Delicious food from Slim Chickens. Very fast service and exceptional service. Very friendly staff.

It’s quite a disappointing experience. I thought it would be a proper Slim Chickens but it is grouped together with the other options. There are 2 counters but only the caluccio’s one is open and you order anything from that and not the other one. Slim chickens does not offer the full menu, there are no chicken wings on the menu. We ordered sausages and chips from the Harry Ramsden menu. Two sausages were large but had been deep fried and obviously very cheap quality. It’s a shame. The staff are nice and a shout-out to the conscientious lady who was cleaning tables.

Overpriced and empty on a Saturday morning at 11am, where the previous Sainsbury's Cafe operation was always busy. English Breakfast and Black Coffee was expensive at £9.75 and the breakfast was rather small with the thinist bacon and smallest portion of baked beans that I've ever seen. Service was good, and I was offered an extra item when I asked for no egg. I cannot recommend this place, they've taken a once busy supermarket cafe and turned it into a graveyard.

Do yourself a favour don’t bother with this place. You’ll wait for your food even though the restaurant is empty plus it looks nothing like what it should be. GBK burger and chips was a joke and didn’t fill a side plate. Nothing came together and it was like a good relay race but in slow motion. There was a girl supervisor overlooking a new boy that was a nice kid. The supervisor was a complete miserable piece of work. That tried to defend every mistake or complaint. Chips were not cooked but ‘ they were cooked for 8 minutes! ‘ so they must have been ok? Rubbish restaurant rubbish food. Plus they expected the customer to clear the table afterwards! No problem if it was an IKEA subsidised restaurant but this place forgot it.

Been here for breakfast a few times now but can't say it's a good experience. The cooked food is mostly cold and has been sent back a couple of times. Plus, today the egg yokes were solid and cold, the sausage beans and bacon were barely warm. We eat here due to convenience, not the food quality. It's also expensive for what it is.

Mains meals are children's size portions. Smallest piece of cod i've ever seen served, and the fish inside was only 1 cm thick! NO atmosphere, I hope they change this place for something better otherwise i will go next door to the M&S cafe.

Really grim - the Ed’s diner breakfasts are disgustingly greasy and bad quality food. My kid had the fish bites, which was also really greasy! 🤢 I think having just a coffee would be fine or maybe a wrapped sandwich, but don’t get any of the cooked food - it’s really awful. There weren’t many people in here, and the M and S cafe next door was completely packed - now I know why! Fingers crossed they shutdown this place down and replace it with something nicer /more edible.

Won’t be coming back. Very confusing menu choices not a lot of choice if you have not fried dietary needs. Sandwich cabinet empty at 1 on a Saturday. Ham egg & overcooked chips cold. Looks in need of a deep clean and refurb. Toilets really needs sorting.

Electronic menus never work, very limited menu, food when you eventually get it is fine. Can't escape the to loud music and the queue system is chaotic or non existent.

Soulless, plastic and cheap. Come on Sainsbury's, you can do better than this. My advice: Try M&S café next door instead.

Butter chicken basket is amazing been back loads of times for it as kids love it too they have now put price up from £5 to £5.95

Had a breakfast won't have another watched them putting sausages and bacon on with their bare fingers . not very hygienic where was the tongs?? Coffee was nice but overpriced.

Cheap food in a supermarket. It won't break the bank but it's also sometimes disappointing. Hubby ordered the breakfast but they didn't tell him before it arrived that half the ingredients were unavailable. Replaced missing items with a hash brown. Poor show. Water machine out or order too. Staff were trying to be helpful though so that was nice.

We ordered breakfast, and my egg was cold. My toast had butter in the middle, so the edges were dry. Mushrooms were like rubber, so over cooked it was the worst breakfast we paid £19 for. We ate a mouthful and drank our tea...won't be going there again.

Bought a tuna sandwich and a mug of Earl Grey tea. Didn't enjoy the sandwich. Very unimaginative and really not pleasant. Next time I'm going to try a toasted sandwich. I was surprised the cafe is now a Carluccios. The original Sainsbury's restaurant had more choice and better quality food.

It was ok, just not a great selection of food particularly for vegetarian and a bit chaotic at checkout! Then drinks took a long time coming to our table.

It's just ok. Nothing special. If you want something not expensive, this is the place. Not a big choice of food ( the chicken is all right actually). You get what you pay for. Probably better to walk 30 seconds and go to M&S.

Great staff and food prices. It's a bit crowded because of its location inside the mall, but overall, it's the best value for money in terms of fast food chains in the area.

Very chaotic way of serving. Not a great range of "healthier" choices and very limited children's choices. Staff were very friendly.

Don’t visit, it’s dreadful (unless you like stale cake). The tables were not cleaned from their previous occupants,, we found one. There was a lacklustre display of “cakes”, the staff didn’t ask what we wanted and the Victoria sponge felt like it had a crunchy topping (we sent it back for a refund). Ok, it was getting towards the end of the day, but there were still people coming in (I’d suspect they won’t return either). As this is a utilitarian cafe above a supermarket I wasn’t expecting much, but it still let me down. Dear Sainsbury’s, your old cafe was so much better.

A very strange experience. We went up the stairs that advertise a number of restaurant options, to discover that there are no menus (electronic ordering not working) and only one counter open with a long queue. We think you could order food from the only open counter from any of the franchises but nothing was clear. Recommend going somewhere else... we did!

Ordered 2 meals - one of which never arrived. Staff didn't seem to care... had to ask for a refund and only realised when I got home that they only refunded a burger, not a burger meal which is what we had paid for. Shockingly poor customer service!

Not had a good experience he and I've been a couple of times

5 stars for the food and fantastic staff, especially the male manager Rishi. He was really accommodating and great with my daughter. Only giving 4 stars because there are redundant touch screen menu/ ordering machines

I visited this restaurant twice and both times have left with a full belly and a warm feeling. The food although priced on the higher end is definitely worth for the portion size and quality. The atmosphere is very welcoming (from my experience) with the Mauritian manger Rishi always so friendly and lovely, really appreciate his tend to customer and welcoming smile with friendly chatter as if we known each other for a while. Giving 5 stars but would like to the touch screens working. Also I must say Rishi is the reason I keep coming back.

Menu has been cut right back (and there wasnt much previously). No veggie or vegan options. Really poor. Hardly anything in the fridges

Nice transformation. But only 1 and a half sausages on a breakfast roll. How tight is that. Surely for the price you could get 2 sausages. Better deal us definitely the basic cooked breakfast

I've had ham egg and chips for £6.95 that's a great price and it was very good. Staff are friendly, place is clean.

Toooooo expensive!!!!!!!!! In the images it’s showing only £5 for breakfast but it’s £7.50 and I have took one burger it’s cost is £7.50 not worth it completely disappointed….

On our way to Heathrow to pick up our daughter due to her flight delay we had some time to kill. We decided to pop in to the Restaurant Hub at London Colney. The food was cooked fresh and was excellent, served by very friendly attentive staff. Our thanks to Omar and Rishi for a very pleasant experience 10 out of 10.

Its newish but doesn't cater for gluten free. I have coeliac so could only have a coffee nothing to eat.

My husband's teapot had big crack down it. Got another teapot but staff need to check what they are giving customers.

A little clinical in its atmosphere. Very few staff on duty resulting in tables not being cleared after use. It needs to sharpen up as it's in competition M&S own cafe right next door.

Food was ok they had run out of my first choice of meal. Staff were polite and friendly.

Convenient but very busy and not great for vegetarian food

This is the first time I had been in the hub. I ordered a latte, toast and porridge. The Latte was so poor and tasteless I had to leave it after 2 sips (the second one was to confirm that I hadnt imagines how bad it was) and get a coffee later in my journey. The porridge was served in the tub (so effectively heated in microwave and handed over as-is, so much for presentation) it lacked flavour and consistency, and then the toast....How can you spoil toast? Well they did, it came already buttered (never a good sign) but the butter was invisible. It was was soggy as if it had been in a microwave? Never again. The original restaurants were so much better

I ordered the all day breakfast. Unfortunately everything was overcooked... the egg and sausage in particular. However the staff were very busy and were pleasant and helpful. I'd still go back... just might only get a toasties next time as they looked lovely!

Hi, so nice to see restaurant open , good concept having 5 great named eatery in one place, but shame that self food ordering screen they didn't work today ! After studying the monitors by the till and checking with the staff I was disappointed to find you actually only offer a VERY limited food , not the full range I have seen from the online menu at these retailers . We ordered lunch from Ed's diner menu today the food was basic burger and fries not our first choice but the sausages from the breakfast meals was very tasty. Is a real shame that you don't offer the full Eds menu as I was looking forward to try the other fancy burgers and waffle fries ! The staff was very helpful assisting us to choose what's on offer today .

I went with my family and was greeted with an amazing cafe with beautiful decorations. The waiter quickly found us somewhere to sit and we instantly felt right at home. The food was absolutely perfect and it tantalised my taste buds. I couldn't ask for anything else.

A very pleasant, inexpensive lunch .

The reason for my rating is solely on the rudeness we experienced with Julia (supervisor). She argued with me when I told her that the fries did not taste nice. She said that no other person has complained and there's nothing wrong with them. She refused to replace them and threw them away without an offer of a refund! The rest of the staff are brilliant, especially Dillon! I'm confused as to how a teen worker has excellent customer service skills but the older supervisor is awfully rude?

When you go out for something to eat, you expect to be served at the same time,not individually,on par with motorway services food.will not be going back.,do home delivery 's get priority???, over walk up customers.

The price of Harry Ramadan fish and chips has suddenly increased from £6 for a small portion to £7.95 in just 1 week! That’s an increase of 32.5%! I know inflation is high, but this is ridiculous! I was also charged 75p extra for the tartar sauce, this was free last week. Also, there was no vinegar available. A fish and chip shop without vinegar!!!! Last week, Ed’s breakfast was out of sausages and bacon! They’re positioned on top of a well stocked supermarket! Poor quality set-up, bad service so we won’t be visiting again! Thank god for the Costa Coffee at the other end as an alternative!

It is a place where you can eat quietly and choose from a varied range of food and refreshing drinks.

Very impressed with our first visit to this Hub. The menu choice was amazing and the food we chose from Slims (chicken burgers and chips) were freshly cooked and served quickly. Tried the milkshakes and they were great too. As it’s new the ordering process is a bit different- but not an issue. The only annoyance was the loud beeping of the lift, but for a fast, delicious and affordable meal in a convenient location it ticks all the boxes - Definitely recommended if you need a quick break from the motorway misery of the M25 and want something better than a service station

Eds Easy Diner - Stopped off twice during the past few weeks due to convenience. Reasonably priced and service was good but on both occasions the breakfast was lukewarm. The place lacked any atmosphere a bit like motorway services. Lift out of service on both visits so if you have a disability the stairs may be an issue.

Very good value. Fish and chips was very good. Good fish and good chips. Sausage and chips was good. Minor grumble, I ordered sausage and chips with two extra eggs. There was only one charge on the receipt but it was called "Griddled Eggs" plural so I assumed that one order included two or more eggs. Only egg one arrived. When I queried, I was told that "Griddled Eggs" only included one egg. The item name should be changed to "Griddled Egg" singular on the menu and receipts. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was only charged for one egg so that's fine.

I went there in non peak hr. Food variety and quality is good, people work there very polite and helpful. I would recommend you come and try it.

There was quite a long wait for the food to arrive but then only half arrived and we had to wait 20 minutes for the other meal ( ordered in the same transaction). There's no fish and chips, apparently they have fish but it's not fresh enough to serve, well that's what I overheard the manager telling someone. The order station's have been taken out of action because big notices have been put in the centre of the screens saying there's no fish. The fried egg served can be seen in the picture, I've never seen anything like it and I don't consider it edible.The quality of the food was not brilliant. And on top of everything else in the ladies toilets the middle toilet is totally blocked and the end one doesn't have a functioning lock on the door. In general I would say, considering the prices of a lot of the food, it's awful value for money

After waiting for 45 minutes for my food I got a refund and left never to return.

Visited for the first time yesterday. Interesting concept in that you can choose from from several Boparan in a single order. On entering at 4.10pm on a Sunday, the order screens were out of order meaning we had to order at the counter. Went to order some food for my 2 young sons so approached the counter and began to order with a polite but clearly inexperienced server. Halfway through my order, we were interrupted by a manager barking at the server “No more orders after this, we’re closing!”. My face must have given away my smile at the lack of hospitality and unnecessary interruption at which point the manager addressed me- “Well, Sainsbury’s closes at 5- do you want to be locked in? Do you expect to come out the back door with the staff?”- he walked away. Continued with my order -“Sausage and Chips” - next senior figure interrupted -“we’re not doing breakfast” he barked. I hadn’t ordered breakfast. So, ordered 2 kids meals and a coffee for myself- after 15 minutes they arrived without my coffee which I had to order again. Spent the next 20 minutes eating with the kids while chairs went on tables around us as we were chaperoned out. Won’t be back, which is a shame as the concept is great. The execution is beyond dire with not a drop of hospitality.

This place is great. Everything brand new and an unusual concept so it's no surprise it will take a few weeks to iron out the wrinkles. Love Ada, she really cares about the customer service. The fish and chips was top notch and love the way you can mix and match menu items across all the brands. The Crispy onions from Slim Chickens are the best!

It took a good half an hour to get my order, but the food was excelent

Ordered two adult meals and one child’s meal, adults meal took around 20 minutes to be served which I suppose is ok but the kids meal couple of pieces of fish and chips never arrived, there was no manager to speak to as he was too busy having a smoke rather than dealing with a number of disgruntled customers waiting on refunds, quite simple sack the kitchen staff and start again as this is obviously not working, no apologies won’t be going there again, table on table we’re just waiting on their orders and the laughable thing is it wasn’t even busy

Harry Ramsden Fish & Chips is cold! Staff come to the table & pick the chips on my plate put & her mouth & try it she don't believe me that Chips is cold, I'm shocked with the terrible action ! She offer a new batch of Chips will take another 5-10 minutes but we been left for the plate with fish & still waiting for Chips to arrive,they forget us I got to asked again! arrived this hot Chips but is so anemic looking Chips, so lost my appetit!, not a very good first time experience .staff need more training how to serve food .Disappointing visit .
