All very splendid today in this lively branch of Wetherspoons. Great food, excellent beer, friendly efficient staff and a great atmosphere with friendly locals

I went to this pub with my mother and friends and I think it was pretty amazing. The food (especially curry) was awesome and people three were nice to teenage like us. I’m Japanese living there but they didn’t discriminate us so it was comfortable. I am a Japanese junior high school student, but I went there with my mother and there was no discrimination. The curry is delicious.

Cozy and nice place for a dinner and a couple of pints of ale. Very helpful staff. Reasonable fish and chips. Good selection of drinks. Will come back when I stay at Acton while visiting London again.

Wow, I had a standard sized mixed grill and the food was absolutely excellent. It was chargrilled and I've never tasted gammon that was so good. I had it with the Mediterranean salad which has beans or pearl barley in it with a delicious side salad sauce that came with it. The service was just as great as the food, a lovely young man was so pleasant, friendly, and polite and wiped the table for me as I sat down. This felt like an upper class experience rather than Wetherspoons. Thank you for a wonderful experience and a very full belly at the fraction of the cost anywhere else. I'm definitely trying the gammon and egg next. Hats off to the chef!

I have to warn anyone who’s gay (and anyone else really) to avoid this pub like the plague. On Friday night, not only did we have a man come out the pub as me and my friend were smoking to homophobically harass us while smelling of stale urine to the point we had to go back in, but once we re-entered, we had other men harass and grab my friend by the waist at the urinals attempting to come onto him, block me from getting into the toilets, jeering, hostile stares while we were sitting and chatting trying to enjoy our meal. We left in a taxi after telling the staff our experience. Geordie girl was super understanding, not at all sure about the rest though especially since we saw the security guard chatting and laughing with the men after we had told the staff what was going on. This is clearly not the only comment of this type here. There’s one about staff abandoning someone who was spiked and leaving them to fend for themselves? Seems like there's a massive training issue, to put it lightly. Either way, absolutely embarrassing atmosphere for a London pub in this day and age, would not touch again with a barge pole. Yuck.

Really enjoyed going here recently as I travelled from Ireland for a match, got breakfast a couple of times then 1 evening got fish and chips which was very tasty but what really like was the pizzas they do not messing 1 of the nicest pizza iv ever tasted especially the ham/mushroom.. . The atmosphere is cool and relaxed alot of different nationalities and everyone is open mined and friendly(as are staff) and would chat away to ,would 100 per cent go bk there again and intend to do so for many other occasions. Well done lads keep up the good work 👏

Food is good and cheap. I usually order traditional breakfast with no beans. One time the staff told me if I don’t want beans I can swap something else instead. So from then every time I went I got beans swapped with a sausage. But this time the server told me I can’t do that because ‘meat and vegetables have different prices’ so I chose to have mushrooms instead. Didn’t bother me until the plate arrived: breakfast with no beans but one single small mushroom. Horrible experience!!!

Quality and low prices. A must visit if you are close. Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Got the morning menu with referable coffee.

Nice pub, both inside and out. The food is very cheap (especially by London standards) and also very tasty. The staff is super friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. You can refill hot drinks as often as you want. We would come back!

Absolutely recommended. Went here for breakfast and dinner on several days. Great atmosphere, staff always friendly (even if their English isn't that good) and patient. Food was always delicious, you didn't have to wait long and for a good price. In the evening it is always full, so, as usual for a pub, it is a little louder. We were completely satisfied. Thanks!

I am not a fan of Wheterspoon's but this Acton branch has a chill staff, is well maintained and I can't complain much about the food.

Not only the best Wetherspoon's but one of the best pubs in West London. It's a 'spoons' but not your regular type - only the pricing gives it away. The quality and selection of ale plus amazing service makes this a phenomenal pub. Frequent guest ales include Oakham Citra, Thornbridge Jaipur and Theakston Old Peculier (as well as the Spoons ever-present Greene King IPA and Doom Bar). Usually nine cask ales on tap. Friendly and efficient service from Ciara, Ewelina, Josh, Lyndella, Shannon, Tom, Thea, Vanessa, Ale and team - thanks for making it so great! EDIT: Plum Porter, Jaipur and Pride are now regular ales here as of Dec 2024.

Este es un pub bastante típico Wetherspoons, comida y bebida razonable y precios decentes. Pedí scampi y patatas fritas con guisantes, mi amigo fue por huevo de jamón y patatas fritas y lo lavamos con un par de bebidas. Todo el lote llegó a poco menos de £ 25 que representaba una excelente relación calidad-precio. El servicio fue rápido y amable, solo había dudas de que podría haber habido unas cuantas fichas más, pero tal vez solo soy codicioso. No dudaría en volver a visitarlo cuando esté de esta manera de nuevo.

I am compelled to share a deeply troubling experience we had at the Red Lion Pub on Saturday night. During our visit, a young man in our group was spiked and subsequently became extremely unwell, even throwing up as a result. Instead of providing the necessary assistance, the pub staff chose to throw him out onto the street, leaving him vulnerable and in distress. They refused to call an ambulance, which is both shocking and unacceptable. I want everyone to be fully aware of this incident and to remain vigilant in such environments. The lack of responsibility and empathy displayed by the staff is alarming and poses serious safety concerns. When someone is visibly in distress from a suspected spiking incident, staff should be trained to handle the situation with urgency, care, and professionalism—not abandon them to fend for themselves. This failure to act responsibly is not only dangerous but demonstrates a severe disregard for customer safety. I urge management to address this matter immediately and implement strict policies and training to prevent such negligence in the future. No one should be left in a vulnerable position due to the inaction of those who are entrusted with the safety of patrons.

Driven past many times and I promised to one day go in for a pint. Good old fashioned London pub.

My favourite thing to eat at my local whetehrspons is the small breakfast £2.99, perfect if you don’t want something heavy but want to give yourself a little morning treat. If your feeling hungry I would definitely recommend the normal breakfast which is around £5 or so. I have no complaints, I love having my small breakfast here. It’s such a cheap and cheerful meal. The serving staff are lovely.

El hombre que nos sirvió nuestras comidas fue agradable al igual que toda la gente con la que hablé. Y solo un corto paseo de la estación de metro.

Beautiful pub and bar, huge selection of beers and great prices. Nice location. The staff could have beer more lively, but what I noticed the most is the lack of good ventilation. Place reeks of bad alcohol smell..

Cheap and cheerful, good food, great service and friendly staff.

I spent a good hour here on Curry Night. Food took a while to arrive, but that was understandable on a Thursday night. Good quality beer, usual standard for the curry and a good atmosphere, particularly outside. Would return and edit if necessary.

Great place, nice service and atmosphere. The food is very tasty and the beer is not expensive. The service is very nice. Even if you don't know the language, you can communicate easily. A friendly place for foreigners. We ate breakfast here and drank beer in the evening. Prices very affordable.

Friday night drinks after work. Bitter very cheap, staff doing a great job in a mildly hostile atmosphere with alcoholic old geezers looking for excuses to take offence. Went elsewhere after a couple of drinks.

The Red Lion in Acton provides excellent service with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is kind and efficient, ensuring quick service. It's also great for families, as children are welcome until 21:00, making it a perfect spot for an early evening meal

Weatherspoons located in Acton, not many pubs to choose from locally so it’s nice to have a cheaper option in this area. Staff are attentive and were in good spirits when I was there. Cheap and cheerful like all weatherspoons.

A real London pub, in reality it is a chain. The structure of the various pubs is the same typical English style. The place is different in 3 areas, an external one for smokers, one that surrounds the counter in the first room and the third is made up of a larger small consisting of tables and chairs. The organization is very practical. You order at the counter where you indicate your table number, you pay and then you are served at your seat. The menu is huge, you can find practically everything and at fair prices

Fantastic vegan range. The cauliflower and spinach curry was very tasty. Now and again, the poppadoms could be very oily though, and the pepsi rather tasteless. Sticky floors were really the only small difficulties I had - but I suspect some people might like it as a hallmark of such a pub.

Good for a Wetherspoons. A couple of other pubs near by if it's too busy but they can't match the value.

Amigos míos del extranjero se han quedado en Acton por una semana. Acaban de regresar a casa después de pasar tiempo en Sheffield, Nottingham y Londres. Uno de los puntos culminantes de su viaje fue este pub. Estaban alojados en una casa de huéspedes cerca y nos encontramos en el León Rojo para una serie de desayunos y cenas. Nos atendieron un montón de miembros diferentes del personal y todos eran muy serviciales y amables y muy divertido - al igual que los lugareños en el pub. Creo que la comida es excelente relación calidad-precio y disfrutamos de cada comida que tuvimos mucho. Lo que fue genial para mis amigos fue la oportunidad de probar una serie de clásicos británicos a un tiro de piedra de donde se alojaban. Pescado con papas fritas, scampi con papas fritas desayuno inglés completo, bistec y pudín de riñón, tostadas de té y mermelada, bangers y puré, guisantes machacados, salsa de cebolla, ketchup, mayonesa, mostaza y más. Además hay una fabulosa variedad de comida de todo el mundo. Saludos a todos los cocineros y personal del bar por ayudar a mis amigos a pasar un tiempo fabuloso en el Reino Unido! Por mi parte creo que no he estado en Acton más de una vez antes de esta última semana, pero espero ir de nuevo porque es un pub encantador.

Was stopped immediately by a security guard when I was heading to the bar to be chastised for entering with my boxed leftovers from dinner at a restaurant nearby. I had to discard them or leave. He was pretty aggressive as if I had a weapon or dangerous item. I'm 55. I don't have time for this b. S. Clientele was mostly young loud teens anyways with the odd centenarian. Bathrooms were clean though 😅. Will not return.

The food is amazing. Simple And sweet. The drinks are affordable. The ambience is typical of what you'd expect from a "spoons". But this place has good staff, good food. With the right people it's a good friday night. (Or Monday night if you swing that way)

This is a chain restaurant where you can eat at relatively cheap prices in London. Alcohol is also cheap, so you can drink without worrying too much about the price. The location is a little far from the station, so I think it's a convenient location. The atmosphere was great, and it was great to experience the local food and atmosphere! After this, I ended up going to the affiliated store many times. The service was okay. I was able to eat without any stress. I would like to go again when I go to England.
