The only time I have ever asked to remove service charge due to bad service/behaviour. The French-speaking barman (we spoke in French) was by far the most rude and unpleasant bar/restaurant staff member I have ever seen in the UK. Very annoyed at the fact that we simply asked if he could kindly turn on the heater outside.

My wife and I called in this evening en route to our hotel after a theatre visit. Although they were closing within the next hour they rustled up some great cheeses with amazing spelt crackers. This, along with a couple of glasses of wine, rounded off an excellent day. Great place. Had we had more time there was a choice of about a page each of red and white wines, many interesting choices but we left sated!

Went for a good bye party - ordered nearly all the food and I have to say all of it as divine. Obviously the main reason to go here is the wine, but I don’t drink so I indulged in the food and the octopus was by far my favourite dish! They have a no standing policy which is a bit annoying but service was polite and fast.

We arrived a little early on our reservation, so the owner took us at the bar, gave us a glass of water and started talking with us. He was very polite and was chitchatting with us. We asked about the restaurant and the history of it, he asked some questions about us, … the owner was the nicest! 5 to 10 minutes later we got our table. The owner came over and explained some of the dishes that were on the menu. We ordered a bottle of rosé, which we didn’t know yet, and the bottled turned out to be extraordinary! We ordered some bread, a plate of culatello (kind of Italian ham), a plate of smokey duck and a bowl of tonarelli (handmade pasta). Next to this we received a free plate of pork belly buns, given to us by the chef. The food was extremely delicious! One of the best places we’ve ever eaten. When we come back to London, we will surely visit again!

After being recommended this “exclusive” place by a friend I was extremely disappointed with the staff as well as the standard of food being served. After waiting nearly 1hr to be seated I was flabbergasted by the swearing that was coming from the waiter when he was asked to take our order! On a visit to the male bathroom I found a used condom as well as what could only be described as a glory hole in the bathroom cubicles. When I pointed this out to the waiter threatened me aggressively and told me to mind my own business!!

We were four friends and actually had a good night because of that. But the food was a real let down. It was ok, but nothing above that. The sort of food you'd get off the shelf in a mid-range supermarket in France or Italy. Wine, same thing, ok, but all of this super expensive for what it is. We certainly won't return.

Love a place that takes bookings for drinks only! It is a wine bar sure, but so many wine bars don’t. I made an online enquiry and was called a few hours later and told seats were no problem. Lucky too as it became increasingly full during the couple of hours there. It’s small but cosy but once busy it takes a bit to get noticed to get another drink. Not irritatingly slow but a little patience. Sadly their ‘happy hour’ white wine was, to my taste, quite pungent and not nice at all :/ I suppose for four pounds..... But the house champagne and Riesling by the glass were both really lovely. A really nice welcoming spot......Just wish the cheese croquettes were more plentiful than two to a serve. Yum!

We were lucky to go to The Remedy while they were staging a Tuscan Week, which meant we were treated to superb tuscan food and wine. We had wonderful service from Lisa and Andrea and drank a bottle of 2011 Chianti Colli Senesi Casale Riserva which was lovely. My friend is notoriously difficult to please, but he had the tuscan bean soup about which he was ecstatic, and about the sweet wine with dipping-biscuits which Andrea persuaded us to finish with. I was so impressed with the wine that I went back two days later to have some more, but Marco explained that they had sold out! But a few more days and I shall be back there....

My friend and I decided to pop in to this venue for a glass of wine after work. The bar decor is lovely which enticed us in, with a small lovely sitting area out front. The bar man was friendly and allowed us to taste a couple of wines before purchasing a glass which was lovely. When we decided on the wine we ordered two glasses. We were not asked on what size we would like but it was free poured. The pour was very small and both glasses had different amounts in. We were charged £7 per glass which I found extortionate for a small amount and I feel if it was a free pour place, we should have been informed. I am used to this type of pour in the US but not in the UK. I feel it should be made clear. The wine was lovely but due to this type of pour we won't be returning unfortunately.

As we were seated, a number of people were turned away. First impressions were good - we had 6 oysters, rabbit terrine and nduja croquettes. They were okay. The gnocchi felt chewy - not a favourite, but the Eel and beets was superb! It's very much about the wine. Glass upon glass were ordered and the red was superb. At the end 2 negroni (highly recommend!) and a small portion of cheese. It would be unfair to give the bill, because we definatly over ordered. It was so fun, and the staff were super friendly. I went here twice with my friend, once for lunch and once for breakfast. For lunch, we ordered: (1) the celeriac and potato soup(2) the fettuccine with venison ragu(3) the beetroot, walnuts and yoghurt salad(4) the buffalo mozzarella sandwich(5) hand-cut chipsThe soup was delicious and well-balanced. I don't particularly order soup very much but I still found it very tasty. For my main I had the fettuccine with venison ragu and it was fantastic. Nicely presented, it had a healthy serving of small venison bits of meat that really gave the ragu a great flavour. I also had the salad. I haven't eaten much beets, but I thought it was nicely done! It had a great texture and tasted fresh and light. I didn't have the sandwich, but my friend did and he enjoyed it. He was expecting it to be warm or toasted but it was not - though to be fair it did not say on the menu that it was a warm sandwich. The chips were standard and good to go along with the meal. For breakfast, we both got the same thing of smashed avocado toast with ricotta cheese and pine nuts. This was very good and they gave a substantial portion of avocado, which is always great! We also got pain au chocolats - which tasted nice and flaky, and not too sweet. However, one minor point was that all the portions were a bit on the small side, so it won't be particularly filling unless you ordered a few different things as we did. My friend and I also thought the owners (maybe?), Andre and David, were really nice and inviting. It made the two meals there extra enjoyable with such a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the food and service were clearly fantastic, and I would definitely return again.

Lovely service - warm enthusiastic, caring (yes caring) staff in this small but perfectly formed 'enoteca' near Warren st. Plenty of of wines by the glass and nothing you would find anywhere else. Great sharing platters and small plates - try the Toulouse sausages with mange tout and mustard. And go on Mondays for half price bottles of wine. Not just 1-2 but a dozen! I hope it doesn't get too popular. You do tend to come out quite a bit poorer but also pretty well wined and dined. Lots of sherries, Madeiras and ports too. Me and a friend were viewing galleries in central London and a tripadvisor recommendation helped us find this place. Great food. Exceptional wine menus and fantastically knowledgeable staff who helped make this visit memorable. Will definitely be back.

Popped here for a quick drink with a friend before a gig, ended up staying for many glasses of wine and some food. The 2 guys working there were so kind and friendly, and picked out some really tasty wines (after poorly describing what I liked). Food was spot on - exactly my idea of food heaven: cheese board, charcuterie board, OYSTERS, croquettes. All absolutely delicious. Really cute little bar with a lovely vibe. We went on A Thursday eve without booking and it was really full and buzzy. Would definitely recommend booking one of the very few tables if you are looking to grab a bite. Great place.

Popped in for one glass of wine on my way home, ended up trying half the wine menu. This is a great little wine bar eatery that has a loyal clientele. They serve wonderful wine and tasty small plates of food.

I work around the corner and so my colleagues and I come here often. I also find myself coming in on the weekends with my husband and friends. I love the atmosphere; it reminds me of a New Orleans style bar. The staff are wonderful and always helpful with their suggestions. They have a great wine selection, their food is very good, and they always have nice choice of music playing. You really do need to book a table since it is a very small place. I just really enjoy my visits here, it's friendly and cosy. Certainly worth a trip if you are in the area or just really like wine!

I visited this wine bar after doing a brief Google search: I needed somewhere relatively close to Euston to catch my train home, but I wanted a decent wine bar with a good selection of wine. I was not disappointed. I saw a 2009 Alsatian Gewürztraminer on the menu and took a glass, not knowing that it was a grand cru.... it was quite simply amazing, and I had a further two glasses. Some tapas bites followed, some ham croquetas and Toulouse sausage with mustard and lentils... all delicious. Rounded off with a 2004 Cotes de Nuits Saint Georges. Sublime. I sat at the bar and made a good friend, and the service was great. I shall definitely be returning. Thanks for making my day :)

London is now genuinely cosmopolitan. We no longer need to fake it because people have come from all over the world to open and run the genuine article. And the three chaps running this bar have come from Italy, the USA and France to provide a relaxed watering hole and eatery. Dany (the French one) mixed our cocktails and was all Gallic charm and wit. If we didn’t have a dinner appointment I would have stayed for a second, or a third or...............

My friends and I stopped here en route to a restaurant further down Cleveland St. We had looked at the reviews of this wine bar and thought it offered an ideal place for a pre-dinner drink. It was a lovely welcoming atmosphere and seemed to have a good number of local regulars there. We had a couple of rounds of gin and tonic - Sipsmith and Portobello - both nicely prepared (bit disappointed on the Schweppes tonic instead of Fevertree but good enough. A bit pricy as the two rounds cost me about £80 but it was a special celebration.Didn't eat here, obviously, but the selection seemed interesting and what we saw looked well presented.

I recently received a voucher for The Remedy Wine Bar in Fitzrovia, so I headed over there with a friend and vowed to drink as much wine as it took to truly suss the place out. I’m good like that. Now, I drink wine on a fairly frequent basis. I do enjoy a tipple. But when one goes to a place that has designated itself as the place to do all your quality wine drinking then one does not take just anyone. You take someone conversational. You take someone who can yap. You take someone with whom you have 10 years of catching up to do.I invited my friend Nicky. We went to high school together and the last time we met up was probably about eight years ago, so there was a lot to natter about. So much in fact, that though we spent many hours supping wine and gossiping like those two old muppet geezers who sit in the balcony, we probably only covered five years worth of news.Anyway, back to the wine. We had that awkward five minutes at the beginning of the night where the waiter hands you an epic wine list (or a beautiful folder with a wax seal in this case!) and you accept it and read through it. It takes about 30 seconds from there for you to realise that you didn’t actually become a master sommelier on the tube ride in so you have no real idea what you’re reading. You then spend the next four and a half minutes panicking about how you’re going to get through this ordering business without looking like a complete fool. So, I did what I always do. I asked the waiter what he recommended. I do feel like I could just say “red”, “white”, “sparkling” or “pinkish” and then let the waiter choose from there, but most people seem to expect me to have a better-than-one-word knowledge of my own taste preferences so I play along with the pantomime about “dry” “fruity” and “full bodied” until they seem to believe that I’ve played an active enough role in the decision making process and they trottle off to get me a beverage.I started with a Riesling (always a safe bet for me) and Nicky kicked off with a Prosecco. All good. The Remedy specialise in delicious wine. I didn’t have everything on the menu (I’m still in training for that glorious day), but I do feel that it’s one of those places where you could pretty much choose anything and not be disappointed. We stuck to glasses as we wanted to sample lots of different wines, but they do have a large selection by the bottle. What’s the bar like? It’s small. It’s snug. It’s cosy. There’s exposed brickwork. It’s a little hole in the wall in a reasonably quiet neighbourhood and it’s brilliant for meeting friends and feeling classy without feeling pretentious.Eventually we decided we also wanted to partake some cheese and breads. Firstly because cheese is a brilliant way to enjoy oneself, and secondly because we figured that if we soaked up some of the alcohol with food we could sample more wines, thus creating a better review for you all. #DrinkingResponsiblyThere’s an interesting selection of food, but we opted for the cheese deal. Five random cheeses for £12, and that comes with bread and chutney. The platter looked rather small on arrival, but it actually took us a while to get through. More gossip. More wine. I know I had a chardonnay, but there was something else that I can’t remember but I know I enjoyed it. Nicky also had several more glasses and was enthusiastically merry about the night’s sojourn. By the end of the night we had that glorious feeling, not of inebriation, but more of a glow. There’s a special sensation you get from partaking in good quality wine. It’s a drunkenness that’s not messy, so you don’t really want to call it drunkenness. It’s more of a kind of clarity. Don’t get me wrong, you wouldn’t want to leave there and start operating heavy machinery straight away, but it’s a classy kind of tipsy, and it’s quite different from sobriety. So that’s pretty much it. A fantastic night and a lovely little wine bar. Just in case you need another excuse to visit The Remedy, I have one prepared: they’re totally down with Monday night drinking.
