Definitely not a 4* in my opinion. Run down and needs a lot of maintenance. Our window was full of damp and mould and we couldn’t even open it. Couldn’t change the thermostat below 23 degrees which was unacceptable as in a room where we were unable to open the window, it soon got very hot! The pressure of the shower was poor and the bathroom needed updating. The room generally was worn and not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Dust and dirt could be found all over. The following morning breakfast was until 11am so we had a lie in due to having a late night and went down to breakfast about 10.20am. Hardly any choice. Just option of white bread and no fresh fruit. I was very disappointed. Coffee was out of a machine in a take away cup. Got back to the room at 10.55am and cleaner started knocking with attitude saying get out as check out is at 11am. I definitely would not stay here ever again as I don’t think it’s worth the money. Positive points : The location is good and convenient. Bed was comfy and I slept well. The only other plus point is that the parking is included so don’t have to pay extortionate rates in London.

I have stayed many times at the Ramada M1 North, however this time the stay was atrocious. I stayed in a family room with my children and husband for four days. There was no heating and at night, the controller would not work. The temperature on the thermostat would read 13 to 14 degree c and never get any warmer. Every time we went to the reception to get someone to come and check, there was only 1 member of staff available so they could not come. After 2 days like this, I managed to get the receptionist to get the maintenance guy to come and check. He looked at the thermostat/controller and agreed the heating was not working. His attitude was such that he clearly could not care any less and fobbed me off with a portable heater which barely heated up one side of the room! My two children, both of whom are under 7 years old were freezing every night and they also had to sleep on the two floor beds. I complained to the manager, Piyush, on the day of checkout. He agreed that it was not great what had happened and promised to contact me. I have not heard from him at all and after trying time after time to call him multiple times, I keep getting told he not working that day and the staff who take the call do not have a clue when he is working! Basically I have been fobbed off! This is really rubbish behaviour and mentality of the staff and would not want to stay here again.

I will never return to this hotel. There was no floor heating in the bathroom, and the room heater wouldn’t go above 14°C—completely unacceptable on a freezing winter day. The staff clearly have no understanding of customer service; it felt like they were running the place with third-world standards. I asked for an iron, and first they said they’d bring one, then later told me irons are only available for premium rooms. What a joke. Avoid this place if you value basic comfort and service.

This hotel is conveniently located towards the end of the M1 so perfect for London including tube connections. The room was large, the bed enormous and comfortable. A few minor gripes: no drinking glasses in the bathroom; I struggled to get a WiFi signal and there was no DAB or even FM signal on my radio. Also, the room only had a couple of plug sockets and these were opposite the bed. Mobile phones, on charge, were not therfore at hand. Minor gripes perhaps. One member of staff behind the bar was wonderful. We ate and had a few drinks. Food was okay and to be honest, I expected to pay more given our location. Another plus was the car park. Whilst the actual route to it seemed strange (thank you sat nav) it only cost a few quid. Again, we are nearly in London: I expected to pay more!!

Worst hotel experience i‘ve had yet. Planned a trip to uk for 5 days and checked in at this hotel. First room had big mold problem (depicted in the bathroom), was not cleaned and we couldnt open the windows nor flush the toilet. After a complaint the staff got me a new hotel room in the executive level which had a little less mold, couldnt close the window now and wasnt cleaned as well and had wine spills in the carpet which were sticky. After complaining again and asking for a clean room the staff told me my last room was the best they could offer and all rooms were like this due to the hotel being old and rain getting inside. Sorry, staff isnt to blame here, but i now have to spontaneously arrange a new hotel today and had a lot of stress, wasted time and driving due to this. If you can, stay away from this place, safe your money, nerves and time. It’s unbelievable that this hotel is still in business. Atleast i got offered a refund after filling out a complaint with some banking details. We‘ll see how stressfree the money will get refunden. Update after 2-3 Years: we never got our money back and the hotel is unresponsive. I‘d avoid this place in any case. If i‘d be a uk citizen i‘d take legal action against this place.

We requested for late checkout at 1pm when we checked in and were assured that it was added to the system. Yet still the cleaners entered in our room while we were sleeping and then we get a call from the reception at 11.30 reminding us of our checkout. When I mentioned that we have late check out the man on the phone just said oh yea and then disconnected the call. There was no apology whatsoever. Will never stay in this hotel again and will advise my friends the same. The fact that I spent nearly £60 for a night I was not expecting this type of service. I would rather spend £100 and stay somewhere were it's going to be worth the money.

we booked a long weekend, arrived a week ago and our large group consists of 84 people and check in was so smooth. The welcome was so well prepared and our room was surprisingly large, the beds were good and clean and sufficient facilities such as kettle, coffee, tea and even an iron and ironing board. Also wifi works fine. Toiletries were adequate and if anything was missing, such as bad plug, they brought it to your room. If there is dissatisfaction among the guests, they try to resolve it, even changing rooms if necessary. The staff were very friendly and helpful, every day when we returned to the hotel we were warmly greeted and welcomed. The food was fine, enough choice and it was tasty. What's also nice is that you get a telephone number for a taxi with a fair rate if you can't walk far to the metro station. Staff and manager care about the guests. You won't regret it. Highly recommended to spend the night here.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel. First, the rooms - the quality of finishing is terrible, everything that is attached with screws falls off. The beds are assembled on our word of honor. There's no point in finding a socket, and the bathroom is built in such a way that no matter how hard you try, you'll still flood it while washing yourself. You also have to be careful because they like to sound the fire alarm at 6 a.m. as a wake-up call. This situation happened to us twice. They explained it with tests. Food - we had breakfast and dinner. While the first ones were flawless, the dinner was a disaster. First we got pasta that had the consistency of mortar, then a raw pork cutlet. Only on the last day did the cook redeem himself and served nuggets, which were quite tasty. Finally, the location - the hotel is very close to the highway, but on the other hand, there is a scrapyard and a vehicle dismantling station right next to it. If someone likes this kind of atmosphere, I recommend it. Overall, the hotel seems to aspire to be middle class, but it clearly has big problems.

The rooms are looking a little tired, the air conditioning does not work which is an issue with some of the rooms as you overlook the railway line and you end up having to leave the window open to accommodate the need for air circulation. First thing to say, staff are lovely. They are always there to reassure you whether you're passing through the lobby, having a drink or dinner. Slightly annoyed as the website does say free parking and even when you get into the lobby, but I had to pay money per night for it to stay. Room is spacious. Only one plug socket though and not even near bed so Id bring a portable one it you have. No fridge which was very unexpected as most hotels have one. Couldn't put any bottles in to keep cold. I guess if you're sensitive to noise, don't stay here as it's right next to a train track and the motorway. This didn't bother us too much but can be noise when trying to relax. Food and drink were fine. Drink was a bit on the expensive side. Food was fine, including breakfast which has a nice little buffet of both hot and cold food.

The breakfast offering was great. It Goes downhill from there. The hotel appears to be set up primarily for users of the motorway, but it is located on the edge of the suburb of Mill Hill. Nearest public transport link is 20 minutes walk along a pretty crappy access lane. We were informed that if we wanted an Uber that they would be allowed access through the lane’s security gate. On the morning of our departure the Uber was denied access. This is just sheer bloody-mindedness not allowing an Uber to pick up from hotel, forcing us to lug our bags in the rain to the security gate. But what it worse is being lied to and being told it would be okay. What Wyndham/Ramada need to do is first, don’t lie to your guests. If you’re unsure, admit it and find out. And secondly, liaise with the security company in charge of the access gate to allow for Ubers to pick up from the hotel reception. Under the current arrangements, this hotel really only works for those who have their own car, and until they deal with the security gate issues, expect to drive many many excess kilometres on the M1. Planning at its worst.

Rooms We found dirty marks on the headboard, bedsheets, wall, towels & bathroom door (photos posted). The telephone in the room had the wrong room number written on it risking us asking for stuff to the wrong room had we asked for room service or other services. My husband is always anxious of letting staff into our room while we are still there and so we didn't report it during our stay, not as we should have to report anything. We expect to be staying in a room without these sorts of issues in the first place. The room also only had 2 plug sockets at the opposite side of the room to the bed, one had the TV plugged into it. There was an extension lead to plug into the other but even with that, it wasn't possible to put a charging mobile phone on a bedside table. I use my mobile phone to help control a medical condition and need it charged and within reach at all times, this caused significant issues overnight. Service We were using 2 rooms (my son didn't tell us what his was like) but when we checked in I had to use my card to pay for our room, while we were sorting my son's room I was asked to hand over my card but wasn't asked to confirm any payments yet £133.98 was taken from it while in the staff members possession. The first I was made aware that this payment had been taken was when my bank sent me a notification about it. In reception, I thought I'd made one payment, I questioned if I had paid for everything, was told I had before we went to find our rooms then when we sat down in them I discovered the 2 payments had been taken. I plan to contact the hotel to ask how someone can take £133.98 from my card without me typing in my PIN number as this is very worrying. Location Easily accessed from the motorway which was great however, I hadn't noticed how close to the railway it was when I booked it. We had the trains running outside our window every few minutes during the day, including into the late evening, there are some trees to help muffle the sound, but I was very glad the trains seemed to stop late at night as they would have kept me awake if they didn't.
