Bar lady has a terrible attitude. Moaned that a large group had "moved all our furniture around" and we had "hardly put anything behind the bar" when in fact we had purchased drinks and moved a couple of chairs so we could all sit together. The pub was not busy and we weren't taking up space others were waiting to fill. They had no milk and couldn't provide any hot drinks - her response was "we're a pub not a coffee shop". Clearly only likes locals in there. Wouldn't waste your time or money going to this place. I think a course in customer service might be her best bet.

Good place for a pint. The parking area is ok, the road gets busy but not a big issue.

Had a glorious xl roast . Delicious. And the staff were so friendly and efficient.

Drove from Harrow having heard about this eating venue....Nice location..can imagine during the summer it's an ideal discrete getaway....The sky was overcast but held off whilst I sat and ate outside... Nice people overall..Food lived up to what I was told.... Thanks Guys...I'll be back...with the gang...and they can eat....

Nice pub with a huge outdoor / garden area and decent sized car park. Great for hot sunny days, though the kids play area could use some work as some of the equipment is broken and potentially quite dangerous

I popped for a beer and found out it was 80's night at the pub. So I decided to stick around. The bar staff where in fancy dress (Mario and Luigi) and some of the punters were as well. Great Lady DJ playing 1980's Bangers...I thought I was 20 again! Check the pubs website for up and coming events. They also do great food at reasonable prices & of course Sunday lunch. Kids and dogs welcome with a Very large beer garden backing onto the canal. If you are passing by on the canal it's a great place to moore up and get some food/Drinks! (Right by lock 69 Nash Mills)

Really poor. Attended an event and food orders were majorly delayed. The staffing had not been sufficient, leading to barmaids and members of staff detesting the guests. The marquee had seen better days, and needed a good wash. Food when it did arrive was average.

Basic but well done food. Nice indoor area. Very affordable. Also accomodated my lactose intolerant vegetarian daughter very well.

Convenient location and class entertainment, spacious garden and there are often events going on. Good food, good staff, good pub .

Excellent Soul Night Out on the last Friday of the month. Can't wait to go back. They also do the best Sunday dinner there, from what I can remember. 😋

Visited with my girlfriend on Valentine’s Day and the food was great and the staff were very friendly and polite. Dog friendly as well!

Okay pub, would be better if they fixed the overflowing drain at the entrance! No one wants to walk in drain water before a meal or drink!

I wanted to use the promotion from Heineken on Monday 28.8.2023. (Residents of England 18+ only. One voucher per person during the promotion. Participating venues only. Offer available from 04.09.23 – 01.10.23) . It was one of the last of this promotion, but the bar staff had no clue how to process it. I would recommend more staff training in this pub. Fortunately I had more luck in The Victoria pub in St Albans the next day, lovely staff and smooth transaction.

Staying the night up the road we spotted The Red Lion as we headed to our accommodation and decided we would head their for dinner. We were not disappointed. Meals were great! Pub itself has nice atmosphere. Would recommend. Value for money.

When I went it seemed low on beer choices and no alcohol spirits. Good play area for the children

Nice garden, but very let down by the fact that the website says food is served Mon-Sat till 8pm, and when we arrived on a Monday evening we were told "the only day we don't do food is Mondays ". When I tried to point out what the website says I just got fobbed off by an apathetic member of staff repeating "we don't do food on Mondays". Update your website!

It is super rundown. The staff appear apathetic and tired. The beer garden seating is old and rickety. The play area is falling apart and in need of repair. One bar / serving area means the wait for drinks is very long.

Nice place nice garden but most importantly it serves good beer.

Came to the red lion so our daughter could attend a volunteer meal with waterways experience, The atmosphere is very good and they have a lot of seating inside for you to seat at and have meals, they also have a covered area at the rear where you can smoke and relax at, It looks like at certain occasions they have an outside bar too, My wife and me when here had a Sunday lunch, I had turkey and my wife had gammon, You can have turkey, gammon or beef, The food I would highly recommend, Definitely a good place to visit wether you are just having a drink or a meal or both, Would definitely recommend to family and friends, Definitely 5 stars ***** *

Local pub with loads of space inside & in the garden, available for organising small events. The staff was friendly and pleasant. Parking available. I haven't tried Sunday roast as it was only available until 3pm, but next time I would reconsider my choice of baked potato with tuna if coming later in the day. Presentation was nice, tuna was of decent quality (certainly better than what I would get in pret in central London), but the potato tasted a bit sour and I wondered if it has been a long time since cooked.

Staff aren’t very welcoming or polite. Was ‘welcomed’ very abruptly by the brunette lady, putting that loosely as we weren’t welcomed at all, she was very rude resulting in us going to the trusty, lovely pub The Papermill :) - if your looking for a nice pub with food just go to the Papermill.

Is good enough if you don't have other options. The inside is ok, but the garden is not that good, looks like it has been abandoned. The food has only few dishes and common.

It is a disgrace how loud you have your music to the detriment of residents in the surrounding area. Even if it council approved they do not live there and have to listen to for 8hrs. The bass is far too loud. When contacting the pub the staff are incredibly rude and are not interested to help. I have been into the pub before with my partner and out experience was just as abysmal as how your staff are trained. The only reason I have given 1 star is because I am unable to give 0 stars to post.

Great cosy traditonal pub. Love the low celings and friendly vibe. The great big garden is great for dogs who are also allowed in the pub. The sofas inside are super comfy and the service is with a smile.

Popped in for coffee while waiting for the car getting MOT. Very clean and welcoming. Very Quite for lunchtime.

A truly great canal side pub with a lovely vibe, it's owned by Marion and Brian who I didn't meet but they have created a real pub. I did meet their daughter and she allowed me to take pictures. The food is fantastic and the portions are large and freshly home cooked, not brakes brothers rubbish. I should imagine it would make a fantastic venue for the right bands.

We had a fab afternoon here at a Caribbean party event. Food and music was both outstanding. Whoever made the rice deserves the highest praise! Bouncy castle for the kids and a huge garden. Of course. Rum too 😍🥰

A great space outdoors for relaxation in the summer. Located next to canal, has car parking facilities and the staff are always keen to help.

This place has huge sentimental meaning for me as I met my husband here, we got married here too. Lovely pub, with beautiful gardens. Every time we visit they’ve made improvements inside and out, you can see a lot of care and love goes into running the place. We don’t visit as often now as we’ve moved out of the area, but we’re glad they’ve made it through all the restrictions. Only suggestion from me would be some vegan options food-wise.
