Absolutely wonderful, a first visit but certainly not the last. Best pizza I’ve had in about 10 years. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff. One of the best places to eat in Tywyn by far. Fabulous.

Friday night, last night of our trip away. We popped in earlier in the week but were advised the food is only evenings and at the weekend. Boy was it worth the wait. Beautiful pizzas, great service, lovely folk that are running it. Nothing was too much trouble, fab atmosphere. Can't wait to come back x

Pizzas are generally a bit samey… these aren’t! Wonderful pizza, great service and delicious drinks. They went out of the way to make us welcome and to cater for our needs

Cocktails were fabulous always a good choice!! Pizzas are all homemade and taste great. We love to visit as we have such a friendly welcome. It's a great place in the sunshine as out the back there is a lovely seating area but also when it's cold the wood fire is so welcome! We highly recommend as a place to visit

We had a lovely, relaxing evening sitting in the courtyard garden to the rear of the restaurant. The owners were absolutely charming and attentive. The pizzas were nice with plenty of toppings and I was able to have a Gluten Free pizza. The courtyard was very 'rustic' and probably needed an update.

Had a couple of takeaway pizzas here. Good quality ingredients, tasty. Would go back again. Looks like they have some outdoor seating too, though didn’t try it.

A rare gem in a world of Post covid, where service has gone for a burton These guys are going that extra mile and bucking the trend. Highly recommend the food the beer the destination Well done Chris Alisha and all the team.

This was a lovely find on our holiday. We sat outside at the back, which was a real sun trap. The owner/staff were really friendly. Food was very good. Had a chicken burger and a bean burger. Fries really crispy and hot.

Really lovely place - had a few drinks in the outdoor but round the back then ate inside. Shared 4 pizza & 3 chips between six of us - food was delicious & good sized portions. Beer was cold & a few good options.

Arrived 7pm for a weekend away starving - planned on having a Chinese but was cash only and we hadn’t got a bank card with us to draw any out 🙄 we spotted this place over the road and so glad we did - asked if they did takeaway pizza as well as dine in - they did! We had a pint while we waited - the cider on draft was 👌🏼 Friendly staff and pizza was lovely had a margarita and the Mexican special of the week pizza both devoured! We will be back to try the burgers next time

Had a lovely windswept walk from Aberdovey. Virtually nothing open and it was a godsend to find The Retreat, with it’s friendly staff. We had, chips, cheesy chips and rounds of bread and butter to keep us going. Good draft beer, all well deserved!!! Everyone around us were being served delicious looking burgers, pizzas and cocktails. Definitely worth the walk. No pictures as we scoffed the lot! Thank you.

We booked a table for 4 plus dog on Good Friday afternoon. Lucky we did book it was packed full , the mid afternoon rush. We asked if we coild sit in the beach hut outside rather than the table they had allotted to us inside. They said yes. We had good food , pizzas were delecious, burgers scruptious, and great beer and wine in a lovely setting with great service. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves and the food. We are definately going again. a little gem.

Called in here at the end of a walk with my teen son. Was previously the Salt March Cafe and Bar (see listing on Tripadvisor). Courteous service. Decor similar to before. My son had a lemonade and pain au chocolate. I had a black coffee and home made teacake. The teacake, when toasted up, was really tasty. A little warm up of the pain au choc might have also been nice. Good vibe, dog friendly (we don't have one but others called in with dogs). Would call again.

Great staff - very helpful & friendly, fab event, really good atmosphere - the gig was amazing & would really like to book here to stay in the future. It was good that, although the place was packed, you didn't have to wait to be served. Ty Glyndwr: diolch o galon

Staying nearby we decided to pop into one of our nearby local pubs and to our delight we found it very friendly and welcoming my wife and I can highly recommend it if you are considering dropping in

My first experience of Phoenix. This is a brilliant place, on the long Bangor High Street, but slightly hidden, being set back from the road. It has a large interior with amazing decorations. Many different styles of seating to suit different use expectations. The coffee is excellent. The food we had was very good - Farmhouse Pizza, and chicken kebab with a very tasty Turkish style mixed salad and rice. The service very friendly and the price was very reasonable, and in my view is excellent value. I saw they do a lot of Turkish style cakes and sweets - for my next visit. This is a good place to get food on Sunday when most of Bangor is closed. It is also a good place for a private chat or gathering and you do not want lots of background noise. It has high chairs and some toys for young children. I hear they hope to get a licence to sell wines and develop a more bistro style offering, which will be very welcome in Bangor.
