Stayed and ate here after escaping from a terrible nearby campsite. The room was cheap for such short notice and was surprisingly posh, although the absence of a wardrobe was a bit annoying. As to the food, it's fine for what it is. There's a fairly limited set menu and the portions aren't massive by Welsh standards, but it was all very well done and the service was quick and efficient. A good budget choice.

We ate here whilst staying in the attached caravan park. The food was excellent with friendly staff. We arrived quite late but nothing was too much. We arrived on a free wine and cheese tasting evening and even the disgusting behaviour of a party of Liverpudlians didn’t ruin our experience. Highly recommended.

I went here for boxing day lunch with my family and I was horrified. I've never had such poor quiality food served to us. The veg was overcooked, and the meat was disgusting, like leftover christmas lunch from the day before. We complained and they offered to take one meal off the bill, poor considering there was 7 of us and none of us could eat the food, that was shocking.

Went for an evening meal with my husband, sister and brother in law. We all had meals from the "2 for £15" menu. Everything came piping hot and tasted great. The men had the meat and potato pie which came as a generous slice from a large pie. My sister had the Cumberland sausage and I had the fish. All were good portions and my brother in law had to finish our meals for us! Will definitely be returning.

We stayed here one night, it is a very old place with ornate walls and old fire places, the staff were very friendly and helpful, it had a good feeling. The breakfast was plentiful. Plenty of parking, our room was large with a decent size bathroom, there are lots of good walks around the area.

We had dinner with friends, the service was very friendly but the food was pretty slow at arriving at our table. The food was good but the coffee left a lot to be desired. The cost was reasonable enough but we did only have a main course, no starter or pudding. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again unless I happened to be staying in a caravan on the site.

I visited with family a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed wonderful food, not too expensive either. Location is wonderful and very peaceful, the children could play at the park safely in view from the restaurant too.

We have visited this restaurant on a few occasions over the years - mainly for Sunday lunch. On every single occasion- the food has been outstanding- and I can't say this about many places! It's child friendly without being OTT and children's menu is also good. Beef roast dinner is fabulous and sticky toffee pudding outstanding!! Do not be deceived by the fancy expensive restaurants nearby- this is quality and value for money. Just a tip for the waitresses- please bring selection of condiments before the food - it's frustrating having to wait a while for them after food has arrived. However- compliments to the chef- food is fabulous! ! All readers- give it a go!!!

The restaurant isnin an old hall in a wooded luxury caravan park. Beautiful surroundings and quiet. We are local and go regularly for a drink or meal. We have been as a couple and taken our family of adults and children for a celebratory meal. Lovely bar to sit in it you can eatnin the conservatory. There is a small children's indoor play area which is handy and a small outside one too which you can see from the conservatory. The food is lovely and there are special deals each weeknight. Thoroughly enjoy all the meals I have had there

Called at the Woodlands Hall on Friday 29 August with some work colleagues. Had a really nice meal and were looked after extremely well by the staff at the Hall. Thanks for a pleasant evening and I am sure I shall be returning many more times.

A small group of us had our Christmas night out here, The Christmas menu was very limited with regard to choice. The vegetable soup was just warm and very generic tasting, you could not pin point a flavour. The main courses were nicely presented and well cooked although some felt the portions were too small. The entertainment, a singer/guitarist with backing tracks, was ok but there was no dance floor. The service was good and friendly.

My nan and Uncle recently stayed here for a family function taking place nearby. Me and my mum joined them for a meal. The lady was extremely helpful, very friendly without being too interfering. We asked about the history of the building and she was more than happy to share some stories with us. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh! Would definately recommend!!

Very good pub until we were asked to leave because our dogs were ‘barking’ (a maximum of 3 times) after spending nearly 4 hours here we had a lovely experience with people and staff welcoming our dogs until one older lady told us to we had to leave if our dogs were going to bark which was for a very short time at another passer by 🤷‍♀️

Super friendly locals. Myself and my brother (visiting from Australia) spent an excellent evening there. Although we did lose 'the Ashes' on the excellent pool table. Wales 1 Australia 0. But we'll be back to try and level up!

Advertised a gluten free chippy but won't serve gluten free after 7pm, the stuff was rude and couldn't even be bothered to put my food in a bag 😉

Our server struggled to fill the cones and the venue is slightly down at heel but.. Interesting flavour combinations, very tasty ice cream and worth the treat if £3.85 for a single cone

Afternoon tea for two. Mashed up egg sandwiches, sickly shop bought cakes, passable scones served in a gloomy room with somebody's pushchair beside our table. Totally disappointing. Would not recommend.
