The North Star in Ealing

Went to the North Star with my partner last Saturday and had a lovely time and a very good experience with a friendly and helpful young lady called Fay who took our drink and food order at the bar nothing was to much trouble

Burned burgers and very rude staff

My beer compass led us here. It wasn't wrong.

Interior design was done haphazardly, and comes across as lackluster and unplanned. This lack of cohesion does not detract from it being well appointed, individually things don't seem to fit, however everything that is there is of high quality and nice. The space is clean, it is cozy, but this endearing nature is somewhat dimished by the incoherence. For the price you would be better off at a spoons, however the staff are lovely. Perhaps the pub would have more patrons if it wasn't priced as a central London pub, without any of the benefits, while being dressed in the finery of a B&M.

Staff are super friendly and helpful! Pub is nice and clean. Was served by Fay, who couldn’t do enough for me and my partner. Service was quick and efficient.

Lovely staff at the North Star. Was served by a man called szymon who was very friendly and gave good service. Atmosphere is great with multiple TV’s and the garden area is nice aswell. Do recommend

The North Star in the heart of Ealing Broadway is a great destination for pub lovers. Amazing atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff, great selection of cocktails and tasty food. Special thank you to Simon the manager who made our visit an extremely pleasant one.

Very nice gastro pub, nice service, ok prices. The place has changed its appearance significantly since I remember. There is more space and it is no longer scary with old stuff. Nice place for a quick beer or lunch. I recommend

Went here to watch the Champions League midweek. The food was fantastic, I would highly highly recommend the corn rib sides they were so unique and super tasty. My only negative was that the commentary was very quiet and often couldn’t be heard over people talking and it wasn’t particularly busy. Sounded like they had amazing student deals here although I’m no longer eligible!

Bever tried the food but beer was good a little on the expensive side but atleast weekends they have live music. Outdoor tables with heating

The North Star is our go to in Ealing. The staff are fantastic - so helpful and always smiling no matter how busy they are! Service has always been fabulous!

Bartenders are really friendly and helpful. This was our first day in town and we spent a very good time.

Nice student-vibes place! I live nearby, so I finally decided to pop in after reading mixed reviews. If you’re looking for a loud boozy place like Belushi in Hammersmith, this is your spot! (and it was clearly inspired by it, or viceversa. Who knows?). Good beer, student discounts on beer (yay!!!) and loud booze ppl. For a date? Maybe not the right place. For a family drink with mom? Hell no. But for a nice cold beer in good company, it’s perfect 🤩 Glad I discovered it! Good job guys 💪💪 Didn’t try the food so can’t judge, but the food is clearly not the focus here! I visited this pub long time ago it's so a nice cosy place in Ealing Broadway and the food was good.

Food not great for the price but excellent ambience. No parking anywhere, clean toilets, friendly service

Went here as a good place to go for Sundsy Lunch. Waited an hour for 2 Beef dinners that did not arrive. I was offered my money back which I accepted as there was still no sign of any roast dinner. The other selling point of craft ales were just 2 real ale pumps both of which were not working.

Love the live music was a great place to end our evening. Only ok choices of drink (only 2 IPAs that I could see) but the two they had we good enough.

Went for our first drink of the day at around 4pm on a Saturday with a nearly empty pub. The bartender was unbelievably rude, looking bored and snapping at us when we changed our minds about what drinks we wanted to order (due to high cost). No one else was at the bar at this point so not sure why there was any rush! It was borderline comical how rude she was being - I almost asked her if she’d gotten out of bed on the wrong side that morning. Needless to say we downed our drinks and left asap - just a small reminder that being rude to someone can ruin their day!

I've lived in ealing for last 20 years but never visited the North star. I can say I'm pleasantly surprised; very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Especially seb was very friendly and hospitable. Get this man a raise. What a gent. Thanks for having us. edit: Was back at the north start after a long time and glad to see the main man Sebastian still working there. Very polite and helpful and made me and friends feel at home. Thanks :)

A fantastic retreat in Ealing. The real ales were in perfect condition and the food delicious. The indoor area is huge and the toilets incredibly clean. The outdoor area is a nice n quiet, relaxed little oasis hidden away from the hustle n bustle of the high street. The staff were really lovely and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place.

Absolutely love the north star! I come almost every friday night, the vibes are immaculate and always find Joy behind the bar who’s the friendliest bartender! Really good night out in ealing with some great food too

I’ve been to The North Star a few times but last Tuesday early a review, the food and drink is well priced and the atmosphere is nice too. But the service I was given by the bar staff there was amazing, my friend who isn’t a big drinker was given multiple great options by Joy she offered a great selection across the board and didn’t seem to get to annoyed after taking ages to order. Will definitely be going back there

Just a traditional style pub. Great. Food looked amazing, smelt good. Had already eaten but would of ordered something if not.

Great service, great food, friendly staff highly recommend a visit. I'm sadly having to update my review. Of late there hasn't been enough staff on to clear table of dirty plates and when asked to do it staff are very reluctant to do it. Standard of service has dropped in recent weeks. As it stands I would not recommend a visit.

I've visited The North Star quite a few times for a drink but unfortunately tonight really needed a review to warn others. It's ok inside and the atmosphere is pretty good. The service isn't particularly friendly but tonight the food (value for money) was really poor. I tried the chicken wings and chicken tenders, they're on the menu for £9.50 each but there was a 2 for 1 offer on so cost £9.50 instead of £19 (the barmaid also said you couldn't mix & match but the menu said otherwise). Even at this price the serving size was absolutely awful, barely a snack and about the same size as you get from a cheap chicken shop down the road for about £3. Photos included to show just how small the portions were (4 tenders that were about the size of my fingers), and the plates are side plates too, not even dinner plates. Then you add £7+ for a pint of beer and you really do leave feeling like you've been robbed (and obviously still hungry). Very poor, not somewhere I'll be eating again if this is what you get for your money.

Great little pub in Ealing. Fri and Sat nights are a must visit with live music. A dying thing in London pubs. Prices are average for London but they do have deals and can't forget their guest beers etc. Food is pub average but definitely can't complain.

Myself and some friends went into the North Star before attending a show. Service was great and was very happy to see a good range of vegetarian options. Had the nourish bowl with halloumi and loved it. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent service from lovely Alex! The manager was also friendly and apologetic when I complained about the chicken wings, offering a replacement. However, unfortunately, the food couldn't be saved. The chicken wings were dry as straw and its replacement of halloumi fries were smothered with two different, awful stick sauces. If only the sauces were served separately. It's a pit really, because the North Star is a very gorgeous pub, full of charm. Nonetheless, I'm definitely going back for a nice, cold beer under the charming service of Alex and the manager!

Absolutely lovely staff, easy to talk to, attentive service and super helpful. The feed was immaculate, highly recommend the Steak Sandwhich and the Loaded Fries! Great pub atmosphere, clean premises, super cozy outdoor areas. Will definitely go again next time we are in London

Pub seating has been re fitted to give it a more cafe feel and less comfortable pub seating. Lots of raised seats if you like that. They still do live music, check on Friday and Saturday and food. Not a great selection of cider, they have two at moment but good for beers. Comfortable outside covered seating and smoking area. Clean toilets. Recommended for local live music when avaliable. They also have football on TV. This pub has undergone a few changes internally over the years but it is still the North Star and will always have my patronage when I fancy a pint.

We organised a birthday party for three friends, and had 30+ guests. The staff were very accommodating and gracious. Ellen was an absolute star and made the whole process super easy and welcoming. Would highly recommend this place.

Great little find of a pub near to Ealing Broadway station. The staff are very friendly and nice and the beer and food were really good. The chicken wings in particular. I will be visiting here a lot in the future.

A great place for free live music on Friday and Saturday nights . Very close to Ealing Broadway station and many buses. Gets very busy, difficult to get to the toilet and the bar.

Group of about 10 guys wanted to get one drink as part of a stag pub crawl and accused one of us of being too drunk. This person suffered from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, in which we showed the doorman the medication he had to take on a daily basis (3 different types of medication). Still not letting us in, I said thats fine we will take our money elsewhere and ill be happy to write a bad review on the place based on the doorman not allowing us in as he thought someone was drunk, when they indeed had a disability. He then claimed to be the manager of the establishment, and told me that if im going to write a review of the place accusing them of discrimination against his disability, he would end our night and "end us in this town". Real mature.
