually... Just don’t go!!

Really awful quality ingredients used, including really gamey lamb which tasted about 3-4 days old in the Yangzhou fried rice (it’s supposed to be charsiu pork, not lamb). Really generic flavour to all the stir fry dishes, honestly couldn’t tell which box of mush was which. Don’t go here, please do yourself a favour.

Your comments I asked for the food to be moderately spicy, due to my partner not enjoying too much spice. I also asked for the salt and pepper chicken to be extra spicy. I've recieved an inedible meal, too spicy to taste anything, even for myself who enjoys spice. The salt and pepper chicken is more like salty little nuggets, cooked from frozen in the oven then reheated in the microwave when ordered. When ordering a chinese stick with the restaurant you know. Unfortunately my regular one is closed. Waste of money and taste buds. Anyone who says the food was pleasant, lives through the week feasting on pot noodles, fish fingers and smiley faces!

So they didn't get us all the food, when we were collecting. Got home 40 mins away called to let them know and they were being difficult and then the guy say "yeah it's our fault we will pay you back the money". So I thought okay fine sat down to eat half portions and the food was well not close to up to scratch. So when I'm fasting not eaten anything all day and I eat even rubbish food it taste amazing so this food must have been S**t for me not to like it then either. So yeah bad experience. And they have said they will pay me money back but who knows

Absolutely appalled at the service first when collecting they didn't give us all the food then. And we live over 40 mins away. Food quality was low, and then asking the guys for money back on the items missed was difficult. But interns of quality it was just unaccpatable. Usually really like this place but unfortunately probably not going there again.

Was going to complain direct after I had to return to get the soup to go in the noodle soup but they aren't answering so I'll put it here. Ordered via their site for collection in 15 mins - nothing complicated 2x starters, s&p chicken & chips and a king prawn wonton noodle soup. Got there and saw the chaos of the front of house, delivery people and kitchen - I appreciate that circumstances atm are not normal but if you are providing a service then you should make sure you have the capability to do so. The man at the front was deliberately avoiding the eye of anyone entering, even the uber eats people waiting for their orders to go out. My order was still on the till, not been put through to the kitchen 20 mins after ordering. The woman in charge seemed to get a grip and it took another 15 mins to sort. The king prawn torpedos and the war tip were really nice but then we got to the soup & chips. Chips undercooked with v little s&p falvouring them or over them. The soup had been served without the actual soup - just a bowl of tasteless noodles, 8 prawns and a bit of pak choi. NO won ton!! I went back and complained and they took the bowl back off me, put a couple of prawns on the top and gave me a bowl of soup. Still NO won ton!! I did get a greasy bag of prawn crackers as a sorry but quite frankly that was insulting in itself. Soup tasteless, noodles and prawns smelt like they'd been steamed in a swimming pool. Will never go back. It used to be decent but has gone rapidly downhill as other reviews have illustrated. My stomach now feels really off too. Was really looking forward to the scran but will now probably spend the evening in the toilet. As someone else said - just don't bother.

Trying to get a refund of 30 pounds because they never told me that the duck dishes were unavailable. Only told on collection. Didn't take the rest. They offered a refund but nothing has been refunded to date. Contacted just eat, emailed BE and tried to call but no response.

We fancied a Chinese takeaway but it needed to be halal and came across place on JustEat. Food was delivered on time and reasonably priced for a takeaway but there's not much else going for them. Salt and pepper chips were lacking in flavour and they didn't seem to be seasoned in any way. The same with the salt and pepper squid. The tofu and beef dish which was OK but could have done with more meat and the schezwan chicken had no spice. We ordered plain boiled rice to accompany our mains but it was dry and grainy. There was not one single dish was enjoyable, only positive is that their food is all halal if this is a dietary requirement for you.

Came here last night with some friends for a meal, staff were lovely and provided us with a great dining experiance. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive and most inportanly the food was delicious with good sized portions and very good pricing. Starters were cooked to perfection and mains were very good big sized portions so anything that was left over the staff packed for us to take home. Had a great evening and i will be going back again , if your looking for great chinese food this is your place . Thanks to the staff for a wonderful evening x

Great place highly recomand for eating out

I ordered a lamb fried rice today and the lamb tasted awful and rotten . It tasted like it had gone off. There was no way I could eat the food. I rang the Resturant manger and she was very rude on the phone. She didn’t even show apologize. She shouted at me and said “what do you want me to do about it”. “I cannot do anything about it” :o I was shocked with the way she spoke to me. I was trying to explain to her that the lamb wasn’t fresh and that it tasted rotten but she hung up the phone on me. Business like this need to learn how to treat loyal customers. I won’t recommend anyone to buy from this Resturant. Their food and customer service is 0/100. AWFUL DISGUSTING

Ordered soup, ribs and a chicken main. The ribs were awful...worse ribs i've ever had swimming in oil...the soup was good but again the chicken main wasn't that good. Very poor Chinese..delivery was fast but the food wasn't much good. wouldn't order again

Would give this no stars if possible, should have checked reviews before ordering the cold miniature portion sized takeaway that took 10 years to deliver from down the road. Bad customer service, was offered free chicken spring rolls but licking a stamp would be tastier.

Fisrtly, when my food arrived the soup was spilled in the bag and all over the rest of my food. Then I call them and the lady said she wouldnt send me anything else even though my lunch was ruined. The food I managed to salvage from my lunch was then just awful. At first I thought that there were mushrooms in the food but it was just the incredibly fatty beef - not soft fat but almost cartilidge thick opaque fat which should have been trimmed off before cooking. on top of this the noodles were clearly microwave packet noodles as they had congealed and were still in the shape of a rectangle! Finally, one of my coworkers let me share some of their salt and pepper chips (usually hard to mess up) but they were greasy and flavourless. I will never order from here again - mostly due to the complete lack of customer service and care for the fact i had paid upwards of £10 for a lunch and now have to buy a second lunch to be able to eat :( If anyone fancies a decent chinese head to Noodle House instead - much nicer food and service

Food was awful. The whole place was dirty and the tables were sticky as were the condiments. Looks very disappointing to its pictures. Bathroom was utterly sickening. This place needs a good clean. All the fumes from the cooking have made the whole place sticky and disgusting. Even the lamp shades are filthy. We were excited to try this place out. But the food was awful too. Never going back there again

I don't know what are all those bad reviews about. Just been there and everything was fine: the food, welcoming stuff and portion size. Also didn't have to wait for anything. Recommend this place.

Had the healthy stir fry for 2, was so tastey and almost too much food. Would recommend trying it!

Ordered the foods, was expecting a good homemade Dimsums, Sui Mai tastes disgusting like leftover from weeks ago. The set menus said there will be Xiao Lung Bao , but there isn’t any no confirmation made from the seller. It was a really disappointing experience.

We regularly order takeaway from here and the food is always excellent. There are lots of great vegetarian options with loads of different interesting tofu, a great amount of choice, and the noodles and spring rolls are delicious. Really surprised to see all the negative reviews on here as we love it, and anyone I've encountered who's ever eaten there agrees it's one of the best Chinese's in Manchester

I have worked at this place for few months as delivery driver the manager called Malik was so arrogant and rude. They treat their staff like slaves. I will not recommend any one to work with them.👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

Pay online but they say didn't got my payment.. I order by phone,after a minute a got mesage to pay online just by clicking the link. So do i just click n pay. But when the driver coming he said,there is no notice my payment at they system. And i told to calling them to asking.. but the answer the same no payment.. i show my payment i have screenshot my payment also show my account bank that has payyee to the budha express.. but they still ressist not giving the food.. actually today why i'm order online because i'm sick that i can't going to that place. But they said i must come to budha express. Why i need to order delivery if i can come...??????lucky i call my husband.. but after my husband come they said now they got the notice payment..(what the hell)its your fault.. your system really bad.. why you make costumer upset.. even they appologized especially the driver after that.. but at least i'm still want give this review to make they learn how to serve the costumer..

Ordered a wonton noodle soup and prawn toast on deliveroo , order came 10 mins late and was not prawn toast.... 2 items they cant get even get right and the wonton soup was soupless and not the best, first time ordering and the last

Ordered from here tonight as have used many times before however on opening our order it was found to be wrong ,on ringing back to complain was told they would send out what we ordered. When this was delivered we was charged for the new meal as well as the mistake they made , will never use them again as i like to eat qhat i ordered not a lucky dip

Comida absolutamente desagradable. No ordene desde aquí, la peor comida y todo el servicio que jamás haya experimentado. Es caro y me sorprendió tanto la calidad como las porciones pequeñas. El pato crujiente sabía a carne de salchicha, seca y dura, ni siquiera creo que fuera un pato real. Frijol negro como Bisto gravey. La peor experiencia de todos, comida absolutamente desagradable. Al realizar el pedido, el personal no estaba interesado y emitía vibraciones negativas. ¡NUNCA ordenaré de Buddha Express de nuevo! Asqueroso
