The Red Lion & Pineapple in Ealing

Not only the best Wetherspoon's but one of the best pubs in West London. It's a 'spoons' but not your regular type - only the pricing gives it away. The quality and selection of ale plus amazing service makes this a phenomenal pub. Frequent guest ales include Oakham Citra, Thornbridge Jaipur and Theakston Old Peculier (as well as the Spoons ever-present Greene King IPA and Doom Bar). Usually nine cask ales on tap. Friendly and efficient service from Ciara, Ewelina, Josh, Lyndella, Shannon, Tom, Thea, Vanessa, Ale and team - thanks for making it so great! EDIT: Plum Porter, Jaipur and Pride are now regular ales here as of Dec 2024.

I am compelled to share a deeply troubling experience we had at the Red Lion Pub on Saturday night. During our visit, a young man in our group was spiked and subsequently became extremely unwell, even throwing up as a result. Instead of providing the necessary assistance, the pub staff chose to throw him out onto the street, leaving him vulnerable and in distress. They refused to call an ambulance, which is both shocking and unacceptable. I want everyone to be fully aware of this incident and to remain vigilant in such environments. The lack of responsibility and empathy displayed by the staff is alarming and poses serious safety concerns. When someone is visibly in distress from a suspected spiking incident, staff should be trained to handle the situation with urgency, care, and professionalism—not abandon them to fend for themselves. This failure to act responsibly is not only dangerous but demonstrates a severe disregard for customer safety. I urge management to address this matter immediately and implement strict policies and training to prevent such negligence in the future. No one should be left in a vulnerable position due to the inaction of those who are entrusted with the safety of patrons.

The place is very inviting and friendly. Celebrating my mates birthday there was a joy. Definitely suggesting

My favourite thing to eat at my local whetehrspons is the small breakfast £2.99, perfect if you don’t want something heavy but want to give yourself a little morning treat. If your feeling hungry I would definitely recommend the normal breakfast which is around £5 or so. I have no complaints, I love having my small breakfast here. It’s such a cheap and cheerful meal. The serving staff are lovely.

Driven past many times and I promised to one day go in for a pint. Good old fashioned London pub.

This spoons has sport and a good atmosphere, really good find inbetween Acton and Ealing, not a normal spoons, it’s clean and has a good atmosphere

Toilets were a mess even though someone just "tidied" up Way to much water in Ramen. Drinks were good though

The service was quick, considering how many people were there, I had gammon which was nice,and my wife had sticky barbecue chicken which was also nice,the beer we had were included in the meal. The man who served us our meals was pleasant as was all the people I spoke to. And only a short walk from the tube station.

Beautiful pub and bar, huge selection of beers and great prices. Nice location. The staff could have beer more lively, but what I noticed the most is the lack of good ventilation. Place reeks of bad alcohol smell..

I spent a good hour here on Curry Night. Food took a while to arrive, but that was understandable on a Thursday night. Good quality beer, usual standard for the curry and a good atmosphere, particularly outside. Would return and edit if necessary.

The steak was extremely tough even if it was aged 5 or so. . . .

The reintroduced "Rib Eye" steak on "Steak Club" was really delicious. Thanks for bringing it back.

Food is really so so, table always dirty. But you can get cheapest beer here.

Nice little Wetherspoons, good pint and decent food

Great place, nice service and atmosphere. The food is very tasty and the beer is not expensive. The service is very nice. Even if you don't know the language, you can communicate easily. A friendly place for foreigners. We ate breakfast here and drank beer in the evening. Prices very affordable.

Friday night drinks after work. Bitter very cheap, staff doing a great job in a mildly hostile atmosphere with alcoholic old geezers looking for excuses to take offence. Went elsewhere after a couple of drinks.

The Red Lion in Acton provides excellent service with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is kind and efficient, ensuring quick service. It's also great for families, as children are welcome until 21:00, making it a perfect spot for an early evening meal

Weatherspoons located in Acton, not many pubs to choose from locally so it’s nice to have a cheaper option in this area. Staff are attentive and were in good spirits when I was there. Cheap and cheerful like all weatherspoons.

A real London pub, in reality it is a chain. The structure of the various pubs is the same typical English style. The place is different in 3 areas, an external one for smokers, one that surrounds the counter in the first room and the third is made up of a larger small consisting of tables and chairs. The organization is very practical. You order at the counter where you indicate your table number, you pay and then you are served at your seat. The menu is huge, you can find practically everything and at fair prices

Fantastic vegan range. The cauliflower and spinach curry was very tasty. Now and again, the poppadoms could be very oily though, and the pepsi rather tasteless. Sticky floors were really the only small difficulties I had - but I suspect some people might like it as a hallmark of such a pub.

Good for a Wetherspoons. A couple of other pubs near by if it's too busy but they can't match the value.

Friends of mine from overseas have been staying in Acton for a week. They have just headed back home after time spent in Sheffield, Nottingham and London. One of their highlights of their trip was this pub. They were staying in a guest house nearby and we met at the Red Lion for a number of breakfasts and dinners. We were served by a lots of different members of staff and all were really helpful and friendly and good fun - as were the locals in the pub. I think the food is excellent value and we enjoyed every meal that we had very much. What was great for my friends was the opportunity to try a number of British classics just a stone's throw from where they were staying. Fish and chips, scampi and chips full English breakfast, steak and kidney pudding, tea toast and marmalade, bangers and mash, mushy peas, onion gravy, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard and more. In addition there is a fabulous variety of food from all around the globe. Cheers to all the cooks and bar staff for helping my friends to have a fabulous time in the UK! For my own part I think that I don't have been to Acton more than once before this last week, but I expect to be going again because it's such a lovely pub.

Was stopped immediately by a security guard when I was heading to the bar to be chastised for entering with my boxed leftovers from dinner at a restaurant nearby. I had to discard them or leave. He was pretty aggressive as if I had a weapon or dangerous item. I'm 55. I don't have time for this b. S. Clientele was mostly young loud teens anyways with the odd centenarian. Bathrooms were clean though 😅. Will not return.

The food is amazing. Simple And sweet. The drinks are affordable. The ambience is typical of what you'd expect from a "spoons". But this place has good staff, good food. With the right people it's a good friday night. (Or Monday night if you swing that way)

This is a chain restaurant where you can eat at relatively cheap prices in London. Alcohol is also cheap, so you can drink without worrying too much about the price. The location is a little far from the station, so I think it's a convenient location. The atmosphere was great, and it was great to experience the local food and atmosphere! After this, I ended up going to the affiliated store many times. The service was okay. I was able to eat without any stress. I would like to go again when I go to England.

Ein großes aber gemütliches Pub mit freundlichem Service und gutem Essen. Bestellt wird jedoch nur noch über das eigene Handy, indem man einen QR- Code scannt und die Tischnummer angibt, klappt aber problemlos. Leider ist die Geräuschkulisse am Abend sehr hoch, weswegen man sich oft nicht gut versteht. Wir waren morgens auch zum Frühstücken dort und auch hier waren wir sehr zufrieden. Wenn man London besucht, wäre dies eine gute Option um abends wegziehen und Spaß zu haben

Decided to have a quick meal at Thursday night curry club. To be honest was not expecting much but was surprised at the quality presention and speed of service. The price was a bargin and included a beer so we were happy. One small note please do not put the popadoms under the nan bread .. they go soggy really quickley. Defo on our thursday night list. It would be nice to have the back of the pub reserved for dinners from 7 to 9. we did not want to sit at a tall table in the middle of the pub eating dinner. Did get a booth but that was just luck at last minute.

Ok, drinks are cheap, but walking on the floor covered with beer and waiters that do not even take notice and some aggressive people will not become my favorite.

This is a really good wetherspoons fast service, the beer was good and well kept, didn't have any food, but I'm sure it's the same as the rest of the weather spoons, which is good value.
