The Reiver in Carlisle

We have been regular customers of The Reiver for 30 years. They have had a few changes of management over recent years. We ate here for the first time since the most recent management took over and we were very happy with our meal. It was great value, very hot (which is important to us), nicely presented and served very quickly. We found the staff to be pleasant and the ambiance relaxing. All in all we were impressed and will no doubt be eating here again very soon.

Took the mrs and kids for tea tonight, never again, the food wasn’t bad but everything else was like the jockey out of shameless. Our waiter in Adidas tracksuit bottoms didn’t have a clue, the lads smoking vapes in the corner and the young boys openly doing coke in the toilet, nah not for me

Where do I start? This place is an absolute joke. It is clearly a dosshouse for staff and workers who congregate around the bar. The language is unbelievable., whilst the owners Swan in and out between fag breaks and getting themselves a pint, I’ve honestly never experienced a pub with so much disregard to customers as this place. I think Heineken have wasted a lot of money here
